eHarmony Reviews Summary

The overall reputation of the company is significantly marred by customer dissatisfaction, primarily due to perceived deceptive practices regarding refunds and subscription management. Many users express frustration over the lack of suitable matches and the prevalence of fake profiles, leading to a sense of wasted time and money. Customers frequently highlight inadequate customer service, with limited access to support and automated responses exacerbating their concerns. While a few users mention positive experiences, the overwhelming sentiment suggests a need for improved transparency, better quality control of profiles, and a more responsive customer service approach.

Avoid - scam site
January 21, 2022

Huge waste of money, my word the things I could have done with the money wasted. One understands why the hapless characters still hoping for dates on this dreadful site have not met a match. Very few people to choose from - NONE in professions I would choose from. I am listed as ‘liberal' - as an example - and I keep getting matches from those who label themselves ‘very conservative' - really? And they have no interest in refunding you money. No fool like an eharmony fool.

I had joined eharmony before and found many fake profiles. Also, when you put your desired characteristics in for a match, the matches they give you don't fit those characteristics. When you delete the ones you don't want, they show up in the next day's prechosen matches. Contacting customer care does no good. They never answer your questions or concerns. It should be customer don't care. Thought I'd give it another shot with the new year, hoping eharmony had improved it's site with all the negative reviews. They haven't. It is worse than ever. Tried to purchase a 6 month subscription to test it out. I couldn't. Supposedly there was a 35% discount for six months. Tried this one, showed a 3 month subscription in my details, but I couldn't send messages (the receiver didn't get them though they showed in my message center) and my profile could not be accessed via a match search with specific details. (Had a friend try to find me using their profile. They couldn't) Eharmony is a fraudulent company and should be closed down.

This site is not worth buying. The updates and filters do not work. They overcharge you. And it rarely is updated as far as visible profiles. Yowort u get likes from overseas constantly. Really not worth the money.

It's so creepy I can't make myself login anymore! I realized I've made a mistake almost immediately after I signed up and paid - I wrote them 3 times to no avail. There was NO response at all, there is no phone number to call. The so-called "matches" are awful - I am a regular person, not too old, not too ugly and I am not looking for a 20 y. O. that looks like a Greek God - just a decent person would do. Well, it's been almost a year and there hasn't been ONE decent match. There are some trolls, there are many creeps and there are men that insist they live in the US but clearly can't speak English (as in - they are trying to scam you.) Just stay away from this pathetic "business" - I can't tell you how sad I am I let them have my $250 for this depression-inducing experience

E Harmony has the worst sign-up and cancellation policy they automatically renew your subscription and never send a reminder. When you sign up there is no option for a fixed term! I forgot to cancel less than a week and noticed on my visa, they will not refund my money and it was 578.34 for a year, a total rip-off. Outdated site, much better sites to try Bumble or Hinge or even Match. No one uses this site please don't use it.

I joined eharmony 12/14/21. Their "personality profile" matched me with terrible matches and very few to choose from, so I requested to cancel my membership and a full refund 12/16/21. THEY DENIED MY REQUEST FOR A REFUND, only providing refunds to people within 3 days if you live in Arizona, California,
Connecticut, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Rhode Island
And Wisconsin! WHY I wonder? Probably because those states have a law that allows consumers out of any agreement within 72 hours. IN OTHER WORDS, eharmony is gaming the system and refused me a refund after just 2 days of membership, leaning on their legal terms and conditions.NO ONE AT EHARMONY CARES ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE. I quit Match.com after a month and they offered me a full refund. It is only fair to all consumers to offer a refund within a reasonable period of time 7-14 days, so you can see what you are getting into. NOT SO WITH EHARMONY. ONCE YOU GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD, LIKE IT OR NOT, KISS YOUR MONEY GOOD-BYE. By the way, I NEVER review companies online. I am just so angry at their unethical business practices I want to warm people. TRY ANOTHER DATING SITE,

Signed up for the service based on their marketing/advertising with such hope & promise. After completing my profile then spending some time searching through their site found that there was absolutely no one I would be interested in. Despite this, there is no way to cancel the service for the year, they charge you the full year membership. When you cancel they come back saying you have successfully cancelled your autorenew for the next year like this is something so good, but they will still take the $500 from you based on monthly fees. This is criminal really. Do not sign up unless you also want to waste your money.

