If you have any type of disability that caused problems in your past please avoid these people. It just is not worth it. The ad that I had placed looking for help for my disabled son was removed because of a problem I had in my past when I was struggling with my own disability.
I signed up just to see what they offer for my sick wife. Never hired a caretaker or interviewed anyone. After a lot of research found out how to cancel. Although they cancelled in Nov they will charge $30 per month until May. What a rip-off.
Signed up once to find a housekeeper, then they continue to charge monthly after. I didn't realize this until i sat down and did a statement check:

I had people messaging me about a job I had apply for asking me to send my checking account information so they can pay me for a whole year before I even get hire it's full of frauds becarefull on care.com
This disreputable company WILL ENROLL YOU IN AUTOMATIC PAYMENTS WITHOUT TELLING YOU. Until you realize that they are helping themselves to your credit card account, they will continue to charge it. They conceal this fact in the reams of verbiage on their terms of service. THEY WILL NOT REFUND HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS THEY CHARGED before you figured out what was going on.
Absolutely crappie that you have to pay to see messages from potential employers. Why should I have to pay money to try to get a job? That makes absolutely no sense, it's a SCAM.
Care.com doesn't care about its members!
They have terrible customer service. Good luck trying to reach someone or resolve any issues. Their customer service is outsourced to the Philippines. Poor service from the call center. Every request is a NO. They don't allow you to talk with a supervisor too. You can only email them. They must receive so many complaints on a daily basis! The corporate office sucks too. I left messages for several people, but no one returns phone calls. They don't give a $#*! about members, and I had a paid premium membership for 6 mos. This is how they treat paid members. Such poor service. Unprofessional company.
During my membership, I received messages from Fraudulent accounts and scammers all the time. The website did a poor job at thoroughly filtering out all the junk messages. They can do better.
I would say 90-95% of my messages were never opened or replied to. Very frustrating. Especially as a member who's paying to contact the families.
There are class action lawsuits against them.
Do your research. Don't waste your time, energy or money on care.com!
They took payment and cancelled my subscription without providing the service. Under the terms and conditions they reserve the right to take your money and not provide you with the service. It seems that your credit card company is likely to accept this as what seems like a "legal scam".
Do not give them money. They do NOT care about people at all. They say it is a one time fee and then they charge you each month without telling you. They wouldn't refund my money even though no service was provided because my job was over. They aren't on Yelp or the BBB because of these immoral business practices. People who have young kids don't have time to go through every charge on their bank bill. Shame on (non) Care.
Shelly W is always on time, is extremely friendly and always a pleasure to see You will like her very much.
Shelly W has been cleaning my house for over 6 months and she is very reliable and does an excellent job I would highly recommend her for all your cleaning need

I have been using Care.com to find my nanny jobs and for some reason my account will get deleted. I pass the background check and I'm respectful to all the families I speak with.
I put so much time and effort Into this website and my account is constantly being deleted and I have to restart from base 1. They even charged my debit card for my subscription but they cancelled my account.
I love this website as I have always been able to find really good jobs but I will have to be finding a new website.
I would give this company a 0 if I could. Paid for 1 month membership and still was charged for an automatically renewed premium membership with no emails sent to inform us about the charge.
Do not use this company! I have submitted them to the Better Business Bureau. Also reported fraudulent billing to our credit card company.
A sales person kept calling me until I upgraded to a premium account. When I needed help after that, I couldn't get anyone to return my emails nor calls. Then they billed me twice and wouldn't return my money.
Had an account that was closed by care.com without even telling me why! I just had an interview with a family on Friday and seemed that I was going to get hired. Now I have no contact other than knocking on their door but who would do such a thing.
Very upset with this company and the way they handle their business. I have plenty of years of experience with children, preschool teacher and nanny experience.
Do not even bother with care.com. They are the worst!
We hired 2 different people from this site and we got alcoholics with mental issues who are a danger to elderly. Shame on you Care.com!
I had an account with them for years. I had a nanny who did not show up and took advantage of our family in many, many ways and they permitted her account of what happened without even contacting me. Just canceled my account and then, on top of every thing else, after my account was canceled, they chargeD my debit account over $630. They are trying to claim that the charge went through Apple and therefore Apple has to deal with the refund; however, it is clear through my bank account that the charge came direct from Care.com. My account was closed on September 13 and they never responded to a single email or phone calls.
My daughter is having a major issue. Yesterday one of her clients got about 10 emails from care saying they were "refunding the monies paid" to my daughter and then she (the client) tried to access her account and it is gone. Doesnt even recognize her email address. She had paid for a full year. She alerted my daughter of the problem and then my daughter tried to access her account and it is also gone. They both have been in touch with Care.com and have been given no answers. My daughter had many excellent reviews and a 5 star rating. They sent her job alerts yesterday that she replied to and now has no access and looks foolish for not being able to get back to people. Luckily she has many jobs already, but they are ruining her reputation with her not being able to reply if people tried to contact her. Also have seen all the terrible reviews here and elsewhere. It is scary and fraudulent. Maybe a class action lawsuit needs to be brought against them. I see many other people on here with the same issue. It is disgusting and I am going to take it to the BBB of their state and check with my friend who is a lawyer. PS Another of my daughter's clients did her OWN paid background check on her (my daughter) and it was 100% clean. So there is no reason at all she should have had her account removed. Not that anyone at all will tell her why her account is missing. Same with the woman she sits for. It is a travesty.
