Definitely my fault, but I advise everyone never to buy firearms from Cabelas! I can't stress enough how bad they treated my sale. And after bringing it back and waiting over a month for them to "fix" the "firing pin" it came back with my rear sights missing... not only that my bolt is in far worse condition after getting it back. Even being an employee for over a year they wouldn't work with me on a new deal. I feel this firearm is unsafe and completely mishandled and encourage everyone to not purchase from them.
I ordered an expensive item that I needed quickly. Their site said it was in stock and they said it would ship the same day. After multiple attempts to find out why I never received it I was told it actually was not in stock and had to be back ordered and they could not tell me when I may receive it. At present I do not know if I'll ever receive it. I hate such dishonesty and will not do business with them again.
The worst outdoor sports business ever! They will throw black friday deals, you will purchase in stock, it then will fall in backordered status then they will cancel the order without your consent or any notification. 3 years in a row, Cabela's always does that. They simply keep your money 3 weeks, invest in some stocks or bonds and profit from banking your money, then cancel your order without honoring the price or the deal offer on a different color or model of the same identical item. That's why academy or your local stores are much better than these clowns. Nothing but disappointment right before Christmas!
I've noticed a vast decline in everything associated with this company since it was sold to Bass Pro Shops. I will do my best to NOT darken their doors or Light up their computer screens or telephone lines again!
I exchanged a dog harness the receipt was incorrect.the new harness was 10 dollars cheaper the customer service person told me since the receipt was incorrect I could Not receive the 10. Dollar difference. I think that was uncalled for do not think I will be back.
Cabelas in East Hartford, Ct has the worst customer service I have ever encountered. Items not priced and no one to price check. Had to walk up front to customer service to get prices. Firearms sales area has a number system they do not use and take people out of turn. Speaking to management was a joke. Did not listen and did not attempt to rectify. Management has not a clue about customer service.
cabelas.com shows wrong photo for the product. Consequently I received not the product that I wanted. It took 40 minutes to reach Customer Service. Another 30 minutes of conversation with grossly incompetent representative who at the end concluded that I need to be transferred to some other, mysterious department that "can take care of me." After 50 more minutes of waiting in the phone queue I finally hung up the phone. I wasted time carefully selecting the product and placing the order online. I received the wrong product. I wasted another two hours trying to correct Cabela's gross error. I hope to never shop at Cabelas again.
Purchase a life time warranty spinning rod from Cabelas and the tip broke. Went into store was told that they did not honor the warranty and I had to reach out to customer service online. I live chatted and was told that their private label rods have a one year warranty and what the warranty was at time off purchase did not matter. Will not shop at Cabelas in future no customer service
I ordered a new Bow 30 days ago, I still have not received it. Their website said it was in stock when I ordered it. I ordered 3 items at the time and requested in store pick up, little did I know all 3 items would come in separate and require 3 trips to the store. Cabelas should never have sold out to Bass Pro.
I have never received worse customer service. I have been a customer for several years. I placed an order and noticed that my old address was the shipping address. With no way to change it on the website I called customer service. After finally reaching someone after being on hold for 30 minutes, I was told it was too late to change the shipping address and that was the problem with being on hold for so long. So, their incompetence was my problem and they couldn't fix it. After another 15 minutes of waiting for a supervisor, my call was dropped. I'm on hold again. Never doing business with them or Bass Pro Shop again
Portly Guy at GPS/Knives 11/29/21 AM, shouldn't be on the floor. Bad customer service and attitude. He himself wasn't knowledgeable enough, feigning soliciting another co-worker's input. Kept me purposefully waiting while puttering elsewhere. The store was not busy. Some great products there, but they can be purchased elsewhere.
Placed an order online for an item on sale. Waited over 12 days and had heard nothing from cabelas. Went online to find out order status only to see that they had cancelled my order without even notifying me.
When I order the item, the nearby (1-1/2 away) store claimed to have some in stock. My order was cancelled because they claimed to not have the inventory to fulfill the order. Modern inventory software tracks what you have in stock. There is no excuse for accepting orders on a product you do not have in stock and do not intend to fulfill.
A review down further notes how they are willing to sell a higher priced item to you once the item you ordered is not in stock. Can't get much closer to illegal bait and switch. The only thing keeping them out of trouble is a stock disclaimer of limited quantities. But they are well aware (by inventory control software) when they are out of stock.
Bought a bass boat in October. Cabelas said it would be at the store in 2-10 days. Never showed up. Cabelas ordered it again. Never showed up the second time. I cancel the order and they tell me that my money would be in my bank account in 2-7 business days. It's been 14 days and no money. No boat. This place is a joke. Quit shopping at Cabelas
Today I went into Cabela's to get a birthday present for my father and no one helps me except customer service girl name Alyssa decided to not ever ask me for any help but instead be following me all around and made me feel completely uncomfortable did not matter what department I was in I look up there she is but not once did you ever ask hey do I need any help anything like that she just was sitting there following me I will never be back to that store I've never felt so disrespected ever in a store if you want to feel comfortable shopping definitely do not go to the store
Made an online purchase of the Cabela's waterproof boa system boots and used my CouponCabin app for cashback and my purchase couldn't have gone smoother. Great product fast shipping and my cashback app worked great. What a wonderful company to do business with not to mention the product is stellar. They fit perfect, look awesome and the price was right.
Stopped in to buy a gun safe, it was out of stock. Couldn't order it in to the store, only to my house at +$180, when they had it in the store a week before. NO SALE. Went and looked online, big Black Friday Sale on safes, bought one, then they cancelled my order because they didn't have stock, even when my store said it had stock. Since BASS PRO bought them, the integration has destroyed Cabela's, they are BP's red headed step child. If I could have given them a 1/2 star, I would have. Stay Away, do business at a reputable retailer, preferably small business.
I paid $279.00 FOR A BATTERY WITH 2 YEAR replacement. I call the store in Buffalo NY. They stated they only replace it for 90 days. They call the battery dept. and he stated just bring it back. I drove up 68 miles and they started giving me the song and dance. Well it got load and they did give me a replacement and said I could not bring it back if it was bad or would not take a charge. They do not stand behind what they sell. They said I would have to call the battery company. They never get me to buy a battery from them. I could have ordered one with FREE shipping for about $60.00 less from Amozon.
Ordered8/21 &paid for. Pickup 9/2 delay paperwork, was told pickup 9/9 again delay paperwork. They dont recognize 3 day law & fact that i have cpl & FFL c&r. Was told they have 30 day policy, i waited... you still dont get firearm just means you have to submit paperwork again & wait B. S. time for refund
Went to purchase a Lowrance Elite 12 ti2, put it in my cart; then the site came up and said if I sign up for their credit card I'll get a discount; I did so, went back to my cart and it was empty! Then said they're out of stock! (site said they had limited stock prior to me signing up for their credit card.

Finally decided to use my $287 worth of club points and purchased a pair of muck boots artcic pro size 12 for 199.99. Order was placed on Aug 1st and on Aug 3rd I receive a status update that my order was cancelled. Did a live chat and the person on the other end (robot?) said they were out of stock and discontinued... I looked at the product on line and (2) days later they are on sale for 169.99 but no size 12. Really disappointed with my first experience shopping online at Cabelas.
Answer: Boa speed lace waterproof winter lightweight boots I got are spectacular. That's actually an understatement. I haven't taken them off since I got them a month ago. Ok maybe when I shower.
Answer: Manufacturers test fire. Perhaps they let this one slip through the cleaning process after testing it.
