I don't think this company has enough inventory to support their catalog. I love the clothing but the wait time is beyond ridiculous. If you have 6 weeks or longer to wait then by all means proceed. This has happened on more then one occasion. I definitely will no longer purchase from this company.
Quality 8/10. Almost all items made in China
Size runs large but I like that
Charges reduced return shipping
FYI same company as 32 Bar Blues
Very pricey
A lot of their clothing requires special attention for washing instructions
Customer service is no help and takes forever to get them.
I'd give them 2.5 but not 3 stars so 2 stars... I very much think they should rethink where their manufacturing is done.
I ordered gifts for my son for Christmas and they shipped the items to his old address after I had said to have them shipped to my home. I called the company and they basically treated and intimated that I was trying to pull a scam. The manager was supposed to call me in 2 days, no call. Surprise surprise the return showed up the next day. We are talking about a $1,000 order. I had already reordered my first order and was calling my credit card company. I asked if some of the returned items could be sent to me now as some are back ordered or discontinued. No we are working on November returns, have no idea where my return would be, the two places orders and returns are in different buildings. Also I could not talk to a manager. I don't know how this place stays in business.
I will never order from them again. I guess people who Place large orders are a dime a dozen to this company.
I've ordered several items from Carbon2Cobalt and was was pleased. I ordered a fleece jacket after Christmas and it was way to large. A cold weather jacket that needed to be snug around the waist. The purchase was free shipping but the return cost me $11.00. I guess I'm spoiled by LL Bean. That's like walking into a store, trying on an item and if the fit isn't right, it cost you $11.00. Not good.
Purchased a tie-dye t-shirt.
It has to be the WORST t-shirt I have ever bought. The body was too short and too wide. The neck appears to be from 2 sizes larger than what it should be.
With all the negative reviews about poor customer service, I didn't even try them, I just threw it out.
For me, Never again. Save yourself from disappointment and avoid Carbon2Cobalt.
I purchased a shirt for my son and had it shipped to his house. It was too small, so he sent it back and I purchased another one which fit perfectly. The quality of the clothes are excellent. That was 2 months ago and I still have not received the credit for the shirt he returned. I called then and they said they received it, but it takes 3 to 6 months for a refund. WWHHAATTTT? I would have purchased more clothes from them, but they just lost my business forever. Extremely rude customer service rep as well.
My first purchase from this company was a women's hooded composite leather jacket (sheepskin with some knit cuffs and hem). It was very pricey, but fits and looks great (and would deserve a 4 or 5 star review). My second purchase was the long wool blend "Rive Coatigan". It was so bad (it would be zero stars if that was an option) that it lowered my overall review to 2 stars. What a disappointment! It was quite expensive but the material was thin and cheap, already had a lot of snags, appeared to ball immediately, and collected lint in an instant. It looked like used clothing from Goodwill. I will be sending it back immediately (and sadly have to pay for shipping)! I hope I have learned my lesson and will avoid purchases form this company in the future.
I've ordered several things from them, and I would probably have ordered more except that (a) they charge for shipping, (b) processing and shipping is slow, and (c) you have to pay shipping to return things. I don't want to run the risk of ordering something that I don't like or doesn't fit and I have to return it, because I would have to pay shipping both directions. Also, getting a response from Customer Service on anything takes at least a day.
Maybe shipping is fast if you live in California but elsewhere (Midwest), it is very slow.
I was leary ordering from this company based on the reviews here. So I contacted the company and got an immediate response from an employee from their customer service, Tera. She assured me I would be very happy with my purchase and if I wasn't that I would receive a full refund. I'm so glad I took a chance and ordered two shirts for my husbands birthday. Yes, they are pricey but much better styles to choose from than some of the stores I shopped at the malls. My order arrived quickly, the quality was great, the shirts were so soft and great colors. My husband loved them. So if you are on the fence like I was I say go ahead and give them a try I think you will be pleased. I want to thank Tera for her excellent customer service and I will certainly be buying more for my husband and son in the future.
My wife bought me a $600 leather coat for my birthday and did not save the box and invoice. The coat was too big and I wanted to exchange it for the proper size. We had all the information and C2C promised to send me a return authorization within 24-48 hours. I called after not receiving it every 48 hours I called. Then a supervisor name Jesse Favela said she sent it and even gave dates and times. I looked them up and they were that same general email that is sent that says simply fill out the invoice provided in the box. To this date, I cannot get a supervisor to call or send an R/A. Worst company ever.
I literally was just looking for an online code for free shipping on my order and I stumbled upon these reviews. I stopped dead in my tracks. I was about to order 2 button down shirts and a bracelet for my boyfriend for Christmas. The price tag was over 225.00 plus shipping. Needless to say, after reading these reviews it was a no brainer. Guess I'll be taking my hard earned money and shopping elsewhere. Thank you all so much.
