The overall reputation of the company reflects significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to inadequate customer service and a lack of accountability. Many reviews highlight issues such as harsh refund policies, unresponsive support, and problems with fraudulent listings, leading to frustrations over lost funds and unresolved complaints. While some customers appreciate the variety of accommodations offered, the overwhelming sentiment indicates a lack of trust in the company's commitment to customer satisfaction. To improve its reputation, the company must enhance its customer service responsiveness and take greater responsibility for the listings it promotes.

We booked a hotel called la Mirada outside Ronda in Spain with booking.com but failed to find it. The access shown on the map was on an extremely narrow and nasty road - we asked four people if they knew where la Mirada was. None could help. We rang the hotel three times and only got a recorded message. It now transpires that the hotel was not at the location shown on booking.coms map - not unusual but irritating - and what was worse it went under a different name - something that was never suggested by booking.com. Finally at 5pm in January had to give up and seek rooms elsewhere. We e-mailed booking to say we had failed to locate the property only for them to send a reply that we were no show. Our credit card had been charged under the name Hacienda d l Muelos. Further reading of reviews shows that scores of other travellers had the same problem. But when we sought redress from booking.com we were fobbed off. Not their responsibility it seems to provide accurate information. Why didnt you phone us? But another 'agent' said they had had problems getting a response, and the hotel manager didnt speak much English, but we should ring the hotel to try to get a refund. Meanwhile the misinformation remains on booking.com's website. We have made several hundred bookings with booking/com but never again. They have got too big and too automated and too complacent.
Sorry no photos - we didn't find the place
After booking hotel through booking.com and got room confirmed after reaching to hotel gowtham coimbatore
Receptionist rejected my booking told that don't trust the confirmation from booking.com I should call to hotel for confirmation.
Very bad experience.
I recently booked a motel room in Hollywood, FL for 9 days through Booking.com. It was a disgusting, filthy place. Within 1 hr of checking in i contacted Booking.com and explained the situation. They acted like they were sympathetic and would help get a refund, I now realize this was simply lip service. They acted like they too were appalled by the condition of this room. I should have looked at legitimate booking companies and their reviews for this place. Seems like this place has had many bad reviews elsewhere. I'd strongly suggest using another booking agent and NOT Booking.com. They will leave you high and dry. I've attempted to leave my review of the Mariner motel on Booking.coms website. But it seems I've been blocked from doing so!
I found out on my holiday location, it was a fake location. I was being cheated by hackers on their website. By applying the phishing nethod, they knew how to retrieve my creditcard data by contacting ne via WhatsApp with a fake profile receptionist. My money was transferred to a cryptocurrency platform Rintal. My bank won't refund it, because they consider these transaction as legal in the agreement they have with Mastercard. Off course the transaction data won't reveal the merchant. Would any thief identify himself? But this is something they require for refunding. Which is totally contradictory. The interaction between customer support and a not probably fraude team is completely passive. There is no case owner at all, managing these issues where you need to send the same information repeatedly every time you contact them. Today I forced customer support but this reaction says it all. I am going to consult legal support, but never book a trip with them.
And they did not help me to solve the problem they are very unprofessional you cannot trust them They changed my reservation a week before without my consent
I tried to reserve a 1 bedroom condo on the beach for 4 nights in PCB, FL.
The cost of the room was $1155 (not too bad, right?). AFTER all of your ridiculous fees, the total was over 2K!
Ya'll in the business of robbing people? No, thanks! I'll just go to Mexico ALL INCLUSIVE for 7 nights for the same cost! Get the heck outta here!
I bought a hotel and flight from the Booking 4 months ago for this February, and they didn't pay any money to the hotel, and the hotel asked me to pay because we didn't get money from booking, when I called the Booking, nobody was responsible for answering us; I have my confirmation number and own pin code. They $#*!ing still the money from the client's already losing my time and money
I bought two tickets to Istanbul, Turkey for January 7 from BOOKING.COM. On the ticket it said there is no checked baggage allowed! So I had to buy 20 kg extra baggage for 59 Euro. And when I went to airport to check in before the flight, they told me I have 30kg checked baggage on my ticket! And they said you didn't need to pay for extra baggage! Can you believe! I paid 59 Euro extra just because of their poor information.
I booked my flight months ago. I was not informed it was cancelled and found out in the airport our flight was not cancelled when I checked. The night before our flight I received an an alert from go to gate that my flight is ready for online check in when I checked in it was not confirmed. I had to call booking.com and was told to call the airline myself. My sister had to book another airline to fly back to Houston because we were informed there were no seats available and it costs her more $2thousand plus I had to pay TMoblie for the international calls I made. Horrible.
Booking.com is the worse… I booked a flight to Manila and it took them 1.5 months and still they couldn't issue me the ticket. They keep sending me emails saying they will issue the ticket but never did and I needed the ticket to get the visa. I ended up calling to cancel the ticket and as I checked with the airline and they said it wasn't reserved at all. Also while calling customer service I was handed over 3 times to different teams each time repeating the same information.
No help, no refund when airline cancelled flights. Bought the insurance. They don't process claims. 30 days later had to dispute through my credit card company. First night stay was to be reimbursed, no refund. Never. Again. Wish I could give negative stars.
