The company has garnered a mixed reputation, with some customers praising the quality of unique items and positive experiences with customer service. However, a significant number of reviews highlight serious concerns, including inflated shipping costs, poor communication, and issues with product authenticity. Many customers report dissatisfaction with the handling of returns and complaints, often facing unresponsive support. Overall, while there are pockets of positive feedback, the prevailing sentiment suggests a decline in service quality and transparency, leading to frustration among long-time users and potential legal actions from dissatisfied customers.

Gorgeous coach purse brand new condition at a great price! Easy to shop website and can search for what you're looking for!
I like EBTH because my items sell for more and I have less to do than sellling on other platforms. They take great pictures too.
Bad descriptions, lack of knowledge of offered items, doubt it was an honest auction because some high valued items were sold for pennies. No accounting of items as to what they sold for and sellers amount given. In my opinion they are crooks!
EBTH shipping is absolutely INSANE! Additionally, they sent me an item that was damaged and refused to refund me. All the photos they took of the item deliberately left out any photo of the damaged part. I sent them a photo within minutes of the delivery, it was a sterling item that was significantly dented, and they still refused to do anything about it. Very poor customer service on TOP of over-inflated shipping costs.
My first experience with EBTH and I couldn't be happier. Received my lovely painting, wrapped securely and delivered quickly.
This site offers an wide range of objects, from fake jewelry to Porsches. Beware the scant information offered on size, condition, and material something is made of. Also, they don't know what Art Deco is, so search for that style knowing you're going to get a little of everything.
I have made over 50 purchases from EBTH and have had very little problems until recently. I purchased an item costing $573.46 and was charged that amount to my credit card on 5-23-18. The items never arrived. I continuously called, but was never supplied an answer. Finally, on 6-29-18 my credit card was credited for the total amount, with no apology, no email, and no return phone call from my previous calls. This is not my ideas of a reputable company. The entire situation stinks and they couldn't care less.
WARNING! Do NOT do business with this company they are extremely disorganized! They have very deceptive business practices. They are not transparent or professional. The communication is awful! They do not follow through with what they offer and tell you what ever you want to hear initially! If you start asking questions about your contract before you sign it, they are put off by that and will ignore most of your questions, hoping you proceed anyways. I gave them hundreds of items to consign which they've had in their possession for for two months. They only accepted four things out of many. Instead of telling me this straight away they held onto my items they weren't going to sell instead of returning them to me promptly! Unbelievable! I had to hound them over and over to get simple questions answered before I agreed to the terms. Its a legal document so, hell yeah I'm going to ask questions. Vermin they are. They have a few naive millennials doing the leg work with clients who have no idea how to conduct business. I'm willing to give people chances and have some flexibility with regard to learning curves younger people may have but hot damn these folks are seriously clueless. They returned my items to me and I went through them only to discover over half my inventory was missing. I have a record of everything they took. So we'll see how this goes. I'll update this review when I hear back from these clowns. They also blocked my EBTH account so I can't access any info. Other reviewers experienced the same. I am disgusted and pissed. Stay away. Total waste of time, money, and energy. Not worth the hassle or aggravation. Read the countless terrible reviews! They do NOT give referrals fees to current clients by the way. Zero stars.
I've been buying from EBTH for two years having made my first purchase in June of 2016. I purchased enough items to have spent literally (and stupidly) thousands. When many of the items were damaged and the claims became ridiculously difficult and I did not receive any compensation, I stopped my addiction to the auction style and left them in November that same year. One of the emails received from them indicated that they did not have all the kinks ironed out and some of the packing services were poor. However they did have my money and frankly I sometimes paid a lot more than the items were worth due to the bidding. I was sucked back in in March of this year and thought things were better until I received an item that was listed in good condition and later found out that it was broken in an obscure place that I may not have found out had I not seen the same item and noticed the difference. EBTH refused any sort of compensation because the time was over their designated 30 days (The item was delivered on May 12 and I put in the email claim on July 2). The idea that they would not compensate a customer who had spent thousands for an item that was just over $100.00 is ludicrous. Again, you have no way of seeing what you're bidding on so beware. As I review the pics of my purchase at the website, I see that they did not really take a photo from the angle that would have shown the damage. I will stop purchasing once again and close my account never to look back. I'll stick with Ebay if I want to spend money - at least they have checks and balances in place and years of experience.
It is no wonder ETBH is downsizing. They do not have customer service to handle the many complaints and problems. While I have bought several things from ETBH, the shipping and " handling" prices are ridiculous and they have managed to: misplace: a couple of things. The latest is a very large rug! After a month of no return calls from ETBH, ( no surprise there), I took a refund, but that will be 6 to 8 weeks!
The Auctions and selling was easy and they listened when I needed changes. Will sell again. I also am a buyer and find the Charlotte office just top notch to deal with directly. Others are good as well.
