Even though I think Borderlinx's use of DHL is a good choice since I can get the goods from the US to HK within 3 days, their processing time is a bit slow. just now, I had my package delivered to borderlinx at 9am in their time but the goods only appeared on my suite at borderlinx at 4 or 5pm. I wanted to ship it before the weekend starts but I am not going to be awake at 4am in HK time to do that.
also, the cost of shipping is too expensive. i have opted for repackaging but they have only repackaged the clothing from amazon but not the goods from kate spade. the volumatric kg for kate spade ended up being huge despite it consist of one accessory and 3 wallet...i dont know how the original package arrived (i will find out soon) but it must be packaged very inefficiently. when they already know what i already bought, shouldnt it be their responsibility to repack so i can save on the cost. so, the total cost for shipping turned out to be usd100. basically, i didnt enjoy much saving. last time i shipped shoes and a bag and the total cost was not as high, being about usd 70.
anyway, i now will no longer use borderlinx and switch to comgateway. at least, i will save on the usa tax since comgateway is at oregon but borderlinx is at ohio.
very unhappy with the recent shipment being charged a hopping usd 100 for essentially no repackaging of goods....
This company will ripoff the customers and the support people are not trustworthy. They will try to suck your blood and money as much as they can.

I ordered some automotive polishes, foam pads, and nitrile gloves from www.autogeek.net and I had the option of shipping to Canada directly. I opted for Borderlinx because I also had 3 more shipments coming in and I wanted to take advantage of their package consolidation for slightly cheaper shipping.
Unfortunately, in hindsight, I should have just sent all my packages directly to Canada and eat the extra $90 USD in shipping because Borderlinx has decided that my package was "dangerously flammable". I asked them to contact Autogeek to confirm the flammability but the Indian rep (he only answers in the evening and his English is not so great) has decided that their decision is final.
I have no beef with Indian reps except that he is unable to make that decision since he is literally across the ocean. The idea of my "entire package" being "dangerously flammable" (I am using their words here) is laughable. I will now have to pay for the shipping back to Autogeek and repay shipping directly to Canada.
The idea of shipping consolidation is a good idea except that Borderlinx refuses to investigate possible false positives.
I wish I never had used Borderlinx in the first place. If I paid directly, it would have already been at my door by now. Instead, I will have to pay double shipping and the shipping will be a minimum of 2 weeks late.

Spoke with customer service and he said that if I get them the MSDS for the chemicals that they would look at it and reassess their "flammability". I forwarded the MSDS from the vendor to Borderlinx and I was certain that this would not present a problem. Unfortunately, a 600 degree F ignition for a single chemical helped them to determine that my entire package is dangerously flammable.
I have to pay $20 "administration fee" and the cost of the return shipment to the vendor, Autogeek.
I spoke with Autogeek and they have been very helpful. I will be getting my shipment shipped to Canada thanks to Autogeek.
I thought I was smart saving ~$90 in shipping but instead, I paid at least another $150. I learned my lesson: never use Borderlinx

Necessary expertise and licenses is required to handle dangerous/flammable goods through airlines as per IATA regulations. Unfortunately, Borderlinx don't have one, and hence we restrict anything that is considered dangerous or is alcohol based (flammable). Our prohibition list is as extensive as we can make out, but its not practicable to list all items- It would run into millions.
You can always check if an item can be shipped with the support team prior to purchase. We regret the situation you were and advise you to understand the standard prohibition regulation across the industry.

