The overall reputation of the company reflects significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to inadequate customer service and a lack of accountability. Many reviews highlight issues such as harsh refund policies, unresponsive support, and problems with fraudulent listings, leading to frustrations over lost funds and unresolved complaints. While some customers appreciate the variety of accommodations offered, the overwhelming sentiment indicates a lack of trust in the company's commitment to customer satisfaction. To improve its reputation, the company must enhance its customer service responsiveness and take greater responsibility for the listings it promotes.

Booked a hotel for a sports tournament. The tournament ended up getting cancelled. I called five days before the check in date and they would not cancel the reservation. The terms said they could cancel your reservation up to 48 hours before the check in date. They are a scam. Wish I could give zero stars!
Very simply put they allow their partner hotels to rig their reviews. Made a booking at a hotel with an almost 9.0 review total. What a joke the place was not even a one. They hide negative reviews to where it is almost impossible to locate them. Bad business all around. I will stick to hotels.com or make my bookings directly.
I have always been a booking.com client until this time where i decided to never ever use it because of their very bad customer service, i requested a simple receipt of one of my stays and they kept asking me to call them and never sent me the document until now, where as it took a couple of minutes from others like hotel.com to provide me with this kind of documents
It was a great frustration that made me angry and regretting all the money i spent on them
They only refund $5.00 of $200.00 of a reservation. Very bad customer service. DO NOT USE THEM. When called they try to blame the Hotel, Hotel says its them because they get paid from them.
My 2 sisters and I spent a week at this hotel in February, 2023. I was horrified to discover on my 3rd day there that 3 pieces of my jewellery and an unopened bottle of perfume were stolen from my room. The Manager, Mr. David Bynau, failed to meet with us when requested. The Deputy Manager and Reception Staff were equally as unhelpful and lied and misled us, especially in their account of how many staff had access to my room, and their assurance to us that we would be compensated through the Hotel's Insurance. We informed the Police and Tourist Office of this theft and they were quiet shocked at our treatment by the Hotel; they actually phoned the Hotel in our presence. Since my return to Ireland, the Hotel have reneged on their promise of compensation and I only received a 3 lined email from their Insurance Company (in French) informing me that compensation would not be forthcoming. As far as Marseille itself, I cannot praise highly enough all the other people we met and establishments we visited and I absolutely loved it there but would highly dissuade anyone from staying at the Marseille Vieux Port Grand Hotel Beauvau.
My booking was forwarded to lastminute.com because I checked the option " book flight and hotel" Despite my client status at Booking.com I cannot reach them to cancel this while I got a bad feeling immediately.
It became truth: lastminute.com starts to change the flight schedule and simply promise you that they would make a new proposal - no way, they postpone and delay until they say " it is too late" I have checked and the flights we initially have were still available. Finally we need 8 hours more (double) and an extra flight.
Booking was not reachable even not for sharing this review so I need to do it by public channels.
I wish everybody a carefree and safe and above all a pleasant journey
I would give them 0 stars if possible.
They made a mess with my booking and ruined my holiday.
I wish I have never used them
Booking.com has mastered the art of sleazy and disreputable practices of false advertising low rates and stealing your money. DO NOT book with this site EVER! Truly a horrible group to work with.
Several times I prepaid thru booking.com then bill again by the hotel. They give no help in resolving. I'm done with booking.com
I recently used booking.com because they advertised their prices would beat anything out there. Well I don't think it was much cheaper than going directly through the hotel but I will say this.
I had something come up a few days before my stay and I tried for yeti days to get my reservation changed. I was given the runaround both days and still didn't get it changed. If I could get a refund I would but because I used a third party to make my reservation I'm not eligible for a refund. I WILL NEVER USE A THIRD PARTY AGAIN.
Tried to transfer and rebook flight (had doctors note because ill) they wanted extra $1,000 to switch tickets and could only offer a 42 hour flight when the 16 hour flight we had originally booked was available on booking.com. The tickets on booking.com were less expensive than what we originally paid but their "rebooking fee" was $1,000 on top of our original fee. They couldn't book the 16 hour flight because customer service at booking.com couldn't access booking.com's flight because they were a rebooking service. "Customer service" claimed there was no manager to help us. I feel like they just stole a bunch of my money. Do not use them for any reason!
