Crackle

Between the video corruption, tearing, and desync, and the unrecoverable playback errors, Crackle is worse than useless. I tried on Chrome and Firefox, on a hardwired connection to Comcast with a 500MB download speed test.

Whatever you are watching, find it somewhere else or buy it off of Amazon.

So, I'm watching the fifth episode of the second season of Hell's Kitchen. I pause it to go hop in the shower. Next thing you know, after I got out of the shower, the video unpauses by itself after being paused for too long. I had to rewind the damn video all the way to where I paused at. Don't ever use the app unless you want the video to unpause while you are not around. Not to mention that this app has so many ads playing in the middle of the program (sometimes it would even play the same ones at least three times).

The content is good but the commercials are so intrusive, badly timed and relentlessly repetitive that the viewing experience is a mind numbing experience. Frequently there is 6-7 minutes of content followed by almost 4 minutes of commercials repeating the same commercial back to back and over and over and over again the same commercials.
They should follow the Plex or Playon models. This is not a viable broadcast in its current format.

Seemed okay at first, I would still rank NetFlix, RedBox, other sources of movies much higher. Ads are annoying. Sony owns this, why ads? Out of the blue, I am getting "Service cannot be accessed at this time because server replied invalid information" errors. This makes no sense and there appears to be nothing I can do about. Another wasted app on my POS Sony BlueRay Player (BTW, definitely check out the LG BlueRay - don't go with Sony).

Crackle has a good way to find the British content I was looking for but really - muting isn't enough. They show the same commercials over, and over, and over. Then if you try to go back a little because you missed something, it snaps back to start a series of commercials all over again. Tubi, you can't find anything on and there are no descriptions or categories detailed enough to help, but if you can find what you want by title then the viewing and ad experience is far superior. Tubi treats you like a human being. No human being could tolerate Crackle's viewing experience for long. You really have to be committed to the content you are watching or you are suicide material before long. I promise you one thing. I will NEVER GET A CAR LOAN THROUGH CAPITOL ONE or anything else from them for that matter. Any company hiring whoever brought the ad agency in to do that commercial and then approved it isn't smart enough to manage my money or my loans.

This is a virtual monster that is out of control. I did not authorize this, but it came anyway, somehow, some way. I was skyped into a business meeting across the country, and, all of a sudden this monster appeared and interruped a large meeting with its marketing garbage. I was infuriated, and called the company in Culver City, CA, and asked for support in taking this off my system. It is a blatent and unauthorized attack on my privacy. Their Privacy Policy statement is a fraud. The marketing overrides what you have and interjects both audio and video to disrupt your privacy. The company was supposed to call me back and never did. Stay away from this fraud!

I was all excited to finally watch something for FREE. When it started with a commercial, I wasn't mad. I was 10mins into a horror film when it went to a commercial (again) yet I still wasn't mad because I thought it would be just ONE. NOPE! I had 6 or 7 commercials before it resumed! I continued to watch (more annoyed) and it goes to commercial after ANOTHER 10mins. It played a Men's Dove commercial THREE times in a row! If you choose to watch any movies, don't pick horror/suspense because it ruins the movie! Not sure how an app like this stays in business or how people can enjoy it!

Same problem as other reviews, movie will never resume after first commercial and if exited and resumed commercials are played again and still no movie! In the past 6 months, I have managed to complete 1 full movie, 1 got to 80%, the other 18 attempts do not go past 1st commercial. WORST EVER! Just in case it matters, I am using a ROKU 2 XS with Comcast's Blast Plus 50 Mbps (avg speeds vary from 20-75). Hulu Plus and all other channels do not have this issue.

I canceled cable tv because of too many advertisements and not enough choice on what they play and also they repeat the shows so often and mostly play old movies. I tried crackle.com and lo' and behold... advertisement forced on us every 7 or so minutes and they do not even break into the show a reasonable manner. It's downright offensive and angering to suddenly have the show stop. I muted the tv every time but still it's horrible. I have tried to remove my account but apparently they only allow deactivating the account. Apparently they will keep your info indefinitely, forever... whatever. :( I am highly disgusted with this site and will stick with sites like netflix and hulu. It's not only crackle that is keeping the info of the accounts but 3rd party unknown and untrusted companies are as well. I give this site 100,000 thumbs down.

Lots of great old shows, like "Seinfeld" and "I Dream of Jeanie"; older films like "Ghostbusters" and "The Net"; newer shows made just for Crackle, like "Chosen"--all for free. Sure, there are a couple quick 30 second commercial breaks, but the commercials are often for other shows on Crackle. The films are full feature length and commercial-free. I've watched about a dozen movies and hours of TV shows with no problems. I'm watching Crackle using the Crackle app for PS4.