Terrible terrible company. I shipped two things to borderlinx on my first use of Borderlinx. For one item, they quoted an exorbitant amount of shipping charge. I waited for them to repack and got the same quote again. I decided to ship it back to the seller and pay them instead to ship it to India. The seller shipped it for 10 times lesser. For returns you need to pay an administration fee. It took them 10 business days to even acknowledge the payment. Then their warehouse team took another 3 days to prepare the package for shipment. By the time they managed to ship it, i was already in the last few days left for free refund.
The other shipment that I did use Borderlinx for, they did ship it on time after i made the payment. But, they managed to not mark the courier as customs prepaid. I paid the customs and the handling charges when the courier reached my doorstep. That's not the problem. What i realized when i looked at the borderlinx invoice was that they charged me at least 2.5 times the customs that i ended up paying. And guess what, Borderlinx declined to refund the entire customs amount that they charged me, but instead wanted to refund only the customs that I paid at my doorstep. If that's not thieving people, don't know what is.
The 4 weeks that i had to deal with Borderlinx have to be the worst time I would have spent. The unprofessionalism of the company is absolutely stunning. I wouldn't blame the customer care executives. They just decided to bite on more than they can ever manage to chew.
Bravo to the operations team. They took one very optimistic new customer, and managed to turn her into the worst mouthpiece for their company.
Since my first review below - I still after one month have not got my goods or any details about delivery - BORDERLINK sent my goods to Brazil without knowing it was necessary to include a tax file number [CPF] AND in the absence of this my goods were returned to the UK - BORDERLINK then asked me to pay a SECOND TIME to resend them! - they fraudulently advertise as expert professionals but are in fact rank amateurs - there is no real follow up or costumer service - all in all an absolute nightmare to deal with - my goods are foodstuffs and after more than one month I still have no idea where my goods are or if they will ever be delivered to the destination I paid them to deliver to - I cant believe their official website reviews are genuine - they do no extra service they simply act as a collection agent for DHL - don't ever consider wasting your money on these con artists!

Q: Honestly the WORST company you can ever come across!
I've sent my 2 shipments to Borderlinx. It's been 5 days today and I was not able to release my shipment since their website was declining my Credit Cards. I spoke to my bank and both the banks informed me that there is nothing wrong with my card but at the merchants end. Initially they had phone support but not anymore (for sure they are getting roasted by the customers because of their unprofessional and incompetent behaviour towards the customers), so, I initiated a chat with there most incompetent staff "Mostly Indians".
BELIEVE ME, THEY WILL NOT EVEN UNDERSTAND YOUR ISSUE IN THE FIRST PLACE.
I'm kind of pretty sure they are Indians and won't understand English as it is not their first language.
So, after repeating the problems I'm facing, I was asked to wait for a call in 24-48 hrs and my shipments were already lying with them from the past 2 days. A lad called me after 2 days and AGAIN I was asked to wait for another 48 hrs for the resolution to be provided for he was not able to rectify the issue and the only answer given to was that "THERE IS SOME KIND OF SECURITY ISSUE".
Been waiting for their call ever since then and no communication at all from Borderlinx has been established, even though sent them an email literally requesting them to release my shipment as it was to be delivered very urgently for business needs or to send it back on their own expenditure. Still no response at all.
Discussed the whole matter my attorney & filing a police report against DHL, OHIO & Borderlinx foreign company for illegally holding our shipments without any reason and justification at all.
BELIEVE US FOLKS THAT WAS ONE OF THE WORST DECISION OF OUR LIVES TO RELY ON BORDERLINX FOR OUR BUSINESS NEEDS.
We just thought it's DHL only but that was a different story all together.

You've breached the agreed protocols by operating multiple accounts simultaneously due to which all your accounts have been suspended. Your account is USA registered with Indian address and is also 'Fraud' linked to couple of other accounts. Being a legal company we ensure that our platform is not misused and we have stringent policies in placed. Borderlinx admitted the accusations of cheating and disgraceful act but denied the negligent act.
3D Secure is employed by Citibank to process transactions from 3D Secure Merchants. To be a 3D Secure or non-3D Secure Merchant was entirely a selection by Borderlinx. It was no surprise that an earlier reviewer in this column posted a title "BUNCH OF IDIOTS".
There is no problem at all using the same card to pay for transactions with Amazon and PayPal.
It was a negligence of Borderlinx that they had not informed me about the change of their merchant status and caused my losses.
The title and contents of this review is still true and fair.
The following is the original review:
At the time I registered as a member, Borderlinx was not a "3D Secure" merchant. Customers were not required to have a mobile phone in order to pay by Citibank credit card.
Used Borderlinx services and paid by Citibank credit card several times with no hassle.
Borderlinx sebsequently participated as a "3D Secure" merchant without notice. Customers are then required to have a mobile phone in order to pay by Citibank credit card.
Having no knowledge of the changes (negligence of Borderlinx), I placed an order as usual and had the order delivered to Borderlinx for shipment. I do not use mobile phone and therefore cannot pay by Citibank credit card any more to release the shipment.
Borderlinx Support suggested me to modify the payment method to PayPal.
I accepted their suggestion, but when I tried to make payment by PayPal, I discovered that the shipping charges for payment via PayPal (US$33 something) was ridiculously higher (more than 40%) than that via Citibank card (US$23 something).
Borderlinx Support insisted that the shipping charges had not changed, but did not allow me to prove the changes.
To prove the changes, I need to modify the payment method from PayPal back to the original Citibank credit card. They said the payment method could modify once only and could not change back.
This is cheating and disgraceful. I wasted my money on the order unreasonably withheld by Borderlinx and wasted my time in negotiating with the unhelpful Borderlinx Support.

