Charged $212.43!

Horrible customer service! I paid less than $10 for my first year, then BAM! $212.43 charged and NO REFUND for a service I don't use. Beware!

One person gave a review that Craftsy has contests and never announce winners. I happen to be the winner of their $500 spending spree. I saw my name posted on their blog and a couple of the staff members emailed me to congratulate me. They were sooooo helpful to me and went above and beyond what they needed to do to help me.

As far as ordering from them, I have ordered from them and have been completely satisfied with their service.

I've also purchased many of their classes, some on sale, some not, and I have been happy with almost all of them. There was one class that I know of that had lots of complaints that there wasn't much to it. To the purchasers of that class, Craftsy gave another class of their choice to "make it up" to them.

I can't say enough good things about Craftsy. They are not perfect and there is no way any business can please everyone, but I think they try their best. I say... take negative reviews with a grain of salt. Remember that people who have had a bad experience are more likely to express their feelings than the thousands of people who have good experiences. That's just the way human nature is.

I was looking for an online class that provided interaction with the instructor. I am trying to learn how to knit and I thought Craftsy would be just the thing I needed. Well, it was not. Craftsy is nothing more than videos you pay for. Don't get me wrong, they do give you what they say they will, But they make it sound like it is something different than any free learning video you can find on the web. They claim to have online instructors to help you learn, but I am convinced their online instructors are just videos. They say you can ask questions. And you can,, but the responses are just canned replies. Sometimes they do not reply at all. If you are a brand new, never before knitted person. Keep looking for your solution. Craftsy is not it. Just keep looking at the free videos and you may come upon one that suits your needs. FOR FREE... If you just want to buy videos of a type of craft you are interested in then Craftsy is for you. If you just want to buy knitting supplies then Craftly is for you. If you want to get in touch with other knitters and people selling their wares,, then Craftsy is for you. If you want to actually learn how to do a craft, then save your money and find a free video on your craft, because that is all you will get at Carftsy.

My membership wasn't even expired and I got charged $230 Canadian dollars (I paid $60 last year) and craftsy is refusing to refund me even though my membership from last year is not even expired yet!

I considered joining for the price of less than $3 but you had to agree to auto renewal for $80. After reading reviews I didn't trust this company.

Fraud

Don't sign up fraudulent company for charges and canceling. Tried canceling the day of renewal and was told that charges were nonrefundable.

I have actually had a fairly good history with the company. However, I was recently charged for an annual membership that I don't use. I did sign up for a trial at a discounted rate and ended up unable to use the site because I had a lot going on and no longer had the time available. I set it up as an autopay through PayPal, and I check in on what's coming out periodically. Craftsy was not on that list. Imagine my surprise when I wake up to a $97 charge! I reached out immediately (I had to wait until they were open, so I sent an email) and was sent the same canned message twice. They can't issue a refund because it's against their terms and policies. Then they offered a $100 credit after I'd already explained that I had no time to use their site in the first place. I was given a partial refund, which is unacceptable as I haven't even accessed any of the courses.

I am now working with PayPal and my bank to get the rest of my money back. I am incredibly angry and disappointed with the interactions and will absolutely never use their company again nor will I recommend it. Shocked at the way the company has handled this, but lesson learned.

Our refund policy is that we do not issue refunds once the membership has been renewed. We also do not refund for non-usage. You are able to login to your membership account at any time and cancel the renewal before it charges. We did also send you an email reminder on 07/09/2023 to let you know that your membership would be renewing soon and how to cancel. As stated previously by Sarah, I have approved a one-time courtesy refund of $48.50, Sarah provided the digital store credit, and you have the ability to access your membership benefits until the end of your paid term.

I trust this addresses your refund concerns. Your automatic renewal is turned off and there will be no further charges.

They absolutely do NOT value their customers! I myself am a small business owner, and even though it's not easy to refund (I've actually never had to), I would do so. I understand circumstances arise, needs change, etc. But to punish someone because they overlooked something and be completely unreasonable in addressing or dealing with it is insane. This isn't customer service, they're just wanting to keep your money. The value isn't even there. Save your money and visit Udemy, YouTube (FREE is even better!) or Creativefabrica. All of those offer classes and instruction of much better value than anything I've seen on Craftsy anyhow.
