I'm seeing signed-up users who have less comments and less to no complaints. What am I seeing here, really? Sorry, I'd stay away from this crap.

Scam website

They never take anything down unless you pay them, its blackmail, they are purely in it for the money. They are only interested in bad reviews, if you post some good information about a company it simply wont get on the website as they cant make any money from that.

Scam?

I received my first negative review on SiteJabber today for my business from a person whose name I did not recognise as purchasing from me within the past few months. I have also never had anyone contact me regading a problem with an order which is strange.

Weirdly, 10 minutes after responding to the review I got an email into my junk from complaintsboard.com which I have never heard of before. Upon researching it, a lot of people link it to fake reviews and then this company charge you to have them removed. I'm presuming this is what the strange review is that has appeared against my business today - too coincidental not to be.

I can't believe people would try and scam others like this - and leaving fake negative reviews against people's companies. Absolutely shocked!

Complaints Board is a complete online scam. It is a forum for sociopaths, internet trolls and bullies to have a free space to degrade any business or person they choose.
Not only does the site attempt to extract money once the review is published, so does the poster. Usually the poster hits all of the other sites too then demands money.
Complaints Board allows people to assault people's sexuality, character, looks, anything these bullies can think of. Then the company sends it out to other associated sites so that the person or business has this trash show up at the top in every search engine.
This is total blackmail and character assassination. I cannot believe a class action suit has not yet been filed.

A scam website, operating from within Russia
September 14, 2022

May 12th 2023 update:

We did some research and quickly found out that ComplaintsBoard is not headquartered in Riga, Latvia, as is claimed on its website.

It's actually registered and run by someone that lives in Moscow, Russia.

This is likely the reason why the website owner(s) are unafraid of any legal action.

Given the current war in Ukraine, we have advised all of our customers to stop posting reviews of our company in response to what are clearly online attacks by a few of our business competitors on the ComplaintsBoard website.

ComplaintsBoard earns some of its revenue from ad impressions.

Btw, the response from ComplaintsBoard to our review is utter nonsense.

Victory to Ukraine and let's hope these Russian scammers that run complaintsboard.com are enlisted into the Russian army - as cannon fodder.

Complaints Board is a scam website, run by a guy from Estonia.

A couple of our business competitors have written "reviews" of our TEFL program on Complaints Board, and have then followed up with anonymous comments.

None of the reviews were written by any of our customers.

When someone adds a comment and has verified their email address with Complaints Board, they have a "Verified customer" label displayed by their comment.

Anyone can verify their email with Complaints board and then become a "Verified customer" without ever purchasing the product or service that they are commenting on or reviewing.

We are assuming that there would be a hell of a lot more complaints written online about Complaints Board, but most business owners are just too afraid to voice concern in case of reprisals from the guy from Complaints Board.

We feel that it is our public duty to warn people about the website.

I imagine that some of the reviews and comments about some companies and individuals are merited.

From our experience though, we would never base our purchasing decisions on the info published on Complaints Board because we know that it is a hotbed for competitor attacks.

This is a real issue because you might be convinced into purchasing a poor product or service because the company has convinced you that its competitors are scams or not legit.

The solution to the issue would be if Complaints Board really did check each and every review to see whether it is from a real customer or not.

That would involve too much hard work and it is just easier for Complaints Board to see its traffic increase by publishing anything and everything.

Btw, we have seen a lot of reviews from people that have said they will proceed with a legal response.

The website owner makes it very clear that anyone can feel free to go ahead and do this, and that he is not intimidated by legal threats.

This is a mistake.
You can take the owner to court.
He is an EU citizen and is bound by EU privacy and data laws.

Update: Since writing this review our profile was fixed and information updated. So make sure you reach out to them to clear everything up.
Our company has a "profile" on this terrible website. It collects random information from different sources without following up on them or checking the information. In our case the " complaint " was taken from our BBB page. We resolved the complaint long time ago, but they wouldn't update it on their website. Websites like this should be banned since they are hurtful to businesses/consumers. If you run a complaints website, make sure to check your information. Not just still it from other websites.

