Terrible plants. If you order for fall planting, brecks sends them too late to get in the ground in the fall. Spring plants are awful. Bought $100 worth of plants and only 3 out of 40 plants grew in my garden. I am a master gardener and would suggest to all gardeners to buy your plants locally. Brecks doesn't have very good customer service. Totally bad bare root plants. Bought from them for a couple years and don't have e-mails or receipts. Didn't even try to get reimbursed from my previous orders cause they will send me the same junk as before. Use caution buying from Brecks!
Ordered Rubra Maxima Crown Imperial Day Lilly. First batch arrived rotten and full of insects. Breck's replaced item but replacement was received in the same rotten state as the first and again crawling with insects. Contacted Brecks for a refund and was informed that they no longer give refunds but would credit my account. Credit probably will not cover shipping costs on any future order.
Do not order from Brecks. The delivery is very slow. The first plants I ordered never grew an inch from the roots despite following the planting instructions exactly. I received a replacement certificate but still had to pay shipping again. The replacement order was supposed to be "in pots" but it was only roots in a plastic bag. That delivery package insert stated two plants were enclosed (and charged), but only one was in the box. When I called to complain, I was told the second plant was "out of stock."
Ordered assorted 70 daffodil bulbs in april 22 for fall planting. Well...they are up and blooming but ALL YELLOW. Also ordered mixed crocus and got only purple and white, no yellow. They refunded me the money, but to fix the mess I have to dig up many of those previously planted. I thought this was a great company. Hard to believe they have been around for 200 years and cfan
T get a simple order right.
I've been waiting for my order for months. When I received it, the bulbs were dry, almost rotten.
I asked them for a refund, but they offered me a purchase certificate. When I told them that I did not want a purchase certificate, but the full refund of my payment.
They refunded part of my payment and kept the taxes, since it was only 3 dollars, I didn't want to keep wasting my time for 3 dollars. With the amount of negative reviews I've seen of them. I don't think they sell much and maybe they need them more than I do.
I ordered two Agapanthus for $30 from this company. I received two packages of dried up leaves. Please see photo below. I emailed them with my complaint and received no reply. I just wished I had researched this company before ordering from them. I would have given them a rating of 0 if I could have!

As of 4/30/2022, Breck's Bulbs sent Fedex the electronic info 4/11/2022, and they still can't get the plant to them.
I emailed them to day. Told them to cancel the order.
They said that " I am unable to cancel this order as it has already shipped from Holland. Your order is expected to reach the United States FedEx facility on 04/28/22."
04/28/22 has already past!
This is the second order they kept delaying!
Will not buy from them again!
Brecks used UPS Innovations as their postal service. Package was lost, customer service told me a run around 3 different times. They really wanted to keep my money. They split the order into 2 parts but only wanted to return part of my money. I finally got all of it refunded. I will never order from them again.
They sell items, that they don't even have in stock. If you are buying for a spring planting, you may not receive your item until mid-summer (too late to plant). If you purchase an item for fall planting, you may not receive it until winter (again, too late to plant). I would strongly suggest, that you order from a more dependable company.
We received a 3 bulb planter for Christmas as a gift. The leaves were green. The leaves kept growing, looked healthy. The flowers never came. 3 for 3 were duds. Because the leaves were green, we waited a long time to call for a refund. When I finally did, after talking to 2 different people in India, they agreed to a refund. It's been almost 2 months, still waiting.
We received an email and offer with 10% off and free shipping for any order of $50.00. We tried to place an order for $150.00 and then did receive our free shipping, BUT...then they added in a shipping surcharge to cover the shipping! I tried their on line chat and then ended up calling and talking to three people. They said there are no representatives in the US so I need to talk to them only. "Very sorry sir, the surcharge is charged by the greenhouse/manufacturer of the items so we have not control and you must pay".
So... in the end you pay the shipping surcharge, but shipping is free. You be the judge, but not a great deal and nothing but deceptive from the start. I should also add that they would not even talk to me without all my information on shipping and phone numbers and such. Ugh. Just don't like that either!
What a miserable experience. Ordered bulbs several months ago received a notification that they, "have arrived in the US and should be with you in 10 days"... a month ago. Still no sign of the bulbs I ordered and, worse, no reply from Breck's when I asked for an update on my order. Waste of money and time. Do yourself a favor: if you need bulbs, don't go to Breck's. Plenty of other, better options.
I submitted my order on 9/4/17 and to date I still have not received my already paid for items. I have contacted their customer service 4 times and no result five weeks later. You would think someone would have followed up! My patience is now nonexistent. Customer service what service? Not the way to run a business!
I spent a considerable amount of money with this company. The order did not arrive and I had to follow up more than once in order to get it shipped. As it was, when it did arrive the products did not survive and were shipped too near hard frosts. Of several plants, one survived. Forget about trying to get a refund with a supposed guarantee. Never again.
Just got $200 worth of hosta plants from Brecks. They are so pitifully small, if they survive, it will be years before I see what they look like. This is my second poor set of plants from Brecks. I don't know what is going on. Brecks used to be better.

I placed my order during the winter months. I was told my order would be shipped out the first week in April. I just got off of the phone with them. I was now told my order is going to come not as one shipment but three! Some in the month of May. I'm stuck here now not able to do what I need to do because the main plants that I need to work around aren't coming till later! So the bulbs I have from another company have to wait to be planted. Hopefully they won't die on me. They don't tell you everything up front before the order goes through! I spent 250.00 with them and they give you the run around. Oh please! They gave me a 10.00 credit for the inconvenience! Really!
They delayed the shipment and then delayed again and again. Finally said one item is out of stock, but NO REFUND. Today the plants arrived and, surprise, they are dead. Out of the 10 I ordered there is a slim chance 3 or 4 may survive, but they are so dried out it is doubtful.
They have the nerve to blame all of this on the virus crisis. How does a virus impact sending out dead plants? I really wish I found this link before I ordered. Sadly, I confused their name with another company that starts with a "B" and just went it.
Stay away from them. There is zero chance it will end well for you.
Breck's Bulbs cannot unhinge your account order emails from their incessant email marketing campaigns, so unless you are prepared to receive an email a day or more from Breck's, I would not recommend ordering from them. Bulb quality is ok, but nothing special, and it takes far less of our time to manage orders from a supplier who does not SPAM our inbox. Brecks fails to understand that too much information actually reduces customer engagement, rather than improving it. We have unsubscribed, but if we place and order, we get re-added to the mailing list, We can't be bothered to check their emails anymore, filtered them to junk, closed the account, and now order from someone who only sends us emails relevant to our orders.
I ordered over $300 worth of bulbs in the winter of 2022. They all arrived late to plant in our zone and were not stored and shipped properly. I'm an experienced grower have not seen bulbs treated so poorly. The dahlias were not divided and arrived shriveled and rotten. I only had about 40% success with my orders.
I purchased this beautiful Iris in 2020. It didn't survive, however, it was $27.95 so I requested a replacement and again this Iris did not survive. I was told there was a lifetime guarantee. Yet, after two tries I decided to request a refund in March 2022.and was denied but issued a credit since the Iris is out of stock! The products from Brecks used to be of high quality but not anymore. Unfortunately I have not choice but to accept the credit... In addition I've been on the phone for over an HOUR! My last purchase from Brecks!
Answer: They never sent any product that I order for fall. Canceled my order after cashing my check. Still waiting for the refund. So no becks products to show off here. Only a un happy customer
