Waiting at Cabelas in Green Bay for 48 min at the gun counter, it was not busy. Staff would walk by and not say a word. After 55 min I waved my hand and asked Paul if I could get some help, he ignored me. I asked if I could get some service, he said wait your turn. Helping more than one customer or acknowledging the other customers around would have been fine with me, but being ignored or not even acknowledged is horrible customer service. After I pickup my gun I will close my Cabela's account and never shop at a Cabelas or Bass Pro ever again.
Called within 2 seconds of placing order because their website and confirmation email listed the wrong address and phone number. Said nothing they could do and to call them back after get an email the product had been shipped to wrong address then they would contact FedEx about re-routing. Won't refund money -- not unless item is shipped back to them -- which can't do since sent to wrong address. Crook!
It's now been 16 days since Cabellas received my return. Not one email stating it was returned, which it was on the 28th of December. Called to ask about - Cabella's rep told me it was received and that it can take up to 3 WEEKS to see my refund. 3 weeks? They have the item, it shows received and I'm still waiting for an email and or my money back. Today is the 14th of Jan. I guarantee I'll never be back to Cabellas. I'll make another call on Monday. You know what I have received from Cabella's? 4 emails a day showing me all their products and things to buy. Every time I open my email I get a Cabellas email. I searched Cabellas reviews and now I see their low rating. I'll add to that.
Every time I look at their sight, I click on the "in stock only" button, get excited that they list the gun I want, only to have the rug pulled out from under me way down the description where it says that the item is not in stock, nor can it be shipped to store. Not doing it again.
I have been a Cabela's customer for many years, and generally they have been very good. I have not had a problem with their customer service or general willingness to help you find something, but I really have a problem with their website. IT IS TERRIBLE. The most recent example is: I type in the search bar: "swivel chair for ground hunting blind." What I get is tee shirts and other items that have nothing to do with hunting blind chairs. I have tried 4-5 variations of this with no success. It was easier to google the search and go somewhere else.

I went to the hamburg store today and was so disappointed at the lack of stock in the gun department. Almost no gunpowder, bullet heads, loaded ammo, and reloading parts. I drove almost 2 hours to get there, which i now know is not worth the drive. Ever since bass pro took over it's been a failing store. What a shame. There are not many sporting goods stores like it, but at this rate it will fail. Cabelas, if you are listening fix these problems or sportsman will go buy somewhere else. High prices and no stock, what do you think is going to happen. Signed a sad sportsman.
Cabellas was great until bass pro took over now it is known as the Walmart of sporting goods. Poor if not non existent customer service. Outrageous prices. The gun counter is a joke if you can get anyone to help you you realize they don't want too.
There are a handful of sites I find myself checking often. Cabelas.com is one of them. The selection of hunting related items is always sure to please and from time to time I run across must haves. The site itself is easy to navigate and online ordering hassle-free. Order delivery timely and accurate. Customer Service - quick and knowledgeable. All and all, near top of the list when it comes to quality gear and a reputation of service surpassed by none. Some of the high end items to be found on Cabelas.com would be difficult to procure elsewhere, but they make it easy. Excellent range of items for sale for the black powder enthusiast as well.
In my book, that's a plus. Quality products, beautifully presented.
Returned merchandise which arrived to Cabelas on 01/05/2015. As of 01/14/Have yet to receive acknowledgement or refund. I've called only to receive rotary speech. I paid them in a timely manner so I expect to be refunded its such. Will never patronize this company again.
Placed an order after Christmas when having big sale. Ordered 10 items, all items were in stock. 2 days later 1 item sold out. E-mailed items shipped received 2 items, waited, waited. Couldn't track shipping number contacted company told all items shipped. Company checked, our order never made it to UPS & all of the items we had ordered were now sold out. This company has serious issues on how poorly it is being run. Someone needs to be put in charge & fire a lot of people. How do you not know an order never made it to UPS. Horrible, I will never order from them again.
