The overall reputation of the company reflects significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to inadequate customer service and a lack of accountability. Many reviews highlight issues such as harsh refund policies, unresponsive support, and problems with fraudulent listings, leading to frustrations over lost funds and unresolved complaints. While some customers appreciate the variety of accommodations offered, the overwhelming sentiment indicates a lack of trust in the company's commitment to customer satisfaction. To improve its reputation, the company must enhance its customer service responsiveness and take greater responsibility for the listings it promotes.

I booked a trip to Sevilla where my car rental was booked via booking.com. They had a very fair deal of a mid size car for a little bit over 250 euro for 18 days. I also bought my full insurance from booking.com for 100 euro. Fair enough!
When we late night arrive to the subcontractor OK Mobility, I gave them my voucher of my deal with Booking.com. Yes, the car was no problem. No, the insurance was not valid. I tried to argue of course, but it ended with that if I would like to have the car, I needed to pay OK Mobilitys insurance. I paid the insurance, 370 Euro, almost twice the cost of the car! Hilarious!
Back in Sweden again, I contacted of course booking.com and demanded my 370 extra euros back from them, because booking.com sold me an invalid insurance. I was of course ok with the initial 100 euro insurance booking.coms costed me.
When I finally got an answer, booking.com hide behind several legal terms and said I should have called them up so they could have talked to OK Mobility. Well, have any one of you tried to CALL Booking.com? Close to midnight! Completely pointless. They are sorry for my troubles, but any kind of refund is out of the question. They should pay back my initial 100 euros for the invalid insurance they falsely sold me. Thanks booking.com!
Conclusion: Never trust boken.com. Never do any kind of business with them, since you have no chance to get right against them. Stay out of any of there so-called services. Don't use the at all. Then you can be safe.
Roger from Sweden
Booked a hotel threw them got there was overbooked. No refund. I have emailed back and forth sent everything and still no money. Horrible customer service
Trying to work with customer service rep for months to resolve a tech issue. No results. Horrible!
Booking.com is great as long as all goes as planned! If it doesn't, then you are on your own! After sending multiple notes to customer service, I realized I was dealing with Robots.
I finally had a call make it through to a woman in the Philippines (Yes I asked her where she was). The reason why I asked is that she could not understand me and I couldn't understand her. She asked if I could speak another language than English!
The very scarry thing is that these days so many accommodation providers go through Booking.com.
If there is anyway you can go direct instead, I recommend you do - but sadly it's often not even possible.
Arranging for taxi service with Booking.com at Miami International was a HUGE mistake! First we were texted by "someone" who never referenced Booking.com and said he would be our driver a couple of days in advance of our trip, Gave us a bunch of directions, NONE of which jived with the instructions Booking.com gave us about how to meet with our driver at our destination airport. Then a few hours in advance of our arrival we received an e-mail from Booking.com naming a completely different driver name who would pick us up. Neither driver arrived according to the Booking.com instructions we were provided with. We were stranded after pre-paying our taxi fee ROUND-TRIP! Thanks for nothing Bookings dot com! I will be disputing the credit card charge since we did not receive the services we paid for, And received a lot more aggravation than we bargained for. I will be posting this feedback on Trip Advisor you can be sure!
I have booked over 20 hotels through booking.com and very very rarely have I paid at the property, the 'total price' listed on my booking.com reservation. This past weekend between 2 hotels, I paid an additional $60.00 for one night stay at each property. As well, the 'money' in my 'wallet' seems to disappear without any kind of explanation where it was 'spent'. Not a great rewards program at all. I will be booking direct from now on as I see no benefit whatsoever with booking.com. I will be removing all credit card/personal information from my account.
Customer service is shocking. Booked a hotel for 2 nights as it stated that it had a bar to find when we get there that it is shut, we choose this hotel over a previous hotel we had stayed at before in the same town to experience a different place, wish we hadn't now. Come back from a day sightseeing and have to sit in our room and have a drink from a supermarket, ot my idea of a relaxing break. No empathy what soever and still not changed the information on the hotels details
It's been now 4 months since I had made a booking and the hotel cancelled on me last minute. I've called them so many times and their email address never works, still no refund after so many promises and email claiming that it was done. At this point im just glad I've deleted my account, because I've wasted so much energy, time and money on calling them over and over to get this right. Stay away from them.
My only regret is that I did not come to check the reviews here before this experience, now I know to stick to airbnb
Very high commission. Service is very bad. Cannot get hold of them. They money grabbers with no service and became too big - think they untouchable. The review system is the worst in the world. Rather book direct.
Flight delays for weather and charged for airport transfer. This is a scam website and no one should purchase from them.
This site has awful customer service and offers you room upgrade for a price which is much more than presented. Try calling or using there chat for customer service and good luck at getting a response. They try to blame the issues on the property you are booking and take no responsibility of there own. Once you have given your card info good luck getting any changes.
Worst experience ever with a booking site!
Below you will see a picture of a room upgrade they offed for 6.65$ turns out it was 92$ and 42$ tax
This is a scam and fraud
I booked a hotel room with booking.com this afternoon with a fast talking agent and when I got to my room I went online to check my credit card expenses. I was surprised to see a booking fee expense so I called booking.com for an explanation. The lady who answered was also a fast talker but she she passed me off to a fellow who talked so fast he made the first two look slow. I asked him about the booking fee, and he said they had approval for the hotel fee plus the booking fee. I assured him I was not made aware of the fee and I did not authorize the booking fee. In short order he said he would reverse the fee, so at least they did that. I shall not use booking.com for future reservations.
