Buyer BEWARE: ONE STAR only from me.
Precovid, I purchased a Threadripper 3970x with RTX 3090, 64 gigs Ram, with all the bells and whistles you can grab on a $6k computer, even purchased the 3 year extended warranty. I got top of the line at the time, right before covid happened and screwed up the prices to astronomical prices. My $6000 threadripper, (post covid ended at $10,000 for all the same components) stopped working a month after the manufactured year warranty expired. They claim the warranty I purchased was only for labor and shipping, not for any item. Sucks, but fair enough. I wanted to send them my inoperable CPU, and they said they can do nothing for me. I will never buy from them again. BAD customer service. They even scolded me for upgrading an item before the build even took place. WOW. Never cool.
I ordered a custom gaming pc from this site. It was damaged in transit and had to be returned to the sender. Each time I attempted to contact someone, they were dismissive of my concerns as well as rude and condescending. Especially, Steve, their sales manager. I've never experienced this level of hostility from a company. Just asking what the next steps were seemed to offend everyone I spoke with. Additionally, I was hung up on twice. I would definitely pick another website to do business with.
CyberPowerPC sold me a laptop with a defective keyboard and is making me pay the extremely high shipping cost to get a refund on the defective product they sold me.
I read many reviews before I purchased from CyberPower. I was excited to buy a "gaming laptop" and didn't see anything horrible. I'm not an IT expert but I'm pretty knowledgeable. And I'm glad I purchased the return shipping because I've had nothing but problems with the laptop. The first time I received it, new out of the box, it had issues with the keyboard flickering and the wifi adapter, updating drivers did not help. So, I sent it back, their support was standard -hard to understand but solution was provided, and it would have cost an arm and leg if I didn't purchase the return shipping. I received the laptop back 4 weeks later -keyboard and wifi seemed "fixed". 2 months later more issues, and the other issues came back. BSoD, sluggish, wifi adapter issues (still the same). Keep in mind I only had the laptop in my possession for less than 3 months.
The Laptop came with 16gb ram, so I upgraded it to 32- thinking that was the culprit but nope. I've run multiple cmd scans, and checked for loose parts. At this point it's just a heavy paperweight with some laptop functionality. I would recommend staying away from CyberPower if you're looking for anything operational and long lasting.
-Arrived with XMP disabled
-Some components were different than the ones I ordered, namely receiving an ASUS motherboard instead of the Gigabyte one specified in my receipt
-AIO installed in a configuration prone to getting air bubbles stuck in the pump; very noisy and had to replace
-Cheap, cheap case fans. No dampening pads so it sounds like Rattle City up in here
-Unknown "Apevia" brand PSU that started making grinding noises after ~6 months, decided to ultimately buy a new PSU and build the system into a case with better airflow than the weird suffocated Phanteks one I got
-GPU fan curves not configured at all, so the fans are constantly toggling on and off making a clicking noise(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kvr7gWM8fvY)
The only reason I got a prebuilt in the first place was I needed a PC in the Spring of 2020 when it was impossible to get a GPU. I have spent far more time troubleshooting this PC than I would have if I built it myself. That being said, if you're looking to get a new PC, I would tend to recommend building your own. But if you insist on getting a prebuilt, stay far away from Cyberpower.
Just wanna share my experience with these guys.
Ordered a RTX 4090 Tracer VII system on the memorial day sale, total about $2700.
24 hours later, rep emails me they confirm the order and will begin processing.
3 hours after that, I get an email saying they cancelled my order due to their "fraud department," flagging the transaction,
I email back asking for clarification,
No response
Call today,
They wont give any further information, other then I should order using another method, not a credit card (:-O) Now, I have 8 different credit cards, and perfect credit, so this seems a bit strange, but okay, fine.
Conveniently, the price has increased by $150.;-)
No, they won't place the order again on the original pricing. They can't "help" me.
Seems a bit shady to me, like a bait and switch;-)
If the support is this bad before the purchase, I fear what will happen afterwards. Perhaps I should count myself lucky.
Computer came with corrupt motherboard and only response I got from Cyberpower was to bad to sad.
Stay away from these computers at all cost.
Ordered a top of the line PC during the parts shortage when the 30 series cards came out. I don't know if they were overwhelmed or just poorly trained but man... this thing was in bad shape.
Issues:
- 6 month wait time
- HDD not connected
- Broken fan on arrival
- Dying fan after 1 month
- CPU thermal paste sub par
- Protective film still on M.2 thermal pad
- The longest daisy chain of fans I have ever seen
- Missing motherboard hardware
- 3090 died just out of warranty
- Incorrect memory timings
- Terrible customer service (ghosted 3 times then when i was out of warranty they were very fast to reply)
Trash company. Avoid like the plague!
I bought a $3,000 gaming pc from CyberPower and it worked perfectly fine for all of about 2 weeks. Until one day it just would not turn on. I figured it was just the motherboard, but anyways I sent it off for an RMA service, which took about a month in total, and it came back to me in the mail today with an entirely new problem, and my PC still won't even boot up. I had to pay $200 to ship this broken computer I spent $3000 on, just for them to send it back still broken and forcing me to wait another month. They gave me a mousepad for my troubles. Do NOT buy from this company, it is impossible to communicate with them and they do not care about they customers. After $3,200 I would think that they would at the very least TEST the computer before sending it back to me. The funny part is, on my itemized receipt it says the PC was tested, but if that was true they would have known they didn't even fix the issue.
