Signed up for your contract redeemed my $250 Visa debit card followed all steps to redeem rewards a month after I receive service keep giving me the runaround it has been 6 months have not received my reward visa card and my bill has went up $100 they cannot explain anything to me once my contract is over I am done with DirecTV!
I signed up thru at&t on dec 1st 2023. Ive been with xfinity for awhile. Im a disabled vet so I was trying to cut some of my bills. Att had a good deal. I sign up to get cable thru direct tv. Att tell me the earliest they can send a technician to hook everything up would be dec 21st. They come out and realize they only hooked up fiber in half of my hoa. Of course my side didnt have it. So they recommend me to keep my setup as is with xfinity because the internet would be to slow. They say call direct tv to cancel and let them no the issue. I call them and there telling me i have an outstanding balance. Im like i never used the service because att couldn't come and hook it up until 20 after I signed up. I recieved the direct tv boxes on the 8th of dec. They send a bill for service on the 15th. I told them Im not paying anything for a service i didn't use. So now i have a 180 balance for unused boxes.
Years ago I switched to DirecTV from Charter because Charter's customer service was known to be the worst--and, sure enough, DirecTV's was an improvement. Then ATT acquired DirecTV and the service went rapidly downhill. The latest incident followed the failure of my satellite receiver to continue working. I had to speak to five (5) different people and spend (actually) hours on the phone before it seemed I was looking at a resolution--but it was not to be. I was given a four-hour window for a tech to arrive with a replacement receiver, and half an hour before the end of the window I called to confirm and was told the technician was "on the way." But the tech never arrived and now a day-and-a-half later I have yet to hear from anybody at the company.
UPDATE: Today in arranging the cancellation of this account, The DirecTV rep told me someone did keep my 8am to noon appointment--but at 3pm (when I was no longer there)! No reason for the delay was given.
Aside from Fox and local channels no longer being in my line up I've received automatic extra monthly charges for a protection plan that I previously called to have removed from my account. To add this again is no different than theft, ridiculous when at this point I should be receiving a partial credit for channels they promised to provide when I signed up/contracted to use their service. Sadly, at this point we may pay to get out of the contract and go back to Comcast…
There should be a requirement holding these companies accountable for making additions/changes to your service without customer service, whether on autopay or not. It's unfortunate that they can get away with that. Also, when signing up for service based on channel line up, when the channel line up changes the customer should have the option to leave the contract as the provider hasn't held up to their side of the deal. This is not right….I would 100% not recommend Direct TV to someone searching plan options. I thought this was an upgrade from Xfinity (which we had for around 10 years at our last house) though unfortunately it is not.
I was told when I first purchased this direct tv I had a two year contract with a set price. When close to the end of the first year I called to make sure the price would be the same I was told the price would be the same the next month I got my bill it was doubled I called and they wouldn't lower my bill after explaining what happened. So I cancelled cable end up paying double for the next month the following month they sent me a bill for canceling before me my contract was over for 255$. It was the worse experience I had with a cable company. I would never get any of there products ever again. For anybody looking to try this direct tv I would say don't worse experience ever and they lie. DONT GET IT
We have now just lost local channels due to DirecTV forcing the little guy out no more local news local weather leaving us in the dark about her own state in our own City shame on you DirecTV looking for another cable company to go to going to drop DirecTV this is not the first time they've done it we've had enough
Called to cancel service that had not been working for months. Damien told me how to return equipment and said the bill would -0- out. Checked account a few days later after returning equipment the next day and still looked as if I had service. Spoke to a script reader named Onyx that seemed to get confused and was acting like I was attempting to get service. He finally told me I had to pay the bill for the service in October even though I had canceled 9/25. He gets a Loyalty Dept rep on the phone, Siera, who just reiterated the fact that I had to pay the amount and I wasn't supposed to have returned the equipment until after the billing cycle. What in the actual hell?
So... I will have to pay a bill for a month that I do not have service nor equipment and still not have any assurance that I will not have a bill the following month. What a complete joke this company is!
DIRECTV used to be number one in customer satisfaction year after year after year. Set AT&T has bought them out their customer service is horrible. I have a broken receiver, and I'm not able to watch TV in my family room and I am downright pissed off because they can't give me an answer when they will be out to replace my broken receiver. They send all their calls overseas, and people can barely understand English and it's hard to understand someone from Pakistan or India. Being in business myself, if I treated my customers, the way DIRECTV has been treating me I would be out of business. I hope some of the people at the top of this organization will read my review and learn from their mistakes before it's too late and DIRECTV is gone forever.
