I purchased the Platinum Shield cover for my Toyota Tundra. I purchased the top of the line because they said it came with a lifetime warranty. After 4 years it started ripping on the end where it got morning sun. I contacted CarCovers to see about a replacement. They agreed to replace it but were going to charge me $137 plus tax! I originally paid $221 for it. Not really a life time warranty in my opion. Better off just purchasing the less expensive cover and replacing it in 4 years. I will not buy from CarCovers in the future.
I ordered a cover for my Lucid Air. It did not fit the length of the car; would not go completely under the rear bumper, leaving most of it exposed. I went through their return/support group where they asked for photos and a photo of the numbered tag. They APPROVED the return and based on the fact that I was returning it for this reason, their policy clearly states I would not be charged for any return shipping. Lastly, they send a link for a label and said I'd be charged $21 (a portion of their discounted shipping plan). I called and was treated very RUDELY; she put me on hold and spoke to a manager, returned and lied saying it has NOT been approved. I disputed with Mastercard & told them this process would cost them for the bank's time and it would be a negative against their reputation/score with Mastercard. Finally, because I'd been with MC for so long, they went ahead and gave me full credit, confirming the true costs to this ignorant, horrible company.
I would have loved to given this company a great review 2 years into this alleged 10 year warranty. What they don't tell you is that it depreciates upon purchase. So they then try to pretty much charge me the full price for a new car cover that literally started to fall apart not even at the seams just started getting holes all over the place. We're now three and a half years in and the car cover is completely done. I wouls just say buy it from someone else because their warranty is a scam.
I ordered a top tier car cover from carcovers.com thinking that it would protect my corvette from the elements. I've had it for less then 3 months and every time it rains, I noted that it seemed to allow water through the cover. I sent a request to the customer care center and they were not any help at all - asking me to send pictures of the cover and wetness, which I did; only to have them say it is normal to gave 1% of rain get through as the "holes" in the cover allow it to breath. Well, this "cover" allows a heck of a lot more then 1% of water through as my car is as wet as it I had no cover on it in the first place. The cover only traps the moisture and then allows the moisture to bake into your vehicle. Stay away from this company and look for an alternative companies. I wouldn't have been so disgusted if the customer help would have made a suggestion, but they just kept telling me this is normal... a car cover is to cover and protect the car from the elements, not just sit there to have the appearance like it's protecting the car. Not impressed.
Original purchase was on 12/8/2021. I bought the ultimate for a 2017 GMC Sierra with shell. They upgraded me to a Platinum for free. Supposed to be a lifetime warranty. On 9/3/24 I filed a warranty claim because the cover was tearing in a couple places. They only would offer me a replacement of the Ultimate not the Platinum. I was also charged $78.94 as a prorated adjustment. On 9/19/2025 I filed another claim for the replacement cover. It was deteriorating and turning to dust. I had only used this one for 10 months as I used the original until it fell apart. This time they offered another replacement cover for $72.00 plus $19.00 shipping plus tax. I will not be spending more money on an inferior product.
I bought 3 covers 9 months ago and one is deteriorating badly! When reaching out to customer service, they had be upload a bunch of pictures, the sku number, etc. only to say 'sorry, it is what it is'! Do NOT WASTE your money here, go elsewhere as they do NOT back their products and the 'warrant' is a scam!
$200 premium car cover lasted 16 months. Submitted a warranty claim and they said it would cost me $100 to get a replacement cover. The stitching deteriorated, the cover cracked and falling apart. They will never honor the warranty they sale you on.
The overall quality is great but that is it. The cover doesn't stay on the vehicle when there is high wind. I have buyer's remorse spending so much on something that is rarely on the vehicle.
I order for specific year and model cover, but it does not cover the front and back completely. Not worth the hassle and expense to return. Very disappointed. :(
For your information:
I bought several outdoor car covers from this company (4 Platinum covers) because of their warranty. I never made a claim until now. I found out that the lifetime warranty is prorated and they don't cover the shipping.
I bought a platinum cover for my Bentley in January 2024 and sometime in August-September. When it rained I noticed that the car was wet with the cover on. So in November I called and filed a claim and it was accepted.
They sent me a replacement which I had to pay (19.98 for the cover and 19.00 or so for the shipping) because I found out that the lifetime warranty against manufacture defects was prorated. If I would have called to file a complaint at the six month period, the cover would have been free, however I would still be responsible for covering the shipping charge.
I called them because they sent me an open, unused(?) cover that was returned. They advised me that the cover was fine but if there were any issues with the cover, to call them back and they would send another. I placed the cover on the car to test it because it was going to rain that evening.
The next day I went to check on the car and it was wet. I called them to complain and of course I got the run-around. They said that it was normal for some water to go through, but because the cover is breathable, it was gonna dry up and not damage the paint.
