I have tried 4 times, 4 different movies and each time half way through the movies, the app freezes and I always get a message, " oh oh, something went wrong, try again" and to no avail, it never works, so if I reload Crackle and pull the movie up, you can't resume, you have to start over and on top of that you can't fast forward to where you were in the beginning. Complete waste of my time and utter garbage. Don't waste your time too!=
App was extremely frustrating and disappointing. WAY too many commercials and had to reset several times.
But even worse, the app would not allow for the final scenes of the movie to play. Can't wait to delete from my phone!
Why is it that everyone (and their dog) thinks they can develop a streaming app with commercials? Here's another one that fails miserably. Glitchy, slow, lots of buffering, lots of sync problems, just a rip-roaring piece of doo. Only reason I'm using it at all is that it's the only way I can watch the BBC "Sherlock" series. Otherwise, I wouldn't bother.
Does the business commercials paid for to Crackle actually believe that repeating them every 5 minutes will brainwash consumers into buying whatever is shown?
Does Crackle actually wonder why no one wants to peruse their app in that the app is more a app just for commercials rather than programs?
I put a show on that originally aired over 30 years ago, not some new "premium" programming, and these jokes served me literally 6 long adverts, all for reeses peanut butter cups, before Id even gotten thru the intro to the show. Literally 2 minutes in and they served a crazy number of adsverts. Get real. Im not watching this crap.
I could see 1-2 adverts, but 6? Give me a god damn break...
Have never tried Crackle before, never had a reason to but wanted to watch a movie and the only place it was available was on Crackle unless I purchased it. I got about 30 minutes into the movie on Crackle and ended up just buying it so I could watch it without commercials. They are CONSTANT. Seriously, like constant. And long. It literally felt like you watched the movie for about 5 minutes and then got 5 minutes of commercials. On top of that the volume goes up about ten-fold whenever the commercial comes on. I get that it's free... but trust me when I say it isn't worth it at all. This service sucks so bad.
I have had Crackle for about 5 years and have never experienced the problems that some of the reviewers have experienced. I think it's a good streaming service. Have not experienced any kind of glitch or problems with this service. I don't find the ads any worse than most others. I can recommend Crackle.
It's great to have a free option but they play waaaaaay too many commercials. It ruins the suspense of the shows and defeats the purpose of watching a show/movie anyway. The same commercials play over and over making me NOT want to use the services that are being advertised anyway. Oh and at least a third of the commercials are for Crackle itself. Umm, I am already watching you. What are you gaining from interrupting my show to tell me about you other than pissing me off?
I am a sci-fi geek and learned that Salvage Marines could be viewed on the Crackle App. I could hardly bare 1 single episode. The ads were so frequent and long that I couldn't even enjoy the show. There has to be a better way. I refuse to use the App until changes are made.
I have a new Sony TV and Sony's Crackle service is almost unwatchable. The movie pauses, but the sound keeps playing. Alternatively, it just stops, pauses, restarts the movie or shows a streaming error. I have very fast Internet and no issues with any other streaming service. Crackle is without a doubt the worst streaming service ever
6 commercials every 10 minutes, coupled with constant technical problems, With "uh oh, something went wrong, retry" popping up which doesn't work to continue watching.
Every ten minutes are interrupted by four or five commercials which last two to three minutes. This means you watch eight minutes of movie for every set, which don't even have the courtesy to pop up during scene transitions. Often, it's mid sentence of dialog.
I opened a crackle account, but once the account was open i could not access a single movie, search engine always came up with zero results.
I was looking forward experiencing this site.
Sadly they have nothing to offer. There was no help after my questions why I could not find anything or play anything.
Everything I was informed about crackle was a lie.
Never again and avoid crackle.
Crackle is the most horrid crap I have ever experienced! The movies continually start over so it will take 4 hours to look limp through a 1 hour. I would rather pay $50/mo for something worthwhile than deal with this nonsense! Garbage!
Download it just for it to say server error then next day it works but movies are choppy like its a early 1930's film then freezes after 5 mins. Wasted my time downloading and apparently they haven't/won't fix it. Funny part is the advertisement at the beginning was crystal clear
Plain awful. There is no such thing as free. Horrible streaming, movies cut out halfway through and the worst is the constant barrage of commercials, most of which are shown in duplicate or triplicate! Plain annoying, ads are ruining tv. I'm happy to pay Netflix for a pleasant viewing experience.
I watch old sitcoms because they have good entertainment value and humor without the raunchy stuff. If crackle could pick up on what we watch and advertise shows that we may actually watch it would be less offensive to us viewers and more effective in accomplishing their marketing goals. One commercial for a crackle series said "I want to f#@! Your face." I may be frugal, but I will not tolerate such blatant disregard for decency.
Crackle was a channel I'd go to occasionally on roku. When I started streaming Netflix on my smartphone I thought 'y not add crackle to change things up from time to time?' - think again. I start watching movies fine then after the second or third commercial it jumps back to a previous point in the movie. Commercials I'm fine with as that's the deal but y don't they just fix this issue they're clearly aware of as others have complained about it online. Do the advertisers know it's happening? I hope not.
If your goal as an advertiser is to make viewers despise you and your product, then by all means, spend some of your ad budget on Crackle air time. The movie I'm watching seems like it might be okay, but I can't bear to watch the same 2 internet.org ads TWO TIMES EACH during the numerous commercial breaks. I saw 5 minutes of movie between the last two sets of commercials. I turned it off at that point. I don't care how the movie ends. I also feel intense irritation at internet.org.
I don't mind watching advertising for free content, but when the movie audio is off from the video, or the video simply just won't load because "there was an error loading this video", then it is useless. I have a very good connection and plenty of download speed to handle streaming and also have no issues with other streaming providers I use... ie: playstation vue, netflix, youtube, ect. I have also tried several times to use the service with the same results. Needs a lot of work. As I said before in the title, I have not been able to watch a whole movie yet.
Answer: No, except the time you spend watching commercials, you decide:-)
Answer: Sorry Love, I don't have any answer for you. I have given up on Crackle and have deleted them from my Smart TV apps. And they have not responded or fixed their site. One would wonder what they do all day to earn their pay? The POPCORN site is even worse - the Movies don't even play at all! Rosalind
Answer: I gave up on crackle. The only program it would let me watch is their own production with jerry steinfeld. All movies and other programs crash, not worth the trouble.
