Be Aware of their Courier Service!
Hi all,
I just recently purchased a nearly £4000 computer from the team at Cyberpower, on the surface the portal and information provided seemed to be smooth and extremely user friendly. I thought this too until the day in which my parcel was to be delivered. I had noticed no tracking information had been provided to me by the company and of course assuming this was quite irregular I decided to give them a call. The customer service team member reassured me my delivery would be with me that day as the website promised, however he did state that DPD was unable to-do my delivery (even though that was the service I paid for). Thinking this was strange I asked who was doing it instead? I was told it was being delivered but he couldn't provide a tracking number, information on when it may be delivered other than no later than 5:30pm and could not even tell me who was actually delivering my parcel. With no other information at hand I sat outside my place of work (my delivery address) for over 5 hours waiting just for it to never arrive (may i might add this is after a second phone call at around 4pm where I was once again promised my parcel would be there on that day. This brings me to today 23/12/2022, where unfortunately I have requested a full refund as still to this day now I have NO IDEA who would even be bringing me my nearly £4000 package or when it may arrive and I don't even have the option to change my delivery address to somewhere i may be to wait instead. Tell me would anyone else here feel comfortable with giving someone £4000 of your money to be told a mystery company who we have no idea what their good handling policies are, Will be delivering your parcel to you at a time we can't tell you and there's a chance it won't even be delivered! Once again I'm very sorry to have to refund and take my business elsewhere but I'm left with no other option. Please all be aware regardless of the money you are spending that you may have your parcel subbed out to a random courier you can't find any info on. To then be told they have no idea when it may come, if anyone is thinking about spending their money with this company be prepared for a severe lack of information from this company regarding deliveries and please if anyone else has had this happen to them please speak out as I am almost terrified to have seen the state of my pc if it had even been delivered due to practices of unknown DPD subbies. I have not taken a single day off this year until now (as I run a business) and this pc was supposed to be my gift to myself for the crazy year we have had, this has basically ruined it for me...
Please be aware that you may be putting your money and trust in a courier and company you cant even get the name for.
Never even received my package
I bought a computer and I kept reaching out to customer service and they didn't help me at all. They gave me "YouTube videos" to watch to try and fix the problems. Then when the YouTube videos didn't help I kept emailing them to figure out the problem and I found out, from a trusted tech, that the power supply died, which was shocking since it had less than a year and probably 5-6 months of use and since I figured that out, I decided to buy a new power supply and just replace theirs, after they refused to send one. And then not even a few weeks afterwards, no exaggeration, literally, 2 weeks after changing the power supply, the driver started acting up and it uninstalled Windows and was also defective. I had to put my own money into buying supplies to fix it. There were multiple issues with the computer itself, they taped a chord to another chord, they had a bunch of cheap parts in the computer, some chords weren't even plugged in. And here's the best part, the computer has only a few months use, and the warranty was a year off, and I was only a month or two off when I asked for a new power supply to be sent. When I asked if they would send a power supply and driver, which I ended up buying both myself, they said, "You're outside the warranty, we can't help you." And even though I explained, that it was clearly defective, (I mean, all these problems wouldn't happen to a normal working good computer) and since I used it for less than a six months time, they said, "Well, we can't help you, sorry. That's your problem now after the warranty period ends. Even if you started emailing a month or two after the warranty expiration date, we still don't cover it or want to replace it." And they seemed well aware that their computers have these issues, they just didn't seem to care. So don't waste your money, because even if your computer starts acting up a few months after warranty, they will try to extend your time so you go outside the warranty date. I ended up just replacing most of their computer parts and then just purchasing another computer entirely. So if you're planning on purchasing from them, just be wary of the complications and be aware that customer service will talk you in circles just so they don't have to help or send you the broken parts.
Cyberpowerpc made me turn to an apple user, after the bad experience I had with them.
I purchased this CyberPowerPC - Gamer Xtreme Desktop - Intel
Core i7-*******F - 16GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce
RTX 3060 Ti - 1TB HDD + 500GB SSD - Black. WHAT A MISTAKE. Bought in January 1-2022 and has been at the Best Buy geek squad technicians table 3 times. We are now in April4-2022. By February the BLUE SCREENING AND CRASHING began. Playing gta 5 crashed so many times I can't count. This was a gift for my son. School work is priority. Live streaming, you tubing with friends, video editing and recording. All the things kids do. I take very good care of things I buy especially when the cost is 1700$. I assumed this pc should be able to handle the load. NO. My son has to put all the settings to its lowest in the hope to be able to play games online with friends. I have brought the system to geek squad 3 times. Each time it takes a week or more before it's returned to us and it's fine for a week then it crashes. I reached out to cyberpower who are only there to replace a faulty part if it is for sure faulty. We'll associates of Best Buy geek squad say best course of action is replacement of entire unite. But that a HOOP that will take at minimum a month. They'd have to ship it to Kentucky from here California. In Kentucky they'd do the same thing Best Buy does which is diagnose and see what's wrong. However if Best Buy already checked and rechecked it, found it ok then I bring it home and it crashes again after a week, what else is needed. Well no one wants to replace a unit if they can bandage it and call it good. Sending it to Kentucky for service is absurd. That policy is more of a hindering affect which will just cause us to take what we get. Pc is again right now at the Best Buy geek squad technicians table being diagnosed and wipes clean. I don't see any good outcome. I PURCHASED THIS SYSTEM SO I WOULD NOT HAVE TO BE HINDERED BY FAULTY PARTS AND SYSTEM CRASHING. AS WELL AS HAVING TO PLAY GAMES ON LOWEST SETTING. DONT BUY THIS PC. SOMETIMES A UNITE IS JUST BAD WHEN THE SAME SYSTEM BOUHHT BY ANOTHER IS GREAT. CYBERPOWER AND BEST BUY SHOULD HONOR THE FACT ITS BEEN IN THEIR TABLE MORE TIME THEN ITS BEEN AT MY HOME. I have multiple videos showing the crashing and is documented. But of course the customer is not always given the respect they deserve ESPECIALLY when I paid for it completely. I'm very disappointed and sad that my son has to go through this as well as myself. Do yourself a favor and buy a better system from a place that will build it for you or will honor your BUSINESS and respect the fact that this particular pc is FAULTY. No one I've reached out to will help. I made a mistake with this system. Now I and my son have to endure this mistake I made. Very sad. Cyberpower is as bad as they say. Your system may work well but not this one.