This company is a scam. I booked a hotel stay through booking.com, which booking.com cancelled without my consent or knowledge of them doing so. They have refused to refund my money and are unable to rebook my hotel room.
Me and my Husband had a trip planned 2 months in advance, they took the money out and then cancelled our trip the day b4 we were supposed to leave, we called and re booked our trip and had to repay, and they told us we would have a refund from the cancellation within 7 to 12 business days, and now they refused to refund our money.
DO NOT USE BOOKING. COM!
Call the hotel directly to make your reservation and if the hotel has to use a 3rd party don't use booking!
I have been using Booking.com for about 3 years and i always used it for hotel and i never had any problems, until i decided to use the car rental side, i made a reservation for my sister and of course i paid upfront with my credit card, so my sister went to pick up the car and she could not get it because she didn't realize her license was expired, so i figured i should be able to get some of my money back, all of it would be nice but i figured for their trouble they'll charge me a fee and i'll some of it back. First of all when trying to contact them it was all recordings, could not get a live person i emailed them within seconds i got a respond back saying i'm sorry for your inconvenience but we can't help you after hours on the phone finally i was able to talk to somebody just for them to hang up on me, i called back again after explaining my situation i was told sorry we can't help you. So i am deleting the APP and i'm never ever using Booking.Com for anything again
Avoid this company at all cost. They screwed me out of $186.00. I made a reservation with them and immediately attempted to cancel it. They would not send me a confirmation number so I could make the cancellation. I contacted them no less than 10 times asking for a confirmation number. Still no reply. The reservation came and went and was unused. Their "customer service" makes it impossible to talk to a live person. Save yourself some time and aggravation. Avoid Booking.com
This outfit is horrible...they lie! I had to shorten my stay by 1 day and notifed them 5 days in advance. I got a message I would hear something in 48 hours. I never heard anything and never got a refund on the day I did not stay. I will never use them again...they are awful.
I tried to book a flight via booking.com. They have taken 3600 pound from my bank account and then they emailed me after 3 hours saying that your booking has been cancelled. You get your money back in 2-4 working days. I did not have enough money to book my flight from different company. I had to wait for 4 days to get my money back. By that time the flight price has gone up and I paid 4800 pound. Very rude costumer service, I would not recommend it
I purchased a ticket for my sister to go to Iceland and got insurance. She couldn't go and they won't give me my money back.
What a joke of a company. I am a client of theirs and they keep double booking rooms at my venue, blaming me and then charging me for relocating the guests, who by the way all booked through booking.com. I ring up to make a complaint after the 11th time this has happened only to be told the only way to complain is to email.? Shocking customer service. Am I also not a customer of Booking.com?? you wouldnt think so. All I ever get when I ring up is we cant do this because of our procedure. Is anybody else having issues with this company?
I am writing this review after several very negative experiences with this platform, where customer care agents are trained to find ways to avoid responsibility and basically leave the customers alone in the dark when things go south due to no fault of their own.
Answer: In my case they took my payment information and paid the hotel where I was going to be staying. Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.
Answer: Don't waste time with booking.com. They have horrible customer service and will make every attempt to cheat you. Simply report the problem to your credit card company to get your refund.
Answer: Run. Run away. This company and the company used to insure their bookings are scams.
Answer: I don't know why you're even using this site Stephanie. Their after sales is disgusting! Recommend travel Republic. Great prices and options
Answer: You pay a non refundable price on line. When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.
Answer: It depends on the hotel some don't charge until you arrive at hotel more will charge your card straight away check your booking it should tell you there
Answer: Trevago is hooked into Booking.com don't make a mistake and let trevago send you to booking.com go to Hotel.com which is more professional. I had to go to American Express customer serviced to complain and they gave a dead line for explanation. They had no explanation for crappy service and had to repay me.
Answer: NOT BOOKING.CON
Answer: You will need to pay taxes in addition to the quoted price. Call the motel and they will tell you about the taxes. A few places still don't charge exttra taxes e.g. Harris Ranch in California.
Answer: You can't. That's the whole idea. You provide a service, and your customers get to give their review of your place and your services.
