Purchased a firearm online for Store to Store ship. It has been 9 days now and was told it is shipping soon and when it does, it will be an additional 7-10 days. This is not the first time I've heard of this happening but the only time I have purchased one from them and the SAME THING HAPPENS. NEVER will order for a store to store ship order. Apparently it's too much for them
Ordered a kayak before fathers day for almost $700 it is now July 8th and finally received an email that it can not be fulfilled and still waiting on my refund.
Their ad says until January 5 but here it is the 2 of January and add for the m&p shield is gone. What a pos this place has turned into. Will go no more forever. Sportsmans warehouse here i come.
I purchased a new fish finder from Cabelas.ca when they had their big clearance sale 2 weeks ago. The unit was regularly $2800, marked down to $749.99. A confirmation email with my reference number was received and all was good, or so I thought. 5 business days later I received a call saying that they had a "system error" and that they didn't have the unit any longer. The remedy was to give me my money back and a $50 gift cert. Unfortunately I've already sold the unit that was on my boat and I'm now down a piece of equipment that I need to run my guiding business. To buy the comparable unit to the one I sold will be $1300 which puts me out by $550.
My complaint and pleading for a deal on a new comparable unit has fallen on deaf ears and despite 3 calls and asking for a manager to call me back, I still haven't heard from anyone. The Cabela's satisfaction guarantee apparently doesn't apply North of the border. I understand that errors do occur but to not be notified for 5 days is not fair. The unit was promised to be delivered in 7 days using the shipping method I specified.
If you're in any kind of hurry Just go in to the store - it takes 7-10 days if you order online for your order TO LEAVE THE WAREHOUSE - that is absolutely ridiculously slow and poor customer service. They have lost thousands in sales to our family because if you can't move faster than that then you shouldn't offer online as an option. I'll order from Ontario or B. C - sad that I can get an out of province order faster than one in Alberta WHERE I LIVE!
Ordered an item from Cabela's. It came damaged in the box. They would NOT let me send it back. The only way to return it is to go to one of their store's. There's not a store within 50 miles.
Ordered a Reno Fat Cat II pool table on the Cabela's website back in November 2021, with guaranteed delivery by Dec 9. No pool table by the 9th, delayed until the 17th. Understandable as shipping is delayed most places. Then get notified via email from Cabela's on 12/17 that the vendor has canceled all orders until 2022. Even though the item was listed as "In Stock". Even though the item was confirmed for arrival by December 9. Nothing was done by Cabela's and had to pull teeth to get the contact information for GLD Products (vendor who makes the table) This was a Christmas gift and this single handedly ruined Christmas for me and my family. If you want your holiday ruined too, do business wtih Cabela's. If you want the items you order to be fulfilled, then do business with someone else.
Always great products and great deals. They also send you coupons to use on your next purchase. Very easy to find what you are looking for on their site as well!
I just received an order I purchased online at Cabela's and the item looks used with all the dings and scratches. It is a flashlight and the chrome coating has been peeled off. One of the flaps of the box had been ripped off too. All the signs indicate that this is a used product. Don't they at Cabela's check the condition of the item before sending them out?
I considered exchanging the item at the website but the following instruction made me not to bother with the hassle and keep the defective item and don't sweat getting a replacement.
"Thanks for your interest in exchanging! The fastest way to facilitate an exchange is to have a return label issued and use it to return your item. As soon as the label is scanned by FedEx a refund credit will be issued. Then simply place a new order for the item you want in exchange."
I paid $5 for shipping on a $25 item and in order to get the replacement, they have to issue a refund first and then I would need to place another order which would cost me another $5 shipping!
This is a joke and I will never shop at Cabela's again.
Cabela's has a long history of offering products on their website that they don't have access to. You purchase an item, they charge your credit card, and some number of days to weeks later, they cancel your order and say that the item is unavailable. Followed by, "Our customer service team would be happy to work with you to find another item in our inventory that will meet your needs." It's a complete scam. If I wanted another item, I would have purchased that item.
I have literally had this happen half a dozen separate times. Camping gear, firearms, ammunition, etc.
It's 2022. Accurate inventory on a website.