Wow Factor Getway
Just to say this place is so quite peaceful and tranquil. Birdlife, kangaroos other animals.
Gary & Darrell are the perfect host. Meet Gary he made me welcome. Had 2 nights stay.
Just amazing awersome place to stay.
Definitely will go back.

The new rule is awful, Booking doesn't care about their partners, their business. Even to contact with Booking gets very difficult. Should just leave and end up out 10 years partnership this useless administration. Their new rule brings money via the ruining partners business..
Beware of misleading and information when booking through this site. I booked a hotel room to stay overnight for a football match. The hotel fee was not refundable so Booking.com offered an insurance to cover the cancellation. The match was postponed so I put a claim ion to Zurich the other partner in the scam. They have just declined to pay me for the cancelled hotel room stating that an event cancellation is not covered. What an absolute shocking state of affairs from both companies. So please be careful. Suggest you use other companies.
My wife and I made reservations through Booking.com for a Courtyard Marriot stay for 2 nights (charge $890.00) for our son's family, and another room for my wife for 1 night (charge $446.72). More than 24 hours in advance my wife became ill and called the hotel to cancel her room. The hotel said they couldn't guarantee there would not be a charge for cancellation as it was up to Booking.com. When she called, Booking.com said it was up to the hotel's policy. Having worked in the lodging industry I knew the hotel will likely resell the canceled room.
The second issue was that the hotel said our son had to pay for the room with his own card on arrival because they could not swipe our card, since we would not be there.
Two days later my son paid for his room ($890.00), and that same amount had already been charged to our credit card. In addition, the full room charge of $446.72 was also on our credit card for my wife's room.
When we called, the hotel said that Booking.com takes about $50.00 for the booking, and their policy was to refuse to cancel room reservations. So now it appears they were paid twice for one room and once for another room that the hotel may have resold.
Very poor customer service, and incredible greed willing to screw people over. I will never use Booking.com again.
This was supposed to be a 3 day trip for my son and I to catch some Spring Training games.
I book thru Booking.com for flight, hotel and car from Sunday March 12th to Wednesday March 15th.
Our flight on Sunday was cancelled because the plane we were supposed to fly on was coming from Atlanta, which experienced bad weather and all planes were grounded.
The flight was rescheduled for Monday, March 13th at 7:35 PM. I still wanted to spend 3 days in Florida so I decide that we will now go for Monday to Thursday
The hotel I reserved refused to credit me with my Sunday night stay, and they couldn't give me a room for Wednesday night. So I then had to book a different hotel for Wednesday night - which Bookings wasn't very helpful with so I did on my own.
When I called Bookings.com to cancel the car reservation for Sunday, they cancelled the entire reservation.
After I realized this, I called them back to get another car reservation only to have the agent transfer me to Kayayk - who told me they don't rent cars out of Tampa. So I went online to book one for my own.
In all, Bookings.com didn't help with getting my money back from the hotel, nor getting me an additional room, or help book an additional car. I did this all on my own.
I will never use their service again. Do yourself a favour and use someone else.
The charged me for.a room at a Vdara and sent me an email confirmation only to be told once at the hotel that booking.com cancelled my room without my knowledge. Worst customer service in the world. Still no refund for a room they cancelled on me. This company is a SCAM! Please do not go there.
They will overbook! They will mess up your vacation! Hotel was overbooked! We had to use Airbnb to get a place to stay at double the price.
Back in dec I booked a reservation at the red roof inn in Williamsburg. I had to cancel reservations
The day before because I was sick. And their policy was if I cancelled or didn't show up I would be charged $58.77. I got charged the full amount. I have been dealing with this for the past 3 months. Booking.com keeps telling me that they sent the property an email requesting them to refund the difference and everytime I called the property they tell me they responded. Now today they are telling me that I didn't cancel that I had sent the property to waive the fee which I did not. I had cancelled. So now they are telling me that the can't refund me the money. They are giving me the run around and lying and saying I didn't cancel when I clearly did. I am never using booking.com ever again.
Answer: In my case they took my payment information and paid the hotel where I was going to be staying. Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.
Answer: Don't waste time with booking.com. They have horrible customer service and will make every attempt to cheat you. Simply report the problem to your credit card company to get your refund.
Answer: Run. Run away. This company and the company used to insure their bookings are scams.
Answer: I don't know why you're even using this site Stephanie. Their after sales is disgusting! Recommend travel Republic. Great prices and options
Answer: You pay a non refundable price on line. When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.
Answer: It depends on the hotel some don't charge until you arrive at hotel more will charge your card straight away check your booking it should tell you there
Answer: Trevago is hooked into Booking.com don't make a mistake and let trevago send you to booking.com go to Hotel.com which is more professional. I had to go to American Express customer serviced to complain and they gave a dead line for explanation. They had no explanation for crappy service and had to repay me.
Answer: NOT BOOKING.CON
Answer: You will need to pay taxes in addition to the quoted price. Call the motel and they will tell you about the taxes. A few places still don't charge exttra taxes e.g. Harris Ranch in California.
Answer: You can't. That's the whole idea. You provide a service, and your customers get to give their review of your place and your services.
