Sold item April 19 2022 at 9:53. Customer paid for item at 10:42 April 19 2022. Package was shipped April 20 2022. Package was delivered April 23 2022. First contacted ebay on April 25 2022 to find out why I did not receive pay out on item. No reason was given to me as to why it was taking so long. I was told it would be in the bank the next day. Got a message the next day informing me my payout did not go through. Again no information or explanation as to why it was not going through. Still have no ideal when I will be paid. Posted on ebay on 4/26/2022 my next payout will be 4/27/2022. Don; t expect ebay to pay fast.
I want to tell everyone, ebay didn't stop the transaction where the iphone was bought from my bank account and shipped from California to New York City for 3 days. I lost $ 1,100 even though ebay informed me it was a theft! Ebay explained that the transaction was legal even though my address and state are different, so i think ebay is unreliable!
The price of selling on eBay has become ridiculous for the occasional seller. An item that sold (4/22) for $450.00, eBay took $64 and change. It used to be that the seller knew exactly what the fees were going to be before you listed the item. The system is so convoluted and confusing that you have little idea what the fees are going to be until after you have sold the item. In this case the selling fees were roughly 1/7 of the selling price. What!? That is crazy! Communicating with eBay is extremely difficult. Their rules favor the buyer with little protection for the seller.
I have been an eBay seller and buyer for 10 years. When they went away from PayPal as their payment processor, everything went down hill. Not only have their fees gotten ridiculous, but they hold your money for ungodly periods of time. They place holds on your funds all the time as well. Most recently I sold a PSA 10 NFL card for $79. I received notification, purchased shipping label through eBay and put it in the mail. When I checked my funds, I discovered they were being held, and I needed to read my messages. I went back several months and found a message I missed that they needed me to submit a copy of my government issued ID and bank statement. So I did. The next day, eBay suspended my account with no explanation stating it could not be appealed. Furious, I called eBay's customer service and after 3 tries finally got a human in who knows what country. I was put on several holds and finally ended the call after 45 minutes of dead air. I called back later and spoke to another person, who after 30 minutes informed me that experts couldn't verify my ID was valid. IT'S A MAINE STATE ISSUED REAL ID! Clearly their EXPERTS aren't that smart. He told me they had to submit my information through social security or some whacked out excuse and that I might be paid in 6 months. Even told me it was illegal to pay me. Illegal? I provided a valid MAINE ID and my legitimate bank statement matching names and address. This is corporate theft, and for people like me, they can get away with it, because "who is going to sue them?" I'm now out a card, I wasn't compensated for it, and I cannot even access my account because they shut it off. How's that for a reputable company? EBay needs to be held accountable for this crap. They ship their customer service overseas, steal money, and hide behind federal laws. Well, if you aren't competent enough to verify a United States issued drivers license, then you shouldn't be allowed to do business in our country. I hope this company crashes and burns, because stealing money is stealing money even if you hide behind a fortune 500 label.
I ordered a product through smart Shopper 26 on the eBay site. I never received the product. The tracking stated that it was delivered to another zip code (other than mine). Smart Shopper refused to replace the lost item and the eBay money back guarantee is not true. They just use the gimmick to get you to buy through them. They also use USPS to deliver your item and it could be dropped off anywhere. Beware,,,,
These people will ruin your credit on their account and could care less about their customers. It is April and I've been trying to pay my $14 balance (which was incurred from family children posting and myself deleting them because they were not real) since December. I've heard every excuse in the book: wait for two weeks, it's a technical issue that is being fixed so give it two weeks, we've escalated it, we've escalated it higher up the ladder, we will send you a special email to pay (never got sent), try this link to pay, and then finally (after spending hours with customer service) they tell me to call Global Collections. I've tried to add my card and bank account, my mothers card and bank account, my fathers card and bank account, and my brothers card and bank account. I've tried on Apple products, Samsung products, laptops, iPads, surfaces, and desktop computers. Customer service is the most useless thing I have ever dealt with. EBay cares less about their customers (been using them 20 years, 4 years on this account). If you want a headache for half a year ending in them telling you to call a collection agency after you've spent all this time trying to pay them, then I would definitely recommend eBay. What a nightmare.