Brutal app!
December 8, 2021

Don' waste your time or money as no one is on this application so you might get a response from one person if your are lucky as no one uses it. I have had way better response from Zoosk and POF. This is a money grab as locked in for 6 months for "nothing". Very overpriced Tried for refund after first day and was denied. Stay away.

This company spares no expense paying affiliate websites to write glowing articles about them--- but they are in actuality SCAM artists who will trick you and steal your money with underhanded sales techniques supported by "small print". Their website is also a fraud--there is NO ONE one there. I signed up for their service thinking, by their sales page, it was a month to month subscription. Then I discovered they had charged me $300! I realized this two weeks later when I checked my Paypal account. They never sent me a receipt. I had already written to them before this to cancel my account because THERE WAS NO ONE ON THE SITE! They refused to refund me straight out because of their "terms and conditions in Canada." I told them I would accept responsibility for the first month, even though i didn't receive what i signed up for, but they would not answer my emails after that. I am still waiting for their response. AVOID if you are looking for a real dating site--- and don't want to be robbed!

If you want an accurate record of this company written by actual users, go to CONSUMER AFFAIRS: https://www.consumeraffairs.com/dating_services/eharmony.html
I have included two other reviews from the HUNDREDS of one star reviews from other customers.

I joined eHarmony with a discount membership. I turned off auto renewals immediately as I do with all subscription services. I was still charged at my "renewal" date, and they would not refund the money even though I contacted them within seconds of the charge. They claimed that I had not cancelled even though I specifically went through the cancel process and my app had the selection "Restore Subscription." They claimed that was for a "different" eHarmony subscription even though I used the app exclusively. It wasn't a different subscription and they are at best knowingly deceptive in their practices to steal money or at worst outright liars. Any company with any integrity wouldn't allow this. They don't care about integrity or their customers' experience.
Go on Match. Their matches are much better, there are many more of them, and their customer service is excellent. I joined them too, then realized I couldn't participate because they require photos which my profession strongly discourages. They refunded my money with no resistance whatsoever and invited me back if my situation changed.
Ask yourself, seriously, what subscription is one "restoring" in the app if as they claim you did not have that subscription to start with (it would say "join"). Their excuses are just a way to steal money from cancelled subscriptions. DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH A COMPANY LIKE THAT! Go to Match. They seem to have integrity where eHarmony does not.

This company has no morals and even if you cancel your account you will continue to get charged. I've made repeated requested to have my profile deleted and removed from the site, and they repeatedly ignore those requests and keep telling me to reply to the email if I would like to proceed with profile deletion. Every time I have made it clear, in no uncertain terms, I want my profile deleted, but they either won't or can't delete it. I don't know what to do!

I can't recommend that anyone sign up for this site. They have no ethics or morals, and just want your money.

EHarmony: The quickest way to set $500 on fire.
November 6, 2021

I made the mistake of signing up for a year based on past experience with eHarmony (years ago). After an hour of looking through their "matches" (online because I could not get into the app), I realized I had just wasted $500. They will not refund. They will not let me out of the agreement. Nobody who believes in their product would have such policies. Take Bumble. It's orders of magnitude better, and you pay by the month. Be warned.

I was forced to pay over $300 for six months the shortest duration in my area. The guys are not handsome or they're not members. Your matches are determined by personality and not physical preference which is the starter. You cannot widen the search to include alleged lower match so you can have basic physical compatibility. I will never look for a guy in BC or a bald guy - just being honest. The guys don't choose you; the computer matches you so their match is useless. This is the worst app I have ever used and don't imagine ever dating any "match."
