If I could put zero stars I would. Ordered an iPad a week ago, after the click and collect option told me it was in stock 40mins away. Waited three days and had no email. Rang customer services after two hours wait on hold, to be told the product was in store and I can collect. Drove 40mins to collect to be told that the product has been lost in transit. The staff were appalling in store, not interested in helping told me I had to wait 14 days for it to be investigated, they said you can have one in store but you will have to pay another £369 I said no problem just refund my money and they wouldn't. As I was told curry's stores are apparently nothing to do with curry's online. But they trade under the same nationwide name? The staff were rude in stall and didn't give two hoots they Just made me drive 40mins to get there. I have now cancelled my order as it was a Christmas Present and ordered it with argos which I can collect the same day.
Hopefully I will receive the refund. They will keep you on hold for hours if they have your money. The frustrating issue is if you call up for on new product on the online chat shop they will answer every time within 2mins just to get the sale and the money. But they have no interest in sorting orders out once they have received the money.
They turned up today with my new washing machine. I'd paid for them to take away the old one and install the new one. They did neither. On phoning they tell me the extras I'd paid for had been rescheduled. For 6 weeks time! So I'm looking at a new maching machine sitting idly in the middle of my kitchen floor.
Traded in a phone online. Original estimate was not honoured because of some made-up defects. When pushed, reasons were changed and new artefacts were produced which were outside their T&Cs. No response from formally complaining. Eventually got some of the difference refunded but the process is still highly unfair. I would be careful trading in anything.
Ordered a scooter /never got it
Currys call center staff totally hopeless
Cannot find stock,cannot replace stock
Cannot help.
Here to help, 45min on phone NO HELP
Dont use DPD
Why do i have to call DPD to find parcel i never lost it & not my job to find it.
So poor it makes me sick
I had bought my elderly mother a new freezer for Xmas paid extra to ensure installation and removal of old product...
The delivery team turned up yesterday (27th as scheduled) and bought in the new product and placed it still packaged and Iin the middle of the kitchen. They the removed the old freezer and went out to the truck... then drove off!
My mother is 76 YEARS OLD. She had around 100 pounds worth of frozen food she wants to put in her new freezer. Currys incase you forgot (Economical Crisis).
I LIVE IN Belgium and arranged help from another family member to be there.
He (my son in law) unpacked the freezer only too find it didn't work, internal draw was broken etc...
My family contacted me in Belgium to tell me there was a problem with the delivery on Sunday.
I called Currys immediately only to be met by a VERY rude customer service girl, who was just not understanding the gravity of the situation.
Bottom line my mother has no freezer
She will lose £100 worth of food (ECONOMIC CRISIS people)
Currys FAILED on every level.
Lost money lost food 7 calls to customer service NO freezer No date for replacement...
Customer service in Durban South Africa who cannot help in ANYWAY to support.
CURRYs please look these situations urgently
UPDATE I had to spend over 4 hours. Seven calls on the phone to customer service in South Africa. It's clear that the UK operations look at ZA customer service as a joke.
My elderly mom has now lost over 100 pounds in food because we trusted Curry's. Guys buying anything online is like playing poker. With Curry's there is NO Vegas experience.
7 calls later and STILL no satisfaction - my mother still has no freezer, a potential promise she will get one.
Currys you outsource your call centers to Durban in South Africa, the young people on this phones have NO life experience, they have no POWER to support us as customers they DO NOT CARE as I was told by a young girl - spoiled food not her problem.
Utter Disgust -
When you order from a retailer it is reasonable they do what they say and what you have paid for. Ordered printer and paid extra for designated day delivery. Came to the day and no printer, after sitting in all day eventually told mid afternoon delivery changed to following day! Are Currys going to reimburse cost of that! No chance. Eventually got through to 'customer service' though had to jump through hoops (tip - ignore the automated prompts for delivery because you get cut off rather than being put through to anyone), she said I would be refunded extra delivery charge (still waiting for email to confirm), she could not give specific day delivery would be made and it was up to courier as they had item - wake up Currys the sale of goods act means my contract is with you NOT the courier. Third order out of four that I've had problems, not first with delivery, had fridge freezer with part missing and they simply referred me to manufacturer to chase up, again wake up Currys the contract is with you not the manufacturer. My advice is find an alternative supplier to Currys, Currys simply don't care.
Update 29 Nov 2022
Item finally delivered around 2pm, top tape part split, had package been dropped? After telephoning complaint yesterday I was offered refund of the 'extra' paid for delivery charge, problem is Currys didn't have the decency to refund the full amount in money - 36% given as a'voucher' for Currys despite me stating I would never shop with Curry again, Currys really are a despicable retailer, total cowboys. Refund the full amount Currys!