My most recent seller {of an Elf product} sent me a wrong item…they required me to print a label, go to the post office to ship her mistake back then wait 5 days for a refund. Then when the the seller {treskcoope0} got the return…he/she refused to refund me and ebay is non responsive! I have tried IM, facebook posting, emails to seller and their own surveys. NOPE no refund. Now my credit card bank is reversing the charge and talking to eBay in hopes to get my refund for me.…no more Ebay for me!
I've been in a constant game with eBay. Every time
My item starts to collect bids they suspend my
Account with the hardships of customer service is
Outrageously unprofessional being traded back and forth between representatives and still no solutions. Then when trying to
Delete my information as well as the site I've been
Told there's no option to delete the account. I
Would advise anyone to use this unprofessional site.
I have been a loyal Ebay customer for 5 years. That is the first thing Ebay says after I finally make contact with a human at customer service. What I have come across will wake you to what occurs when a damage claim is filed. It will shock you to find out they are not there to expedite your claim or give you any assistance.
You are relegated to a robotic A-i chat or if you type in AGENT into the box a robotic-human agent in Guatemala, Columbia or the Philippines will answer. They will read a script that is repeated every phone call you will make. They say they are sorry and take down your information. They each read the same story of your calls while you wait them to come up to speed. NO ONE is able to help.
Its a ruse and a way to dampen your energy and eventually shut you down. I have a 7K bike sitting damaged by UPS Bike Flights in a garage in California that a buyer cannot get UPS to come and deliver it back to me. Ebay says they cannot do anything that I the sender must now pay for my shipping back while the buyer is now into the third week with his money tied up with Pay Pal unable to get it back.
An insider that asked to remain anonymous says the Pay Pal refund can take up to 90 days. This is buyer who paid up front without having the Bike in their hands. It arrived damaged by UPS Bike Flights (they are a whole different story I have yet to review) and now he must wait to get refunded up to 90 days? This fiasco is playing out I suspect all over the Ebay platform as buyers and sellers deal with a system that is broke intentionally. If this changes I will write a follow up Review
Ebay is HORRIBLE! Customer service sucks! Website sucks! They just refer you to someone else because they can't figure out the simple issues... I tried 6 times... and they can't even help me set up a basic account!
I have used eBay for years now, successfully I must say. This success, however, has only been due to my good understanding of the limits of the service they offer. If you are shopping on the second-hand market, eBay is probably the best place in the world. Their ability to connect buyers and sellers, as well as the availability and selection of used goods are unsurpassed.
But that's about all you get. They fall short in almost every other segment of their operations. EBay is ripe with fraud due to the decentralized business model they adopted, which they are unable to keep under control. Their competition beats them in terms of quality of service, consumer protection, customer support, price competitiveness, shopping experience, website functionality, and security. EBay is unethical about their advertising practices. Their consumer protection program is rather nonexistent. Yes, you will get a no-hassle refund for purchases of $5 or $20, but see what happens when you get swindled out of $200 or more. Scripted responses, plenty of runarounds, and sweeping under the carpet. In those cases customers don't come first any longer.
EBay PR folks, please don't bother responding to this commentary, just let it be. Nobody cares about your damage control efforts. Reinvest your creativity into improving customer experiences on both ends, it will be beneficial to all of us.
I was very shocked by ebay's administration and their policies about 30 days return policy. First, the seller did not send my item and never answered my emails regarding my purchased item. Then, this seller contacted the eBay administration to open up the case. Then they decided NOT to refund my money nor send the item later. Several months later, the seller CHANGED his/her SELLER ID name and kept the account with the eBay! The eBay has a IT personnel to figure out all the transactions between the seller and buyer,,,, unfortunately, eBay has no IT technician. So I hope All consumers should not have any account with eBay otherwise you will loose the money ( No refund, No response, No responsibility). I wonder how many people were blackmailed by eBay in the past and now?
