Don't ignore the negative reviews like I did. I tried Brecks regular bulbs for my garden 85% of a $280.00 order never grew up. I gave Brecks Gifts a shot and they backordered my gift to a friend immediately after I placed the order. Then canceled it all together after TWO shipping dates. No emails, no calls no follow up. I had to keep checking the site and call for a refund that had to be approved. THEY ARE THE WORST. RUN!
Plants are dried up and dead,they short you on your order,they refuse refund and only offer a new "dead plant" if you pay shipping AGAIN,very disreputable
Breck's will take forever to ship, and in the year 2022 are unable to send a bill through email. Placed an order for hellebores based through a paper order form sent to me in a Breck's catalog. The order was received by Breck's on 1/14/21 with estimated ship date of 5/14/21. Received email on 5/20/21 informing me that shipping date was delayed until 10/21/21. Order finally shipped on 9/22/21. Received email correspondence regarding order status but it never indicated any outstanding balance on the account. Breck's claims they sent bill through mail, which I never received as I'd moved away from the address in question by the time they sent it, and they never many any attempt to send any statement electronically. Instead of ever trying to call or email, they passed the account balance on to a debt collector. Will not be spending another cent with Breck's. They're at best misleading - and at worst it's a total scam that will show up long after promised, with all sorts of nasty surprised attached.
Breck's has made several accounts for me for no good reason, claim they can't fix it, and tried to charge me $300 for stuff I didn't order. I've spoken with them half a dozen times, every time they claim my accounts have been fixed, but nope, they keep sending bills for more and more accounts and keep calling me early in the morning when my husband works until 1am, and we are sleeping at 8am. They won't say why they're calling, just to call them. I'm tired of paying and paying for stuff I never received or ordered, they won't close however many accounts they have for me now, I had a review up and took it down because they assured me it was all fixed, but NO it's not. THIS review is going to stay up, as I am very, very irritated with how I've been treated, and stressed out by them for not fixing the problem after like 6 phone calls with them. I've never dealt with such an inept company for plants before! DEFINITELY AVOID!
I have been buying iris for the past 18 yrs. This year I ordered 4 reblooming iris from Brecks. The iris were dried up and appeared to be dead. I filed a claim through PayPal. Brecks claimed the plants were "dormant" and refused to refund and shipped 4 replacement plants. Two of the replacement plants were dead. Two are struggling to survive. DO NOT ORDER IRIS FROM BRECKS!
Never ever again will I order anything from Brecks. Bulbs arrived - mostly dirt, bulbs non existent. Customer service useless. Absolute waste of money and time. Terrible experience
Got an email saying that my order shipped on 9/11. Looked on their website to verify and it gave me a tracking number. I called today and they say it's BACKORDERED! NO where does it say that it's back ordered! And when you ask for a supervisor they are busy - yeah right! Pay for something back in May and they never ship. SCAMMED! SCAMMED SCAMMED!
I placed an order that I never received when I called in to see where it was I was transferred to three different departments.It's as if everyone passing the buck.Still didn't get a resolution.WILL NOT BE USING BRECKS CREDIT EVER...THE ORDER WAS PLACED WITH A REP.DON'T UNDERSTAND PROBLEM!
So I am not going to recommend this company. I preordered a Hanukkah gift for my mom in October to be delivered by 12/7/20. Today is 12/17/20 and my mom said she still hadn't received it. I check the fedex tracking and it says the gift was RETURNED to Brecks!? WTF! I check my bank account and the $64.71 is gone but no gift!? The CSR sucked - she offered in a monotone to credit my next order with Brecks. When I asked to speak to a supervisor she put me on hold for five minutes only to return and tell me no supervisor was available. I send an email detailing my outrage. I call again and get Cassandra who finally gets me my refund. I hate this company. They SUCK at satisfying an irate customer and an egregiously sketchy situation.
As others have said:
-late shipping; there is a standard 2-4 wks delivery w/o backorder!
-despite above, some didn't arrive until December, no doubt contributing to many failures
-many were moldy and/or rotten-most did not appear at all, I DEEPLY RESENT the time I spent planting to no avail (in bitter cold and dark days of December!)
-guarantee only provides "replacement certificate" so I am stuck ordering again this year (it will be interesting to see what bulbs look like & if any actually come up--but if they don't look good, or arrive later again I will demand a refund)
SAVE YOUR TIME & TROUBLE- DON'T GO THERE!
I've had great experiences with Longwood Gardens; the few bulbs that didn't come up they replaced (my choice) without a hassle

I have give Breck's multiple chances... they have disappointed every time. I have yet to receive a full order. They will give me credit for items that I didn't receive/arrived dead HOWEVER if any part of the order was received- they won't refund the shipping even though i may receive 1 plant out of an entire order!
As it stands, I keep placing new orders to try and use the credit since they refuse to refund original payment and keep receiving store credit because they never fulfill the entire order but all that is being eaten away by shipping which I think is their whole plan!