Just this morning, a day after paying for a background check, I get an email stating they closed my account because I am a business and not an individual. I'm an individual as far as I know. They wanted me to follow the link to their marketing and ads so I had to pay to advertise the new account I was to set up. I first joined care.com in 2007 although my account stated 2016... they eventually asked I make a new account to go with their new system so I did and of course lost all my info. I never truly used care.com because of all the issues over the years, but I had noticed my new location had a number of interested persons looking for pet care. I work from home and can provide such kind of care. I spent quite a bit of time setting up my bio and calendar yesterday once my background check came in all clear. All a waste of time. I am asking for a refund of the background check and I will never go back to care.com after 12 years with an account.
I had my care.com account for many years and they asked to do a free background check for the past 7 years at which I consented and then all of a sudden I get a message for them closing my account. I ask them why they said they sent my background to me and I was given 10 days to dispute it at which neither of them I recieved. So they closed it and I called the place they got my background check from and they sent it over and it clearly showed I had nothing on my record in the past 7 years so they closed my account for nothing and when you called them they cant tell me why they closed my account its was apparently a secret to them! They clearly need to be sued over money I could have made...
I had a profile on Care.com for 11 years. My profile was a great source of personal pride. I had 16,5 star reviews, I was in the top 5% of Care.com Nannies. One afternoon in June, 2019 I googled Care.com looking for a contact number because I was having problems with my profile. To my horror I immediately found the first of many news articles, numerous lawsuits because Care.com had deliberately misrepresented background checks. Children have been hurt and murdered by Nannies hired through Care.com, the Massachusetts Attorney General sued Care.com for taking money from parents that trusted the Care.com site and found later they paid for background checks, that were never done. The most recent news says the founder and CEO has resigned amid continuing scandal. To be blunt I think she belongs in prison along with anyone else in that company that took money and said they did background checks but didn't, unconscionable.
My refrences are real, my work with newborns and their mothers and fathers the light of my life. I will not have anything further to do with Care.com.
Answer: Hello, I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and they are currently investigating Care.com. This is important enough to me that they have scammed me out of 6 months of payments and I had to close my credit card for Fraud. If you have had a bad experience with Care.com, I would encourage you to file a complaint with BBB. If enough people complain, then they will take more serious action. Here is the website. It is a short process to submit a complaint. https://www.bbb.org/consumer-complaints/file-a-complaint/get-started
Answer: Steer clear from Care.com or what we prefer to call Care-aless. Com! They are only about profit for them. The site is for trollers that prey on innocent families. You'd be better off putting an ad in your local newspaper. Most local newspapers also have online readership too!
Answer: I am determined to shut this site down. I am contacting news programs, The Today Show, Good Morning America and any and all others. Shut them down!
Answer: This is so sad! I have been on both sides as I have an assisted living home in Pensacola Florida. I used care.com to staff my home; awful. Then when I had myself on as a provider they suspended me for a 14 year old non viloent misdemeanor, and they did not even have my permission to check past 7. They want you to get crappy providers, the good ones are kicked off because once ya get a good one, you no longer need them. Cash cow corrupt company who makes rules up as they go along, I heard 20/20 is doing a special. I plan to contact them, as I am verifiably the best care coordinator hands down, extremely good with direct care. You will only ever be returned 1 month contact the Federal Trade Commission file a complaint that's what I did, the more problems the better the case against care, com
Answer: I would be cautious. I hope she is not moving for the job, as that is NOT a good idea. I get text messages daily from people asking me to email them (often for a friend), or someone coming from out of town or whatever. I delete these right away. First of all, they should go through the regular website and email you. No one would hire anyone without first meeting them, checking references, etc. I am sitting at the home of someone I took with through the Care site. I first communicated via email, then set up a face to face and met the kids. If it seems too good to be true, it is. USE COMMON SENSE! Seriously, if you don't have common sense you really shouldn't be taking care of kids, pets or anyone else!
Answer: Your guess is as good as mine. Maybe they have a big money backer and can screw people of their money and lack of customer service? They should be called, I don't care.com
Answer: If I were you I'd choose another site. Care.com is terrible.
Answer: Some of the clients are looking for cheap labor through the internet for housekeeping. I usually tell the person to call me back for interview finish. Then I would tell them that I am self-employed and they would need to file a 1099 for taxes to IRS.
Answer: Care.com is set up for parents that pay for the service... Parents can enroll for free and place and add. However, If they do not forward their credit card any messages from caregivers will have a blocked phone number. The babysitter cam also enroll for free and make a profile for her services. However if she does nor forward her credit card she can only apply to 8 jobs every 28 days and only the ads from parents that have paid for an account will be able to contact her. DO NOT respond to anyone contacting you on your phone that did not contact through Care.com first... This is always a scam... The message will look like this: I am moving to your area soon and need car for my son/daughter. Kindly respond to my email.(They are looking to scam you for money.)
Answer: Sitter city.com could help you. I have honestly had nothing but problems with care.com. They make up rules as they decide not how things are written and do not follow their own privacy policy. They feed on single moms and dads. As well as children providing for aging parents You can place an add on Craigslist as well, for free and your prospective employee provides their own background check as it can be a most recent one and obtained by themselves at 5 to 10 dollars