Do not order items on eBay as a guest. The item was not ship to my house which I was charged for. I created an account, and the item will not show up in your purchased history. When you go to your email and click on tracking number, provide feedback and/or Money back guarantee, it shows item not found.
EBay offers very little support for sellers. Commission rates make it impossible to make a fair share of the sale. You are also required to pay commission on shipping. By the time you list, make a sale, and ship the item sold, your expenses are typically 20-25% of your listing price. The only party making money is eBay, and they are laughing all the way to the bank.
After a sabbatical from Ebay, I placed an item for sale. The value of the item was $500, and I sold it (new but no box) for $378.67. For some reason ebay feels that their fee should be 20% of the value of the item, plus additional assorted expenses. In addition, they hold the money and have set up their site so that it is almost difficult to use anything except their own shipping system, which they again scoop funds from. The site is a nightmare. I'd rather give my items away.
I purchased the book on the Colorado Continental Divide Trail-Colorado. I paid over $62 for it. I received an email indicating shipment dates and anticipated expectations of delivery TWICE! I never received this book. I attempted to contact e-Bay and they never responded. They just kept my money and refused to acknowledge their intentional theft of funds from my credit card. I have all receipts and emails factually demonstrating this statement. What a bunch of CROOKS!
Beware of ebay seller eyensteins
Will send you fake glasses and deny it.
Not even the same brand of glasses.
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE DO NOT USE! They won't refund my fees when I had to refund the order to customer. Now I have fees on my account because they won't refund seller fees when I had to refund order. Totally unreliable. Choose other marketplaces.
Answer: I would never buy a used car without seeing it in person and having it checked out.
Answer: Ebay is a den of thieves. Even Ebay is evasive on complaints to answers. When looking for items, be sure to be fully informed to what you are shopping and use all that knowledge to cypher the listing, even then have found those that list items to be evasive on answers. Avoid ebay if possible!
Answer: For their own purposes and to protect dishonest sellers. I was once an avid EBay shopper, but now avoid EBay. Buyer protection no longer exists. You buy at your own risk.
Answer: Ebay sells nothing. You are dealing with private sellers. Some are good, some are not. The best way to determine this is to check the feedback. I personally never buy from anyone who has a feedback lower than 90%. 96% is considered bad, by Ebay. Take that with a grain of salt. Ebay management is nuts.
Answer: If you haven't already learned the hard way that Ebay is just pure bullshit when it comes to the sellers rights. When someone wants to send it back for any reason other than it doesn't work as described, you will be footing the bill. Not only will you lose the money you paid to ship it to them, Ebay will offer to provide a return label for them at your expense. Yep, that's right. They will bill you the price of the label if you don't provide it. Either way, you are paying for it to get back to you. It's get better. You can't leave negative feedback for the buyer either. It's not an option NO MATTER
Answer: Not to me! It's my main shopping tool! I look for good deals and free shipping!
Answer: Yes. You are right. All what people told you are correct. Don't trust ebay and the seller on ebay. Amazon much better than them. But anyway the best way to buy electronics from the local stores or official stores.
Answer: This depends on the seller of the item - carefully check their feedback and trust you intuition if you have doubts try another seller you feel safer with...
Answer: Hi Tom, As for reviews, you don't get them. It's called feedback. When you buy an item, the seller will probably leave feedback after you leave feedback for them. I hope that answers your question. Nancy
Answer: Depends on the seller. I wouldn't buy anything off ebay because there a crappy company.
Buy and sell electronics, cars, fashion apparel, collectibles, sporting goods, digital cameras, baby items, coupons, and everything else on eBay, the world's online marketplace