Absolute appalling service! I purchased a cooker on 12/11/2022 to be delivered on the 19/11/2022 with recycling and unpacking options. The delivery was an hour late, when they finally arrived, I had to remind them that they needed to unpack it.
Once they had left, I started to get ready to wire the cooker in, to find there was no cable! Oh, and it doesn't matter whether you pay them to install it, you still need to supply the cable! IN WHAT UNIVERSE do you buy an electrical item without a blooming cable!
To make things worse, I then found that the left hand side panel has two large dents to it, where the bottom is no longer aligned! I originally contacted these people online to arrange for an exchange, as requested completing their form and emailing this to them on the same day. I heard nothing from them all week, and being aware that I also had a fridge freezer arriving from them the following Saturday, I decided to call them.
This turned out to be very difficult and being told that I needed to give them the serial number of the product. I did not have this with me as I was at work. So had to call back again and this time, I wasn't even asked for the serial number! I have now cancelled both items and requested a refund. However, I have now been told I will get an email to arrange collection of this offending item, and the refund will take up to 14-days from the date they receive the item back.
So in total, I have spent a lot of money on a cooker, which is no use to anyone, my old cooker was collected on delivery for recycling and so I have had no cooker since the 19/11/2022! I will now need to buy an alternative from a different provider and wait for the refund from these PEOPLE! In the meanwhile, the cancelled Fridge Freezer will take the same time (up to 14-days) to be refunded!
Cheap is not always best, but poor customer service is the utmost worse! My advice, just go to somewhere like John Lewis or even AO.com!
I purchased a 75" TV and sound bar that was free with the TV in the Black Friday deal, the sound bar stopped working after 2 hrs, I took it back for a replacement and the same again. I took that back and wanted to up grade and pay the difference, I was told this is not possible and so the TV and the sound bar had to be collected. This was arranged for Tuesday last week, the truck arrived but could not collect due to no wrapping for the TV, I had explained the packaging had been disposed of originally. So the collection was rescheduled for Saturday just gone, I got a text to confirm, 2.30 - 4.30pm so all good, then I get a call from the driver at 2pm saying he will be with me in 30 minutes, I get the tv and all the bit by the front door to make it easier for the driver. At 4.30pm I tried to call the driver to see if he was lost but no answer. 5pm I get a text to say "Great new your tech in now in stock and will be delivered on Tuesday" I never did get the TV collected! So I have wasted 2 days over this when really a simple sound bar upgrade would of done the trick for me. I have since got a new TV and sound bar from Argos. Lets see what happens on Tuesday 22nd November if the TV gets collected for my refund. Shambles
Currys after sales service absolutely disgusting
Currys after sales service absolutely disgusting. My tv broke down after 7 months, wouldn't replace it with same specification as price had gone up, only offered me my original purchase price plus 10%. Would Still have left me nearly £500 pound out of pocket or I could get a lesser quality tv. Fortunately Samsung is going to exchange for the same specifications tv. Don't be fooled by currys advertising, better off to pay a bit extra and buy from reputable dealers.
5 calls to Currys every call they say they will contact deliveries to return my old tv, each time they haven't done it. Lawyer time I think.
I don't know how they do it! No delivery (twice). No refund as yet, and not a word of explanation or apology! Absolutely Shocking...
Please be awear buying online with currys is a massive risk especially when you have to return the item for a refund constant excuses in regards to payment refund and the dpd they use to collect the item does not show item returned or delivered back to currys so after 30 days still no refund and i will have contact my card issuer NEVER AGAIN!.
UK friends - Please take note!
Do NOT spend your hard earned money at Currys! My 86 year old father's 6 month old television had an operational fault; it was collected for assessment and repair, and returned a week later with a completely smashed screen rendering the tv unfit for purpose. They are claiming that is how it left the property, despite having photographic evidence to the contrary, and will not accept liability and replace the unit with a new one.
This has been going on since the 7th October (nearly a month without his lifeline) and is showing no signs of being resolved, even after lengthy telephone conversations, webchats, sending the evidence through the POST as they cannot be contacted via email, and lodging a formal complaint following their preferred route.
This is disgusting treatment of an elderly, disabled gentleman and I will continue to fight for justice. Spend your money wisely friends, this a company that has been around for years. It seems they have forgotten what customer care really means.
My logic fridge freezer has just stopped working it's not even three years old, the engineer that came out to it said it was very unsafe. The gas was leaking from it and he moved it into my garden because it could have caused my family to have side effects from the fumes. He told me he had never seen anything like it in his career. I was really shocked at the poor quality of the fridge freezer.
Ordered a fridge online for delivery in 1 week. Building does not take deliveries after 5pm so paid extra for delivery between 9 and 1. They gave me a tracking number of 8 on day of delivery. They were round the corner at 3pm doing 7 then decided to go 2miles away doing another delivery. They phoned at 5pm saying they would be late! New delivery 5 weeks ahead. Customer service was just as bad. Had to cancel my order!