I purchased a bulk order and it arrived to their hub on February 7th. On February 10th the package arrived to my place which is located in the U.S. After opening it, I immediately realized that they shipped me the wrong order. The order was a men's $60 jacket. It was abundantly clear that they misplaced the label and sent me someone's else order. I contacted customer service immediately and provided photos of the package, label, and the jacket that was enclosed in the package. The first guy Anaad, was non-apologetic and asked me numerous questions about the package and made it seem like I was culpable for their mistake and negligence. Later he informed me that someone from their team will contact me within 3-4 days. He also advised that someone will come pick up the wrong package and they will arrange the best time for me. Basically, they will be using my service and my time for their mistake. I contacted customer the 3rd day, and the second guy informed me that they have located the package and they will ship it out very soon. Although he was nice and apologetic, I realized a couple of days later that no one has bothered to contact me. Today marks the 7th day, and I contacted customer service again. His response was "The issue is already escalated to the higher team and they are investigating the issue." I asked when can I expect for this issue to be resolved? No response. I asked him to have his supervisor contact me because I'm tired of sitting around waiting for my $500 + package to arrive. He claimed that someone will be in contact with me within the next 24 hours. All in all, beware at all costs. They won't refund you and they'll postpone contact for as long as possible. This is not a reliable shipping system and the customer service is horrific.

First they lost iltem and it took 2 weeks for them to jnderstand that they lost it than I have to waut 1 week for them to just give me a promo code. Then I ship another iltem Borderlinx wirh tracking number and then they stepped on my pacakge and send it like that. I filed a claim -their customer service agents are very rude they dont want to solve things- with Gelna after 2 weeks she drop me an email sayin that they can only refund 28.55$ instead of 100$. I gave another chance to Borderlinx again - I think that I am stupid- then they again lost my iltem and then I contwcted them and the Hérmes telling me that it has been delivered to CWILLIAMS - he olso lost my first package- and then I contacted with them again they transferred my case to Subir he is only supervisor in whole company he is creating prolems he never wants solve this problem. Today they are telling me that CWILLIAMS is no working in their warehouse but there is a signutre image there! Hérmes is company they wont tell something not true. Stay away from them Really.

