First, only use a satellite service only when you don't have any other choice, it's terrible during bad weather.
Next, DIRECTV plans can never be broken even for 95 year old veterans who no longer needs television service. I've tried to call and explain his situation but DIRECTV doesn't care about their customers, only money for there spotty product.
Dump these cons. I got tired of all the bs. I canceled Directv service. I got around 5 emails saying I was due a refund. I called and spoke to a really rude guy that said he was processing my refund. Then he got more rude said some cuss words saying he wasn't giving me me cuss words money back then he hung up. I called back right after and reported the guy and they also said they see where I'm due the refund and that they would get it sent out to me and have a supervisor call me. Months later no call back or check in the mail. Called tonight they said some bs of why I'm not due a refund. I have at least 5 emails from them saying different. They said they would get a supervisor to call me back after being on hold forever I told then no ill wait. Next think I know I get a recording saying they would call me back knowing they won't. Dump them while you are ahead. Directv sucks and will rip you off. See there raitings for yourself.
Please don't fall for using DirecTV, the agents lie and will do anything for the sale. I was told last year when I went to them that I would have access to redzone and sunday ticket. I was also told I could cancel anytime with no penalty. When football season arrived, I had no nfl access and was told it was because I was streaming rather than with a dish. I didnt cancel last year but when it got time for football this year, I called to cancel. I was told I would have to pay the equipment off and owed $200. I told them that I was not told that when I signed up and that the boxes were useless to me. They said, no they are just like any other streaming box and can still be used. I argued for an hour before finally just paying the $200 to get rid of them. They lied when they say the boxes can be used just like ROKU. They are proprietary to Directv and do not work at all. Do not fall for this shady business! Awful experience and this is a condensed version!
Overpriced. Hidden Charges. DIRECTV keeps losing local and popular channels like WTEN, WXXA, FOX. You can't watch popular sporting events or tv shows like that are broadcasting on the channels or watch the local news. I live in a rural area and will have to figure something else out other than Directv.
I was with directv for 15 years I moved to a place that did not allow directv and paid my bill for the month and was told I would get refunded for half the month which has not happened they are trying to tell me now that their service charges are a month behind so I won't get my money back and the customer service people are rude and don't help out mor speak clear English
Funny as I started to read several reviews in light of my not receiving services to view my tv, I noticed several complaints about directv hawking "service plans for those who qualify". When inquiring if all living, breathing customers qualify, I was told only those customers who they haven't any payment issues do. In other words, they figure those are the ones who would have the money to pay for the service. So, if directv doesn't supply the service you already have PAID FOR, you qualify to PAY an additional amount for a "protection plan" which will tell you why your 're not getting services you already PAID FOR. Guess Lily's contract with AT&T is up and she's looking for a big increase!
I had the honor of speaking with Chris today. He was extremely patient and kind and helped Mr out so much with a billing issue and I wasn't sure if I wanted to keep my services with direct tv but after Chris took the time to help me find more channels I wasn't aware I had I'm super happy with everything now. I used to have xfinty and I'm only a month in With direct tv and internet but I'm super thrilled after speaking with Chris. Thank you so much.
This is really upsetting - how dare you tell me what I can watch and what I can't. If other people don't like to know the truth or NewMax, than changed the station, but for you to remove it because you don't like them telling the truth about what is going on, it's my right as a person as an American to watch whatever I choose. I will still watch them -maybe not through Direct Tv- But, I will find a station that will put them on, or watch them through the internet -and Note: I will contact all my friends and family to cancel Direct Tv, since you seem to think you can control me and everyone on what we need to know. About what's going on.
Worst ever - DON'T TRY IT! COnstant problems with reception. Does not work with my Samsung TV. Blurry on all sports. Cuts out and I get the blue spinner waaaayyyy too often. So I tried on Roku and it won't give me all my channels. Cusomer support is USELESS! I could go on and on.
Really, DON'T ever try this crap product!
Directv sent me another bill. Threating me, If I don't pay the cancelation fee... They will steal it from what ever card they have on file... That's terrble. They told me I have or had 90 days to pay it. I will read the fine print before I order anything ever again... Lesson learned...