Save yourself the trouble or go else where - or pray you wont need them - customer service is not provided. What they have in place is a system to discourage complaints and make it so difficult for you to get 'through' that you give up before even getting in contact. Thereafter it was stalling and lying that took place.
If possible my rating would be O! No customer service at all! And that is if you can get through to them in the first place. Will never buy from them again!
I contacted them to get a replacement for a heat pump dryer (which is still available on their website) for item that had been delivered faulty (dropped or like prior to delivery, dented and internal workings disrupted (sounded like tumbling stones when switched on). Took >14d to 'sort' and that was to their satisfaction not mine. I was given a refund not a replacement item, as value had gone up since purchase. However, I was lied to 3 times during the process by 3 different agents telling me a new machine had been ordered and I would receive notification of delivery within 24hrs, meanwhile they were processing refund. Despite recordings notifying you that all calls are recorded, in final call we were notified they had 'no record' of the conversations or on their notes indicating the machine would be delivered. They are blatantly stalling and lying. Rest of interactions marred by automatic 'sorting' of calls, sending you round in loops, inability of customer service department to talk to their own repair technician and making you act as 'go between'; phone calls ending by you being put on hold and then kicked out or ending with being switched of after more than 10min of 'deliberately annoying music' ('worn' or distorted to point of being 'mental torture'). More than 10! Calls necessary chasing them as they did not proceed as they promised previously. Wasted the better part of a week (>5hrs on phone and loads of stress/frustration) while chasing the issue, only to be given refund and told they were unable to do more about it. THEY HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA or INTENTION OF SERVICE or interest in customer satisfaction. All is geared to minimise losses to themselves and discourage any customers to see their complaint through.
After trying to buy a dishwasher through Curry's recently, I can see why Curry's are getting such bad reviews. Their pricing is OK but if you are looking for a reliable delivery, go elsewhere. Scheduled a delivery for 5 days after purchasing the machine, the first day shown that was available for delivery & installation but after paying for everything, received a text saying that the machine was out of stock and it could only be delivered within the next 14-28 days. This was unacceptable so then went about trying to cancel the order... this took close to 2hrs trying to navigate the site & when I finally found where to cancel was told it should take about 7 days for the refund to get back into my Cr Card... Will never buy from them again
Bought a samsung fridge freezer that turned out to be faulty, contacted currys 5 days after delivery and they point blank refused to exchange saying there is nothing wrong with it even though it make such a horrendous noise (check video that i sent to currys which they tell me is a normal noise) that i have to turn it off when im at home, one customer service agent even told me that I should pay for an engineer to look at it! Absolute joke of a company i will never buy anything from them again!
I wish I could give no stars ~
Happened in Arndale Curry's Manchester.
I bought an Apple Watch (cellular) and I was told by the advisor in store that I don't need a separate sim plan and on that basis I paid £100 more to buy the one where I can send text etc. later my provider told me you actually can't and that I should go back to store and speak with them about the misinformation.
I called them before visiting and the manager Iwona and the advisor who sold me the watch told me "you should've done your research before coming into our store" and that literally broke my heart because we rely on advisors in store when making a purchase.
Then after our heated conversation the manager Iwona called me in store and said we'll give you a refund (after about 2 hours of our phone convo). And when I went in store, they looked off and when I was leaving Iwona told the same advisor to tell me "you're no longer welcomed in this store" and I was baffled. All because I wanted a refund on something I was sold on the basis of misinformation.
I am deeply hurt and this is one of the worst and the only worst experience I've had when shopping. I was a regular Curry's customer and this is how they treated me. Poor management and training of the advisors.
Called the Currys to explain that I needed the items urgently and they were not helpful at all. I'm still not sure if or when I will receive the items
There is no information about the delivery of household appliances to buildings without an elevator. Equipment value £1500, who can afford to lose such a small retail customer.
Answer: They are thieves and take your money and time. Vampires
Answer: They have an automatic sorting process in place that takes several minutes to get through, you then get put on hold. Sometimes kicking you out before call is answered and you have to go through selection again. No direct numbers advertised to get you straight to right department, but they do exist. Ask for them once through to an adviser. It will save you lots of time when you need to chase them again. Music on 'hold' is distorted to annoy and frustrate you - close to mental torture! Advisors are following 'scripts' and are not 'able'/allowed to think for themselves. Be prepared to be put on hold and then kicked off the line. They told me they would order a replacement item 3x it never came. So were blatantly lying to me/stalling meanwhile processing refund. Once refunded they are 'unable' to help you with anything. Or is it unwilling? The whole process seems to be set up to deter you from continuing with your complaint. An issue that should have taken max 10 minutes to sort took 5-6hrs and it was sorted to their satisfaction not mine.
