Not really sure yet...

For me, I'm one to try all options, a little disappointed in the way they "offer to repack" orders to lesson the cost. Honestly it has nothing to do with DHL. I spoke with the rep from borderlinx, he insisted that due to "company policy" even though, every item is from different stores, he ensured me that each item is to be individually packaged. Not one to split hairs, so paid the s&h fee, the part I do enjoy is, everything shows up at one time. Since I let Borderlinx do what they think is "company Policy", I'm going to do what I can about changing the way Borderlinx handles their S&H. I'm an environmentalist when it comes to excessive garbage. The part I'm enjoying is "everything is on hold till you release the shipment" they did not in fact say, who/what/why/where/when/how. As far as I'm concerned is the company Borderlinx is, considered a "transfer point" kinda like a bus station. Their job is to make sure nothing illegal enters the country, or is being exported from the country. They cover all angles in regarding the conversion rates, the measurements, the weight and the taxes are covered. So for me, what I have been told, their is no taxes on anything over $20/US. Regardless on how many outlets I'm shopping from. I'm working well within their "company Policy", I'm a little uncomfortable with their S&H, since no one in the company speaks proper english, I can only assume their morals will follow suite. Not going to send in a complaint, I'm just going to send a copy to my lawyer and have a 2nd opinion from another lawyer, on this matter. For me I have saved all transactions, all emails everything. If they refuse my service, it's also considered "discrimination" on their behalf. Something just doesn't feel right so I'm going to tear it down;-) "Have a great weekend;-)"

Hello Dwayne, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We always try to reduce the shipping cost for you to make your shopping experience more meaningful. We reduce the individual size of the package, wherever possible, as the dimensions of the package do affect the international shipping fee (refer volumetric weight - http://www.borderlinx.com/en/pages/faq/volumetric-weight).

Additionally, you can save a lot on the shipping cost by consolidating multiple shipments. Consolidation is the process of combining multiple packages in order to release them together. This does not mean that the goods will be repacked in one single box which is something we don't do due to problems with invoicing, safety of items etc... By consolidating your shipments, all your packages will be shipped out at the same time and forwarded under the same tracking number, but delivered in their original packages.

Grossly overcharged

First of all let me just mentioned the name of one of borderlinx unproffesional Customer Service Representatives "SUMIT".
I had an issue with my parcel that contains a prohibited item. So i tried To seek for a solution by chatting with Borderlinx CSR Jaspal. He mentioned the prohibited item and gave me multiple solutions and said he would get back to me within 24 hrs.
The 24hrs had passed and there was no email, so i tried to chat with a CSR with the same issue id conversation (LTK*******101X) that i had with Jaspal. The subject was " advise on the parcel that contains prohibited item". Then this Sumit started typing and all i get is "DISPOSE". Wow really? Thats ur advise? I replied back by saying shouldnt u give me solutions like return to merchant or maybe send to a different address! But he responded very unprofessionally. I respect the policy and im fine with disposing prohibited items "been there" but the way it was "advised" to me was very wrong. At least the 1st CSR pretended to help.
Ive been dealing with boarderlinx for 2 years and i had never experienced such thing. Hope to hear of an action taken towards my issue!

Not worth the money

This service is expensive. They used to repack items but apparently they got lazy and now refuse to repack anything even if I have opted for all items to be repacked. It seems that they like to refuse repacking anything such that the volumetric weight is higher and they can charge you more. I also had a long debate with them over an item where apparently it was deemed hazardous to be shipped to my location (even though countless other items had the ingredient in it and those had been shipped multiple times over). Also, they had ill-advised logic that cetearyl alcohol = alcohol (flammable). I had to fight with them over a month before I had no choice but to dig out the MSDS form of the product in question (mainly because they pushed me to a wall with that) and show it to their face that it had ZERO hazard in being shipped before they tucked their tail inbetween their legs and shipped the item to me. Frustrating and excruciating to deal with. The only saving grace was that they did respond to my incessant emails. I'm still going to go with other less annoying options.

My advice is: Stay away from Borderlinx.

They provide you with a cost calculator, which makes their pricing look good. But, after you get your orders delivered to them, and when you are about to ship them to your address, additional VAT is charged (20% german VAT in my case - they never inform you that estimated costs are VAT EXCLUSIVE), so your shipping cost will be AT LEAST 20% higher than expected when you use their calculator.

They also publicize their repack service to save you volumetric shipping costs - this is a total scam. Not repack whatsoever was made.

I used Borderlinx to ship 9 items by DHL express service, 3 of those items were wrongfully measured, which led to overcharged volumetric weigth, and 3 other items could have been repacked in order to save over 50% of the volumetric weight charged, but they did not repack them, dispite what they advertise on the site.

