Deleted my entire online account for not logging in for 3 months. My entire purchase history, favorites i've been tracking for black friday/cyber monday... all of it GONE.
Customer Service answer? Either a "click/hangup" on the phone or "The agent has disconnected from this chat session.". INSANE! Cancelled my cc with them.
This company is a joke. Place an order, item in stock. Get shipping notification a day or so later. Waiting on the delivery day, Fed Ex truck drives by. Go check email, your item is out of stock, order cancelled, customer service has no further information. Last transactions with Cabela's.
Zero customer service. Takes about a month for delivery (if ever). Do they keep you informed about your order status? Hell no. My first, and last ever again, encounter with this joke of a company. Walmart will outlive this reject company and that ain't saying much. AVOID Cabela's!
I ordered 3 game cams on February 2, received a happy shipment confirmation from Cabela's and nothing has arrived as of March 2. Their customer service department insists it is shipped yet FEDEX has NOT received the items yet. A label has been created only. I am beyond disappointed. Cabela's has been a go to source of gear for 20 years. I do not recommend this company to anyone. Since the merger with Bass Pro quality appears to have disappeared.
After reading a few of these reviews I started to wonder if I had been shopping on the same site. In my case, the products were great, the sales constant and the customer service irrelevant since my purchases arrived in great shape and as promised with good shipping options. What am I missing here? I don't think they missed anything!
I buy an almost $400 grill and the ad read purchase before 2pm and we will assemble the grill for you! Jokes on me when I backed up to pick up my grill in a box! I reached out to the store manager and got a response from someone other than who didn't give two craps about my party plans for that day!
Should've stuck with their competitors!

Ok- Since I wrote this review and another on Facebook, Cabela's Customer Service reached out and orchestrated an exchange or return of the shotgun. I am please now with the outcome and their interest in my satisfaction. I just wish the managers at the store had the range to assess these situations and do the right thing face to face without all of this review reaction.
I purchased two shotguns ~1 month ago along with sites. The guy who sold them to me couldn't find a site mount and said to order on Amazon. When I got home, I realized that there were no holes bored into one of the guns for the mounts and also realized the no return policy on the box. I Was not made aware of this policy at the store. Bottom line is that I was told that my only option is to take it somewhere else to have it machined which is expensive and time consuming since closest business that does this is 45 minutes away and not opened on the weekends. When expressing my situation to "customer service" they explained that "the only option for them was to give me a $25 gift card."
While nice of them, it doesn't really solve my problem and hassle. What ever happened to good customer service and making sure the customer is satisfied when they walk out the door. These big companies need to be punished for this. I'm looking for other options for everything GB I purchase even if it cost a couple of dollars more.
I Love all the Cabela stores and often will make stopping at one of them part of our travels around the country. They have a great shopping experience and there are some good deals to be had. I like to buy online but sometimes you need to touch and feel the products or try them on, and having a wide variety in one place makes it our go to. The clothing is better now that Bass Pro purchased them. Overall we like Cabelas very much
I had a few giftcards loaded onto their online portal after they refunded my purchase which they could not fulfill. When I went to long back in after a while of not shopping on the site, I could not log in, IT told me they had deleted my account due to inactivity (Less than a year) and the money I had on the account could not be recovered. Bull$#*!. Feels a lot like theft, even if it was just $50. At least IT was polite.
Was approved for a credit card with 0% interest, 30 days prior to promotion ending, but never received the card to take advantage of the 0 percent interest. It was stated to me it was not there fault that I didn't receive their card. And still haven't received a card to this date.
I have been a customer of theirs for over 25 years and like them alot. I really enjoy their stores also but I guess they got too comfortable and their online shopping has gotten sloppy, well their shipping anyhow. I placed a fairly large order of fishing supplies. Yesterday UPS came with a fair size box so I thought it was the whole order. Nothing was back ordered so I thought it was all there. NOPE. Just 2 of the 15+ items I ordered. What a waste of shipping. Then they had a note in the huge empty box saying the rest of the order was shipped separately. WHY? It was instock, the box you sent had plenty of room in it. And I noticed they charged my account 3 differnt times for the 1 order I placed. The total was correct adding all the charges up but whats the deal with that? Guess I should look for 2 more boxes coming in.
Staff was very helpful. Bought a new shotgun and was helped by Robert and Jeff. Make sure you have them do an assembly inspection before purchase.
I bought a new Mossberg 500 from Cabela's that turned out to be a lemon. If you are buying, write down the serial no. Before the gun disappears to the back then at payment time compare the serial no. To what you wrote down.
I have had the worst first order experience with ordering online. When I purchased my smoker 6 days ago it said it could be 3 to 5 days to arrive in store (even tho they had SEVERAL in stock at the store) a few days wait is fine, but yesterday day 5, and me inquiring about my order, they tell me it shows a balance due (of $10) because my promo didn't apply correctly. But not once did I receive a notice or communication about this. She fixed the problem and tells me it should ship within 24 yo 48 hours... so I check in today and they tell me it could be 10 business days to ship out... WTF. The black friday sales are over so why can't the store pull one from their shelf. I will NEVER EVER purchase anything from here again. I live in a small town and it's an hour away to drive there so online ordering is really helpful for me. But this place online ordering has been a nightmare.
Ordered a gun they said shipped on day I paid and ordered but never received notification it was in after 2 weeks. Contact through online messaging and they tell me it must have been lost in transit and it's out of stock now and would take 7 days for refund. So they hold my money for 21 days and never had any intention of shipping it to store. Lost in transit lol Do the authority's know you're losing guns in transit. Typical scam!
I have ordered from Cabela's for over 10 years. Great selection of items and they have super inventor. Spent thousands on guns, ammo and camping gear. 50% online, & 50% in store. Sometimes they have things you can't find anywhere else, and always good quality.
I placed an order at the beginning of December. I realized after Xmas that it did not arrive. When I pulled up my order number I was informed it had been cancelled. I was never notified. I called customer support who informed me it was cancelled by the fraud department and I should have automatically received notification. I was also told this by the manager. When I called the fraud department they said the computer does not send cancellation notifications. Why would you ever cancel an order without notification? I was told it was because my IP address was from Germany. Nothing else on my order stated Germany. I use a VPN. This is common practice these days. If your IT department does not understand this then they should be fired. Even this should not keep you from sending an email notification. I will never order from your company again and will inform everyone I know not to as well.
On 1/15/24 went to Cabela's to return an online purchase I had my receipt gave it to her she said this isn't the receipt I said it's further down she said you don't know what you're talking about I said excuse me and another associate watched the whole thing never said a word I'll never shop there again nice place rude people
I recently went into Cabela's to trade a gun. I took a number and waited for over an hour for someone to help me while one guy behind the counter helped one customer and several other customers were waiting for service. I never saw anyone else behind the counter. There should have been an army of sales people tending to customers. Finally I became so disgusted that I just walked out.
I purchased a gun from Cabela's online and went to pick it up I have absolutely no criminal record of any sort. The last gun I purchased was a 5-minute background check by phone. Unfortunately at Cabela's they have their own system of doing it and I did not read one of the questions right so now they own the gun I was going to pick up which I purchased online. Their system said I am not able to pick it up because I answered a question wrong. Thank you Cabela's for wasting 3 hours of my day about $15 in gas. I promise you I will never use any of your retail stores again. Absolutely ridiculous!
Answer: Boa speed lace waterproof winter lightweight boots I got are spectacular. That's actually an understatement. I haven't taken them off since I got them a month ago. Ok maybe when I shower.
