I called to get internet and TV. Never did the salesman that signed me up tell me internet wasn't available in my area. He just signed me up, scheduled install. Install is supposed to be here by 12pm it is 11:41AM. No text, no call abd nobody is here. I called at 10 to confirm appt at which time I was informed no internet was ever set up and they don't have it available here but the install person does show scheduled between 8 am and 12pm. They will contact you 30 minutes prior. So I sit here missing work at 11:44 now with no call and no tech.
Can we charge them for the hours of my life waiting. Bring lied to. Confirming I was lied to and still no service. Ggggrrrrr
We have had DirecTV since 2000. Where we live, there isn't any other option. DirecTV was great until AT&T bought them, and now like their wireless service, it is the worst! All call centers are in the Phillippines, if you're lucky enough to get someone who speaks english, you can't understand them. We carry an $8.99 per month service plan, for all their equipment. Called Friday and after 30 minutes on the phone, finally got a service call set up for Monday 10/23/23. They were specifically told that the cable needed to placed in PVC, to prevent dog from chewing it. The technician arrived, had no idea why he was here, he said they do not carry anything like that on the truck. I had some and provided it and assistance in protecting the cable, now I have to go buy clips to secure everything, because they don't even have those. Today I got an email and they decided without permission to move us to the Protection Plan Premiere, which we don't need, and is $20.99 per month. My wife just spent more than 30 minutes on the phone with Sandy, who could not be understood, trying to get this straightened out. We still don't know if it has been fixed. I would like this corrected. Stay away from anything AT&T!
While Directv's service may be acceptable (they give you tv, duh), no one EVER mentions the $485 early termination fee.
This might have been a handy bit of information to have PRIOR to my deciding to sign up with them.
Up until today I was a happy customer. There was an issue with recording programs. I tried several things but nothing worked. I called tech support.
I clearly explained the problem and then things crashed and burned. The agent was giving my confusing and contradictory information. I became frustrated and ended the call.I was totally lost & confused about what had happened. A few minutes later I thought maybe I just had a bad agent so decided to try again. The 2nd agent was also no help.
In a final attempt to resolve what I thought was a simple issue, I called back and asked to speak to a supervisor. I was told she was finishing with another customer and would call me back within 10-15 minutes.
After waiting for an hour and a half and still no call I cancelled my account.
Customer service - and I use that term extremely loosely- is clearly outsourced outside of the United States. I wonder if I would have had better success with a native English speaking agent.
I was really happy with the services offered by Direct TV and am sorry that tech support, or more accurately, lack of tech support, made me cancel service.
A couple weeks ago I tried to make an account but the website didn't work so i contacted an agent who told me they are working on it now I waited two days then gave up and a week later I tried again but my phone number wasn't valid in there files and for some dumb reason the person I was live chatting wanted my address like that would help I don't recommend direct tv at all
Hannah Davis sold me on a Genie... they were great on a big screen... now she is gone... trashed the entire entertaintment system in drunkin' party... cancelled subscription due to apathy.
DirectTV has obsolete equipment that fails multiple times a week, they can't make it work, then charged me $359 to cancel and return the equipment. I disputed the cancelation charge so they threatened to send my cancellation charge to collection agencies.
After many times complaining about the equipment failing (the only answer was go around and unplug router and every tv box) they insisted that I go to the Direct TV Streaming service that provided fewer channels and was $200+ a month more than Hulu Streaming that had local channel access.
This actually ended up being a positive experience as the Hulu Streaming quality is exceptional and hundreds of dollars a month less.
DirectTV just needs to close down and quite screwing every customer they can coerce into signing up for their NON CANCELLABLE service. They are actually now worse than CenturyLink and United Airlines if you can believe that one.
DirectTV is expensive and does not want to pay for PAC-12 sports channels. I am going to boycott and suggest you do too! Agree or Disagree? Yes or No?
There's lots of reasons I don't like DirecTV, 1. Is getting the wrong info and year on lots of Gunsmoke episodes. 2. is that we can't get accidentally deleted program back. When Dish you can.
I really liked DirecTV in the start. Cable co. Were no competition. I'm not so sure since they were bought out. I see a change in everything, not sure yet if it is good or bad. Also I have gone from 65.00 a month for everything to 195.00 a month, ofcourse due to what I've added on but still... think maybe it is cheaper with cable?
SINCE AT&T TOOK OVER, WHAT WAS BARELY BEARABLE IS NO LONGER ABLE TO TAKE. PRICES HAVE NOT GONE UP anymore surprising but everything else has gone down. Switched to DirecTV NOW and although still in the starting stages, it is much more of a value.
FOR 8 YRS, THEY DAMAGE YOUR CREDIT EVEN WHEN YOU PROVE YOU WERE NOT AT FAULT.

