I'm incredibly angry I have to even give one star the fact that they boast about early direct deposit is absolute BS when your payday falls on a holiday Your pay gets deposited two days after the intended date while you're waiting to pay bills. Absolutely ridiculous. Don't believe the lies how many holidays fall on a payday think about it it's not worth it. Get a real bank instead of this technological company that isn't even actually a financial institution.
Chime started out as a good bank but now I want to sue them for false advertising saying get paid 2 days early and not or not to mention the absolute terrible support they have making you feel as if it's your fault you haven't received your check
I generally use cash app. Purse was stolen so I had to order new cards get new phone. Went to install my chime app on new phone. They locked me out. I sent them old id I had. But they won't accept it. So after being robbed chime helped by taking what I had left. So I'm a disabled person on set income. Have my last 100 on the card. Have been broke with no food or my medication thanks to chime. Hell even told them that card is linked to my bank. Just let me transfer my money out. They refused. They are heartless and care NOTHING about their customers. STAY AWAY FROM CHIME. I spoke with 15 people that work for chime they all said same thing. We can't do anything but send it to our higher ups. Well after three days of begging to get my money back. Still broke and hungry. I'll keep at it and let you know how long chimes keeps my money.
Chime customer service is the worst people I dealt with on the phone. They say oh you will get paid on this date or two day earlier lie they keep the deposits and not pay them as stated. This company changes rules without notifying customers. Over draft does not start at 200 dollars you have to wait and have a deposit of amount which is not explained. I had chime for four years and nothing but issues cashing checks on app, to app issues or just rules they change to suite them.
I talked with a representative for customer service his name was Jerry he was super great very friendly and highly professional im glad chime has someone like him to answer any questions presented to him he deserves a promotion!
Is a good bank but the new app lay out sucks it was easier the way it was now u have to go under 3 different sections to do one thing when before it was not like that u just go to one spot and it was there
I'll give 2 stars for the simple fact customer support is "adequate" at best. My most recent request to cancel a pending deposit was a positive experience on customer service side. If it wasn't for that I don't think the 2 stars u even gave was "earned"
When I got my chimes account my score was in the middle 500's. I'm in my upper 600's now, it's not all chimes but it really helped. The only thing I have against them is if your wanting to keep your utilization at 0 its almost impossible because of were they don't report everything. Yes I would recommend this card for starting out or rebuilding credit.
Why would Chime send your debit card with your ENTIRE account number attached asking you to set up direct deposit. This makes it so easy for a thief to transfer your money to another account purchase items and set up automatic payments. If anyone wants to set up direct deposit that should be a personal decision that the chime user can make via phone call or through the chime app. This is insane they offer up this sensitive information through mail! Mail could be mistakenly be put in the wrong mailbox or be lost. Mainstream banks do not disclose account information when distributing debit and credit cards. Take notes!
Chime is an alternative banking option one can get as opposed to traditional banking such as Wells Fargo. The qualifications for Chime Bank seem really chill. Meaning, almost anyone can obtain one. A few restrictions do apply. The bank account itself is displayed through the Chime app. One can open a checking and/or savings account with Chime. There are no fees ever. One can add funds to his or her account by direct deposit, money transfers, and loading green dot cards. Chime does not support cash atm deposits. This is a huge problem. Customer service is friendly and effective. There is no money required to open an account. No minimum one must have in the account at all times.
Chime Bank credits themselves as full service. They are not. They do not do standard international bank transfers, instead they rely on a more costly service. Chime does not do standard bank transfer in the states, though they claim they do. I tried. The Chime agent said it hadn't been implemented yet.
Chime Customer Service answered 5 contacts with them 2 by phone and 3 by email with either useless information that did not address the question, or wrong information. They do not answer simple questions regarding their own system regarding ACH codes or even physical addresses of Bancorp Bank branches used for transactions.
I would never recommend this partial-service attempt at online banking to anyone. I would give them ZERO stars in the review if it did not default to one star.
