Needed spools for the rear of my Z900, and wanted red if possible. The salesman quickly consulted his online inventory, then showed me exactly what I was looking for. Two days later I had them. Simple!
Paid on the 26th, confirmed on the 27th, shipped the 28th, and received on the 3rd. So much for 2 day shipping. Also, it was just thrown in a box and the package came apart. No care was taken, or desire to ship in the time promised.
I had purchased a headset previously which has a radio built in and wanted the same system but couldn't remember the exact name. I had trouble finding the unit on cycle gears website so I went to the manufacturers site, found the product there and then returned to cycle gear to complete the purchase of the desired unit.

Went to the White Plains NY store,I tried a few different helmet brands and settled on Sedici Strada 3. I had the helmet shipped to my house because they didn't have the color I wanted in stock. It took about a week for the helmet to arrive. I haven't had a chance to ride with it yet. Overall I am pleased with the transaction.

I was pretty satisfied with going to shop in the store and found some stuff that I needed. The employees were very nice and helpful. They were knowledgeable in the products sold because they are riders themselves which I appreciate. Products were organized to a point where most people could easily find them. The problem comes when wanting to find specific products though, throughout the gear I found that there's only a handful of different brands to try on for different items and none of them were what I or the others that I brought into the store were looking for. It seemed that only the lower dollar items were stocked in the store and the higher priced (which I was looking for) ones could only be found online. I understand that keeping pricey items out of stores keeps revenue from dipping but some of the riders would be more inclined to buying high dollar items if the could try them on before buying especially since that's our protection when we ride.
Awesome experience. Joe helped us find exactly what we needed and went above and beyond to look for some shields. They didn't have in stock by searching the Internet to see if we could get them.
I ordered fork seals online for my 98 Honda shadow ace they came in sooner they said they would be and had them delivered to my house and they fitted perfectly

Answer: Your local dealership will almost inevitably be superior to CycleGear, in every respect. The reason for that is your local dealership will cease to exist if they don't offer their customers the service, support, and products that they are looking for. You might not find it on the shelf right then, but every dealership has the ability to order in what you want and they will price it fairly, because they know that you can go elsewhere. These internet retailers need to be put out of business, by us. All we have to do is shop locally.
