When I hadn't ordered in a while, Chewy sent me a postcard addressed to my cat asking how he was doing. It was hilarious and did prompt me to submit another order. They have competitive pricing, fast shipping, and carry brands that are difficult to find in the pet stores near me. I had an issue once with a larger item in my box smashing a small box of treats and they immediately apologized and re-sent the treats for free. Much appreciated.

I was with Chewy.com for several years -- I watched the website grow and they used to have the lowest prices, no taxes, and fast shipping. However, chewy has progressively changed for the worst. Prices are not the lowest anymore, they are now charging taxes and even though the website says "Free 1-2 day shipping over $49" that is not always the case! If you place an order on Friday or Saturday you will NOT get your order until Tuesday or Wednesday (that is not 1-2 day shipping -- that is false advertising!).
Just yesterday, I had to do what to all pet lovers/owners absolutely "hate" to do - put my little Pomeranian to sleep. In anticipation of doing so, I decided to purchase a special urn for her so that she'll always be with me. I received the urn yesterday afternoon. As I opened the box, underneath the urn, I found a hand-written note that said "I'm so sorry for your loss. Hugs to you (heart)". A loving Chewy employee". I want to thank this employee for going "above & beyond" to make me feel better & warmed my heart! He/she didn't have to do this, but it meant the world to me & the note will be placed in a picture frame that will sit next to my little Juicy's urn. Thank you for caring!

I have used Chewy.com for years because of the great price, incredible convenience, and great variety of items. I have had very few occasion to contact their customer service but when I have, they have ALWAYS resolved the issue (even if it was my fault at times) and acted like I was doing THEM a favor! Kudos!
Recently, however, I was FLOORED at how proactive they were in their pursuit of customer service. I had bought a toy for my dogs from Chewy.com and it failed to impress but I did not contact Chewy.com. I just chalked it up to, "well I tried"!. A couple of weeks later, I got an email asking me to review the toy. I left a brief but honest review; that my dogs hadn't liked it and the battery-operated toy had died days after receipt. Today, I received an email from Chewy.com stating that they had refunded the purchase price of that toy. THIS my friends is WHY I LOVE LOVE LOVE Chewy. There are a ton of on-line pet item sites but Chewy is THE BEST! The fact that they #1 READ my Review and #2 ACTED on it WITHOUT being asked is why Chewy.com is in my book the BEST!

Chewy is the best on-line dog supply mail order ever! They are flexible with their auto-ship which I find to work with my schedules! Sometimes I need dog food earlier than scheduled. No problem! The food arrives within the next 2 days!

We order cat food, treats and litter here for our little tortoiseshell tabby, who has been undergoing cancer treatment for the past year. Everything is always clear and easy to find, and they make it even easier to re-order the same items by putting them on their own page. Shipping is super fast, we often get our items just a day or two after ordering! Love them.

Chewy.com could write a how-to manual on customer service. I was in the process of moving and placed an order with chewy.com. First, never order anything while you are trying to move. I inadvertently combined a portion of my old address with a portion of my new address and created one that did not exist. When the package didnt arrive as scheduled, a representative from chewy.com called me to resolve my address error and I received my order the next day. It was refreshing to have them call me and resolve the problem, I was yet unaware I created, with only minimal delay in receiving the product. Thank you chewy.com.
Tried to order cases of Royal Canin for Oakland Animal Services as a donation. Received repeated emails that order was being cancelled (every day 3 days in a row) since the prescription had not been called in by shelter vet. After speaking to rep about having to reconfirm order (multiple times), rep tells me that prescription has been received.
4 weeks later, I call to check that food has been sent to shelter... chewy claims there is no prescription and has cancelled the order.

I've ordered probably ten different items and I'd say I have been happy with almost all of it. A few times the items didn't arrive in the promised 1-2 days but when I ordered an outdoor house for pets and I wasn't happy, they told me to donate it to a shelter and refunded my money. I didn't even ask for a refund, they saw my bad review and contacted me. You will never see that kind of action from any other company. I continue to do business with them, of course.
Frequently they are out of stuff :( but they usually restock pretty quick. They have things for all your pets at home ( even horses!) I hope they can expand to more farm animals soon but overall its a great site and you can ask them questions on specific items or send them an email and they usually respond to you the same day or the next day depending on how many they get that day. The app works great with almost no bugs or glitches. They have auto ship and the first time you use it they give you a percentage off your first order and its great! They frequently have sales too on your favorite items so thats a bonus!
The most accommodating and friendly customer service ever. Any problem at all, they refund and replace. I have a dog then got a cat and didn't keep the cat. I donated all the cat supplies to the non-profit rescue organization that I returned the cat to. I told Chewy I donated everything and they refunded me.

Downsides: I have had several extremely poorly packed orders, resulting in breakage, and a couple of orders when I received the wrong item. (we order a lot). (My other wish is that some of the pet food items like cases of cat food could be purchased in slightly smaller quantities. 24 cans of the same flavor of premium kitten food is risky at best (retail stores stock 6 can packages of the same food). Cats are fussy; I'd love to be able to buys more varieties of food in smaller quantities, so for that reason (and supporting local business), I continue to frequent several of my local stores as well.

My understanding for returns is any item can be returned, even if it has been used you may return it within 1 year of original purchase. Their Custom Service is available 24 hours, 7 days a week. So, if you work odd hours you don't to wait until Customer Service is available.

Then you scream at the reps you speak to due to your own stupidity levels in NOT READING A COMPANIES POLICIES. FYI it is a CONSUMERS RESPONSIBILITY to read those policies as the company already knows their own policies. FYI shipping from the USA to Canada cost customs fees and taxes which are NOT refundable and if you chose to return an item you will will incur these fees again and YOU are responsible for paying for them not the company you do business with. International shipping also requires proper documentation to get packages through customs. Not every USA company has the man power to deal with this enormous amount of work nor do they wish to deal with the headaches involved with shipping outside of the USA. How so many of you Canadians do not know this information is mind boggling.
