Yes it is totally free but totally inaccurate. Scores are 30% higher than the scores when you print your credit report from experian, trans union and equity and a mortgage company will not accept credit karma over them.
I check my credit score and there were lots of hard inquires that I am not familiar with. I called all these companies and they told me Credit Karma has been giving false info on people's credit report, call CK to dispute it, but There is no way for me to contact them except e-mail. I want to speak to a live person please! I am very upset!
I have contacted credit karma several times they sent an email to a friend of mine's email address letting him know that he had paid off a loan. When he clicked on the link that was sent to him it was all of my credit information. This is not the first time this has happened see photo attached. Instead of credit karma doing the right thing by a customer, they deactivated my account with no explanation as to who else has seen my credit history. Horrible customer service and recipe for disaster

Experian & Equifax information is more damaging than helpful.
Not every single credit card payment information has been updated; yet the purchases/expenses have. I feel it is intentional to show more than 29% credit usage and thus lower your credit score!
Transunion-try to dispute online and it tells you an error can occurred to call. Transunion wants to charge a membership fee.
Experian-you can still see what they have listed as your credit score for free. They also provide what Equifax's and Transunion's have as a credit score for you.
The only free credit check I've ever seen online. They say that it's just so because the score is estimated rather than a raw credit score, but they let you know about where you stand and how to improve your standing, as well as projecting consequences for missed payments and the like. Pretty good for the average joe who's making some attempt at staying on top of his score.
Credit Karma was on top of things, the alerts notified me someone was making numerous credit inquiries back to back in 4 days. I was traumatized, after I collected my self I went into action obtaining free credit reports and there were 9 fraudulent inquiries pulling my credit score down. It was necessary to place a freeze on all three credit bureaus and fraud alerts to prevent devastating possible fraud. Thank you so very much for monitoring and notifying. Also there is plentiful information educating one on what to do in the case of identity theft, help is definitely provided in detail. I feel you are as my guardian angels. Love and Kisses
If you don't have a clue about your credit report or how to begin improvements, this is a great place to begin. I've been able to resolve some things that were derogatory and get a couple new lines of credit through credit karma. My score has gone up more than 50 points this year. Considering that you can use this service for free, that's amazing.
This used to be a reliable, useful site. Now that it is Intuit Credit Karma, it is nothing but BAD Karma. Just to log in is hit or miss.I used to be able to log in with my saved password without any problem. Now it works sometime and other times it doesn't. It doesn't make sense. They are making changes quite often which are no good if the site is unreliable. I tried to chat about an issue but would need to give all of personal information.short of social security number. Once I get back in again, I will definitely cancel my account.
My advice is stay away. There are other ways to check your credit for free - online banking and many credit cards.
Over the last 10 years we've noticed Credit Karma docks credit ratings in double digit increments then very, very slowly builds them back up in single digit increments even when you consistently pay credit cards off in full each & every month. They don't check balances frequently or consistently like Experian. It appears Credit Karma works to keep credit ratings low so lenders can charge customers more.
Note: Experian doesn't dock credit as severely as Credit Karma.
Finally, there is a totally free credit monitoring agency which allows you to access your credit scores anytime and instantly. They make their money through advertising and offer tempting products ranging from low interest car and house loans to low interest rates on credit cards, some with an introductory rate of 0% interest for a year. Yes, you can migrate your other cards to this no interest 1 year card.
-You can consolidate all your cards on this site so that you can see balances, graphs, and other useful information.
-There are so many features to this free service that I cannot begin to tell you all of them. I urge you to at least visit the site and play around.

Have fun.
Just used their tax site to file my taxes and it was awesome! Simple, quick and easy and it truly was 100% free. My taxes are pretty easy to file, head of household and one W2 form, but it still takes me at least an hour to make sure I've put everything in correctly. With Credit Karma Tax, you may enter your information manually or use the walk through guide. Guess which one I picked, I was done in under 20 minutes! I can't wait til next year!
I got a checking account from credit karma someone did fraud on my account they said they need to look into it ok normal, it was supposed to take 10 days 8 days later they close my account no reason why, say I will get my funds in 5 business days it's been over a month nobody can tell me anything. Don't recommend a checking account from them deposits take almost a week, can get anyone one the phone, only chat and they can't do anything.
I worked my butt off to improve my score, using Credit Karma to keep track. I thought they were for real, since you can track what is in your report account by account. CK had my score at 711 on TU and 710 on EQ. Foolishly applied to refinance my car loan and got rejected with a TU score of 682 according to the lender. Then tried one of those offers that keep coming in the mail from Bank of America. Got turned down with a score of 683. You can't talk to anyone at CK but I would like to hear them tell me and others they are not operating a scam, fronting for those "recommended offers" they post.
I have been using credit karma now for about 4 or 5 years. I love the new checking and savings accounts because it's nice to have an extra account to use for my spending money, and keep track of it easily. My 1st experience with the customer service department, was amazing!
They were polite, I could understand them, and they were fast, and I was not on hold for any time at all. The automated system was quick and easy to respond, and my problem was resolved quickly. I have nothing bad to say about credit karma! I love love, love them!,
Best part: it's FREE, AND EASY!
The best credit site I have seen. And now with both Equifax and Transunion scores updated weekly!
The site has phenomenal tools, graphs, sorting, and multiple views to provide an excellent picture of your credit profile.
The only downside is that the scores are not true FICO but they work well enough for relative comparisons and to get a pretty good idea of your score range.
They also have an alert system for credit report changes which seems to work well but I haven't had much activity so can't really speak to that.
The site is ad and referral supported so you will see many ads for credit related products, as well as links to apply for the same. But they are not that intrusive and do not detract much from the overall site experience.
When the tax preparation failed and I tried to remove it, there was no way to do it. After countless E-mails there seems to be no one there that has any clue as how to remove it. Serious concerns about security. Stay away. Many other web-sites are free. I used two others to verify my returns, both gave the same results.
This was an ok way to monitor credit score, however if you change phone numbers there's no way to access and customer service is an automated email So therefore it's worthless to me and I've looked elsewhere for monitoring
Credit Karma is in the business of selling and getting users to sign up for high interest credit cards and loans. This is how they get paid and make money! Do Not Use You're Credit Karma Credit Score to obtain any kind of credit. They are between 50 and 100 points higher than the 3 major credit bureaus. There scores are all B/S. You have been warned.
Adding a trade line to my report used credit karmas "very good" approval recommendation and was denied. Then Credit Karma sends me a email 2 hours later about how I should get a credit card and the first one was the same card I was denied for 2 hours prior. Credit Karma you're GARBAGE. Erase your app. This should be illegal. Actually I'm going to get the evidence I need. Thank you for prying on peoples hopes to better themselves deny them then ask them to try again within a movie time period.
I signed up for "free" Credit Karma several months ago.
My credit score was ok (over 700), but I had some bills to pay off in order to raise my score to about 800.
Since then, I paid down the balance on those bills, but Credit Karma has no change whatever in my credit score. Their info is nearly months out of date!
Now they try to sell me additional services, but their "free" services are consistently inaccurate, so how can I trust the reliability of their paid services.
Credit Karma? Unreliable, in my experience.
Credit Karma has a rating of 1.8 stars from 188 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Credit Karma most frequently mention customer service, tax return and hard inquiry. Credit Karma ranks 6th among Credit Reports sites.
