The company has established a strong reputation for its user-friendly platform and competitive pricing, with many customers praising the efficiency of the booking process and the helpfulness of customer service representatives. However, some concerns have been raised regarding communication issues, particularly related to flight changes and refunds, leading to frustration among users. While the majority of feedback highlights a positive experience, instances of delayed support and difficulties in correcting booking errors suggest areas for improvement. Overall, the company is viewed as a reliable option for budget-conscious travelers, yet it must enhance its customer service responsiveness.

I booked tickets for my family of three, and because of Trump ban my family had to cancel their trip. Okay, my bad, no one else should pay for this but me... because CheapoAir explained very politely that they should generate revenue for their owners and although this was out of my hands, but they will get their cancellation fees up to the last cent. But what they did? They not only just refunded only a part of the initial payment (refunded around $1940 out of $2400), but they also incurred another $500 charge to my account, and their explanation was that one is for CheapoAir and one is for the airline! They never tell you there are such fees in advance. And it was quite negotiable, i. E. the manager decided to give me a $50 relief on these fees! Totally unreasonable people and irresponsible so-called managers.
Update (I add this after CheapoAir response below):
Sounds interesting. You can simply take a look at the communications regarding booking ******* and all my conversations (don't know what portion of them would be accessible now, if recorded at all.)
Anyway, the only thing I felt was that the customer is left alone in front of an army from CheapoAir, who are always trying to secure the benefit of shareholders, and at the best, customer rights comes after that. The representative I talked to once, introduced himself as "Max", and escalated my case to a supervisor, "Alex", and the response was something along these lines that although this is totally out of the customers hand and it is not customer's fund, but if we don't charge these fees, then we cannot secure the benefits we have promised! Maybe this is recorded in your customer service hot line conversations.
Cheapoair is like a scam on their website about CANCELLATION POLICY. Beware people because you will see "Book with Confidence 24. Hour Cancellation Policy" ( FINE PRINT) but when you book the flight and you want to cancel it even in 5 minutes after you booked and want to cancel it they will charge you $75.00 per person. I've been a customer of Cheapoair but now this company is horrible trying to make money from people.
Also, the customer service in INDIA CALL CENTERs are HORRIBLE, RUDE and GREEDY of FEES $. I called directly the Airline Company and they said they can cancel the flight anytime as long as within 24 hours.
I will never ever book any flight to Cheapoair. It's a Nightmare!
Hello, seems that you had an issue with the 24 hour cancellation rule that we have recently put in place a few months back. There is a 24 hour grace period in most cases, that do allow you to cancel and receive a refund from a non refundable ticket, but as a travel agency, we can, and do charge a cancel fee, which is stated right above the submit button on the payment page. It is also listed in a link above the flight, and in our terms and conditions. Travel agencies are not bound by "free" 24 hour cancellations.
Had to cancel my flight because of hurricane Irma and they would not refund my ticket. If I had booked directly through airline I would have received a credit.
Gary, we operate the same as the airline., If a credit is what you wanted for your flight that is what we can do for you, but you said you wanted a refund, and the airlines were not refunding. We will be glad to look into this, just provide your 8 digit booking number.
They added a hidden fee, and their customer service is horrible. On hold for half an hour and every time i spoke to someone, they just transferred me to someone else. Stay away!
They took advantage of Hurricane Irma hitting Florida. The travel dates changed when redirected to their site. Tried to cancel within minutes of booking and got charged with a big cancellation fee. Zero empathy and sympathy for people in an emergency
I booked a flight for my sister in law and brother out of the Bahamas to JFK. Hurricane Irma is going to hit the east cost so they want to get out ASAP. While booking the flight I mistyped my sister in laws first name. I thought no big deal I will call and have them change it. I first called JetBlue who informed me that I would need to call cheap o air. I called and waited on hold for over 16 minutes then the phone just hung up. I called back, 6 minutes later, same thing. I called to "book reservations" and a person picked up right away. After explaining that I need to change a name he said he had to transfer me. 20 minutes later and I am finally speaking with a "customer service rep". I then again explain the simple mistake of spelling my sister in laws first name wrong and how I need it changed. I am quickly told that it will be $75 to change the name! I said no, I am only changing the spelling, not the person, not the date, not the airline; just the spelling. His response was yes, it will be $75 for me to make that change for You! This company is a joke and a sorry excuse for customer service.
