I signed up for the service to sell my car. After I paid, they said there were more requirements which were not closed, such as photos and ID which I refuse to send over the internet. So I asked for a refund, which they refused. They never advertised my car.
As a small used car dealer, they charged me $400 per month to advertise our inventory. After 1 year doing business they increased our rate to $856 per month with no changes to our agreement, and wanted me to sign a year contract to renew. They are just like cable companies... Such a rip off and would never recommend such a shady company
They send out fake leads without phone numbers to make it feel like there is alot of activity. We have gotten so many leads on different cars with the same name and custom responce that it laughable that they deny it.
We have actually used CarGurus to locate 2 vehicles we purchased in the past so when we decided to sell our truck it seemed like a good idea to give them a try. This was a disaster! Our truck was customized by the dealer before we purchased it and has a 6 inch lift. CarGurus has a car fax completed on each vehicle by Autocheck. The check on our truck came back with "frame damage" which they put on our listing. Of course it will not sell with that listed on it! I would not buy it either! CarGurus refused to change it but directed us to Autocheck. They stated the report was accurate due to the fact the truck was customized. Not the same as damage at all! This whole thing has been a disaster and we will never use them again or recommend them to anyone!
Really excellent website to provide the listings of all vehicles according to search criteria. Cargurus helped me to locate the vehicles I wanted to buy and also providing the comparison, features and seller info. It helped me to choose the best deal and save at least several hindered bugs. Thanks to Cargurus!.
I have sold 2 cars on car gurus and have gotten top dollar for both. I used their white glove service to process sale and didn't have to worry about a thing my money was secure and I had a check in 2 weeks. What a great time saver when buying a car as well. Search for what you want, they do all of the price comparing for you saving you hours. Message dealer/seller, go see and test drive the vehicle and purchase. It couldn't be easier. I've read some reviews complaining that the car they wanted was sold before they were able to see, but that isn't anyone else's fault. People aren't going to hold a car for you. There is no guarantee to them that you are going to buy their car, so they will sell it to the first one with the $. They are hard to get a hold of if you want to talk to someone in person. This is why only 4 starts.
Car gurus are helping dealers to hide bad reviews, one of the dealers was showing a BMW X1 for sale without saying it needs a motor replacement while he said it on Kijiji and when I texted the dealer he said the car is good without saying anything about motor replacement, and when I wrote my review, car gurus rejected it, imagine they are helping dealers to hide the truth because dealers pay them but poor customers don't. Stay away from this website and shop properly.
Went to carvision even though i didn't purchase a car Cesar service is awesome. He understood my situation and he tried his best to get me into a car i always wanted. So much to say i just have to come back with a co-signer. He is well organize and and easy to talk to. Unlike some other dealership they force you to get a car. Cesar did not force me to anything he said lets qualify you for a car.
They tried the fake-it-til-you-make-it technique of sending fake leads to car dealers with fake buyer names such as "Fred Abdallah" & "Mohammed Smith"...(Christian & Muslim names together) & Alicianic Debuty & stupid fake names like that. The fake leads say they're interested, while providing no phone # or email, making you have to reply through cargurus, then never reply again. After about 5 fake leads, a cargurus rep calls you to say now that you're getting leads, you have to pay $600/mth. Bull crap is what this site is.
At least if you're going to lie, hire some professionals to do it.
This site is easy to navigate and they have a multitude of used cars. The only real issue I have is this, the car dealerships featured on the site are not responsive. I've sent numerous inquires about cars I'm interested in, but not a single dealership has responded. I don't know if the blame lies with the site or with the dealerships.
I'm so happy I found a 2012 Honda Civic ex-l on car gurus. The man I bought it from privately did such a good job getting the car ready for me. The car is 2012 but is like brand new. So glad I found car gurus to buy great used car.
They charged my credit card 5 times without authorization leading to $700 in charges I called and spoke to someone they would not put me on with a supervisor told me I would have to deal with my bank they do not do any refunds
I checked several places for a quote to sell my car. Car Gurus was the highest. I accepted the offer, submitted information online and scheduled a pick up. I received a FedEx package two days later and the driver called to confirm. However, the morning of pick up no one showed. I called and they apologized and scheduled another driver for the same day. I was slightly inconvenienced, but the new driver was wonderful. Went through all the steps, signed my Bill of Sale and the money was in my bank account the next morning. Overall I'm extremely pleased with the experience. I would have rated a 5 if there hadn't been the first driver hiccup.
I have changed my review for a shady dealership 3 times to get it approved through their very strict vetting process. I almost have to write a positive review to get it approved. I did not even give an opinion about the dealership. I just gave facts about the car that was sold and that's it. It is ridiculous.
Drove 2 hours to see a car that was not as pictured on the site and did not have the equipment as stated in the ad. Dealer advised me that they do not directly post on Cargurus and have nothing to do with what is posted on their site.
Was trying to post a dealer review, Car Gurus requested an email address where I had contacted the dealer. I provided it and they said I had never contacted the dealer. Car Gurus are liars, I still have the emails on my computer. Would not trust any information on their site.
CarGurus are you nuts? Double the rate after one year? You are not the only game in town, we are going with another source. More & more dealers will follow. You are not that good to begin with & barely worth the price you charge now.
They go by how much they get paid by the dealer. This company is fake with fake deals. If you look deep in the market you find better priced vehicles listed on cargurus from different or smaller dealers. You can't find it on the home page I think cuz they don't pay them as much as big dealers
EVERYONE BE WARNED
The online car site cargurus is a fraud.
I listed a nice 2005 Ford Mustang convertible and today I get an email that says I must prove that I actually own/possess the vehicle by sending them a photo of a piece of paper with some secret number in the windshield of the car. Given that the car is currently 800 miles from where I am, that is not possible.
So I know I have pending offers but have no way to respond to them. Sales lost.
So, go the website to find a customer contact number - NONE. Find the customer online talk function not working. Finally get a number and explain to the first person the issue. He tells me politely to hold while I connects me with some b$%^&* who coldly tells me that until I follow their verification process there is nothing that can be done.
I would not list a roller skate with these people and warn everyone to stay far, far away from this garbage company who has no clue of even basic customer service.
I purchased a 2015 Chevy sonic on 10/25/22, purchased an extended warranty that cost me 3k. Was told that the car was inspected bumper to bumper and that I should not have any issues. Its been not even 2 months and the heat doesn't work and now they are telling me that it needs a new timing belt! They want to charge me 1200.00 for the timing belt! They are stating that its not covered under the warranty I purchased and that it is because of ware and tare. How much ware and tare can be done less than 2 months? I purchased what I thought was a reliable car for my daughters who is away in college. She had to drive 1 1/2 to come back home without heat in her car! On top of that the manager Greg Stoll was rude and very unprofessional! He disregarded the fact that I was upset and didn't care! DONT SHOP THERE!
Answer: Everyone I contacted wanted me to purchase in full price
