Just don't do it

Waste of time, terrible customer service. Everything is out sourced and you won't be able to understand the the customer service rep. So many fees that shouldn't exist, and refund policy is a joke. Don't use third parties book with a real airline and save yourself the hassle.

I booked a airline tickets through CheapOair and canceled the next day. I was charged for $150 fee. I have contacted their customer service for a refund for the last two months but they haven't get my money back yet. I called every week and they kept saying it is being processed but they don't follow through. Their customer service is horrible as was waiting on the phone over an hour but they don't help to refund. I don't recommend their service.

WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY.

My family booked a flight to Hawaii through them in June of 2020 in hopes that Hawaii would be open in time to go by December of 2020. As we all know, 2020 being what it was, this did not happen. Our flight was cancelled by Hawaiian Airlines due to Covid19. Okay, that part was understandable. Now we can get to Cheapo Air's part in the debacle. We were told BY THEM that our credit would stay with Hawaiian Airlines and be good for 2 years. Ok, that's fine. We attempted to book another trip and was told that our credit was through Cheapo Air (exactly the opposite of what we were originally told.) Now, after MONTHS of trying to get ahold of this useless company, they're attempting to steal over $3,000. Over the last few months we've received all kinds of answers from them in order to delay anything being done by them. We were told we would be refunded, we were told it was good for years, we were told that all we had to do was wait. Most recently, we talked to them and were told not only are we not being refunded, but that the credit will only be good through July of this year. This isn't possible since they intentionally delayed telling us about it for over 6 months. NOT ONLY THAT, but they will be taking $1,000 off of the credit for "change and cancellation fees" that was done through Hawaiian Airlines and was 100% out of our control. Unless the money is refunded, they have thoroughly stolen $3,000 from us. STAY AWAY.

UPDATE: Was told a week ago that Hawaiian Airlines would be contacted to approve the refund. Since then, radio silence when emailed. Repeatedly tried calling and sit on hold for hours before being hung up on. Now they're sending emails saying they have "been trying to contact you" and telling us to call their phone number once again, only to be hung up on.
Absolutely asinine.

Never Again- very deceitful

I'll never book with them again. I should have known cheapO and Spirit were a baaaaaad combination. I paid for a "first class" seat that they confirmed a month again when I booked… have them email the itinerary the day of flight (today) Seat still confirmed… I go to spirit app to check in and I have some random $#*! seats.
CS operator tells me it was their error that they confirmed my "first class" seat… but won't do anything about it. Never again. You think your getting a deal but it all adds up to f*ckery in the end. DONT BOOK WITH THEM!

Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience booking with cheapoair; neither the website or agents were very helpful. I believe it's not too much to ask for agents to check for other flights or for them to ask if I have any other questions. If that's not listed in their job requirements, then that's unfortunate for me.

I received several emails stating that there had been schedule changes to my flight, but neither the email or website told me what had changed. The website continued to only show my original booking and a little notice that there had been changes, but no information on what. As I am in a different time zone, I had trouble talking to agents. Finally, I received an email that stated my flight had been cancelled and there was an alternative flight available an hour later. I requested to change my booking, I did so but never heard from Cheapoair again. Then, I inquired about my flight status through the live chat after waiting on them for an hour and being disconnected many times. I was told that my original flight had been cancelled and that there are no alternative flights available. They did not give me any options to assist my situation, so I requested for a refund. I was told the refund depends on the airline, and the agent said thank you, goodbye. I still had questions but was being shut down. Finally, I was told I could check my refund status after 15 days. However, I had also asked a couple of times whether there are any other alternative flights on any other day that I could switch over to, and the agent cut me off by just saying thank you and leaving.
Also, I was told that the Traveler Assist's fee that cost $14.95 is nonrefundable. The fee was for selecting seats for my original flight, a step required of me, so I find that it is unacceptable that it will not be refunded even though I will not receive those seats / services. I do not understand why the fee is nonrefundable even though it is connected with my original flight that was cancelled. I believe all services I do not receive should be refundable.

Can someone with the right authority please please put this third party company out of business and out of our lives.
This company provides you with the worse possible service experience one can ever have. It is so ridiculous that I can not call this service, no one should have to pay and loose their money for such awful service.

Our flight was cancelled to Cebu by the government, not COA's fault. What was their fault was the numerous lies I was told over and over while trying to rebook our flight over the next3 hours. They first said that we had to call the airline because the airline cancelled the flight and took control of the ticket. My 1st call to the airline confirmed that this was a lie. That morphed into they needed a waiver code from the airline in order to rebook us because our new flight would be more than 48 hours after the cancellation. 3 calls later after numerous arguments with the airline I got the code. After 4 calls back to COA and either getting someone from India that I couldn't understand or had dropped the call we were told that the plane they could have gotten us on a hour sooner was now full with only one seat remaining not the 6 we needed. I will NEVER EVER IN MY LIFE BOOK A FLIGHT THROUGH THESE LIARS AND SUGGEST YOU DON'T EITHER! I am now 3 hours and 15 min into trying to get us booked on a flight without using CHEAP O AIR

