Crackle is putting out commercials that are way too loud, based on the insane idea that people will buy from loud ads, instead, i change chanels. And watch pluto tv

I would be more forgiving of the awful service Crackle provides if this was a start up company, new to entertainment or streaming video, but this is Sony Entertainment. They have both the ability and financial chops to hire a team which knows how to write Android apps. Many, including myself, have contacted Crackle on more than one occasion about the defects in their app. The best they can tell me is "we can't offer a solution at this time" or "you'll have to wait for the update". The app, after several "commercial breaks", almost always goes to the beginning of the movie or show and starts over again. Trying to navigate with the slide bar doesn't work. Sometimes, the video and audio get completely out of synch. Definitely don't try watching "Groundhog Day" with this app, as you could end up in a loop where you never finish the movie. In one case, a 120 minute movie I tried to watch repeated so many segments, after about 3 hours, I gave up and never did see how it ended.

And let's speak about the ads. More often than not, the same 15-30 second ad will run 3-4 times in a row during the same break, and then it will be repeated for each ad break, meaning you will see the same ad 40-60 times during a full length movie. It's either torture or brainwashing, or both, and I can guarantee the sponsor I will NEVER buy their product or go to their movie after that.

It's a darn good thing Crackle is a free service (not that I consider the time waster it is "free"), because as it currently stands (and its been like this for months) it is certainly pretty much worthless.

The movie will never resume after first series of commercials that occur about 15 minutes into ever movie. Crackle will always hang after the commercials then go to the play/resume/watch more videos screen. If you select "resume," the same commercial will play again taking you right back to the play/resume/watch more videos screen. Never can you get past 15 minutes of the movie on Crackle.

I have read hundreds of complaints on many other websites about the same issue occurring to numerous other people. Other people have stated it occurs with their Roku's, Play Station, Sony Smart TV, etc. Personally I a have been trying with two different Samsung Smart TV's a 32" and 48" H-5500 series, and NEVER have been able to watch a full movie because Crackle always hangs after the first series of commercials which occurs about 15 minutes into movies.

Considering I have read numerous reviews online at multiple websites that go all the way back to 2011 by many people having the same exact problem with diverse types of devices it appears Crackle could care less if they have customers or go bankrupt.

I can not Express my distance for commercials while watching movies. The "well timed" cuts that are made are intrusive, always unwanted, and for me I lose interest when every 5 minutes the movie is interrupted by some dumb ad selling some dumb crap I dont need or want. This is why once I found streaming, I got rid of my cable TV provider and now save a crap load of money and dont have to watch stupid ads. Win, right!? I thought until Sony Crackle happened to have a movie I wanted to see, and my 4g roku tv happened to have Sony Crackle the stars must be aligned! Then, just as I was getting into the movie Some idiot that has no business editing or cutting for that matter cut for commercial right in the middle of a good scene. I figured ok one ad isnt bad, then there was another, and another, just like trying to watch a movie on local television. It got so bad that all interst has been lost in my movie I wanted to watch, and decided to tell y'all dont bother nothing but ads, and frustration can be found on Sony's Cracked streaming ap. The details say the ap is free, yeah free if you don't value your time. If Sony Crackle were a piece of paper I would wad it up set that on fire and burn the idea. Good job ruining streaming Sony you losers.

Ok I know it's a free app so I won't start off $#*!ing solely on the amount of commercials they play. That being said, I would not mind sitting through 4+ minutes of commercials if they didn't jack the volume of said commercials up to 3 or 4 times that of the actual movie I'm watching. Trying to watch a movie before you fall asleep? Yeah, don't even bother with this app, it will blow you're $#*!ing eardrums and that's barely an over exaggeration. Now back to length of commercials... I get it it's free and you have to get income somewhere, but over 4 minutes of commercials for each round of commercials during a sup-par (at best, and that's being very generous) movie is absolutely ridiculous. I'm writing this review as I watch this movienoj crackle that will be my last movie from this service. I will gladly pay the Netflix fee for decent and above movies and avoid the house shaking commercials. Now for the subtle jab I've been waiting for: this is what Microsoft get a for allowing a sony service. This service is garbage, you're better off paying for a service that actually gives you a halfway decent product because everything crackle offers is not worth the putting yourself through the advertisement volume and length.

Crackle is by far the worst free movie service I have ever used on the PS3. Overlooking the constant repeating and annoying advertisements all together due to necessity for a free service.

The frequent random drops in quality are so sever that you can barely make out the faces, and the lack of setting means restarting the movie is the only way to get back to standard quality.

On top of that it tends to sign you out CONSTANTLY, in both the menus and during a movie (Causing it to exit to the menu) Forget this free app, they couldn't pay me to continue using it.