Buyer Beware - you have until the same day you book to cancel a booking. We booked at 6pm and only had until 11:59 the same day to cancel that room. And who knows about a cancellation the very same day. The hotel never received a penny for the booking and were more than happy to cancel it but booking.com kept the full amount of the booking.
I will never use it again. I sold hotels and the very best way to book i a room is to go direct, the hotel then has total control of how to work with you. Most hotels are happy to cancel a room for you.
Never Again.
Despite Booking.com regulation forbidding CAMERAS installed on premises in private areas that are exclusively rented by guests and for common areas inside flats that are actually private if an entire property is rented by a booker, cameras were installed indoors, covering living room, kitchen and 1st floor hallway. It was mentioned that there was an alarm in the living room-kitchen and the hallway of the second floor but NOT mentioned that there are Cameras on those alarms too.
Flat was not cleaned properly and bathroom had old and moldy non hygienic seals
Neighboring dogs barked day & night keeping us awake
It was mentioned in the ad: Enjoy the view: Mountain view & Ocean view: No mountain view, bits of ocean view only when you are on first floor. You have a dump view in the front with rubbish and garbage bags.
Swimming pool was not heated in contrary of what was advertised, it was cold and dirty
Hole was in the wall where an electrical socket was supposed to be.
On pictures, a ceiling fan was supposed to be present but it was not. Bookiply replied that it is written that there is no AC at this time therefore no ceiling fan... An AC is not a Ceiling fan...
We did not stay and left on our second night mainly as we were uncomfortable with privacy issues.
Despite numerous requests to Bookiply and Booking we have not been refunded for our stay.
Bookiply has been unprofessional and of bad faith about trying to fix the problems.
This is definitely not a flat nor a company I would recommend to anyone. It is a very deceptive advertisement.
I have booked multiple properties recently which have either not been up to standard or booking.com has confirmed on the properties behalf that amenities are available when they haven't been. There is no way to get your money back or receive any quality assistance with these bookings. You're best to book directly and cut booking.com out completely.
We booked a family vacation to Miami during christmas time December 2022. Booked 2 rooms at riveria sutie south beach. Due to winter storm our flight got cancelled and there was no flight for the whole week. We called hotel reception, they asked to contact booking.com as it was booked through them. The customer rep told us that they will help us get the refund as this is an exceptional situation and since we are genius level3, they will give us a refund even if the hotel denies it. After 2 weeks of follow up the story changed to NO REFUND will be given as hotel wants to stick to their no refund policy! Whenever we call there is no Manager on duty.
I have used Booking.com for years - BECAUSE IT'S EASY. Problem is they seem to be playing both sides against the middle for max profit. You cannot really rely on reviews, as most, if not all, appear to be "rigged" or written by someone who didn't stay at the same place you did! Owners are as greedy as Booking.com! I will never pay "in advance again" thinking review ratings and photographs are even close to being accurate reality - HA, they are not! I wonder how or IF they screen owners who list rentals. Some of them are downright scary, putting people in uncomfortable compromising situations.
I tried to cancel a flight literally 20 minutes after the booking. I could not reach help or find a path on the net to do this. I will delete this app and not recommend it in the future
I say because I ask myself what they add to the industry? What added value do they have? They just take commission for nothing. They don't take responsibility so rather book directly.
We went to Green Bay Wisconsin over the New Year's weekend. I had booked and paid through booking.com weeks in advance. We got to our hotel and had to use our credit card for incidentals. We got home and realized we were charged for the stay. I called the hotel and they said the card booking.com used to pay for our room had declined so we were charged. I called booking.com and talked to customer service. I was then sent an email asking for proof of these transactions. I replied right back with all documentation they required. It has now been 3 weeks and the charge is still on my card. I will just pay it and accept the fact that I was screwed over. I will never use this company again and I highly advice anyone looking to book with them to find somewhere else!
When something goes wrong they don't help you! I had booked a hotel with booking.com in Miami beachside hotels. Had rats in my room, didn't get my money back 8 days and booking.com doesn't help! I will never book with booking com again
Answer: In my case they took my payment information and paid the hotel where I was going to be staying. Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.
Answer: Don't waste time with booking.com. They have horrible customer service and will make every attempt to cheat you. Simply report the problem to your credit card company to get your refund.
Answer: Run. Run away. This company and the company used to insure their bookings are scams.
Answer: I don't know why you're even using this site Stephanie. Their after sales is disgusting! Recommend travel Republic. Great prices and options
Answer: You pay a non refundable price on line. When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.
Answer: It depends on the hotel some don't charge until you arrive at hotel more will charge your card straight away check your booking it should tell you there
Answer: Trevago is hooked into Booking.com don't make a mistake and let trevago send you to booking.com go to Hotel.com which is more professional. I had to go to American Express customer serviced to complain and they gave a dead line for explanation. They had no explanation for crappy service and had to repay me.
Answer: NOT BOOKING.CON
Answer: You will need to pay taxes in addition to the quoted price. Call the motel and they will tell you about the taxes. A few places still don't charge exttra taxes e.g. Harris Ranch in California.
Answer: You can't. That's the whole idea. You provide a service, and your customers get to give their review of your place and your services.