Tried to book a flight on this site for a flight to San Francisco, however the site defaulted the return flight via Los Angeles which I had specifically asked for nonstop flights. Very time I called to "once they heard what I was calling for" they would tell me that they are transferring the call to a supervisor, have me on hold for over 30 minutes and hang up. I was finally able to talk to someone who would listen and not transfer me - after telling them what happened, they told me i had to pay almost 400 USD for the change which by the way was more the round trip ticket, so had to use only one way and buy another ticket for return. Another thing I noticed is the site advertises one price and once you start the reservation process the price jumps up considerably. NEVER USE THIS SITE!
I booked an international ticket for $404. Unfortunately my mother could not go on the scheduled time. After speaking with several people and getting additional charges, I was only able to recover $80. The rest was lost due to fees etc. I was very upset and will never use CheapOair again. Their customer service is terrible and you can't understand them since it is handled in a foreign country.
"Sit together": No notification about sub fee
Then, type in your billing info, then book
Ok, 300 more dollars were added to your expense.
Sorry, no cancellation.
Totally scam.
First my trip got switched at checkout from what I had asked for & when I called to try to switch it (2 hours later when I saw my confirmation email) the phone service continued to hang up on me ever 5-7 minutes without connecting to an agent and this went on for over an hour! I talked to 3 different people all of which refused to put me on with a supervisor, one threatened to cancel my entire trip and another straight up hung up on me. Then I'm looking right at the fare that was the same for tols I had to pay a fee! I asked to speak to a supervisor again & was once again stone walked. This was back in June. Well guess what I just got a phone call from a supervisor saying how sorry she was for my experience 3 MONTHS LATER! Well Fatima I told you I was going to let everyone know how crappy your customer service was here you go! Could you imagine 3 months later being told "oh I will speak to the agent about what transpired". NEVER BOOK THIS SITE EVER!
I called to change my flight and was told to rebook the same flight for the times I would like and to call in again to cancel the previous flight without paying a fee.
This was the most unethical business practices I have ever experienced. I was on the phone for 45 minutes with three different employees where I was accused of making up the initial phone call and instructions given to me by a Cheapoair rep. I was accused of lying and fabricating the initial phone call because the rep never noted my account.
I was not only forced into a change fee but then insisted that the airfare had increased during our time on the phone (not reflected on Cheapoair's site or the airline's direct website). The supervisor refused to pull the recorded call (where I was instructed to book a second flight to avoid a change fee), beginning with that they don't record every call and ending after 15 minutes of debating with they do record the calls but it would take over 24 hours to find and listen to (despite having exact times and lengths of calls- less than a 2 minute call by the way). After 24 hours, changing the reservation is no longer an option and would be set in stone. I had to explain to the supervisor that these are the most unethical business practices I have ever heard of and that my arm was being twisted in every direction in order to pay this fee which I was promised to be avoided in the first place.
I finally insisted on pulling a call recording or I would report them to the BBB and only then did the supervisor say he could do so. I was promised a same-day callback, which I shockingly did not receive. I actually didn't receive any call ever. It took 5 emails and three weeks to receive the refund I deserved.
Never ever working with them again. If I had specific names (could not understand any names through heavy accents), I would gladly supply them so they can be properly trained in customer service. I have never been so frustrated with any business.
The supervisor called said we issue a refund for amout$000, but you have to paid the cancellation fee Wich of $400 I did that and I was waiting for my refund which supposed to go on the card they said still under investigation so I hope I don't loose my ticket money and my refund because I will sue there $#*! and I will take it to the media for all the scam they do to the rest of the customers.
Don't book through this site. I used it to book a flight for my adult grandson & even purchased the flight insurance. The second half of his flight was cancelled & after arguing with Cheap O Air for months was never compensated for the flight cancellation that left him stranded in another state, hotel booking or rental car to get him to his final destination. A " cheap" flight cost me 3x as much as a normal one. NEVER AGAIN!
Just booked a flight only two hours ago, and needed to cancel it as some things were wrong. Called them, people who answer the phone have this heavy indian accent, difficult to understand them!
Usually any bookings that you need to cancel withing 24 hours, are eligibile for a full refund. But, they told me that it is 50$ cancelation fee! That if I want to cancel I would have to pay that 50$ separately first and ONLY then they will cancel it! Then asked me if I autorize them to charge 50$ cancelation fee, and use the SAME card that I used to book the flight. Only after you autorize them, they only then agreed to cancel it! After that told me that airline will provide me a full refund withing 14 business days!
