The overall reputation of the company reflects significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to inadequate customer service and a lack of accountability. Many reviews highlight issues such as harsh refund policies, unresponsive support, and problems with fraudulent listings, leading to frustrations over lost funds and unresolved complaints. While some customers appreciate the variety of accommodations offered, the overwhelming sentiment indicates a lack of trust in the company's commitment to customer satisfaction. To improve its reputation, the company must enhance its customer service responsiveness and take greater responsibility for the listings it promotes.

Pray you never need any help. The website is extremely hard to navigate. I just want to print out my trip from last year for taxes. Nope no current trip no can do. Want to use help and support nope no can do you don't have a current trip. Use expidia so much better if you have any issues.
I didn't realize booking.com apparently picks up other companies offering rental property and to resolve any issues the don't talk to the property owners but the company that represents the property owner. If they can't contact the company that represents the property owner. Your screwed. Booking.com is a scam for resolving any issues. I would never use them again and I will tell everyone I know
Just want to ensure people don't get scammed as well. Booking.com is not doing anything despite me finding images of the place I've booked showing to be an abandoned building. I will be fighting to get a refund due to their lack of trying to help and lack of property owner willing to talk over the phone and do a virtual tour with me to show me the place. Red flags all over the place. Assumed booking.com was more reputable than this. Please do your research before booking.

Holiday Inn Express Columbia SC-POOR
I booked a room at this hotel 1 month in advance for my daughter who was turning 10! A big thing to us to be turning double digits, that is why we booked on booking.com in advance, and of course to use the POOL.
We arrived at the hotel at check in at 3pm and was told "then" that the owner will not allow us to check in because we live less than a 30-mile radius to the hotel. This was so hurtful for my family and I. We were never told this while booking, I called and confirmed my reservation with hotel after booking on booking.com and they said to me I see your reservation you are good to go!
A month later when we return to the hotel the day of her birthday, to be told this, my friend who is from Atlanta was with us and she attempted to book the room everything was good to go, and BOOM the clerk told us the POOL! Was out of service. This was the most dissatisfying experience ever!
The owner has not informed booking.com that this is his rule to booking this hotel, after speaking with booking they did apologize, but an apology sometimes doesn't fix this issue at hand.
After calling around to hotels we did find a hotel to accommodate our needs 3 hours later Comfort Inn & Suites.
This is horrible communication and customer service. I will NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone. Your policy is not fair, and it is not noted to a PRIOR BOOKING! AND IT SHOULD BE!
I will give this hotel a 1-star rating because there was a person at the front desk, and she did apologize and was very understanding of the inconvenience! This had caused.
I made a reservation on January 24th and Booking.com cancelled my reservation on January 25th without ANY notification and they disabled my account. When I called them to get an answer on this, they said that the information of my cancelling was "confidential"...say what? DONE...moving to something better. This is second time they screwed up my reservation!
Booked a trip via Booking.com; got booked on Priceline. I cannot get my trip information anywhere and it is so very frustrating. I have contacted them and they sent an email, but I cannot pull the information up on my phone. I sure hope the trip is valid when we get to the airport... Will not use either site again.
I booked online for a trip in April for my honeymoon. My husband and I found a room for a great price in Vegas! I booked the room paid in full. I called a couple days later to make sure my reservation was good to go before we left. The hotel didn't have my reservation, The money was taken out of my account but the reservation was never sent to the hotel. I called booking.com to find out what was going on, after being on hold for over 30 mins I was told that I needed to call the hotel to have them "accept" the reservation. I told booking.com that that wasn't my job to make sure they recieved my reservation. I paid my money through their site to secure my booking. The lady that was helping me then told me that they have no way to contact the property because they don't have a number. I offered to give them the phone number that i literally just used to contact the hotel.SHe then told me that they couldnt use that number because she wasn't sure if it was " legit". I asked to speak to a manager to see if there was something else that could be done, I was put on hold for about an hour and still have not talked to a superviser. I cancelled by booking through them and I will NEVER use them again. I will pay the extra 40.00 difference per night and go back to using hotels.com. DO NOT USE THEM
It was my first and definitely LAST time to buy flight tickets through booking.com
Horrible customer service. I bought a tickets in December, my flight has changed 3 times and finally I canceled the purchase because they were not able to get the wanted original tickets. It was no reason for cancelation, I just bought the same tickets directly from airline. But I lose my money because 2 month later the price went up! Ridiculous!
We booked a hotel at roadway inn on highway 17 in phoenix. When we arrived at the hotel about 815 pm we were told the room wasn't ready. The manager then disappeared. Would not answer the phone. Spent at least an hour on the phone trying to resolve this. Booking. Com said it wasn't their problem. That I needed to talk to Priceline or the hotel manager. The parking was filled with homeless people and drug addicts who were using drugs there. It felt very unsafe so we left so we didn't have to sleep in the parking lot. Of course they kept our money. Don't book with them.
Beware I thought I was on the actual hotel site and these scumbags websites was disguised as the actual hotel ended up charging me 105 more than the actual hotel cost beware before you book and make sure it's actually the hotels websites
It is Impossible to submit a complaint. We were charged Non-Hotel Guest Resort Fee $35 per day by COSTA Hollywood beach resort, got no explanation from the establishment, tried and could not complain to BOOKING.COM.
