I have shopped with them before, but have a hard time shopping at any online store that does not offer free returns and exchanges! It is hard to always tell colors online or how an item will look once on and if you can't make exchanges for free, well then, forget me as a customer. Carbon 2 Cobalt charges $7.95 for any exchange or return which is PATHETIC! At most, exchanges should be FREE! I will not shop ANYWHERE that does not offer FREE exchanges! Don't waste your time shopping at Carbon2Cobalt!
As so many other reviewers have said, there is a huge disconnect between the appealing catalog photography and what actually arrives at your door. It would be hard to describe just how cheaply made these clothes are - sloppy stitching, ill-fitting sleeves, shabby material. They look like they are actually factory remnants or "B" stock quality. Even at 1/3 the price they would be overpriced. I am not always happy with my online purchases, but I only feel compelled to write a review like this maybe - oh let's see - I never have before. What bothers me the most is that this entire business model seems to have been built with cynical intentions from the very beginning: spend a lot on hype, deliver ultra-low quality merch with a massive profit margin, and even if we have a 25%+ return rate we're still getting rich. Also, the website will charge you an inflated shipping fee - unless you call them before placing your order to complain, and then they will waive the shipping charges completely. But you gotta ask them - they are not proactively offering free shipping.
Free shipping w/ $100 purchase but clothes are priced at $99. Impossible to figure out how to unsubscribe from their emails. Really don't like this company even though their merchandize looks nice.
Cannot comment on clothing or its quality But 1 time ordering using coupon using COUPON THEY SENT ME it would NOT work! Customer Service does not reply. Gave it a break weeks later more email ads and coupons SAME THING again NO CUSTOMER SERVICE - Both times these were over $500 orders - Without good customer service I do not do business. Over 1 year ago I tried cancel their flyers well they are still coming and trashed immediately now they are addressed to "Billy Bob'' - This is definitely a company I would NEVER purchase from - BEWARE
Just recieved the first ever catalog ( its x-mas time) and on a average the pricing of the clothing is around, let's say $100. Items running between $50 and $155. Looks attractive and many items I can see myself wearing, but, near the end of EVERY item description is the word IMPOTED. I learned a few years ago DO NOT PAY $100 for a imported items of clothing! So made for $18 and sell for $100? Then there's shipping, because it came on a ship and its passed on to you.
I received some items for Christmas. I live in Canada and my daughter sent it to me from United States. Best shirt and blanket I've ever had. Thank you
Returned item I purchased paid for shipping and yet fees were deducted from refund I have been lied to about receiving money on several occasions The merchandise is way overpriced and Customer Service is horrendous and unacceptable check around and you will find items just as good and less expensive
Ordered a bath robe on 11/10/20, shipping within California. One other order arrived in 2 days. Tracking says UPS hadn't received package yet, it still says that today (11/24)
Just got off from talking to their Customer service, telling me UPS picked up the package and they have to wait for UPS to investigate, another 10 days. She then lies to me and says that is what the tracking says.
This is what the tracking says:
11/11/202 5:08 AM
Shipper created a
Label, UPS has not
Received the
Package yet.

Package never left their warehouse. This is 2 weeks ago! Shipping within California!
This company is a facade of a professional company, they are not.
My Son's is a 6'5" Jr. In Boarding School and REALLY needed to upgrade his wardrobe from the T-shirt/track pants athlete look - he never "likes" anything. I'm his Dad and picked out a half dozen things (tall sizes!) and he agreed to almost all of them. Every few days I got a call, unusual in itself for a HS boy, telling me he's getting complements on his new clothes, but of course doesn't say who is giving the complements.:-) The order was accurate and promptly delivered - half to our house and half to his school. The cloths are very stylish and well constructed - not the kind of thing you'll find at a Mall. I'm an attorney and wear custom suits to Court so I'm familiar with good cloths. I bought a few things for myself to wear on the weekends and it's casual, comfortable and stylish. I don't expect these cloths to last as long as my suits but it's a fair price. People never take the time to write a review if it goes well but go right to one star if anything is off... I wrote this review because my Son finally liked something with some style (very stylish hoodies, pullover and shirts - small steps people, small steps) and he's enjoying some complements. I'm also happy with how I look.