I ordered some iris plants on May 15,2021. They arrived on Aug. 30,2021. They arrived small, dried-up, and dead. I tried to bring them back to the dead, but to no avail. I called Breck's and a man from India, answered the phone. He told me he did not have the authority to resend the shipment or to issue me a refund. I filled out the contact form on the Breck's website, but never got a reply. I put in a dispute on my Visa credit card, I got a letter from Visa stating that is has been longer than 60 days, so they couldn't iss a refund. They told me to Breck's. I ordered some iris plants from Schreiner's Iris Garden, and received these large, green, beautiful Iris plants, that were properly packed for shipment. I AM NEVER BUYING ANOTHER ITEM FROM BRECK'S!
This company is fraudulent. Don't spend any money here. I never received my order and they do not answer to do a refund. I will report them. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your money
Breck's, Spring Hill, Burgess, and Michigan Bulbs are all probably owned by the same criminal empire. They have to know they are selling substandard merchandise.
I have been waiting for over a month and a half for a rose bush ordered for a friend's death. FedEX keeps telling me that it is somewhere in PA but no updates. Their shipping SUCKS THE BIG WHAH=HOONIE and I would never subscribe to these people again for ANYTHING.
I kept receiving these catalogs of beautiful flowers and ordered a mix of Irises that totaled around $40. When I received them they were dry rotted. I did the scratch test on the rhizomes and they were not viable. I called and was told to plant them anyway. The first bill that came after that, had a 10 dollar late fee applied. It was the first bill I received! I reached out to the company and explained that I had just received the first bill. They put me on a very lengthy hold and said the "late fee" would be removed. Not wanting any other negative issues, I asked if they could go ahead and take a payment over the phone. They assured me they were more than happy to do that. I gave them all my card information and received my confirmation number. I didn't give it another thought until I received the next months bill. It had ANOTHER late fee and NOTHING had been applied towards the balance at all! I called back in and they said no payment had been taken. Afraid, but VERY TIRED of the hassle and unprofessionalism, I asked if I could just pay the entire balance. They took my payment and I never plan on doing business with this company again! I have dealt with many other reputable companies and never had these types of issues. Don't waste your time or $$$

RUN, don't walk, AWAY from this company. Throw their catalogs and mailings directly into the trash. Do NOT be sucked in by their color enhanced photos and other marketing bull crap. After ordering over twenty bulbs from Brecks in May, I received 3 dried up looking pieces of crap in NOVEMBER, despite phone calls to them in August, September and October. Brecks charged 18.95 in SHIPPING for these 3 dead looking bulbs. Speaking to their customer service reps is enough to send you into a state of sheer madness as their Customer Service is outsourced and reps are reading from a script and not actually listening to your explanation of the issue or question. At one point I was told that, after receiving 3 bulbs, my total due to Brecks was $187.00! After holding for almost a half an hour waiting to speak to a supervisor my call was disconnected, and I had to call back and subject myself to repeating the same frustrating experience with a different rep. Their prices may seem lower but the quality and overall experience is beyond terrible. DO NOT put yourself through it. Order from a reputable company with service based here in the USA.
I ordered two packages of Christmas-tree Cyclamen from Breck's in the fall of 2022. Each package had three bulbs. One package had three plump bulbs; the other had bulbs that were so shriveled that they looked like dried mushrooms. I emailed the company and included pictures of the two packages of bulbs. They replied to me giving me a replacement certificate for $29.74. A replacement package of three bulbs is $33.99. Rather than replacing the ITEMS, they gave me a certificate which does not even cover the cost of the same three bulbs. I've ordered fall and winter-blooming bulbs from them before, and even though some looked "depleted," I planted them anyway. This last shipment was of such poor quality that I couldn't ignore it. I can't believe that someone could even put two such different packages into the same shipment.
I've been a serious gardener for a decade now, and I know the difference between the quality of bulbs and the quality of my gardening. Breck's has been a disappointment too often.
The bulbs and plants I purchased were of dubious quality
I have a thriving garden and the bulbs I added from Breck's came up very weak and some not at all
The bareroot plants I bought did not come up
I wrote to Breck's about the quality and never received a response.
Answer: They never sent any product that I order for fall. Canceled my order after cashing my check. Still waiting for the refund. So no becks products to show off here. Only a un happy customer