Buyer beware
Cyberpower gaming pc
TL: DR
Cyberpower seems to almost maliciously under-staff their support personnel to the point that I wonder how they manage anything. Just buy from Costco or something.
I, like many other people, was roped in by Cyberpower's exciting webpage and the many offers they have available on their webpage. While I had heard many mixed review's about Cyberpower, I had the thought "that won't happen to me, it will be fine. It might be a vocal minority." Based on my time with support, it's probably worse beneath the hood then anyone gives credit for.
I purchased an order a month prior on one of their many sales, and was equal parts happy that I finally pulled the trigger, and other parts that I finally just purchased a bloody computer. A month went by, and when I reached out to them, they informed me that they had run out of equipment and had put their stock on back orders for a month. With my background in logistics, I knew that this "1 month" would be easily longer than that.
They kindly offered to switch out the part with a different one, but I wasn't sure what was available to pick. When I asked what the options were, they gave me a objectively worse and cheaper part. I pointed this out, and tried to pick other parts. This problem went on for hours of back and forth as I discovered that other parts were also all missing! When I had no choice but to try and upgrade, Cyberpower required that I pay a 25% upcharge. While I find it reasonable to pay for better parts, I find it unreasonable that they provided no information or other compensation for the mess. I quoted a different price, and then their support went dark. For hours.
Incensed, I finally called their support line. After a brief hold, guess who I manged to get a hold of? The same person who I was emailing and talking to. Now tell me, are the odds more likely that
A. Pure chance led me to be emailing, talking, and eventually getting in phone contact with the same person in a team of people, or
B. There is no one else to talk to. Because that's all there is.
I wouldn't be surprised if that same person also handled logistics and shipping on the side. Wouldn't be my first time.
Suffice to say, we were both just happy to get out of each other's hairs, refund sometime next week, and call it good. But if I had this much trouble with just getting the thing put together, imagine how much worse it could have been if I finally had the product and tried to warranty it? How am I going to get anything of decent quality when there might well be two people building, 2 people shipping, and 1+ 1/2 people running Quality Control? That $20 upcharge on premium warranty or premium wire work aint worth $*** without quality personnel.
As odd as it sounds, have a backup plan for your computer parts. If you are Dead-set on whatever deal it is.
Computer, but returned.
Don't buy from this company. I was a previous customer of this company (bought my first computer with them back in 2009 or so). After putting off buying a new computer for nearly a decade, I decided to purchase my new computer from them again in July 2019 when my original computer stopped working. That was clearly a mistake, as this is not the same company anymore, and not the company I purchased from nearly ten years ago. The customer service that was so good that I encouraged others to consider buying from them was gone.
This time around, I opted to purchase a nearly $4,000 gaming rig (an InWin 915 chassis with a Core i7 CPU, SSD hard drive and Nvidia GeForce 2080 TI video card) and paid for rush shipping. When it arrived, I immediately noticed that it was having issues with the video card (it was showing splotches on the monitor and in Device Manager it was showing an error). I contacted them, expecting them to ship me a replacement video card. Instead, I was told I would have to ship my video card back to them before they would ship me a replacement.
Based on their estimates, it would mean I would be without a computer for over a week and a half (time for the video card to be sent back and a replacement to be sent back). I explained that I could not go without a computer for over a week and a half (I could still use the video card for day to day but not for gaming), and they then offered to have me pay a deposit of $1,200 for them to ship me the replacement without sending back the damaged video card. The deposit requirement made me feel like they were treating me like a potential thief after I just spent $4,000 to purchase a computer from them.
I decided to send the video card back instead of putting the deposit down, because I don't have that amount just laying around. After two weeks, I got the replacement video card and was dismayed to see that they had send me a different version of the 2080 TI card, one with three video connections instead of the one I had gotten with four video connections originally (I have four monitors). I called them again to explain the issue, and was told I could try to send the card back, but that there was no guarantees I would get the one with four video connections.
Faced with the prospect of not having a computer again for another nearly two weeks while I sent this video card back, I let them charge the $1,200 deposit and got the new video card a week later, at which time I received the SAME video card with three video connections. I finally gave up, as this was now the end of August, and it was clear that no one at their company seems to understand how to give good customer service, much less understand how to properly fulfill an order.
So now I'm stuck with a new computer (which is fine), but with a video card that has three connections (I had to purchase another video card so I can use my fourth monitor, which set me back another couple hundred dollars), and a bad taste in my mouth. I will NEVER purchase another product from this company again, as the company is not customer friendly, does not care about the customer at all, and think their customers are all potential thieves. Don't waste your time purchasing anything from this company, buy it elsewhere, and check their reviews before you do.
