The overall reputation of the company is significantly marred by customer dissatisfaction, primarily due to perceived deceptive practices regarding refunds and subscription management. Many users express frustration over the lack of suitable matches and the prevalence of fake profiles, leading to a sense of wasted time and money. Customers frequently highlight inadequate customer service, with limited access to support and automated responses exacerbating their concerns. While a few users mention positive experiences, the overwhelming sentiment suggests a need for improved transparency, better quality control of profiles, and a more responsive customer service approach.

I signed up for eHarmony and during the course of my 1 year membership, I was sent exactly 3 "matches" that in no way, other than the fact that they had a pulse and are female, even came close to the matches I had specified in my account.
When I attempted to cancel my account, there was no provision on the web site to do so and my emails were not answered. Apparently there is, buried somewhere on the site, an auto-renewal option. I never found it nor did eHarmony respond to my emails to cancel my subscription or assist me in finding the auto-renewal button.
For the past two months, despite repeated emails demanding that my subscription be canceled, they have continually harassed me to make a payment but have refused to answer my requests to cancel my account. From what I understand after reading other forums, this is how they operate and will eventually attempt to send the account to collections.
The fact that they do not have a telephone number and refuse to provide one indicates to me that this is not an honest or above board site.
STAY AWAY FROM EHARMONY!
Don't bother wasting a penny with eharmony. This dating site has seen better times, it is noticeably dated and its algorithms are just sad. There are so few paying members, well, so few members at all and the matches are just awful. I'm a 56 year old woman, successful, educated, intelligent and well traveled. I am extremely fit and healthy. I don't need a man but would like to find an equal to share my life with.
EHarmony thinks I am best matched with people who have high school educations, mediocre jobs and mostly haven't traveled further than their neighboring city. None of the extremely limited matches looked they they had done any kind of exercise in the past 10 years.
Coming back to the algorithms, I am liberal and live in a very blue part of Florida. In this day and age how on earth am I matched with so called moderates and conservatives.
EHarmony has seen better days, once again - DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY
Absolute con. Underhanded in their contract conditions.
Promise the world and deliver nothing. I really feel like I've been ripped off and I'm going to cancel my debit card so they can't take aanother cent
Canceled and they still took my money. I canceled my membership and they still took 179.00 out of my account. I canceled on the same day as the renewal. And they still will not give me my money back. Worst dating site ever!
I agree with other reviews. I did get a couple of dates. The results were less than stellar. Most people don't even respond to your likes, etc. Some are downright weird or odd. The pictures were lacking on many profiles and the pictures that were shown were horrible. I wonder if dudes even look at what their posting.
I had high hopes for eharmony. Two of my friends found their husbands through this site. But my experience was awful. The men just didn't respond. At all. I got many matches and many lookers, but no responses to messages, compliments, or smiles. The experience took its toll. I'm now experiencing a pretty good case of depression and low self esteem from feeling totally rejected. I'm glad this site works for some people, but I wasn't one of them.
The site is not geared towards people in their mid to upper 30s or early 40s. There's a very small group of people willing to pay the overpriced membership fee to begin communicating. The site allows people to lie about their age. It is really no better than some of the free sites that are out there. Please don't waste your time or money with eHarmony. Nickname should be stealUrmony.
When you sign up and pay for a subscription on eharmony they will not stop charging you even if you cancel your subscription. It is terrible that they do this. I found my perfect match and we both wanted to cancel of accounts and subscription. They will cancel our account but will continue to charge both of us. I had a 6 month subscription and don't need it anymore. They are going to keep changing me for 4 more months even with my profile deleted. So be very careful about using eharmony.
Always remember that there is no background check on any of the individuals backgrounds. I tried a "Date" that was nothing but a very scary wrestling match. Have your date in a public place, be careful you're not followed when you leave. The site doesn't care who you really are or what you really do, how old you are (everyone seems to lie about that.) do your own checking as far as you can. BUT BE VERY CAREFUL.
I signed up to this site to send someone a message, it showed me that the price was 50% off and listed the price at $14, however i missed the small print (My fault). I checkout via PayPal, but it never displayed the total before submitting payment, payment just went through. I check my bank account to see how much i actually paid, and it showed $361.00! You would think an ethical/transparent company would show your exactly how much you're paying before you send them money. Nor did they inform me that i was paying all at once up front.
I tried to contact customer services right away to cancel, not only did it take them two days for them to get back to me, they said that they were unable to cancel the payment, because i didn't live in a State where the 3 day cancellation policy was in effect, and also due to the fact that they didn't want to or have to.
Where's the costumer service and customer loyalty? How can they hide the total of the price before checking out?
Now I'm stuck with a subscription for a website I'll never use, and I'm out of pocket $361.00.
Anyone else have a similar experience, or have to deal with customer service with these guys?
Eharmony system automatically put me on a year subscription. I never join any dating sites for one year. I just wanted to try it and when I alerted them they said I was past their three day policy. No matter how much I discussed the situation with them it was too bad so sad go on hold or give it to a friend. The give it to the friend one really amazed me, that's some expensive gift to give a friend. Besides not having any matches in my area they sent me to collections even though PayPal allowed me to cancel my subscription and I paid them up-to-date.