Bait and Switch

We booked flights that included a 2 hour layover in Frankfurt Germany. Cheapoair revised our flights the following week for a TWENTYNINE HOUR layover in Frankfurt. So then we would arrive over a day later. Of course I contacted cheapoair and they said they could not find another flight for that day. I searched the direct airline site and there were MULTIPLE flights going out that day they could put us on... BUT cheapoair told me if they revised our flights to a REASONABLE layover time we would have to PAY the difference. I did buy flight insurance with the original tickets but that didn't matter either to cheapoair - the Bait and Switch company. This was the first time we used the cheapoair site. Also the LAST time we will ever use them. We also submitted a BBB complaint against this bait and switch company.

Hidden fees

We have a credit due to COVID since our flight and trip were cancelled. The CS rep said it was a $70.00 per person reissue fee although we were told there would be no change fees. Changing the name of the fee does not change anything. We would gave a credit still and were told we could not use the money for any additional things like seat upgrades or luggage. To use the remaining balance we would need to book another flight and we would be charged a 2nd reissue fee for each person. Unethical.

The customer service is terrible at best. I tried to book a ticket and as I was in the payment process received a message that my payment could not be submitted. I tried again and was successful (with a $200+ fare hike in a matter of minutes). Upon checking my credit card statement I had been charged for the original flight that could not be submitted as well as the new flight that I had fully booked. For the next 3 days no one could get me in contact with the right department for a refund, multiple people gave me multiple stories and every call plus 1 chat was disconnected. I was ultimately able to receive a credit but also had to fight for full credit only because the total trip involved 2 airlines. Once I use my credit I will never use CheapOair to book anything again and I suggest you do the same.

Horrible Services

I've had so many bad experiences with them. Although I just booked with them twice. They are dishonest, lie to your face even after I caught them red handed, and are cunning. But they do the job sometimes.
But I admonish you to not go with them. There are plenty of other travel agencies.

I used cheapoair for years; however their customer service is unacceptable! I was on hold for two hours and when agent answered me, I could hear that she was outside somewhere in the park, hearing children's voices and screaming. I told her I had emergency to change the ticket, since cheapoair changed my ticket without asking me and gave me whole new 9hours of layover when I had 3. She just got rid of me by telling that system was down. I could barely hear her voice, because of the wind. This situation is very unprofessional. I asked her to call me back when system would be up, she said she can't take any of my info and can't call back. I guess she couldn't write it down in the park.
Chat is also a mess, I was waiting for an agent to reply me forever. Will never buy from here again!

BEWARE the Flexible Ticket Insurance is only good for 24Hrs. That's $1.12/min protection. Also the airlines (United) changed flights several times and wanted more money. Be alert when dealing with CheapOair We had to cancel ($140) because my passport did not arrive because of Corvid delays by OUR Government!

Our trip was canceled last year due to Covid, when we went to use our credit for a new trip. There were several stipulations. 1. We had to rebook using the same Airline. Which the flight we had looked was a different airline. I had already booked my family on the other flight. Therefore now, my family and I will be separate. 2. Because I had booked Economy on our first flight, I now have to on my new trip, which now costs double what I expected. Customer Service was horrible and was a huge inconvenience. I do not recommend booking with them

Very sorry she had a bad experience, unfortunately as a travel agency we must follow the fare rules mandated by the airlines. The fare had gone up and we had to collect the fare difference, this would have happened even it was booked directly with the airline or any other travel agency. She agreed to the add collect! We also waived off $20.00 per person add collect to help with the additional expenses.

Worst experience with CheapOAir booking
May 15, 2021

I recently booked international flight from India to Canada. This ticket was booked in lieu of earlier cancelled ticket by the airlines since it was not operative due to Covid. When cheapoair customer care booked new ticket using the voucher issued from the airline they charged me ~200CAD extra from what was showing up in there website itself. Upon reaching out to there supervisor they simply said the price cannot be issue to me since its for new tickets. I clarified them I was not the one who canceled ticket but it was airline and they said it cannot be issued. I asked them for billing of the extra charges that they made to me which they have been saying is being charged by airline. They sent me the screenshot of the charges but they sent me the cropped image instead of full charges. In the cropped image I was able to I caught them since it said they paid *******INR (~925CAD) to airlines but they charged me ~1490 CAD. I asked them why there is so much discrepancy and no surprise they didn't respond (even after pinging them many times). It looks like cheapoair is doing the cheapest trick of extracting customer money during this Covid where all customers are already under lots of financial burden due to lost job. I would do whatever it takes to get this fixed.

I booked a flight for a friend of mine to go see her fiancé who is another close friend of mine and "cheap"o air messed up the booking which made her miss her flight... then they tell me they can not refund me the money I spent on the flight that she missed because of them. I WILL NEVER book a flight with them again, they are a very unprofessional company!