I had direct tv for 3 year never really late on a bill well yesterday turn my tv their message on my screen so I called the number they say my bill over 900 their no way it could of I argued with 10 different people. I told them to cancel my service they kept sending me to different departments and then when I finally made the last phone call, they're going to charge me another three300 for early this condition disconnection fee I had them for three years when my payment went through last month and on June 9 of this year, I am highly disappointed in DIRECTV
Ordering new service, Direct tv stream... they charge you to own the equipment $120.00 per box monthly. 10per month. I saw the contract and backed out... cancelled order and they sent the boxes anyway making me liable for the 240.00 for boxes... they charged my account the 15.00 tax in order to even move on. Twice they charged me and twice they took it off... no one could even tell me to open the box and there was the label to return them kept sending me somewhere else time to refrain and get rid of partnership U suck... They were going to bill my account for service on July 14, service not installed until 17th SHAME ON YOU Do Not Subscribe with them...! Danger rolling on the floor, he just showed up for installation there is no communication in this company good luck getting anything done right what a shame in this day... all about their pocket... no channels anyway... and nothing on what we do pay for... WHY? Direct TV is co partners with AT&T for the lady trying to call them *******000 I do not know why... must have problems too!
I had to cancel my subscription as they cancelled all the shows my family liked watching. Will never sign back up with them as we can access via other platforms.

I do not receive my bills in the mail like I requested. My bill keeps going up. I never received my gift card for signing up. My main tower was put in the kids room when I requested for it to go in the living room. When I request for them to come move my dist away from the kids window as it's a fire safety issue they keep canceling the appointment. I've taken time off work for them to come out only to be canceled. That's time I miss from work to pay my bills and feed my kids. I work paycheck to paycheck. I can't keep missing work when they won't do there job. I can't afford for my bill to keep going up when it's on a locked in plane for 2 yrs. How they do business is beyond me. I'm ready to go someplace else for service. Our just get a ruku TV and not worry about my a provider.
I might have to change to disk tv because direct must be to cheap to keep channel 338. I had been watching this station for years and all of a sudden its gone.

August 3,2023 we changed from Dish Tv to Direct Tv due to not having a weather channel, I was told Direct TV has 4 channels. The problem with this is we live right on the edge of a county where we could get the local channels but because we live on the other side of the county line we have to get our service that is 150 miles away so we still don't know if we are going to get blown away during a storm. When I signed up for Direct Tv, I was told we would get a $200.00 rewards card within a month, it has been 7 weeks and no card. I was given the lady name and phone number which I have now called 3 times and even left my phone for her to call me back. When I called about the rewards card yesterday, I will given another phone number which I called and was told I did not have any rewards card on file to be sent to me. I feel like I was lied too by this lady and we are VERY UNHAPPY WITH DIRECT TV
I had direct TV for over 14 years and I moved from Illinois to Tennessee. I called direct tv to cancel my services due to I was moving and I was told they could service my area when in fact they couldn't when the installer came out. When you call Direct TV they don't like to take no for an answer and I had called 8 days ago to cancel and they still had my account active. I was told by one caller that I would not be billed for any further services due to all of the issues they caused me. I would not recommend direct TV for anyone They are happy to sign you up but they don't like to take no for an answer as well as all the marketing calls you get to sign up for free services and then you have to remember to cancel them its ridiculous to the fact the I have blocked Direct TV

Answer: It is a scam 100%. Just read the reviews. You don't realize it until they got your money and you need something! They are holding peoples money from them that doesn't belong to them. They may even tell you you'll get it back. Just keep waiting, you wont. Then you have to call back and go through the entire process again. I'm on 6 weeks now/Overdraft fees/No Thanksgiving/ and I have photo proof I cancelled 2 days before my free trial was up. They just didn't want me to cancel! Lol. They do things different here. You have been WARNED my friends!