Order placed 12/15/2020. Three items ordered for elders Christmas present. Two items shipped and arrived 12/19. Third item was to be delivered 12/27 as per tracking number. On January 12 I received an email saying third item has been cancelled. Called Cabellas/Bass Pro, no explanation as to why the order was not delivered. Elderly Father still waiting for his Christmas present from his son. Makes his son (me) look very poor. In turn this reflects as a poor rating on Cabelas.
Cabelas lost two clients today, for good. I call the shop early, and ask the lady if they could appraise my weapon in the evening, and she says yes.
We get there around 6:15, wait for at least 40 minutes. I ask a guy if we have to talk to someone specific for this; he goes to the back of the shop.
He comes back saying that they are about to close and they could appraise it tomorrow. Mind you, we drove 34 minutes to get there just to be dismissed by these disrespectful, lazy fools.
To make matter worse, one of the guys behind the counter kept eyeing my wife the whole time. It's a bald, funny looking dude.
I purchased a spinning reel from Cabela's using their website. The reel came in torn apart hard plastic case. Obviously it was a returned used item. I guess Cabela's opened a new horizon in the business: selling used items as a new. Return shipping is $7.50, that does not make sense to return an inexpensive reel. I have tried to post the same review 5-6 times on cabelas.com, however Cabela's does not accept negative reviews for their business. They accept only the positive reviews like "Cabela's is the best", "best service ever", etc.
Warning for customers: don't be surprised if you receive an used item and can't complain about Cabela's service.
I went into their gun library and was all set to buy a used pistol until they told me I couldn't rack the slide or check the barrel? The salesman then showed me their policy which includes no returns on used firearms. That's the end of it for me. They expect you to buy a non returnable firearm without checking it? It's place for people with too much money and not enough common sense!
The most time consuming purchase I ever made. I had to wait in line for almost an hour to pick up a gun that I had to spend 2 1/2 hours the day before to purchase. Whoever is the one that set up their customer service system should be fired. When you see the employee spending 45 minutes talking to someone about what they might purchase while customers have to wait is rediculous. I have never had to wait at any store so long just to be waited, on... Good bye Cabela's...
I placed an order online and was given a receipt and also received an Email confirmation. A few days prior to picking it up (1 1/2 hour ride) I went online to confirm date and invoice said it was cancelled. I called and waited on hold 25 min for a customer service rep to tell me it was out of stock and profusely apologize. Problem being I was never told it was out of stock, never got an Email or phone call. Terrible customer service.
DO NOT buy from Cabela's. Two sets of In Stock matching hunting parkas and bibs were purchased for our son's for Christmas present. All items were listed as In Stock when we checked out. We received the bibs lightening fast. However, we were told the parkas were changed to back order. We have contacted Cabela's three times via email and three times via phone. TODAY a Cabela's representative that the backorders are in the process of being cancelled because they will not be receiving any more from the manufacturer. After 2 more phone contacts I was told by another representative that this is not true and we will still receive our hunting parkas... sometime.
We spent $150 on play pants? We have been lied to and strung along for 3 months! They want me to return the items... at cost to me, so, they can give me store credit when they have zero product to meet my needs?! They do not even have a parka in a different pattern.
What happened to Cabelas? I grew up with them. Started buying from them in 1973. Always great service and excellent products. Now? I placed an order and days later it finally ships. Not the whole order... just part of it. No explanation. Nothing. Cabelas needs to get it together. They're not the only game in town anymore, and amidst businesses going out of business, they need to be going above and beyond to earn our business. There are too many retailers out there offering the same products, cheaper and with much better service. We don't need them, but they do need us. Get it together Cabelas.
I have shopped Cabelas on line products for years. They DID have the best on line shopping. Easy to use, easy to see items, fast! Not anymore New set up is a joke. My 16 year old kid could do better..
Their prices are a bit higher than preferred, but their selection of used firearms of quality are found in the "gun library"... only the top used firearms make it into the library and that is where you will find the best - they even have a smith who will repair any flaws AFTER the purchase (if there are any)!
Answer: Boa speed lace waterproof winter lightweight boots I got are spectacular. That's actually an understatement. I haven't taken them off since I got them a month ago. Ok maybe when I shower.
Answer: Manufacturers test fire. Perhaps they let this one slip through the cleaning process after testing it.