They refunded about 10, when the excess VAT (you are not informed about it) plus the excess volumetric weight (wrong measurements and items not repacked) amounted about 80! And Paypal is supporting the scam, they will side with Borderlinx, as you will have a hard time proving this overcharge and illegal pricing VAT exclusive - private persons MUST be informed about final prices including all taxes.

Once you get your orders delivered to them, they will hold your items "hostage", and the prices get a lot higher than you expected in the first place. Excessive charges, no repack and hidden VAT.

Stay well away from Borderlinx, or learn at your own cost!

Firstly, we're sad to know your experience wasn't to your expectation. At Borderlinx, we always strive to make things better so your shopping experience is absolutely smooth.

We would like to clarify about the 20% VAT applied on shipments from our UK & Germany Hub. This is a local VAT by government of both the countries. It is off the shipping fee only (not entire order) as such the increase is marginal. It only applies when the destination country is within Eurpoean Union (so basically EU laws).

The online cost calculator will otherwise clearly show you the estimate on the international shipping fee, duty/tax per import country. As VAT is not standard fee and limited to EU, it cannot be incorporated. However, prior to payment, the breakdown and total landing cost is shown on the line of being transparent with our billing.

Our repacking service is free, however, we do not carry repacking materials beside the DHL pouches being a shipping company and which limit our repacking options. The warehouse will always try to repack and reduce the shipping cost where ever feasible.

I want share my experience with borderlinx maybe somebody can help me, I shipped three packages from Germany to USA through borderlinx, all my packages arrived October 6, my dashboard keep saying no goods for three weeks, three weeks they received my packages and nobody can just type in keyboard to let me know my packages delivered, in the end after calling the sellers and dhl Germany and make problem with everyone in Germany borderlinx found my packages, now one of my packages contain one can tobacco ( prohibited material) I send email quickly to dispose this material and please send me my packages, nobody replay nobody care, only open the package and through the tobacco can out and send my package, one week now or so nobody reply, I take my share from mess and bad communication, please release my packages to shopping to my address in usa( $1500 my packages value) my customers already gone, the package tracking number is JJD*******312, please it is easy to solve, find somebody else to give him hard time I took my share and enough

Website promised a maximum 2 days of processing after the shipment arrives at their facility and to contact them if that does not happen. Contacted them COUNTLESS times and the same response every time. "Just wait" was the basis of all that they had to say to me. Support ticket opened and "raised to urgent" as the agent said, but seriously, who would believe that. Still no response or update whatsoever. The delivery confirmation by the company that shipped my item to the Hong Kong warehouse was updated on Friday 24 Nov but up till now, still not updated in Borderlinx. Extremely upset and worried as it is a very high value item. Suite Number 1749-5215 and Support ticket *******.

Update 6 Dec:
Reached out to them on Twitter. Was told: "the matter is being taken up with our HK warehouse manager."
We'll see about that...

Update 7 Dec,
They found my package! They finally processed it! Shipped a mobile phone from Hong Kong to Singapore. Paid shipping, fuel surcharge and borderlinx insurance (Safetylinx). Total came out to be about USD32. Quite a fair price in my opinion!

Update 8 Dec,
Item has been dispatched through DHL Express (no other option was available) and set to arrive by Monday, 11 Dec.

Update 10 Dec,
Item delivered in good condition.

Overall thoughts:
I felt that Borderlinx could have provided better and faster service if not for the backlog experienced by them due to their moving of warehouses. Premium shipping fees are to be expected when using such services so that is something to be careful with. As of now, only use Borderlinx if it is your only option to get an item from Point A to Point B. I'm sure it will get better once they sort out the current backlog and return to normal service again.

The best way to shop and ship economonically is using our consolidation services. Shop using same account with family and friends and ship the items together under one order. This way you save a lot on the shipping fee, then shipping them separately.

I was one of the company's customers It is a company failed prices are high I 've shipped 3 Cover Protector phone does not exceed a weight of 2 lbs was calculated to have 5 lbs I asked them to check the price and weight, but they refused to do so and said it real weight when receiving the shipment you worth its weight in the office of DHL the weight and found that less than 2 lbs decided not to deal with them again, they are not honest I warn buyers from dealing with them they take the money and they raised the price of weight
For buyers tried to talk with sellers in the Amazon or eBay or any other store to ship by usps international priority mail it offers good prices for shipping and delivery of 6 to 10 business days
I want to be honest I 'm not going to repeat the experiment with this company they are doubling the weight of the shipment and wish everyone to leave a review for all to see was this company or other companies that do not offer good service even warns of buyers and sellers around the world

This company really doesn't do what it promises. I ordered for almost $1000 goods in the US and Bordelinx takes care of shipping and taxes to my adress in Europe. I paid them almost $500 (taxes and shipping). Packages should arrive witin 6-8 days. After 9 days the first 3 packages arrived (the chepaer ones). The more expensive ones still didn't arrive and now it is july 10th! Every contact with customer service gives me the same answer: to have patience and wait for further information after investegation (they ship with TNT Post, who say the packages were only pre-alerted but never arrived there). The never contact me or come back with information I have to contact them, but besides another reference number for my complain I don't get anything. Th ething is that they did charge my creditcard right away. They are faster with money than with their shipping and customer service. I hope I can come back with a better review if they will ever find my packages and take care in a customer friendly way, but so far my experience is very negative!