Just finished my first transaction with BorderLinx. Bought a bunch of sale stuff from a company that did not enable shipping from USA to Canada. So... I used Borderlinx to act as the intermediary.
It cost 9.00USD to ship from the original retailer to the Borderlinx facility in Dayton Ohio - very cheap (FedEx Ground, 3-4 days transit time). From there, it took Borderlinx a little more than 1 business day to process the shipment into your "suite" and release it for shipping to the ultimate destination. The total cost of shipping was a bit hard to swallow (at first), but the charges are probably fair, in order for them to be profitable. The cost of shipping from Borderlinx was roughly 30USD for Express Next Day Delivery. That is a bargain considering the transit time! Most people don't necessarily need such a fast shipping time, but when it does arrive that quickly, how can you complain? However, the portion of the fee that will raise the total cost significantly, is the customs duties and taxes that Borderlinx will charge you on behalf of the customs broker. Usually, this should be roughly (at max) 30% of the cost of the original purchase (for clothing) - my corresponding Borderlinx portion of the cost was more than 30% of the total value of the merchandise. This is probably where they can make their money for providing this service - and in my opinion, that's pretty fair. I wanted something that my retailer wouldn't ship to Canada, and Borderlinx allowed me to grab those things (provided the retailer allows for different shipping and billing address to not match). Total cost was around 60USD to ship from US to Canada, and the total value of my original transaction was around 150USD. Hefty price, but it makes complete sense if you really want the goods! Note, I also used PayPay to purchase from the retailer - this helps since payment is coming from a verified source, and therefore the transaction is less likely to be cancelled by the retailer due to suspicion of fraud. I've seen a lot of people complain about cancelled Borderlinx orders, so do yourself a favor, and avoid those conditions.
I mean I dont even know where to start. I ordered a book like 3 weeks ago on the 16th aug. 2016 to the UKadress and it arrived on the 19th august. Then nothing happened...
On the 26th I was wondering why i still got no goods awaiting. So it took 1 day and 3 employee to figure out where my order was. They made a mistake/forget about it but it was allways been here. I told them it was a present wich i needed till the 31th August. They replied that they put it by the first workday in my suite so i can release it on the 29th and it still made it till the 31th. They didnt mention their mistake once again. I didnt get any refunds, which i was ok with. So on the 29th i was waiting waiting waiting... nothing happened. So i contaced them again. They told me to wait and I cant do anything. She seems to be very annoyed by me. So on the next day the 30th it finally made it to my Shipment to release. After I klicked on it I was schocked! They charge me 28 for an book?!? So i told them i wont buy this book if its so expensive. It didnt even make it till the 31th. Then they try (how i felt) to frigtend me bout their returing policy and i have to pay 30pfund plus 15pfund and so on. So shipping to me cost 28 and shipping back to the seller 50+?! So I just payed it and let me tell you. For me they are unreliable and I will N E V E R use Borderlinx again! Excuse my negative attitude I never ad witness something like this in my entire life. I hope this review can help you guys. Not recomented isnt even close to what Im thinking of.

I purchased a parcel on 1/1/14 from a US merchant who did ship to Australia but had extremely high shipping prices. Decided to use Borderlinx as, based on the weight of my package, they were supposedly a much cheaper option. I understood they also considered volumetric weight but my parcel was not very large (two shirts and a small duffel bag) so I figured this would not increase the price too much.
No begins the hell story - they received my package and I went to pay for it to be re-shipped to Australia. Their 'budget' option was going to cost $150 USD to ship. $150! The items I had purchased only just cost that much, so it went from being an estimated $200 purchase including shipping to almost $400. Beyond RIDICULOUS. I contacted customer service via email and they never responded so decided to internet chat with a customer service rep. He gave me a scripted 'volumetric weight costs extra, this is airline standard etc etc' response and said my only option was to get a return to merchant authorisation and pay $35 to return to sender (who is also based in the same Ohio area as Borderlinx). Long story short the merchant does not issue the return authorisation so I was forced to pay the $160 fee for my parcel.
The issue I have with Borderlinx is that in no way does should my parcel have cost $160 to ship. This is a complete RIP OFF - I have shipped very similar parcels via airmail with USPS before and it has cost under $50. If I had gone with the merchant's shipping option it would have cost me $60 - $70. So how does a re-shipping company, which should be able to get competitive shipping rates for customers, charge $100 extra than the norm to ship a parcel?
I also knew the weight and $ value of may parcel before I committed to using Borderlinx. According to their cost calculator it should have only cost me $40 to send to Australia which is quite normal and a lot cheaper than the merchant's options. Volumetric weight is a total SCAM, a consumer cannot possibly know the volumetric weight/ dimensions of their package before they receive it. Borderlinx doesn't 're-pack' your items if they are already in a box e.g. shoes in a shoebox, they just change the external packaging. If I had these items posted through USPS, Australia Post, DHL etc they would charge me on how heavy the item was and not 'volumetric weight.'
DO NOT make the mistake of using this company to ship your items. Do your research and find a more reputable site which offers a competitive rate and if your merchant offers shipping - go with that instead.
Borderlinx received my phone in a sealed box, they have sent just accessories to my address WITHOUT THE PHONE! THIS IS A BIG SCAM!