So, here is where we are. Over a month now of promises saying they would put my mother's money back into her account. No, it still isn't in. But, a lady calls her once a week "from the office of the president," for the past 4 weeks to harass her about it. They say, well check to see why it isn't in. But never do a thing. They are basically waiting to see if I stop putting out reviews, so they can move along, so they don't have to pay my mom. This is a horrible, high school mentality they are choosing to take. Her account is overdrawn, on fixed income, on welfare, hud and they destroyed her Thanksgiving. Even called her the day after just to harass her. She never hangs up on anyone, but she did on this lady the other day. This kills me they got her to this point! O, and the call she receives once a week to harass her, is from "The Office of The President".lol. **See attachment** I'll be back with more reviews of DirectTV I'm sure with the way this company runs their 3rd world.ship! My God!
Follow up….They still refused to refund the money. Why? Not sure. They said they would after a check to see if the service was used after the "free trial" but it was deleted 2 days before the trial was up. And they know this. I've been fighting with them for a month. Just don't use DirecTV. Whatever you do….just run…….! It's Horrible what they just did to my 70 year old mother!
Ordered the free week deal. Cancelled my subscription "2 Days" before my deadline was up. Have screenshots to prove it. I never trusted DirectTv after what some family and friends have said. That's why I just went with the free deal, for starters. So, I get a message from my bank saying, "my bank account went into the negative", my phone just got turned off and my bank account, over-drafted. What happened…. DirectTV took my money out, without my permission and even though I cancelled. Ok, so, that's not the fun part. I get in touch with them online and they say that I never cancelled. Even though I have the screen shots? Why? No at DirectTv knows. I even tried to send them the screenshots of me cancelling, but they don't care. So, now, they say, "They can't cancel me online and I have to call an agent." Even though I just explained to them, my phone got turned off. They were very rude and misleading at the least. D. O. N. T do business with DirectTv. They screwed my money, day, and need to find an online streaming service! They are thieves! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

It's been a slow walked Process for Direct TV, but they have manage to hit rock bottom. Now if your a Conservative News Outlet they remove you so their Customers can hear Truth, Go Woke Go Broke, judging from 1 1/2 star Rating they have now and your force to give them at least one star, they have arrived.
After 22 years of loyalty, goodbye DirecTV. Your content is disappearing and your prices keep going up. Now even my local channels have gone dark. You've been replaced with Fubo, FrndlyTV, and a Tablo receiver. You ruined my Bellsouth landline and I replaced you with Ooma, now you've ruined the best TV provider. My cell phone account with you is next. Thank goodness You ARE NOT my internet provider. Good riddance!
I was with DirecTV for over 35 years at the end of that period my bill was almost $200 a month including internet, no pay stations no pay-per-view just regular TV and internet. They keep telling you your promotions are running out and there is no promotions available at this time we had a bad windstorm I ended up leaving them. Now I have T-Mobile internet at $50 a month locked in for life and I am streaming on TV I have more stations now than I did with direct.
They bait you in with "deals and offers" and then hit you with a bill three times as much! Be better off using an antenna or internet for tv service its a lot less expensive!
Most of what you record is hard to playback with blank screen and slow response. You can't see what you are fast forwarding, just a 15 sec or faster jump to further into the show
I am paying almost $200.00 for a service that I can't watch. Direct TV is trying to charge me extra to fix a service that I'm paying almost $200.00 for, and it keeps freezing. Horrible customer service, CANCEL DIRECT TV NOW!
We have since been calling for THREE WEEKS because we cannot log into our account online or into the app. We cannot see our billing or account information nor watch tv since we mostly use the service on our phones/iPads. We have called 12 times for assistance and help. We have reset our password and deleted and reinstalled the app. Today we were told this is a KNOWN issue with NO solution. Our 15 years of loyalty meant nothing when we were transferred to the loyalty department because they said there was nothing they could do about it. We have never missed a payment and pay for premium services. How can a company not have working services and still charge us? This is RIDICULOUS.
This company was once the best operation out there,but eliminating channels is a very bad mistake. If they need to eliminate channels eliminate the ones no one watches,by getting rid of FOX 23 is going to put the company in bankruptcy.When you can't watch the SUPERBOWL OR THE DAYTONA 500 ITS OVER!
Do not fall for any Direct TV promotion you will be sorry. Direct TV spends an enormous amount of time and money on promotions which end up being a complete misrepresentation.
After a TWO HOUR phone call, following three other lengthy calls and being bounced back and forth still no resolution to the issue that DTV caused. It us frustrating trying to deal with people that aren't fluent in English and I fond the fake americanized names they give patronizing and offensive. Shame on ATT for such low level service. Cancelling tv and cell.

Answer: It is a scam 100%. Just read the reviews. You don't realize it until they got your money and you need something! They are holding peoples money from them that doesn't belong to them. They may even tell you you'll get it back. Just keep waiting, you wont. Then you have to call back and go through the entire process again. I'm on 6 weeks now/Overdraft fees/No Thanksgiving/ and I have photo proof I cancelled 2 days before my free trial was up. They just didn't want me to cancel! Lol. They do things different here. You have been WARNED my friends!
