I am a nurse practitioner in primary care and I regularly use and recommend this website to my patients who are interested in supplements. I find the site to be reputable and reliable. It's also recommended to consumers in a 2004 NIH article: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC*******/
I have been a CL member for many years. Before I buy any product I check CL's site for information. This is such a valuable and reliable resource! I appreciate the unbiased evaluations and the volume of content. I just wishe CL was a news agency!
Thank you for that nice review, Markus. We're glad that you appreciate our work.
I have been using ConsumerLab.com for several years now and I am satisfied with the level of thoroughness that the website exibits. It's well annoted, indexed, and reflects good, scientific analyses based on the scientific journal articles.
We're glad to hear that ConsumerLab.com is helpful to you. Thank you for your feedback!
Consumer Labs has been a good resource for information about OTC drugs. Before I buy any brand, I always check Consumer Labs for their recommendations. They thoroughly check the products for safety, list their findings, and I like that. Then I can feel confident I am buying a safe product.
Thanks for letting us know, Steve. That's exactly why we are here.
Always has been my go to for reviews of cost and purity of supplements and vitamins I was interested in. With the supplements I am now taking because of the Covid19 pandemic they have been a great resource.
We are glad that we're helpful to you, Richard, particuarly during the pandemic. Thanks for letting us know.
In light of all the spin, misinformation and bs I'm bombarded with on commercials all day, everyday, I'm secure in the fact, I have a place
Like ConsumerLab, I can go to and get the facts. No biased opinions, no blown out of proportions claims, just the educated truth backed up by
Studies and test trials. Been a member for years and have NO plans to quit.
Thanks for letting us know, Bob. That's exactly why we are here.
Generally, I'm very happy with ConsumerLab, however, often, there's more data than I can absorb but all the data that's provided makes a good reference when needed, plus there are some vitamin supplement suppliers that are not represented.
We're glad to have you as a member, Henry! Thanks for your review. You can always feel free to shoot us suggestions for more products
I do believe in taking some supplements for good health and I really count on consumer lab to test them so I know what I do use I'm using safely. I really do trust them and I find their articles very informative.
Thank you for that nice feedback, Toni!
I've always been impressed with all the products that you test.
Thank you for your kind words! We're delighted to hear that you’re impressed with our work. At ConsumerLab, we’re committed to rigorous testing and high standards to ensure our members have access to reliable information. Your feedback means a lot to us, and we’re honored to support you in making informed choices about your health.
Testing/reporting of safety and stated content of supplements is very important. I'm not aware of any other source of this information. Also, the reporting of litigation of worthless supplements (Previgen) is to be commended. Perhaps this service could be expanded to include requesting and reporting of nutritional content facts (% daily value) from makers of highly advertised products like Balance of Nature, who, apparently are not required to indicate this. Your reporting of the results of studies is also of great value.
Thank you for your very nice review of ConsumerLab.com and for suggesting an area of investigation.
I found consumer lab to be very boring in an informative and so I cancelled. Representative told me that I would have to be charged $30 for the first report it only got back $14 and change for canceling after 5 months which is ridiculous
Consumer lab AKA dr. Cooperman is not very reputable and I would not suggest you join consumerlab anytime soon
I NEVER use any supplements that ConsumerLab hasn't tested and until I read their very thorough reviews of the pertinent literature. Thanks to CL, I have been able to fine tune my supplement regimen to include only those from which I am convinced that I will derive benefit. I have recommended their site to my physician and to friends. My subscription is some of the best money I've ever spent.
We're glad that you enjoy ConsumerLab.com. Thank you for posting your comments.
Standing in front of the tuna section in the grocery store, a good portion of what one sees is standard basic lower cost tuna: Starkist, Bumble Bee, store brands, etc. One would never know that reading Consumer Lab's tuna reviews. A couple of years ago the tuna review was all "upscale" versions, i. E., albacore, white tuna and more specialty versions. I wrote in and raised this, and got an insulting reply: the rep couldn't distinguish between the regular version and the reviewed version of one brand I mentioned. So I guess my message never got through, as the review a couple of weeks ago is very much the same. The strange thing is this type of "yuppie" review is not typical of ConsumerLab.
Prior to testing canned fish, we surveyed our readers for suggestions and we purchased the products that were most popular with them. Many of these are the very same, nationally popular brands you mention below, such as Bumble Bee, Starkist, Kirkland, so we are a bit confused by our belief that those brands were not included. By the way, we are now about to test additional products that have been suggested, including canned sardines and tuna in pouches.
I always check CL before making ANY purchases of healthcare supplements and products because there are just too many products out there and knowing which ones to trust is impossible without CL's reviews. I only wish there were more Canadian products covered in the reviews but it has been slowly improving over the years.
Thank you for that nice feedback, Tanis!
Have found often helpful information about products I eat daily, and about multivitamins. I am very thankful for this. Now I am sure I eat the right chocolate, have the right oats, the right fish-oil capsules and that also for a cheap price! Really useful! Also I get advice on many topics that are helpful for me.
I have found Consumer Lab to be more and more useful. The testing of food products has been very helpful and resulted in my switching brands for canned fish products, oatmeal, chocolate, etc. (Note: Would you consider adding mackerel to your canned fish testing?)
I have also been using the website for COVID-19 information, especially the reviews of effective masks.
I am not a scientist so I am glad to have Consumer Lab to refer to. You do the science for me! Thank you for all the work you do to keep us informed and safe.
Thanks for your review, Pam. We are very glad to be helpful to you in the ways you describe. We will keep mackerel in mind for possible testing.
I love reading your encyclopedia articles on the effects of all herbs and chemicals but you should have more, as information accumulates about old products. And there should be more articles on things that come on the market. Sometimes there is no information on things I look up. For example, "petasins" was one thing I could not find. Just look through a catalog of a company like "Swanson's" to seewhat couldbe reported on.
Thanks for letting us know, Patrick. That's exactly why we are here.
I am incredibly disappointed by the quality and lack of variety of information that I discovered after I subscribed for CL's membership earlier today. I was looking to get a recommendation for a prenatal vitamin and discovered the following:
1) The prenatal research that was done and published on your website compares only 3 multivitamin options
2) The only recommended option is a strange brand which is not sold in any mainstream stores
3) The recommended product is terribly reviewed across other independent sources and several customers have stated recently that this product arrived moldy
I was completely willing to pay for a year of subscription for useful and helpful information that would drive better decisions. Unfortunately, I cannot say anything from your site was helpful in regards to prenatal vitamins.
ConsumerLabs is my go-to site for information about vitamins, minerals, and supplements. It's robust in information, easy to navigate, and gives me much more confidence in deciding what to take and what not to take.
Thank you for that nice feedback, Loring!
Reading CL I have learned to choose my supplements based on information I believe to be correct. I have not had any bad experiences with the supplements I have chosen, based on CL's research. The subscription price is worth the valuable information I have learned.
Thank you for that nice review, Louis. We're glad that you appreciate our work. Thanks for your support.

Answer: There is no single best supplement or brand. It's best to focus on the type of supplement you are looking for, e.g., multivitamin, fish oil, probiotic, herbal) and read our Product Review for that specific category and see which product is our Top Pick for that category. Here is a list of our current reports: https://www.consumerlab.com/results/
Answer: Yes, we recently published a new report on turmeric and curcumin supplements as well as turmeric spice (ground root powders) at https://www.consumerlab.com/reviews/turmeric-curcumin-supplements-spice-review/turmeric/
