The overall reputation of the company reflects significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to inadequate customer service and a lack of accountability. Many reviews highlight issues such as harsh refund policies, unresponsive support, and problems with fraudulent listings, leading to frustrations over lost funds and unresolved complaints. While some customers appreciate the variety of accommodations offered, the overwhelming sentiment indicates a lack of trust in the company's commitment to customer satisfaction. To improve its reputation, the company must enhance its customer service responsiveness and take greater responsibility for the listings it promotes.

I have just spent over two hours trying to book flights on Booking.com and most of the flights I select end up not being available. Somehow the website needs to figure out how to keep up with what is available and what isn't, rather than continuing to display flights as though they are available.
I also contacted customer service about this, both via email and by phone, and did not receive satisfactory help in making a booking.
While traveling, I learned that my brother had a plumbing emergency at his house (where I planned to stay). Went online to find an alternative. Booking.com did not reveal that there was a cancellation charge (in fact, the entire one-night stay) until AFTER I had made the hotel reservation. Even then, the information was halfway down the page, buried within a list of other things. While this may be legal, it's sleazy. I'm a frequent traveler, but I won't be using Booking.com again!
I cannot believe how many bad reviews are on here. I have been using Booking.com for years- never needed to contact customer service.
Almost two months ago I made a booking and the property asked through the messages for extra personal details on an external website- including bank details and an additional deposit. I then contacted Booking.com, saying that I would like to cancel, and asked if I would be charged as obv I didn't want to give bank details outside their website.
The lady on the phone reassured me there wouldn't be any charges and I would be refunded (paid in total). I have been refunded everything apart from the 1st night- which the property didn't t wanted to repay me, although I have multiple emails and proof that I can get all my money back. Since then, with a lot of back and forth and still missing my £150.
I have been told so many times that there will pay me- first within 4-5 days- then 12-15, then again after another complaint in 24h... this is unacceptable. I feel terrible for the staff working there as I am aware it is not them. But the company's awful system. I will make sure I will leave bad reviews, contact Consumer righter/ citizen advice, and do everything I can to get my money back, as this is an absolute joke! Never using them again either!
Booked a hotel stay ended up moving out of state and having to change the dates the hotel confirmed booking.com request and my request for date change. They booking.com states that they never confirmed on their end and I almost ended up losing 400 dollar. Thank god for the hotel stepping in and honoring our resheduled dates otherwise I would have been SOL
I booked a two night stay at embassy suites. Paid 743.00 confirmed it with the manager there in San Antonio and the board walk. Two months later here in San Antonio and my last day I noticed embassy suites charging my card again for that amount. Front desk lady said they have been trying to collect from booking. Com but they haven't been able to collect. So they are charging my card. Scam with both companies in my eyes. Sneaky way to collect. Not write. I tried to dispute it with PayPal and they can't do anything either. This Sucks! No customer service at either company. I hope this helps you and not the companies.
I would rather this company charge me fees to book on their site rather than tell me there are no fees and offer ABSOLUTELY no technical support to its so called "partners". Do NOT expect a user friendly app...do NOT expect easily accessible messages; in fact, you will be forced to use a dinosaur to communicate called the EXTRANET. Do NOT be fooled and list your property on here; they will invoice YOU for their lack of support.
DO NOT USE BOOKING.COM FOR YOUR TRAVEL! I just had the most horrific experience with this company and ended up costing me another $1,500 to switch flights myself. Their customer service could not be worse.
I just booked an executive room in Florida that had a picture of a king bed with an ocean view. After paying and getting my confirmation it was noted that it was a full size bed with not that view. No refund offered as I didn't have the three day window. Only option was to pay more money and hope for a room with at least a queen size bed. Very misleading and deceiving.
Please i beg you never waist your money on staying at this slum.it isn't what it says.the food is puke.the beer is warm.and over priced.the room is rubbish.ordered fish and chips.no fish.had a chicken and beef burger.it was vile.heard a member of staff threaten another staff member from the kitchen.come on the if you think you are a f.ukin man.what a slum.
They will take your money month down road and act like they have no idea what you are talking about and you have to go through so many hoops just to try and get it back.