Complaints Board is controlling and withholding public record by only allowing some reviews to come through. Complaints Board is doing this to get business advertise with them. Complaints Board is violating A Freedom of Information Act!

According to statistics, more than 90% of customers use review websites before making decisions to purchase something. These are my personal recommendations. Never ignore what customers say.
My first website to check if there're any complaints about a certain company is complaintsboard. I recommend you to always do the same, especially if you're gonna spend a lot. Check what other people complain about and check if a company tries to resolve their issues. If yes then there's nothing to worry about, if no, then no one guarantees you won't be one of those complainants.
I guess it's their solid position, but actually lack of positive reviews makes this website trustworthy to me as they reflect the real situation and how a company treats their clients.
People rarely write reviews when they are happy. There's nothing to talk about if everything is perfect.
But if a company screws up, we usually do everything to let everyone know about it. And it's the company that should improve this situation and resolve your problem by any means. Not you.
So I really think that websites like complaintsboard are useful and should exist to avoid misunderstanding, fraud and deception. Those complaints can become a really important part of your shopping experience.

Very helpful website

The staff of this website was very helpful when i had problems with filling a complaint against a local company, that refused to give me a refund, after the wifi router the sold me broke down in 3 days after the purchase. I think most of the people that are complaining about them are either scam themselves, or just don't know how to behave.

I want to thank this wonderful site for helping me resolve my conflict with my bank. I found out that about 200 dollars disappeared from my account, and the bank denied any complaint of mine, so i decided to use complaintsboard.com and it really helped to communicate with the bank in a different way. I got my money back, and everything is OK. Thank you once again!

I am very thankful to complaintsboard.com for giving me a chance to get a refund from a scam company. I got all the information needed, and I also a had a chance to get in touch with other users.

I have used this site many times to see if there are complaints on business before I order online products. They also show a lot of listings for companies I have use in the past. They have a search engine to type in the name of businesses that you may want to check on. Or who have had prior complaints. Even if you wonder if everything that is said on this site is true, it makes you wonder if they can be trusted. To me there is no chancing it I just stay away. I hope this helps anyone who may be thinking of ordering online from sites with no contact numbers.

Got my money back
March 20, 2015

I am really happy with their service. I've posted my complaint against a local store and got my money back. I was unable to get it back before the posting as the owner refused to even listen to me. I've got my refund within 2 days - and considering that the services are free, this makes complaintsboard.com a really valuable website!

Scam website, writes fake bad reviews about companies and tries to get said company to "pay to get it removed". If you browse the site you'll see many mid-small companies with one review with the same generic bad review as the first review. Also has been noted by others that the site itself is unsafe to use, pop ups and such. Avoid

Should be illegal

Most of the reviews on complaintsboard.com are indeed legit. However, a lot of scammers increasingly use the site to extract money from businesess. They post fake and defamatory reviews about your company and once the bad review appears in google they contact you to offer their services (often pretending to be a SEO company) to remove the fake review.

Unfortunately, due to US regulations, you can't have the fake review removed by the site owner and they don't seem to care about it anyway. This is an illegal practice affecting many businesses including mine recently.

The site is full of plagiarized "complaints" from other sites for starters. Whomever "runs" the site which is not in the USA uses third party contacts within the US to "offer" removal of complaints from their site for a fee, normally over $1000 for such a "service". Looking through the site shows how they target smaller companies and how many of those complaints posted are other sites and sometimes you will even find complaint copy and pasted to another company. There are truthful and helpful review sites on the internet but this is not one of them. It is nothing more then an extortion site. Look for yourself doing a search. I'm sure they have trolls on here telling how wonderful the site is, but the truth is out there, easily seen.

Some frauds or our competitors lie that they use our service and we never ship them any items. We contact complaintsboard.com to remove the lie review because there is no proof or tracking as fraud mention, but complaintsboard.com will not remove that fraud lie review, They never offer help for innocent people. We should never trust this website at all. They should be shut down