Directv in their ads say that you get free HD and no additional equipment to buy yet they are charging me $10 extra a month for their HD receiver. I'm sick of this company.
I was worried when AT&T bought DirecTV and sure enough their customer service is IN THE TOILET. We were told we need to wait 9 DAYS for a service appointment! Our bill is close to $200 a month - worse than cable - all for NFL ticket. We kept being told there were no appointments available sooner than 9 days. They could EASILY CREATE appointments if they were willing to pay the techs overtime and they REPEATEDLY IGNORED that point. Oh, and don't trust the call center supervisors who tell you they are going to follow up... because they don't. Directv isn't interested in keeping existing customers, only signing up new ones. Guess they haven't learned the cost of keeping a customer is lower than continually luring in new ones and having them leave.
I moved to a new place and transferred my Direct TV, but they mistakenly note it as cancel and charged me $120 for an extra device!, after calling AT&T more than 15 times, No body could resolve the issue and they gave it to collection agency.
BE CAREFUL DEALING WITH AT&T. Worst Customer service!

My experience happened on 1-30-24. Here it goes… I'm working on a clients house (elderly couple) and today they lost their TV. Which is a big deal for older folks! They came and got me so I made a phone call to help out. After 30 minutes of being on the phone with a woman I could barely understand, she continuously attempted to get me to diagnose the problem. I repeatedly asked her to simply send a technician that knew what they were looking at. My repeated requests were constantly denied! Then to top it off, this woman had the audacity to ask my 89 year old client to get up and do what she had been asking me to do. After hearing all of this (speaker phone), I took my phone back and told the woman, how dare you ask an 89 year old man to walk around and do a technicians job! Shame on her! 28 minutes into the conversation, I was finally able to schedule a tech to come out. I absolutely could not believe the nerve of this person! I would hope that at a minimum, some form of reprimand would be enforced on individuals like this! I pray the conversation was recorded and finds its way to the proper person!
I have been with AT & T for 40 years because I was always treated good and they had great equipment and excellent Customer Support Service. I have (had) Directv, Uverse Internet Service and 6 lines of wireless Service.
Today I fired them and although they have lost an old Loyal Customer and roughly $700/mo of Revenue they most likely will care less. It all started with this new Gemini equipment. It worked terribly and I called them twice with hours of hold time, when they finally suggested that they would send a Technician out to fix the problem I was happy to hear that! But the catch was that I would have to sign up to an Equipment Service Agreement for $9.99/mo. I never heard of carrying a Service Contract to cover the provider equipment!

A Very, Very Disappointed Customer!
I had Directv for well over 15 years and decided to switch to Directv Stream for the convenience and a slightly lower cost. I have now been trying since November to cancel my DIRECTV account and nobody there knows what theu are doing so I now have a past due balance of $900 for service that I haven't had since November 7th and they will not remove this. I have spoken to them for a total of over 11 hours on the phone since November and this is still not resolved. Apparently you can never get out of this service. They will not see a penny of this money for service I have not have in almost 8 months. The worst part is that theu can see on their screen that I have been calling for 6 months to get this cleared up, but they will not do anything about it.
It's been more than 3 months that we lost the Fox local channel that DirecTv is STILL in contract negotiations with Mission Broadcasting to get back on air. We've already missed numerous season football games due to greed on both parties. I filed a complaint with the FCC & received a call from Mayra, with DirecTv, telling me they're working on it. I was told that over 3 months ago. I suggested to the FCC & Mayra to lock both parties in a room with one 16 ounce glass of water for each party, no food & no bathroom facilities & nobody leaves until there's a contract with Fox back on air for everyone impacted by this situation. I have no doubt they'll be able to negotiate a new contract pretty quick. With DirecTv losing NFL Sunday Ticket I would think it would be in their best interest to get this resolved but I didn't get any warm fuzzies speaking with Mayra.

Answer: It is a scam 100%. Just read the reviews. You don't realize it until they got your money and you need something! They are holding peoples money from them that doesn't belong to them. They may even tell you you'll get it back. Just keep waiting, you wont. Then you have to call back and go through the entire process again. I'm on 6 weeks now/Overdraft fees/No Thanksgiving/ and I have photo proof I cancelled 2 days before my free trial was up. They just didn't want me to cancel! Lol. They do things different here. You have been WARNED my friends!
Answer: Doesn't matter since they ignore the discrepancy once they have you under contract. No wonder their rating is so poor!
