Honestly, you are better of putting the money aside for any damages vs getting this insurance protection plan. They purposely make it diffcult to process for a reason. True money scam business with no care for customer service. Period. You can go ahead and experience it yourself,
I have an iPhone 1 pro. The back glass broke so I called this so called protection plan company which I've being paying for I don't know how long on all cellphones in my household.
Not only, it takes 2 weeks to have it repaired because they don't have a place to fix it the same day but also you have to pay them $175 +tax on top of the $13 +tax you pay on your bill each month.
Since I can't go without cellphone for that long I decided to replace my less that 3 months old iPhone which I mentioned it has just a crack in the back glass.
Well... I had to pay $452 for they to send me a REFURBISHED cellphone!
I'm trying to make a claim with the Better Business Bureau and I hope they can help me to stop this company from take advantage from me and other customers.
Stay away from brightstarprotect.
I'm not sure how apple care works but I'd say nothing is worst than brightstarprotect
I have had this protection company for years and never used it before. I bought a brand new i-phone in June and the back glass broke in August. They charged me $175.00 + tax to send me a replacement which I understood was a new phone. WRONG... they sent a refurbished phone that was garbage. It needs to be charged at least once a day and people can't hear me unless I'm on speaker.
I called to report the problems and all they would offer was for me to send the phone back and they would repair it! What the heck? It's my only phone. I held for a supervisor for several minutes only to be cut off (of course).
I'd have been much better off to have my phone repaired at the Apple Store instead of this SCAM!
I damage my phone literally yesterday and I immediately submitted a claim I did have to submit my ID for verification purposes which I found that to be very secure I also liked how easy it was to navigate through their online claim system I also damage my screen so bad that I was not able to access the site to see what the status was so I ended up calling and speaking with customer service and again very kind and efficient and courteous and they made sure to let me know that my device was on the way and that it was approved because it does have to go through an approval but after I was informed it was approved I got an email saying edit pretty much what the person told me and from there just waited until today and I received it around 1 o'clock today and it's a brand new iPhone like fresh out of the box it also came with a charger in a new pair of headphones so I really think they did a awesome job and taking Care of you. Idk about some of these other comments but in no way Did I have a negative experience I will give them a 1000 out of 10 for everything so thank you guys for working hard and being there you guys did awesome I also paid $175 for the deductible and the tax was about like $5.30 so it wasn't super bad I just wanted to say I paid like total maybe$ 180 something's
Customer service is the worst I ever encountered, charging top dollar to warranty a phone after paying for device protection
BrightStar are lying cheating scammers with abnoxious horrible customer service now they change there name to likewise but when you make payment the truth comes out because the payment goes to BRIGHTSTAR.
They are scumbags. Cheated me badly.
The website doesn't accept your claim and tells you to call the call centre. The call centre's automated attendant tells you to go to the website for faster service. You need to enter numbers repeatedly, and wait on hold for ages. After several back and forth interactions, I was told my device wasn't covered, until a different customer service agent eventually 'saw' that it actually was and started my claim. I have to call her back but the line keeps disconnecting when I try to get through to an actual person. Major time waster which I guess is what they want. But if you have a choice for a different protection plan, I'd try somewhere else.
It took this company 5 days to get my granddaughter's phone sent to us. The phone was garbage and would not work. It took another MONTH for them to finally replace the garbage phone.
I dropped my phone into the lake. I am still attempting to receive my phone. It's been 13 days and with the Holiday it looks like it will be a minimum of 5 more days. However, they Said it was approved so I could pay my deductible. Once they collected it, they again REFUSED to send my phone saying they need MORE information. They have asked for and received the same day several private pieces of information. Said it was for "my protection". I do t think so! They are trying to stall. And if my phone comes in garbage like my granddaughter's phone was, they will have the chance to meet me face to face!,'|
Lost my phone. Can't call them. They asked me to download lots of documents and kept rejecting them. Then asked to disable my iphone through icloud. I have done that. It didn't refresh on their website. Couldn't move any further because if you have any problems you have to call them. Finally got my friend's phone and called them, where the customer service was rude and unprofessional.
Conclusion: The Worst Experience I have had so far.
I called for broken screen service request but they rejected by saying that you called after 60 days of damage, but nobody told me about that when I called them to activate the protection plan. They just told me about the monthly deduction and increase in price at the time of activation. I have 2 phones for which I bought the protection plan and I am with them for around 5 years. Even when ever I open brightstar site, it doesn't show any time limit there. But I got another important message on my service provider app that my protection plan is going to be increased from September onwards. I don't recommend to go with them. Very bad service.