With shipping, I paid $175 for an "Enigma Blazer." It arrived 3-weeks later, was WAY too big (like, comically large), and seemed cheap. I sent it back to get a medium and received it about 3-weeks later. It came very wrinkled and again felt extremely cheap -- the material is literally see-through when you hold it up to the light. So I washed it, following the directions on the tag (cold water, low dryer heat) and the wrinkles got worse. I tried to iron it on very low heat, as low an my iron would go -- again as directed on the tag -- and the material immediately got shiny (i. E., burn marks). Plus I noted that the stitching around the chest pocket pulled in the wash, leaving an unsightly partial u-shaped line visible from the front. So essentially it is unwearable. $175 completely wasted. I will never purchase another thing from this store, and possibly never purchase clothes online again after this experience. Total waste of money. This company puts together slick advertising campaigns, but their clothes are the cheapest, Made-in-China stuff you can find.
Disappointed with a jacket that I over paid. Pockets where sewn way to far back and another jacket not even deep enough to hold a phone...Come on you can do better.
The men's Gloaming Sweater looks luxurious and comfortable in the catalog. IN ACTUALITY, there are TWO major things wrong:
1.) Sizing - I have worn a size "Large" in sweaters my entire adult life - THEIR large is actually a medium - their sizing is OFF
2.) The quality is SO-SO - the sleeves and bottom immediately developed a 'roll' since there is no seam or finishing
BIG disappointment
Bought pants and sweater
Size on pants was way to small then any other size I wear. Charge for return or exchange. Forget the exchange. I'll take my business elsewhere.
I ordered a leather jacket, looks nice in the pics. $599.00 It got put on backorder and then I found it on two other websites for $79.00. They do not make the clothing, it comes from China.
Beautiful catalog. Sh*t clothes. T's with collars that pucker after 1st wash, polos with collars that are thin and flimsy. I fell for the beautiful pics. No more.
Purchased one pair of boots. Looks like a returned product. Has stains, crack and a wearing off condition. The vendor shall not ship the product with such a condition. Will return.
Color online didn't match color that I received...must use some different lighting...one was bright one was dull
On October 6,2021, I ordered some clothing for my son. I have ordered numerous times from this company in the past and never had a problem. The order appeared to go through on my end and about an hour later, I received an e-mail from Carbon2Cobalt stating that there was a problem with my billing address and the card declined. I called them and they put it through again and it still declined. I have lived at my address for 26 years and never had this problem in my life. So, we decided to cancel the order. I checked my bank account about an hour later and both declines actually went through and I am out of pocket now about $1900. Carbon2cobalt states this is a bank issue and the bank says no, that they have accepted the money and it is authorized. Here it is 3 days later and I am still out the money. Wells Fargo is doing an investigation but Carbon2cobalt says that the money will be returned to me "eventually" and usually no longer than 3 days. I will never purchase from this company again! There was nothing wrong with my address, and the declines actually went through but Carbon2cobalt refuses to acknowledge that they have done anything wrong. Also, on one of the calls a person by the name of Elena told me they would have a supervisor reach out to me... that was on Thursday, October 7, and no one has reached out. Very poor customer service and in my opinion when you take money from someone twice and they don't have an order, it's considered fraud.
I bought a couple button-up casual shirts and other sweatshirts/sweater types couple years ago and I still receive the very enticing catalogs periodically. Let me say, the catalogs make you want to throw caution to the wind and drop some extra money to get some stylish, unique casual clothes. I spent about $400 on a few shirts and ended up sending all but one back immediately because the items looked nothing like the catalog photos. Luckily I didn't have the return issues I have read others experienced but it did take longer than normal to see the refund appear on my bank account. But I kept one shirt that looked pretty good but after washing one time, per directions, it was a crinkled-up mess virtually impossible to iron and the fit was terrible. It shrunk even washing in cold and hang-drying. I ended up using this $100 shirt as a painting shirt. It's too bad the catalog always has some "cool" items that make you rationalize spending high prices but DON'T DO IT. I got lucky with my return it seems but you WILL be disappointed with what you get for the money you spend. If you want to spend that kind of money just stick to Polo or Orvis
Ordered a sweater for $118, and returned it for size reasons (large was too large, medium was too tight). Got a $63 dollar refund. This is not right. Will not order from them again.