O red red two shirts and when I received the package, one was incorrect. I sent it back with instructions on exchanging it for the item I actually ordered. I had to call to confirm they actually got my return. Then they said it will take two weeks for them to process my return. Three weeks have passed and still no communication from the company. When I call, the recording says there is heavier activity and please call back or leave your number. Still waiting….Worst service I have ever experienced.
I like the design of the artwork, but the T shirt they put it on is cheap & nasty. Turns into a totally shapeless rag after one wearing. They're expensive too. If they'd change the source of the T shirt, I might buy more but not with the current rag.
A year-ish after my last review I decided to try them again, despite my misgivings about the sturdiness of their fabrics. (I just couldn't find visual substitutes for a few attractive items.) Today I received my order. Excellent! Complete improvement, complete satisfaction. Two pairs of shorts, two shirts, and all were sturdy, well stitched (I looked), and as-depicted. There's now a ballpark match in value in my book, and I'll be looking at their updates with an open willingness to buy again. (Oh, quick ship. Less than a week for me.)
I'm okay with these guys -- and I returned everything. Great catalog, right? The merchandise wasn't for me, though. I made about a $750 purchase. $250 worth was back-ordered, and $500 arrived pretty quickly. What I got ended up not appealing to me. I taped up the box, slapped on the included label, drove it over the the UPS store, and off it went. The UPS tracking showed it arrived around noon on a Friday. On Thursday the following week the refund showed up on my Carbon2Cobalt orders page. It took an additional few days for Chase to process the refund onto my Chase Visa card. I knew I was charged $7.50 for the return shipping label (cheap!) and I read my original shipping charge wouldn't be refunded (makes sense). The back-ordered stuff I cancelled by e-mail, since it was matched to the returned stuff. The change showed up the next business day. I'm completely satisfied. I sincerely considered keeping my purchase because the appearance was that attractive. Why didn't I?, these folks seem to have a business model relying on the cheapest South Asian materials and labor (Bangladesh, India, etc.), prices corresponding to more premium materials and production, some really appealing designs, and solid presentation through their catalog and photography. That's the call of the entrepreneur, I wish this company luck, and commend them for apparently-improved returns processing, having read older reviews.
So I'm not sure if they're trying to overhaul their customer service program or what, but after reading the reviews here I had very low expectations. C2C far exceeded them.
I was gifted a sweater for Christmas but it was too big. Sent it back for an exchange but unfortunately it was backordered so I had to wait 3 months. Sweater came but was defective, stitching on the zipper had come undone. Go figure, it was backordered again but this time until September! I let them know and they gave me a gift card for the value of the sweater and let me keep the sweater since I just wanted to take it to my tailor to have restitched in the first place. Very impressed and frankly, on par with customer service you'd expect from Nordstrom or other high end shops. Good job C2C
Placed an order in January for a $89 men's button down shirt. After multiple emails with apologies that the shirt would be delayed, and assurances that it was so worth the wait, I received the shirt at the end of April. What appeared to be a denim shirt was a denim-looking button down t-shirt with collar. Cheap buttons, poor stitching, and artificially distressed to the point I was afraid to wash it. Looked nothing like the photo online. This company uses fancy, misleading, single image, photo-shoot techniques to help make their clothing look way more interesting than it is (this wasn't my first experience with their clothing). It's overpriced, and you'll pay your own shipping to return items you're not happy with. Just look at Carbon2Cobalt items on used clothing sites like "Poshmark" and you'll see what they really sell. Find a more honest and customer friendly online vendor.
Worst company for customer service I have ever dealt with. I had bought a lot of clothes from them and i live their clothes but I will now deal with Territory Ahead. (territoryahead.com) Waited on hold forever to cancel an order because I could not edit the order or cancel it online. Called the (orders phone number) and after waiting on hold for about an hour I got someone on the line that said you can't cancel orders and started giving me another phone number to call. Seriously. I will just call my credit card company and have them stop payment on the order that I wanted to cancel as well as the new order I had placed. Problem solved.
Bought a great looking cable sweater (item #*******) for my son. He's picky but liked the quality of the item, very satisfied. My grandson got a sand colored zippered jacket and also was very happy with it. If I had looked at the reviews first I wouldn't have ordered anything. So I don't get the negative comments. Now I'm going to order something for myself and expect a good result. I will hold off on the cotton/cashmere item until I get the other items and check them out.
My experience with C2C is that they sell good quality merchandise, but their prices are obscenely overinflated. Their shipping rates are no bargain, either. Any retailer not allowing product ratings on their website is immediately suspect. I won't be back.
Ordered a shirt which had a manufacturing defect. (Quality Control?) They want me to pay return shipping if I exchange. That's their policy even if it was their mistake. I will refund my card and say goodbye. Good luck with that policy.
Additionally, they said the shirt was in stock when I originally ordered and later discovered it was back ordered. 4 weeks later. Do they not know their inventory or is Sales afraid I would not order. Integrity?
FYI, BBB complaints are similar. This company has issues. I would not recommend.