First they included a malfunctioning video card, when I returned it they sent me a replacement that was not the same it only had 1 HDMI out and 3 DVI's my original card and 4 HDMI's which was the expectation as I have multiple monitors. That card failed as well. When I sent it back I included a letter telling them that I needed a multi-HDMI out card, they sent me another of that same card with only 1 HDMI. When I called them on it they told me there was nothing they could do, that since there was nothing specified on my order as long as the specs matched that was all they were responsible for. When I asked about returning the entire PC the wanted to charge me a 15% restocking fee. NEVER AGAIN! Customer server is completely useless, and they are a horrible company. I wish I never bought from them.
Can I give negative stars? I would if I could. I purchased second computer in 4 years. Spent over $5200. Came within few weeks. Okay so far so good then day I received it would turn on but no data to monitor. Called them up and they said it would need to be sent back. First I spoke with a woman who didn't know what she was talking about at all. I then really got fed up when this other guy was a complete unprofessional jerk. And then that is when I decided not to have them fix it (turn around time too long for me) and just refund the product since it never worked, and they have the audacity to make me pay for the shipping cost! The customer service is horrible and the policy of return should have a clause in there that if the damn thing doesn't work out of the box then they take the shipping for a return! They only take the cost of shipping for repair! Problem is they use UPS ground and that's too slow in combination with full turn around time! So horrible experience I will never use them again for any build!
I was so incredibly indecisive when it came to picking a gaming pc, I am now a month in to my new cyberpowerpc and I love it!
Their decent prices don't come without consequences... when I got my pc from them it's started artifacting off the bat and had to replace the graphics which at least they replaced for free. Then just after a year of having it, the motherboard and power supply died so I had to replace that, (warranty up after a year) now still under a year and a half owning it, my graphics card just died... on top of that their wiring job was horrendous making it take forever to replace things like the motherboard. Since buying the pc I've met others who have had similar horror stories. They must purposely buy parts that are compromised or they have the worst QC ever. Either don't make the same mistake as me.
Unboxed a brand new custom PC, connected my monitor and mouse and keyboard…turned it on. Nothing…oh look, NO RAM STICKS INSTALLED. Contacted tech support and they just flat out deny that a system would ship without them. No help at all and no I am stuck spending more money to get RAM otherwise I just spent thousands on a pretty brick. The claim to have QC'd and sent a screenshot, but that screenshot is just as good as they claim my picture of missing RAM is…terrible service. Don't pay for rush building up front, it doesn't exist and you will just have to fight to get that refunded before you wait weeks for the system. Never again.
Games, browsers, and my antivirus software crashes. I requested a video card replace and it wasn't any better. I got more crashes and more blue screens. They sent me a fecal matter wrapped in a pretty case.
I purchased my $5400 pc with over night shipping and receive it before Christmas which is an extra $200. I ordered one with the nvidia 4090 and upon receiving my pc I checked the 4090 plug in to make sure it was plugged in properly. Not only was it not plugged in properly, it had metal tabs sticking out. I called customer support and they said a repair would be needed. I also said i would like a refund on my overnight shipping and receive it before Christmas which was a $200 value. The customer service said "technically you did receive your pc before Christmas". I asked her are you seriously trying to take credit for me getting a broken pc. Her response was "I'll have to ask if you can get one." I didnt receive a $200 refund and was told that my pc repair would be rushed priority. They paid for ground shipping which took 7 days for them to receive. It has been 3 weeks and I still havent heard anything from my order. I canceled the order. It has been 1.5 months and still no pc that works. I had to call customer service 4 times in 10 day. Every time I called i was assured i would receive a email so i could return their remaining parts by the end of the day. Once i finally received my refund it was only for $5200, they kept the shipping and get the pc before Christmas $200 value. This is the absolute worst company I have ever dealt with. Please go somewhere else!
Got the computer and let it warm up to room temp for a couple of hours and fired it up. It ran like it should and everything I ordered was included. They sent it double boxed in the corsair case box and the padding and in a larger box. No damage to the computer at all, not even scratch. This is the second computer I have gotten from them and will buy from them again. I chose an AMD5 processor with a 7900xt GPU. I went AMD5 because it is the start of socket while intel's was the end of theirs and I can get upgrades after the fact. Ran out of money for the 7900 xtx but I only run a 2k monitor and the 7900xt runs all the games at ultimate on 2k.
I've been looking for a good PC now in cyberpower by far is the best it's fast that comes with Windows 11 built in Wi-Fi and it has multicolors
Answer: They sell inferior hardware, and can't seem to diagnose issues without breaking the hardware. It's not a scam in the traditional sense. You'll definitely get something, it just won't be worth the money, and dealing with them isn't worth the stress or time.
Answer: Wanted a custom build machine with two video cards. Few companies do that, and most of those are for the uber gamer which I am not.
Answer: Get ahold of them? Not hard, just a long wait. But them being able to assist you appropriately and in a meaningful way? Not really.