They also leave items on their website for a LONG time when they state they are unavailable to purchase in any way. There was a Walther 10mm handgun on their website for over a year after Walther stopped making the gun.
In other words, they're baiting shoppers with false purchase options that they don't carry with the hope that they'll make a sale of their own products rather than the consumer's choice.
I canceled my Cabela's card and never, ever set foot in these stores or access their website anymore.
They clam that this posting was a mistake, TYPO, NOT TRUE! This is not the first time they do this. So I would not trust these people or company. They calm when I spoke to someone on SUDAY chat that they already shipped it, ALSO NOT TRUE!
Once again cableas doesnt stand up to price matching. They had a Savage recon for 949.00 on sale. Acroos the steert Academy sports had identical model for 799.00 i asked to price match after 10min the guy comes back with a nope our has a different model number. When you look them up at cabelas, Academy, even Savage web site its self they all three had the same number. So once again cabelas do not honor their bull$#*! policy!
Purchased my gun went to pick up, but due to federal law questions that was revised, I answered one question wrong, and they told me come back tomorrow and pick up and the next day I went to pick up, they told me I prohibited myself from purchasing the gun, as a license carry owner, they screwed me up pretty good. Customer service and peoples who work there don't know what they are doing and have no knowledge to be truthful to the customers and blaming federal law for their mistakes! We are in 2023 and peoples still have not learned how to communicate effectively and understand their own policy to explain to other people's, so they don't have to drive 30 miles two days in a row pick up the purchase they made. This is a shame! I will never shop from this place. They told me i can't never purchase a gun from them. It's like they locked me from their system! They blame federal law changes! Federal law is clear, but these peoples work there should know and explain clarify when someone ask questions, answer it, if you don't know, ask your supervisor! Don't be stupid and make other people's look stupid when they come to purchase items! This is shame! People need to take responsibility for their own $#*!! I asked about the questions, and they didn't explain to me what the question was about! Why are they working there? Are they hiring bunch of idiots! Train them then! Don't blame the FEDERAL LAW PLEASE! Train your employee how to communicate! DO NOT BUY GUNS FROM HERE! BETTER OFF SOMEWHERE ELSE! No wonder they have so many sales online to trap peoples!

On 5/20/2022 I purchased Pork Chomps Pressed Bone Roasted Dog Chews-4.5" x 2 qty Cabela's SKU *******. On 6/2/2022 I received the wrong item Instead of 2 4.5" inch bones CABELA'S sent me a 7" bone Cabela's SKU *******. I did not order a 7" bone I ordered 2 4.5" bones Cabela's is refusing to refund my funds as I can not use the 7" it it too larger for my 2 rescue puppies. Cabela's does not care about customer service and is refusing to issue a refund. On 06/02/2022 I called Megan, and Aileen and Veronica at the Cabela's Customer Service # *******444
Was outstanding before bass pro took over. Getting tired of overpriced items made in China. Horrible customer service. My business is going elsewhere.
Bought an outboard from cabelas, worst mistake ever. Gasket blows out everytime i use it. Guy in the service department had a bad attitude, whining cus he hasnt had a lunch while he sits in a salesmens office dooing nothing. Took two days to change a gasket. Took the motor out again after getting fixed and gasket blew out again. Took it back again to get it fixed, this time it was fixed right away but when i took it back out on the water, gasket blewout again. Cabelas told me they had new carburators on the way and it would be a week till they arrived. Three weeks later Cabelas wont answer or return my calls. So i take my outboard and ask for a refund and was denied. Apparently Cabelas dont back the products they sell. And judging by these other reviews they have horrible customer service. Dont waste your time with this corporate scam. Shop local small businesses, they back the products they sell and treat customers with respect.
We are a relatively small dragon boat club in the PNW (Seattle Flying Dragon Boat Club) and recently reached out to Cabela's to help replenish and increase our PFD's (life jackets). This would enable more paddlers to experience a unique on-the-water sport. I can't say enough about working with the General Manager of their Tulalip store. Cabela's has gone above and beyond to make paddling more accessible to anyone wanting to try dragon boat paddling.
I look forward to a continued partnership with a company willing to share with their community.

Answer: Manufacturers test fire. Perhaps they let this one slip through the cleaning process after testing it.