It's all cheap exported service,lost 413 to em as a scammer left there number on there site,I called to have it stopped and returned and were like sucks for you,so I'm out that. They don't care about there customers since was sold to T-Mobile and use there cheap T-Mobile india based call centers,be switching immediately. Was ok before the sell
I have been a customer with Chime for over 7 years. Recently I had to deposit a payroll check using the mobile deposit option. They placed a 7 day hold on my check causing me to accrue several late fees on bills that I had to pay. There were previous direct deposits from the same company. I called everyday and could not get the funds released or the deposit cancelled. Absolutely ridiculous to hold a persons money for 7 days with no warning. If I would have known, I would have never deposited the check. Stay away!
Chime allowed unauthorized charges to post to my account without any evidence that I made them (I didn't). After haggling with them for 60+ days they responded with a email saying "no billing error occurred". What an outrage. What a bunch of thieves. Do NOT trust Chime with your money. You are guaranteed to get hacked.

Chime is deceitful and the agents are liars. I receive ssi benefits. I used to have Walmart money card. I truly regret leaving Walmart money card for chime. When I was with Walmart money card I received my ssi 5 days early EVERY month on time. Chime claims to do the same thing, but since I have been with Chime. I get it at various times up to 5 days early, however I rarely get it 5 days early. When I contact the Chime agents about this issue. I get a different answer every month. An agent told me last month that I usually receive it around the 24th or 25th. This month an agent told me that I usually receive it around the 27th. I guess that Chime thinks that I can't count to 5 and that I don't know what day I'm supposed to receive the direct deposit. Even the Chime ads are deceitful. For example. Join chime and we will spot you up to $200 before payday. Well what they don't tell you is that they will only spot you $20 and to get that spot me to go up you have to send your friends money. That is stupid. If someone needs to be loaned $200 before payday. What sense does it make to give out the money you have to your friends just to get a loan from chime? What person on a fixed-income has money to give out to their friends? So whatever fool came up with that idea obviously has no clue on how people on fixed-incomes have to live. We barely make it from month to month on what little money we receive. We don't have money to give out to our friends just to get a loan from chime that we have to give back when chime gets around to sending us our direct deposit. Walmart money card is way better. I was able to barrow up to $200 and didn't have to give away what little I already have to my friends to do it. I will be going back to Walmart money card next month. I've had it with the lies and bs I get from chime and their agents. I do not recommend chime. If you are on a fixed-income Walmart money card is the way to go. I highly recommend them.
They stole my money by claiming that I broke a rule which they won't specify. They told me to send identity verification and I did but are keeping my money hostage in a suspended account because they disqualified my actual identification. I am disabled and homeless to boot. All my money in the world is in there. They are ruthless liars who market to and steal from the poor. My spirit is heavy with the suffering they have caused me. This bank isn't even a bank. It's a big scam. Many people have suffered because of them. Don't fall for their evil advertising. Save yourself the heartache or worse!
I have had direct deposit for over a 2 years and still have not been accepted for a $200 overdraft fee or an increase of more than 30 dollar overdraft the only they do is give me my deposited check more than two days early
5 going on 6 months they locked me out of my account and won't send my money in the mail. 17 calls and 30 emails and the incompetent staff threatening to close an account that was closed after I realized that they were not willing to fix the problem. Staff is lazy and now telling customers they will end their service when you are upset about their bad service and the withholding of your funds.
You make a payroll deposit and they decide to hold its for 7 days and give you $200. The payroll department said it cleared them on 7/21/23 and I'm still waiting to get my money from the thieves. I've gotten paid again today and will not be putting anymore money in this account. Can't wait to get my money the thieves are holding so I can close this BS account. If I could rate them a -10 I would. But they make you choose a one star which they don't deserve.
Answer: Yep! Same here. My entire paycheck was drained, then I filed a dispute and they closed it within hours, denying me of course. Next they decided to close my account out of nowhere, I'm sure bc I wouldn't stop trying to get my money back. I'll be taking this to a lawyer.