The advertisement states," Best defense against water, sun, dirt, & debris". I don't understand the water part because my car was wet. What does best defense mean, No water was going to enter?, Some water was going to enter the cover? Maybe not putting the cover on so that the cover wouldn't get wet was a better idea. Either way the car was gonna get wet with the cover on or off.
To test the cover I hosed the trunk part of the cover with water and it appeared that the water did not go through. Maybe it was condensantion that rainy night.
The pros: It is a sturdy cover against the sun.
It protects against some dust.
It process against debris.
Decent customer service for the claim portion.
The cons: Not water proof!
Life time warranty is prorated.
I hope this review helps
New cover. Pulled it back after 1st rain storm. Paint finish ruined. No issues with prior CC cover which company replaced because it ripped.
My Platinum car cover didn't even last 4 years before multiple tears and a prorated replacement would cost me $95 that's the lifetime warranty (aprox 8 years I guess)
Purchased a premiere top of the line car cover in September 24, paid extra for the wind gusset clips and Bunji chords. Right out of the bag two out of four clips broke while applying them. Called and they replaced them. October of 24 another clip breaks. Called to complain, all they were willing was to refund me the clip accessory purchase $16. Would not allow me to return the cover due to it being passed the 30 day period. Not cheap, live in the NE, need the wind hold downs, should not be a customer's responsibility to figure out a way to secure this cover without gromets installed by the manufacturer! Don't waste your hard earned money.
Bought a trailer cover and had on a month and first storm that came through caused tears and they won't replace says they don't cover winds which is ridiculous since their website says it is guaranteed. They said we can buy a replacement but need to pay for half. Trying to send back for refund. Poor customer service and cheap covers.
Is very heavy and soft against the paint. Elastic does not keep it hugging against my SUV. This company This company will never let you stop there emails. They will bombard you two and three emails a day. Do not purchase from this company or you will find out what I mean.
I purchased the best outdoor cover they offered for over $200.00. The fit is jusy okay and the elastic that wraps around the car is weak. The cable they give you to secure the cover side to side is useless. Their should be spots to secure the cover from side to side and front to back to keep the wind from lifting the cover. For the price not worth it.
I had ordered another cover through the website, and I knew it wasn't quite the right description of my actual car, but figured it was what they now have. It was HUGE, to say the least. I called the company to see what could be done, and they offered to exchange it for the cover style number I'd gotten before, altho it wasn't listed with the other options. I've had the top for a couple of weeks, but just was able to try it on the car. It's so much better. It's actually a little snug, although it is made exactly like my original one, and I'm sure it will relax with time. It's a different type than I'd gotten before, as this one is for outside and the other was only for inside and the material they are made from is different. I am so very pleased about the whole experience, and definitely recommend CarCovers.
I ordered a cover for a 1975 MB 450SL. Carcovers.com did not ask me to specify if mine was the Euro or US version. It is the US version and has extended bumpers. The cover I was sent does not fit. It is too small. They know it is too small because when I reached out to them they asked me to send pics (which I did). That was weeks ago. Since then...nothing. Email after email goes unanswered. I am beyond outraged. PLEASE DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH CARCOVERS.COM
Bought a cover for my Yamaha wave runner and my wife and I had to pull like crazy to finally get the cover on working up a sweat. Called customer service explaining that it didn't fit. He said to send photos of the cover on the jet ski which I did. They said because we got it on the ski that it didn't qualify for the free shipping under the exact fit guarantee policy and I had to pay to ship it back. The cover is made in China and the customer call service is in the Philippines. Website says they are a Memphis Tennessee company. Very deceiving. They don't stand behind what they advertise.
I received on time the video described how to make hole for antenna but didn't mention grommet so I was confused. Cut hole then realized there was a front and back. After repositioning my hole was on wrong side and after speaking with customer service realized there was a plastic grommet shipped and not cloth kit. Anyway using cover but has two holes in it!
Quick to reply, asked questions and made sure I ordered the right cover for my RZR. Shipped quick, great cover
Answer: It seems to be. The problem is that they do not know how to sell the product and they do NOT have a liberal return policy.
Answer: ZERO customer service! Rude and absolutely no help.
Answer: Their products are made in CHINA, and you know exactly what that means when it comes to quality,(or lack of), stay away!
Answer: I had the same problem and their Costumer service claimed their fit guarantee is not valid because of a "modification" note box at the very bottom of the checkout process. They did provide an exchange (at my cost) but the larger cover still does not fit correctly. I would not recommend them for motorcycle covers.
Answer: Sorry: www.CarCovers.com provided me with zero/no free gifts. All they wanted were additional NONSENSE fees.
Answer: Yeah looks like fleece but started to breakdown into dust on my car after only 6 months and bought their "best" cover.
