I don't mind watching advertising for free content, but when the movie audio is off from the video, or the video simply just won't load because "there was an error loading this video", then it is useless. I have a very good connection and plenty of download speed to handle streaming and also have no issues with other streaming providers I use... ie: playstation vue, netflix, youtube, ect. I have also tried several times to use the service with the same results. Needs a lot of work. As I said before in the title, I have not been able to watch a whole movie yet.
Another great surprise! A decent supply of movies and tv shows available. I got a movie to play. Didn't need to log in or register. There's hope that I can get rid of my cable service! I'm gonna keep searching these tv online sites.
The shows are excellent, but I'm very surprised when a Christian organization allows ads where a woman's breast is practically hanging out of her shirt. Very disagreeable.
When it first came out, it played 1 commercial like 3 times in a row. Then it added a couple different ones and it was okay. Now the ads last up to 4 and half minutes... Starting to feel like I'm watching more commercials than shows. When it gets back I almost forget where it left off or it comes back just to play the credits. Less to no ads you'll get your 5 stars
I am addicted. I cannot watch one episode. I have to watch at a minimum three at a time my laughter is so loud it sounds insane. The comics are great at improvisation and we get a glimpse of them as real people. I am just over chemotherapy treatments and this is the best recovery medicine in the world - for whatever "ails" you! Oh yea, the cars are super sexy.
I have been watching crackle ever since sony took it over and I have to say it has much improved. I would have given it a meh awhile ago but now crackle really does deliver fun entertaining content. Because they are owned by sony you do get real hits like Men in black and you don't have to worry about downloading a virus or malware like on other sites that advertise free internet tv and movie downloads. Crackle is really free internet tv and online movies.
They do advertise original content but I haven't really got into any of their original shows. I have watched sports illustrated swimwear models show over and over though at work:)
Give this a try if you are interested in watching movies online for free. Connection speed is great and their video quality is so much better than what those free internet tv websites claim to deliver.
Does Sony have to stick 5 -6 commercials (and long ones at that) in every 5 minutes! It turns a hour and a half movie into 3 hours! If you want to get to bed early, don't bother watching Crackle at night! They need to shorten them and spread them out more (like every 15-20 minutes of the movie) At least the Roku Channel does this! Oh well, I can still watch Netflix and Hulu!( not saying Crackle doesn't have some good flicks, just do a better job with the ads!
Crackle was really good a couple years ago when I first started watching. But in the last few months I have been unable to get past the first commercial before the movie or show just starts over. I just deleted it from all my devices. Do not waste your time downloading this app it will only enrage you when you get involved in the movie. And then they play the exact same commercials at every break
I just wanted to watch an older cartoon on a legit platform, so I start it up, and sometimes it plays just fine, with several commercials, more than you'd see on cable. But at times (those being often) the resolution would drop so bad that there were pixels as big as my thumb, and it all looked like it was hit with a japanese censor mosaic. On a refresh, it would sometimes return to viewable resolution, after having to watch another ad, and then rapidly degrade again. They're either incompetent, or trying to force you to pay.
Tried to watch a movie (Cold Blood) but the show kept being interrupted by a public service ad for having a cell phone free dinner. An actually funny clever ad for not using your phone during dinner time with the family.
The problem is it runs in a loop over & over got so maddening I just gave up. Movie was pretty good what a shame.
If that commercial isn't aired CRACKLE runs another ad over & over again for another Free Movie about college debt. Why an ad for a movie that is listed & free?
A great timely subject & possibly interesting by why run that ad & not any other films or a commercial Sony could actually make money on. Weird so weird, a subtle form of torture making it impossible to bother watching any film.
I am curious what is Sony thinking? More commercials could generate revenue but a public service announcement on a stacked loop? Has Sony abandon the effort & just letting Crackle die but must wait it out to finish a contract they signed? Its no joke its beyond satire.
In May I bought a Sony streaming Blu-ray player. The big reason was the apps. One of which is Crackle. I found the 'service' problematic. Often getting a show or movie to play was a coin toss. While the commercial breaks are typically two minutes. They add a good half hour to the running time of a movie. Because of lag, I had no trouble hitting mute before the commercials started. Never tried fast forward.
For some reason the icon for the app states the service is ending 12/11/2019. The last time this notice appeared, for Hulu, the app became 'unsupported.' Forcing me to cancel the subscription. A second tier broadcast network offers similar content, but I need to record the shows I like. Where Crackle lets me view on demand.
One final puzzle. A commercial I recently saw on Crackle, asks for viewers to take survey. My search led me here.
As I wrote above, don't waste your time downloading or even trying to make an account. With tons of commercials every 10 mins that last up to 2 mins. It's not worth it! I played it on my Xbox one and it kept buffering and skipping so much! It kept cutting off parts of a movie. It was horrible. Thank goodness I didn't pay to have this $#*!.
Was watching a 1:48 movie tonight which stopped and returned to the beginning when there was about 20 minutes left. You can't fast forward and I'm not going to watch an hour over again. Most movies just freeze in the middle. What a waste!
Crackle actually has a few good shows. However, I'm forced to watch the same 2-3 commercials over and over. It's hard to understand why they don't offer a premium service like Hulu. They've $#*! the bed on this one...
Crackle has good quality and is easy to access.
However, they have too many commercials, and they all last too long with no skip ad button.
Advertisements last up to one minute and thirty seconds. If you leave the tab to do something else meanwhile, the advertisement will stop. So in a way, they are forcing you to watch the advertisement. That can be avoided though, but they don't let me use the website in my browser, Opera!
With a user interface designed to be as repellent and frustrating as humanly possible, Crackle is probably single handedly responsible for the sale of more tranquilizers than any other Internet video channel. And if you do manage to unlock the mystery of navigating the service, be prepared to be blown out of your seat by unpredictable and dramatic increases in audio volume as you tune from one menu selection to the next. Crackle designers and engineers have zero regard for your intelligence, your comfort or your desire to visit them again.
Have watched a couple of good movies on Crackle. However, there are too many commercials which are way too long; no option to skip over them after 15 to 30 to 60 seconds; and they are insanely LOUD! Deleted this app once and decided to try it again. Now remember why I deleted it in the first place.
I have had increasing problems in just watching any movie. It will stop within first few min & never work (network error) or I get blocked right out $#*! it I give up I'm wiping this app off never to return.
Here's something to think about is this app put out by the bigger payed apps for tv viewing just to piss us off so much we go & pay for viewing?
Crackle seems to have a list of a lot of movies that I would like to watch but every movie I start ends up with stream error or some other error and either just stops playing. The ads are annoying of course, but many times the movie playback crashes instead. I have been trying for weeks and haven't been able to completely watch a single movie. Good thing it's free or I would be demanding my money back. Crackle, will you please fix this problem? I would gladly pay a little for a movie that can play all the way through!
We've been trying to "activate" for 4 weeks. Their site will never connect with ANY of our devices. Our internet is no speed-breaker but we can connect and stream with the other sites on our ROKU. Crackle is just a tease. We won't try them again.
Answer: No, except the time you spend watching commercials, you decide:-)
Answer: Sorry Love, I don't have any answer for you. I have given up on Crackle and have deleted them from my Smart TV apps. And they have not responded or fixed their site. One would wonder what they do all day to earn their pay? The POPCORN site is even worse - the Movies don't even play at all! Rosalind
Answer: I gave up on crackle. The only program it would let me watch is their own production with jerry steinfeld. All movies and other programs crash, not worth the trouble.
Crackle has a rating of 1.5 stars from 414 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Crackle most frequently mention many commercials, streaming service and watch anything. Crackle ranks 201st among Streaming Movies sites.