First time booking a flight in forever. Unfortunately I didn't do my research. Booked a flight from booking.com from USA to Philippines. 2 months before date to leave, they canceled my flight. I called an they told me I had to request cancelation. (probably so they can take there cut) here it is two an half months later an I've called multiple times. They just keep telling me to wait an there team will get back with me. Which never does. So who knows how long I will be waiting to get refund if I even do at all. Asked them if I would get refund before end of the year, they say yes, but doesn't look like it will happen
You send continous mails and complaints, nobody takes action. Their email doesnt work, and when you contact customercare through manage booking, they remove the booking/or when you put confirmation number, it always shows error so u cant basically complain. Pathetic
Don't dealing with booking.com, very bad,
Unresponsive and we can said fraud, don't believe it. 2 bedroom after paid become 1 bedroom + 1 extra bed in dining room
Sarkas suite, dishwasher broken, bath up leak, stove didn't work properly. Dangerous conditions. Shame on you, disgrace
I had to ask Booking.com to provide a refund for a non-refundable reservation *******441 due to my partner's unexpected death. Booking.com contacted the hotel provider on my behalf and organised a full refund with no cancelation fees. They were of a great help and showed compassion to me in the saddest time of my life. Thank you!
The specifics of the property I stayed at, including the address, were misrepresented and not revealed until I arrived at the property. In fact, I was told to go to a neighbouring property to meet the host. If I had known the history of this property I would not have stayed here. A quick Google search reveals ongoing issues with alarms going off in the middle of the night, multiple shootings that left bullet holes in the building, facilities including elevators and fitness not maintained, etc. The Host and Booking.com were uncommunicative. I booked this through booking.com but when I need to make a change to the booking, Booking.com was of no help. In fact, their responses to my requests came from a "noreply" email address so it was impossible to communicate with them adequately. My requests to the host for a receipt for the extra day I paid for have been ignored.
I rented a place with my family, under the impression that they were renting a decent room, based on a false advertisement allowed by Booking.com. I tried to contact the owner to request the change, the cancellation, but it is not possible. There are contact details on the Booking.com website that no one answers. I tried to get at least a partial refund and booking.com is useless. TERRIBLE customer service, they only send automated excuses designed by the marketing department. Will avoid using them again.
Mis-booked hotel room and initially told me to submit claim with paperwork once I'd paid the extra to the hotel. Claims then met with same constant reference to not being their problem as "Partner Offer" despite all contact, booking, and payments being to Booking.com. Not hotel error!
Mails to executives merely fed back into the No-Customer Service team.
Was listed as a Host for 2 years and got one booking total (ironic as we are the TOP property in our area with other platforms.
Johnny Vago of Booking.com starts blasting us on email that he's been trying trying to reach us (LIES) and threating to delist us, etc. We end up wasting a bunch of time trying to fix things and the system keeps giving errors.
One booking in 2 years ISN'T WORTH OUR TIME or this harassment.
We are INDEPENDENT HOSTS. You make a commission (14 - 25%!) when you actually bring us bookings. One in 2 years isn't worth this BS or Harassment.
We are FULLY booked without you. WAVING BYE BYE!
The last thing we need is some guy in a call center barking orders at us or else!
If you use them, you are the fool! That's our warning, you will not reach customer service, you will not be satisfied. Case Closed
Answer: In my case they took my payment information and paid the hotel where I was going to be staying. Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.
Answer: Don't waste time with booking.com. They have horrible customer service and will make every attempt to cheat you. Simply report the problem to your credit card company to get your refund.
Answer: Run. Run away. This company and the company used to insure their bookings are scams.
Answer: I don't know why you're even using this site Stephanie. Their after sales is disgusting! Recommend travel Republic. Great prices and options
Answer: You pay a non refundable price on line. When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.
Answer: It depends on the hotel some don't charge until you arrive at hotel more will charge your card straight away check your booking it should tell you there
Answer: Trevago is hooked into Booking.com don't make a mistake and let trevago send you to booking.com go to Hotel.com which is more professional. I had to go to American Express customer serviced to complain and they gave a dead line for explanation. They had no explanation for crappy service and had to repay me.
Answer: NOT BOOKING.CON
Answer: You will need to pay taxes in addition to the quoted price. Call the motel and they will tell you about the taxes. A few places still don't charge exttra taxes e.g. Harris Ranch in California.
Answer: You can't. That's the whole idea. You provide a service, and your customers get to give their review of your place and your services.