They canceled me from the site but to my surprise even though my bank and PayPal disallowed them to continue to charge me for their service that I did not want in the first place they sent me to collections. Be very very careful carful when choosing eharmony dating site. Not only do they not have good matches they have a poor subscription policy. They don't have any matches most likely because there's a lot of other sites that you can go on that you don't have to get hassled to pay when you don't want their services..
Don't even bother signing up on this site. They don't have enough candidates for you to choose from as they've pre selected them based on the answers that you've provided when you signed up. The men on my queue were the type of men that I've swiped left on Tinder and Bumble. Those two sites are better and free. Between E. Harmony and Match.com I'd go with the later. This is an expensive site and not even worth my money. I want my money back!
This service is a rip off. The customer care should be called company care as they do not address or care about your concerns, they enforce the T&Cs. The free app is useless and the paid version is not worth the extremely high cost. I live in California and my parameters were 10 year age difference within 30 miles, which resulted in very few matches. Read the T&C carefully, you only have THREE days to cancel and get a refund or not be charged remaining amounts. Most companies offer seven days and others up to 30 days. I tried to cancel after 15 days due to the disappointing service and was told no and referred to the T&C, so I am out $400. They are in this for money and do not care about the quality of their service or you, the consumer. Don't waste your money. You would be more likely to win the lottery than find a match or receive quality customer service.
This company is a scam. If you do not look closely at the contract and do not switch it to not renew they will send you to collections after you have talked to them about cancelling your subscription. They now want me to pay $480 for nothing received.
Run do not walk run away from this site they are the worst!

To preface, I used eharmony a lot and yes i did pay for this site as well, what you do for love right? So with that being said, I will give a very honest review of this dating site. First and most importantly you literally cannot do anything with a free membership so let's get that out of the way now, if you want to use this app for free you can't, you have to pay to do anything. Is the price affordable no it is not is the short answer, many other dating sites are far less cheap and better than eharmony.
Now let's talk about the quality of people, there are none unless you live in a major city if not then expect a match to live a couple of hundred miles away from you. So in conclusion eharmony is just a big money trap that preys on desperate and lonely people, stay away at all costs.
I canceled eharmony after 3 months but paid for 6 months! Now they have sent Me to collections for over 400 bucks! This is outrageous!
I have had no adequate matches. I am 55, in shape, highly educated, no children or ex's, own my home, financially independent, very nice looking and have answered questions in a fairly detailed manner. As I said above, I live in a large city in between Boston and Hartford.
So NOT HAPPY, especially for the price of admission to this show. Total waste of money and time.
How convenient you add proof of purchase to limit this review. You already have that in your data. But here it is. I'll be looking for my review to be posted.
They debited my account... due to technical problems on their behalf I am not able to log on the site there is NO PHONE NUMBER and they will not refund your money
I have found this website to be none effective, almost non-functioning. It is a pure waste of money and there are no matches that are even similar. There are other websites that are much more effective and workable. I wouldn't waste my money on this one
Answer: EHarmony is over rated and it's a lot of mumbo jumbo... If you're going to pay for a site match.com is set up much better and for a free site plenty of fish is really a nice site... BillyPrewitt.com
Answer: No. They won't refund you.
Answer: On your profile where you get asked questions like whats your fav movie and so on. Replace any answers you have already left with offensive language which in turn will violate their terms and conditions and they will have no option than to close your account. As for getting a refund good luck.
Answer: I called my credit card company because I cancelled within the three day grace period. Eharmony tried to say I had waited too long and therefore would be no refund. My credit card company disputed the charges, my account was credited and I was just notified that the dispute has been approved. No more eharmony charges. Hoe things work out for you.
Answer: You can't opt out. You are locked for the whole duration of your subscription even if u dont use it anymore they will charge ur visa regardless untill ur contract expires. I have to spend 11 more months to a site I cant use coz Im a transgender woman and no man in there wants me.
Answer: Well I have but I No longer on those sites anymore because they are scammers of course and I was on match truly.com and I deactivate my account off there as well but however sometimes I register on that website match truly.com even though I'm No longer a member on that website anymore because I still see the same lady Anna I'd Number is 60780729 and she's still online right now just like any other ladies you see on that site so I go on there just to waste their time and use abusive behavior against them to teach them a lesson and I don't pay money for that so that's why if you Noticed just pay close attention to the lady Anna on match truly.com and you will see her on wishdates.com and many other dating sites so I'm just tracking these websites down and you can see the ladies are Not real and can you tell me what Normal person would stay online 24 hours a day and seven days a week that's Not a Normal person that's a Networker and they like to make all kinds of excuses for themselves so don't listen to Nonsense about what they say because if you keep talking to these fake ladies they will Robb you out of your money so pretty much wasting your time because you are Not getting anywhere but a dead end and believe me I know what I'm talking about because I was on that website for two years and believe me they are phony and so is the customer support they are fake and they think they are very intelligent human beings and they think they can manipulate people so just watch yourself and be careful because I'm still seeing the same ladies on that website today from two years ago they are Not real and they are Not looking for anyone