If I can rate ZERO, I would. They charged me 2 months for an account that was already closed. They give you the run around for refund until you give up asking for the money back. This is a million dollar company who can't be bothered to return $33 that is rightfully mine. I have called for a refund since August and I know I should have already given up because it's a small amount but it's the principle of protecting and standing up as a consumer. If your cell phone provider offers this company to cover cell phone damages - DO NOT ACCEPT! You're better off researching others.
They try everything to get you to give up your right to a claim. This company will throw up so many unnecessary administrative roadblocks in the hopes that you simply give up your request for a claim. I first contacted them on February 28th for a broken screen. I didn't get "approved" for repairs until January 14th. This was only after, no less than, six phone calls, multiple emails and three requests for a Supervisor. Every single time they told me the company line, "Your request is being reviewed. Try calling back in two to three business days." Every call back was answered by another roadblock. I have been a Rogers Wireless customer for over fifteen years. I've never been treated so poorly by any company in my life. This experience is making me want to change my cellphone provider.
So i got a phone from them they sent me a new one with the wrong shipping label. I go to sent it back. I get a emil saying i have to pay $125.00 because they did not get my phone. I called they said some one will get back to me in 2 day no one did. I called they say the same thing. 2 mo. Later i get my phone back in the mail. With a late from the post off saying the shipping late info is not right. Ok so i call them back. I was told they i was wrong. And there nothing they can do because its been more then 45 days. Like i did something wrong. That was done on your end not mine. But i have to pay for it. Smh... I could have payed for a nice for for $250. Not a replacement all because of them.
September 20,2021My purse with my phone in it was stolen. Had it 20 days. My very First Iphone. Iphone 12 Pro. Phoned Brightstar to get a replacement. Was told I could go to a retailer. Wrong.
Called back I had to pay a deductible of $428. Paid September 22.
Was told 3-5 days to ship.
Follow up "Its Back Ordered ". This is the response still today October 4,2021. *******955 someone answer's quick enough to only put you on hold and then it is Long waiting.
Only to still be told it is on "Back Order"
Don't waste your money"
TMy $350 phone broke so I filed a replacement claim. I had been paying $7 per month for SEVERAL years, absolutely paid far more than this first claim ever. I had to pay a $50 deductible, which I paid with my debit card. I never got to speak with a representative at all. The replacement arrived, so now I've paid $50 bucks toward a $350 phone and some $2500 in monthly cost. There was nothing in the box except the phone and a plug in. Nothing for a return of my broken phone, and nothing saying I was required to send it to them. I've since lost the old phone, or at least haven't found it, and a couple days ago I received an email, the first one to my knowledge telling me that since I had not sent them my old broken phone, they had taken $80 from my bank account. Now the only way for them to have my bank info. Is when I paid the deductible, and I have never given any authority to any party to take liberties with my bank account without my consent. So now I have paid $130 for a $350 dollar phone, and $2500 in premiums never claimed on. I contacted these folks and was told I was required to send them my phone, upon asking why I received this answer. "because that's our policy" when I asked what made them think they had a right to take money from my bank account, I was told I had been informed. I did not speak to anyone and had no idea until they reached into MY BANK ACCOUNT without permission. I say to all of you. Put your 7 dollars in a coffee can and shove it under your bed. You'll be able to fix it replace your phone a few times, and go on vacation. This seems wrong to me.
Wow where to start, there's no enough room on this page to write a full review, if you like being lied to over and over and then have your device shipped to someone else brightstar is for you. They blame ups for not delivering my device to the wrong address amd then tell me I have to launch am investigation with ups. One would think that considering brightstar hired ups that brightstar could initiate an investigation but no broghtstar takes no accountability for anything they lied to be numerous times and then said "it's your problem" these guys are idiots... it's been 4 months amd I still don't have my device..
Paid 175 for a new phone and was told it will be here in 24hours. Now I'm being told it's on backordered. No one will accommodate me. I ask could I get a letter stating it's on back order since I use my phone for scanning at work. I have loss out on 3 days of pay because of it. This insurance is some b. S
They are thief guys I paid 15$ every month for 2 years and when I called them they said oh we can't see the phone you have to call the freedom mobile and when they find the phone they said oh you don't have the cover on this phone please guys don't waste your money it all fake $#*! this company
If i can give no stars i would do so. It makes no sense to call time after time over an insurance claim.to be told no one can help and there is nothing they can do. But it is guaranteed to get them little 7 dollars a month to not be able to have a smoothed insurance coverage program. Then no one cares not even management about the waste and lack of time. I have summitted document after document and emails and still nothing. I guess we are waiting until the claim expires so i can here that i have exceeded my time that has expired for the claim. I'm over this.
I have been billed for insurance on two phones but the phone company says I do not have insurance. I try to cancel the coverage and there is no way. It is the worst scam! They are impossible together ahold of.