Ease of knowing the ship and handling charges. Great customer service when its needed. Lost of pictures and info o the items.
I have purchased 4 framed pictures. Two of them arrived damaged! They want to blame UPS but the boxes were not damaged. EBTH does not know how to pack pictures for shipping and have made no effort to look into improving how they do things. If packing and shipping is done by a vendor they make no effort to control the quality of that vendor's product. They are really slow at providing refunds! They won't escalate your issues to management. This is also a clear indication that upper management does not care about customer concerns or suggestions. EBTH has a lot if internal issues and issues with their website and notifications to clients. They don't want to take responsibility for anything. They DO make sure they promptly get your money.
Purchased furniture from 3 different sales. In all cases, pickup or delivery was fast and efficient. Furniture was as good or better than advertised.
I used EBTH to sell our items. Oh my gosh what a nightmare. The descriptions were all off, sizes incorrect, condition of items bad and descriptions to cry over. I understand why this is a good site to buy on because you are really getting the items cheap based on how they run the auction, but beware being a seller you will really feel ripped off.
Great way to shop at an auction without leaving your house. I enjoy the experience each time. I have fun looking at the items. Too expensive to buy and have shipped if looking at large pieces.
I highly recommend ETBH to anybody who loves the auction process. It's a pleasure to work with these people.
Ive spent over $10,000 with this company but I'm done. Last week I submitted a request via chat to Sophia to find out if an item could be broken down into parts... a very simple question. I never received a response but purchased the item regardless. Two days after the auction ended, I received a response from Sophia stating no one from the team ever responded to her. Is no one accountable? Do they not care about their customers? Now, I guess Ill have to rent a trailer to pick up the item when I may not need to. The bottom line is that they just don't care. They've lost a good customer.
EBTH has the highly effective auction bidding software, incorporating simplicity of use, delivery notification, detailed photos all easy to understand with uncluttered screens. Also the ability to save a history of interested bid items before and after sale conclusion plus a history of purchases in my bidder account. Plus the large selection of varied priced items.
One cannot go wrong with EBTH. The inventory changes daily, so if you can't find what you're looking for, check back tomorrow. In each and every time I'd had to communicate with someone directly I was always treated respectfully and professionally. And if there is a problem it is dealt with swiftly, honestly, and amicably.
Answer: I am just got through selling items through EBTH, and it has been the worst experience I have ever had. They grouped many expensive items together because they thought it was in the best interest of the company not the seller. I am also currently seeking legal council to potentially file suit against the company for fraudulent business practices. They didn't even give me a copy of their so called "contract", that I had to sign and send in with my items, until there was only 1 hour left in my sale. They left out the most expensive pieces I sent in and didn't sell them at all, didn't find out why until sale was over. As if all this weren't enough, they took real diamonds from the items I sent in to sell and replaced them with "white sapphires". So needless to say, they're probably about to get hit with a heavy lawsuit!
Answer: I have filed with the BBB and IC3 for internet fraud, and I am writing the Attorney General of Ohio. These guys make the used car salesman of the 60's look like saints. The products are marginal, and the service i mean customer service is non-existent. I also filed a fraud case with my bank, because for 3 week I got the run-around about them shipping the item, I never got it, and they said they couldn't return my money. Not true! In the United States, keeping the money and keeping the merchandise is illegal. Don't let the technology and glam of the website fool you, they are deceptive, dishonest, and you get the 'EVERYTHING BUT WHAT YOU PAID FOR.
Answer: Just to let you know ebth customers and consignors are dropping like flies. The arrogant company just terminated nearly 300 employees and closed markets in many states. That means its not growing, its failing.
Answer: I've not sold with them and never would. I've read the responses from people who sold items with these people and if you would like to be ripped off, then by all means go ahead. You'd fair much better by locating an auction house in your area. My experience with this particular bunch of thieves is on the buying end. Photos do not show the big picture, if there is a flaw in any item it will not be in the description and most certainly will not be photographed. The exorbitant shipping charges are insane. I'm not sure if as a seller you would see any profit from shipping, my guess is it goes right into their pockets. This is a very dishonest bunch from top to bottom. Please find a reputable dealer to sell you cherished items, I cannot stress this enough.
Answer: I bid on a pair of Swarovski Crystal Penguins. I was unaware that the larger Penguin was supposed to have a "tail" at the back. It's difficult to see with the cutting of the crystal so I only noticed it when I saw another like item and it had the tail. I closely inspected and can see what I thought was a cut in the crystal is really not smooth and is where the tail should be. The item was delivered on May 12. I put in a claim on July 2 and the company is standing on their 30 day return policy even though they listed as good condition and it was not broken in the box, I've spent thousands of dollars at their site and probably would have continued. The customer service individual refused to let me speak to a manager and just kept repeating the same thing. Now for 134 dollars, I am done with ever buying another thing. Not a good way to run a business. If they are going out... it's no wonder.