I checked my bank account and booking charges were first just pending, but now they just dropped! So, they lied to me just to get their 50$, in fact they were not even able to deduct it from that booking amount, they had to charge me separately! Dishonest! Firts they told me that airline has already took my money and if I want itback, then I would need to pay 50$ first, ONLY then they will cancel my booking! After which pending charges just dropped, they were not even posted as they lied. I will not be using this horrible website anymore! They do the business dishonest way! Any airline company has a policy that you can cancel a booking withon 24 hours at no charge, but these people just try so hard to get an extra dollar from you in any way they can.
Booked a five hour flight, ended up with a 16 hour flight with two more layovers. I asked who the F$&k would book a flight that took that much longer for the same price as the five hour flight and was told they captured my screenshots. Go f yourself, i want to see my family not DFW for 7 hours and watch 2 connecting flights go to Calgary before i go to Vancouver and stay for 2 hours then to Calgary. Leave at 8:15 am get to Calgary next day at 12:15 am instead of 1 pm. A$&holes, rip off, sh&tty app. Please Please Please use someone different
Their website is totally misleading and company uses deceptive practices. App leads you to think lowest prices apply to your requested dates. When you click on those flights it again confirms the dates you are requesting. I followed this procedure then got a confirmation email with the totally wrong days! I called immediately and was told that I could not change or refund the flight without paying $150 fee. I refused b/c there was an error due to their website.
A few days later ( after lots of calls to airlines, etc) I called CheapO back to see if they would change or refund even some of the tickets. They refused to refund anything because it had been 24 hours and after talking to multiple supervisors (who were very difficult to understand b/c of their accents and very RUDE!) Also, after being on hold for 45 minutes they hung up on us. This is a terrible company! Do not use them!
My husband is in Iraq. He gets to come home for 14 days out of a year. We booked flight, charged my card, and send email confirmation of booking number. He arrives to airport and there is no ticket for him. Plane is full! Cheap o Air books him on a flight to leave two days later. I asked representative if they would compensate us at all. He just lost two days with his family. Representative tells me no, this was a SUPERVISOR, Jayden his first name. Brandon archer back to base and got approval to come back two days later. Once again spoke to a supervisor, London, to switch his return flight two days later. He informed me that he would change the return date but for a $150 fee and additional airline charge fee, approximately around $500. DON'T USE THIS SITE! YOU WILL REGRET IT IF SOMEONE DOESN'T DO THEIR JOB!
Cheapoairways. Worst ever travel Agent/Merchant. I wouldn't recommend to throw in there harden earn money to these guys. I would rather prefer to give the money to homeless person or to some charity or donation.
These guys even take off money on cancelled tickets
We purchased tickets for a trip two months before the event. The time of departure that ultimately showed up on the ticket was incorrect and could not be changed on their website. A call was made within the hour of the transaction to correct the departure time. The agent indicated afterwards that there was no charge since the call was placed within an allowable time frame. Two months later when the bill was emailed a charge of $66 per passenger was added as a post booking charge. Customer service agents and supervisors say that in their recordings that their booking agent advised of these charges. I have asked to listen to the recording... so far hasn't happened. It is one thing to make a charge it is a whole different thing to have such deception. It seems there was no difference in flight cost between this program and others. Hold time and phone time to attempt to resolve this concern multiple times has been over 3 hours. This company is not honorable.
Answer: I would not use Cheapo under any circumstances. Look at the 698 (!) complaints at the Better Business Bureau website. They hide under the name Fareportal, which is the parent company.
Answer: Don't use them. Book through the airline. I paid to select my seats, then a week before my flight they put me and my companion in the middle seats in different rows!
Answer: Security may not be an issue but they can cheat you by hiding information you should know. I would suggest to not use them and their customer service personnel are also worst I have ever seen.
Answer: Provide the 8 digit booking number and what you need assistance with. Our apologies for the inconvenience
Answer: You can't and they will steal your money like what they did to me
Answer: Because they are scam, they just want to steal money from our pocket

Mahdi sorry to hear about your recent booking experience. We would be glad to have been able to go over this information, but you didn't provide the booking number so that we could access the reservation. Therefore we can only explain that, first, we have no say in the travel ban that Trump has put in place, nor does any other travel site, or airline. Second, if you require a refund from an unused refundable ticket, there are airline cancel fees, and our cancel fee which is stipulated in our terms and condition. If there was any booking fee associated with the original ticket, that is non refundable even if you cancel the trip. Our apologies if the outcome wasn't as you would have liked, with more information, we perhaps can work something out.