I booked and paid for a room at a hotel in Medicine Hat Alberta for the 8th of Feb. This year through Booking.com. When I arrived the desk clerk told me no reservation or payment had been made and I would have pay for the room. The clerk told me since I hadn't received a confirmation number from Booking.com likely nothing would be charged to my credit card. When my Visa statement arrived it showed a charge of $81.85 to Booking.com as well as the charge from the hotel. I spent an entire afternoon contacting Booking.com, and getting the runaround. They couldn't find my email or my phone number, or any evidence of a charge to my account, but they certainly found my credit card number to take my money. I was told because there was no confirmation number to refer to, a refund could not be processed and there was nothing that could be done about it. I will never use their service again and would warn others to avoid them like the plague. Booking.com should get negative stars
Pire service de voyage. Nous nous sommes fait augmenter le prix de notre réservation 3 semaines après l'avoir réserver. Une augmentation de 150% et lorsque nous avons essayer de trouver quelque chose d'autres notre destination était complète.
Very difficult to get answers from them. I spent an hour on the phone and was told I would receive my payout the next day and to call if I didn't get it. I called the next day and was told they hadn't even facilitated the payment, and that I needed to! After speaking to multiple people they finally released the customers credit card info (yes, the houses you rent out can see all of your credit card info), but then they didn't give me a zip code to actually run the card! I had to speak to three separate people and had to be called back and transferred to numerous representatives (they have to call you back on a separate number to discuss anything) only to find out they didn't collect the persons address. How have they been in business so long? They told me they were going to put me on hold and call the customer and ask him for it and it was 11:30pm at night! I finally told them that I would contact the customer myself and get the zip code and i asked them not to contact them, because they still seemed confused about what I needed. 10 minutes later I received an email from them saying they needed MY zip code to run the payment. They not only went against my request to not contact the customer, but they accidentally contacted me instead.
Aside from that it was very confusing on how to list your property and set up the proper terms to rent out a place and even though I selected to have my house be rented out a minimum of 5 days someone was still able to rent it out for 3 (for less then the price I had listed). And no I didn't have any discounts available. Use air bnb or vrbo that are much easier and professional to work with.
Really frustrating. I booked a $5k package. A week later my hotel was cancelled due to over booking (a week before departure), when I called, I was told I would get an email with a link to change hotels. I never received that. Finally I called to just get a refund and was told they wont refund my flights. So I have a flight but no hotel. No one responds no one follows up. I was told that their platform allows the hotel to manage the inventory, so they can overbook and then just cancel on you and you have no recourse. The hotel they were promoting was still on their site showing availability for that week even though it was sold out. So others could have booked and then received a cancel. It's really bad business. I will never use this company again.
I can't be mad at the property. They double booked, but it happens. I get that. They offered me a different place and it wouldn't work for me. I rejected it. I figured we could work something out.
I reached our to booking.com about the situation and attempted to find a resolution. I figured it'd take a day, maybe an hour, whatever, to find out some kind of middle ground. They double booked, but they did say they wanted money up front. I booked this 20 minutes ago, but the doorman at the location told me every facet of the situation (Thank you, sir. I wish I could review how awesome you were.) I figured there'd be some cancelation fee, but I hoped that Booking.com would help me find one that was slightly reduced.
Nope. Within 5 minutes of me asking to cancel, Booking.com returned by saying that the company said no. They offered me a waiver for a property in the future, but that's it.
What is the point of using a website like booking.com if they will do nothing to protect me in situations like this? Again, I could understand being told I'd have to pay a fee. Hell, I'd understand if they took a day and there was nothing they could do.
Less than 5 minutes. Less than 5 minutes and they told.me they couldn't do anything. They reached out, the dude said no, and they said "We tried!'
I just figured I'd use Booking.com cuz stuff like this happens. Instead of aiding in a resolution, they just let the other side do whatever they wanted. If that's all the help.i was gonna get, I should have skipped the middle man and just booked with them myself.
It's a useless website. They don't care about you as a customer, they just want you to look at the ads.
DO NOT USE BOOKING.COM - Falsely advertised disgusting accommodation that was completely uninhabitable which we could not stay in. Multiple calls and emails to Helpline requesting refund - no response at all.
I will NEVER go through Booking.com… We made reservations for our family. I then received an email from Booking.com saying it was pending. Called Booking.com 5x's and was getting the run-around saying they could not find our reservation! They had me call another Booking, com number & this person told me they had the reservation but wanted to know if it was already charged to the bank. I called my bank to see if it had been charged. The bank told me that it was authorized & approved but were waiting for BOOKING.COM to submit transaction to our bank. Booking.com did not submit it. Booking cancelled our reservation. NEVER AGAIN!
My husband is 81 years old. He became ill before our trip. We could not go. I canceled the trip that day. So I called them regarding a refund. The person put my cancellation in the day I called about the charge against my debit card. Be very careful. We're an elderly couple and need the money We will never use this booking app again
Answer: In my case they took my payment information and paid the hotel where I was going to be staying. Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.
Answer: Don't waste time with booking.com. They have horrible customer service and will make every attempt to cheat you. Simply report the problem to your credit card company to get your refund.
Answer: Run. Run away. This company and the company used to insure their bookings are scams.
Answer: I don't know why you're even using this site Stephanie. Their after sales is disgusting! Recommend travel Republic. Great prices and options
Answer: You pay a non refundable price on line. When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.
Answer: It depends on the hotel some don't charge until you arrive at hotel more will charge your card straight away check your booking it should tell you there
Answer: Trevago is hooked into Booking.com don't make a mistake and let trevago send you to booking.com go to Hotel.com which is more professional. I had to go to American Express customer serviced to complain and they gave a dead line for explanation. They had no explanation for crappy service and had to repay me.
Answer: NOT BOOKING.CON
Answer: You will need to pay taxes in addition to the quoted price. Call the motel and they will tell you about the taxes. A few places still don't charge exttra taxes e.g. Harris Ranch in California.
Answer: You can't. That's the whole idea. You provide a service, and your customers get to give their review of your place and your services.
