I needed help with opening my subcription to ConsumerLab. I e-mailed them for help and quickly got responses which enabled me to open my subscription. I thought my subscription had expired and that's why I couldn't open it, but I was wrong. Now I not only get excellent information from them, but I am very pleased with the service when I request assistance.
I appreciate the information I get, but am puzzled at some omissions. I've requested twice that Turmeric Forte from Standard Process be reviewed, since it is getting such extravagant claims from Dr. Bruce West and many others. You have reviewed seven Standard Process supplements, so I can't understand your failure to review such a widely publicized supplement and it makes me concerned that there's something wrong with it and you are protecting Standard Process bcs you have a client relationship with them, or else that you may be failing to review another SP product to try to push them into a client relationship. I've also requested that you review purported stem cell enhancers, such as Stemtech's Stem Release, and am hoping that you will do that in the future..
As the titile suggests Consumer Labs provides a valuable service. In fact I suggested to your competitor? Consumer Reports that they should refer to your service rather than referring the the FDA which provides questionable information.
ConsumerLab provides to supplement users precisely what is needed. The product reviews and additional information have proved invaluable to me. As an example, CL rated the NOW's Red Yeast Rice as barely containing any red yeast rice statins. I had wondered why my cholesterol numbers hadn't declined with its use. I switched to Cholestene's RYR product and saw dramatic results. Not surprisingly, CL rated this product as providing more than the amount listed on the label per serving. I'm not promoting Cholestene, but rather promoting the test results from CL and how they benefitted me.
I depend on CL as a dependable reference when choosing vitamins or sourcing some health information. I would very much appreciate a review of Canadian vitamins and Thyrovanz and other OTC desiccated thyroid options especially now that I may have difficulty accessing the rx desiccated thyroid I use. Post thyroidectomy.
We're glad that you are enjoying your membership to ConsumerLab. Thanks for letting us know.
I use ConsumerLab whenever I am looking for information on supplements. Not only are the testing results invaluable, ConsumerLab also provides information based on studies so I can decide if I want to take a supplement.
Thank you for that nice feedback, Paul!
There are so many brands all advertising their benefits. ConsumerLab gives reviews and detailed information that allow us to pick what is right for us.
Thank you for that nice feedback, Sally!
I use your recommendations when possible. However many times the brands that are available to me are not tested. Wish you could test more or each thing.
We're glad that you enjoy ConsumerLab.com. Thank you for posting your comments.
Generally very good experience - I have been a member for about 10 years. The information is sound and scientific. I often recommend their services to friends.
Thank you very much for sharing that, Chris. We are very glad that you appreciate the work we are doing. We appreciate your support.
This is my go to web site when I want in-depth information about supplements and health products. I have been relying on their reviews for several years now.
Thank you for that nice review, Tisher. We're glad that you appreciate our work. Thanks for your support.
Consumer Labs allows you to avoid taking supplements containing contaminants and know how effective the supplements are based on scientific research if any has been done.
Thank you for that nice review, Carmen. We're glad that you appreciate our work. Thanks for your support.
Important information that is accurate, unbiased, continuously updated and comprehensive. If you care about the physical health of your body, ConsumerLab is a "have to have."
We are glad to know that you appreciate our work. Thank you!
It seems like when I want to know something, CL can almost read my questions and have very timely studies. The studies help me make good decisions for healthier living.
As a family physician who often recommends natural medications (herbs, vitamins, or supplements) for conditions in which they have been shown to be both safe and effective, I simply could NOT practice nearly as well without this indispensable resource. It's one thing to tell someone to take vitamin D, but it's quite another to hand them a list of ConsumerLab's "Top Picks" which are not only "Approved" as safe but are the best values on the market. BRAVO, CL. Keep up the GREAT work!
Thank you very much for sharing that, Walt. We are very glad that you appreciate the work we are doing. We appreciate your support.
When it comes to nutrition advice, there is a lot of confusion. I am so happy that I can always turn to consumerlab for clarity. The research-based information has been tremendously helpful.
We're glad that you are enjoying your membership to ConsumerLab, Shiang. Thanks for letting us know.
I usually buy supplements based on your reviews. But sometimes when you do an update, that top rated product is not reviewed in the update, yet it is still available. What happened?
Hi Bill - As there are over 30,000 supplements sold in the U.S., each time we perform a new review of a category, we try to retest some of the top-rated products from our previous review, but we also test new products, particularly if they seem to offer advantages over previous products in terms of formula, ingredients, quality, and/or cost. As a result, there can be some change over time in the brands and products covered in a particular review. In any event, we understand that many ConsumerLab members would like to see continuity in the products covered, so we will continue to include most previous Top Picks (if still sold) in new reviews -- although there is no guarantee that they will remain our Top Picks year-after-year.
I first heard of ConsumerLab.com on Dr. Oz. The research that this organization provides in invaluable. I lecture on medical topics and CL is a priceless resource for me.
The only site where we get the answers to all of our questions about supplements. You can't trust any of these manufacturers claims until it's been tested by ConsumerLab.
We're glad that you are enjoying your membership to ConsumerLab, Tom. Thanks for letting us know.
I look up supplements and conditions in ConsumerLab at least a few times every week. I know that the information I find there is based on solid scientific research.
Thank you for that nice feedback, Mary!
ConsumerLab.com does have a yearly subscription fee. I can't remember how much, but believe me, if you buy supplements, vitamins, protein, weight loss, and other natural/alternative/health products, ConsumerLab will save you money! We all know the claims made by companies, sounding almost miraculous, and often "too good to be true". Consumer Lab offers an unbiased, research-oriented study of different groups of supplements. A very recent report from Consumer Lab was on Apple Cider Vinegar. CL listed all the benefits of apple cider vinegar. Uses and indications for each set of products they review are given. They then showed a graph of different Apple Cider Vinegars they tested in their "Quality Certification Program", as quality testing is a main part of CL's information to consumers. On their graphs are products that are "Approved" or "Not Approved" after quality testing was done. CL explains why some products are not approved, and they supply the parameters of approved products. In addition (and the reason this site saves you money), CL lists the costs of the different companies and shows the "Best Buy". Consumer Lab is totally unbiased, and all their information is based on the research they have done. They look at such things as contaminants, such as lead levels, quality of products, cost, efficacy (such as does this product absorb into our systems). As a consumer of supplements, et. Al., CL is a valuable resource.

Answer: There is no single best supplement or brand. It's best to focus on the type of supplement you are looking for, e.g., multivitamin, fish oil, probiotic, herbal) and read our Product Review for that specific category and see which product is our Top Pick for that category. Here is a list of our current reports: https://www.consumerlab.com/results/
Answer: Yes, we recently published a new report on turmeric and curcumin supplements as well as turmeric spice (ground root powders) at https://www.consumerlab.com/reviews/turmeric-curcumin-supplements-spice-review/turmeric/
Answer: Hi Barbara - You can give a gift membership to ConsumerLab.com from this page: https://www.consumerlab.com/giftcerts/. We have a link to this at the bottom of every page, but the font is a bit small. Hope that helps.