Their FAQ says that shipments released by noon will get processed and shipped the same day.
I released all 4 pieces in my suite together on Sunday. Nothing shipped on Monday. 2 shipped on Tuesday. 1 on Wednesday. The status of the fourth is still unknown. This despite the fact that I asked for my shipment release many days after having provided the invoices for the goods and their details. Apparently they are having system issues, but it took 5 days for them to admit it and that also not formally or with full details.

I raised a complaint on Tuesday. Was promised a response in 24hrs. Total Silence! Same for ticket raised on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday!

72hrs and no response on my tickets. I also realised that since day 1 DHL estimate for delivery is 6 days, that is the outer estimate for DHL Standard. Which means DHL knew they were not going to deliver in 2-3 days all things being normal. That means when they shipped my goods Borderlinx did not ship it express, though they collected express charges. Makes me sick.

I paid for DHL Express service for which delivery time advised is 2-3 days. DHL tracking has estimated delivery in 6 days, which is DHL Standard service. Of course the 3 which shipped are not with me yet. They have reached Johannesburg since yesterday but are stuck at customs. Because the customs documentation was incomplete! And I had handed over the invoices and details long ago and made full payment before requesting shipment. In fact they didn't even know there were customs issues till I told them of it. Thats how much they care if your shipment is on track or not. And despite asking when they would get it sorted no answer. If they had just organised better I would have at last part of my goods today itself. But no even after they messed up they were not fussed on making sure that happened.

I opted to use Borderlinx because it was supposed to be efficient and fast but at a premium. I don't mind cost, I do mind waste of time. Borderlinx has been inefficient, slow, unresponsive and a waste of time. They have not kept a single commitment. I wanted to have all my goods with me by Friday, 28th Jul, since I am travelling next week. I think I will have to go without.

Not using Borderlinx ever again.

AVOID THIS COMPANY

Avoid this company.

Basically one of worst companies i ever used.

Store where i buy items does not ship to my country so i had to create borderlinx account. My husband also created account for his business, since sometimes he need specific items, that cant be shipped to my country.

Items were shipped to my account and my account was locked without any explanation. I contacted customer service they asked me to provide proof of identity to security at borderlinx.com. I sent to that email copy of my passport, bank statement, and picture of my credit card.

I didnt received response for days so i contacted customer service again. They said they can't do anything, i have to wait response from security team. I waited 1 more week, still no response. Meanwhile i tried to push them and sent several emails as a reminder. Still no response. Contacted customer service again. They asked me to provide these documents to them, so i did, 5 days ago and still waiting for response. Its been over a month i'm trying to get my account unlocked, without any luck. Items is still with them for over a month!

Dealing with this problem and time going i tried to return items to merchant. Contacted customer service. They provided to me link with form i have to fill and pay fees. So i did that and paid 50 GBP for return. Received email saying, that i can't use that return option since my account is locked. Asked for refund so i can pay again and ship with Prepaid return label option. They answered fist i have to provide prepaid return label, and they will refund only after that.

My account and my husband account is still locked without any reason and i can't unlock it even tho i provided all documents they asked and beign in contact with them every day, have no effect.

Email they provided to contact security team does not even exist or they are not checking it at all or they will ignore you.

Tl; dr
They will lock your account with no reason and no explanation. You have no chance to unlock your account. Security team email address is beign ignored or does not exist. Providing your proof of identity does not solve anything.

Seller Amazon has alleged that fraudulent cards were used to purchase the items and ship it to our Borderlinx address which were linked to you and your husbands account. Your account can be reviewed only when you sort out the matter with Amazon. As a responsible company we have strict regulations against such fraud reports and we take them very seriously. As such, we did not do anything wrong here by suspending your account.

Resolution-

You do not need to make any payment due to fraud status. Simply contact Amazon and provide a Return prepaid label. You failed to provide the merchant RMA which is to authenticate that items are actually going back to seller. As advised, we cannot allow the fraudulently purchased items to be redirected to any other address as it would tantamount to supporting such unauthorized transaction. We encourage and assist to return the items back to seller at no extra cost to you- period.

A detailed email has been sent to you on the matter, and explained as of yesterday over Live chat ways to resolve the matter. Apparently putting a different story is not appreciated and is misleading.

Please provide the RMA from Amazon (Return Merchandise Authorization number) which Amazon will issue for every return request you make with them- Free of cost and we will assist with the return at no extra cost to you.
