The overall reputation of the company reflects significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to inadequate customer service and a lack of accountability. Many reviews highlight issues such as harsh refund policies, unresponsive support, and problems with fraudulent listings, leading to frustrations over lost funds and unresolved complaints. While some customers appreciate the variety of accommodations offered, the overwhelming sentiment indicates a lack of trust in the company's commitment to customer satisfaction. To improve its reputation, the company must enhance its customer service responsiveness and take greater responsibility for the listings it promotes.

The worst stay of our lives and we travel A LOT! Booked a property through booking.con, because we have several times in the past. The property was described as newly renovated beautiful beach property. We arrived to a hurricane devastated resort with no working anything. Two pools outside were filled with mud, sand tile and other various debri. The entire
Pool area was taped off with caution tape. No hot tub no inside pool nothing absolutely nothing was in working condition including the beach access because the steps were taped off with the pool. Zero reason to stay at this crappy place and the hurricane was 7 months prior to our stay.
I booked a hotel on June 12,2023. For a spot in Kissimmee Florida they had a Puerto Rico number for a contact on the confirmation email. If it was booked for Kissimmee it would've had a 407 area code which it didn't and they could not find no reservation with my name or the reservation number I had to contact booking and let them know that someone was on Hacked their system. I had to end up calling my bank get a new debit card and to get my money back.
I am surprised they are listed on nasdaq, they give your credit card details along with cvv code to the hotels, who can access your card any time, my case money was withdrawn 4 times by the hotelier, you have to eventually block your card. Unethical business practice. I saw this. Live in turkey. Hotelier can use your card as piggy bank. This company must be struck of on nasdaq. Dangerous data leaked out, they never reply! 0 star
Found the same room, same dates for $120 cheaper. Sent proof. They would not adjust the price. Asked to speak to a manager, said they're busy. They suck! Will NEVER use them ever again. We've had great service with Hotels.com.
Made a reservation, hotel had issues and promised to refund us, but booking refuses to follow up with the hotel to get the money back from them. Three months later, I file a complaint with BBB just to find out they are listed as no longer in business and BBB isn't able to help. They claim the hotel will release the refund but nothing ever happens. I will never use this service again. I find these people are dishonest to customers when things go wrong. Its not bookings fault the hotel had roaches, but when they say they'll refund someone, good luck actually getting it.
Booking.com has hostels in it's system that aren't actually registered with them. We arrived at the hostel and they had no knowledge of the booking. The app confirmed our booking and even tried taking payment from us.
When I tried contacting support they promise they call back and fix it but never do, then every time you call you'll get a different agent. No help at all, even the complaints team doesn't contact you back.
Expect no help and only a loss when you use booking.com
If I could give them a 0 start I would. Their customer service is beyond words unhelpful. I had a fraudulent charge on my credit card for a hotel I booked through booking.com. I have provided them proof of charge through my bank statement and have spent 4-5 phone calls with them trying to resolve this issue, and they still have not provided me a refund. They asked me to contact the bank for a ridiculous request that the bank cannot do. So now I am stuck, I have wasted countless hours on the phone with them and the bank to resolve this issue and they still have not refunded me. I would NEVER book a hotel through them again.
I have a very bad experiences in here so I just want to inform everyone before using this website. I booked a hotel for like 190 dollars and did not realize this company will get 40~50 dollars just through this platform. I found this is completely a joke and how the hotel resources are controlled by these platforms. Then when I requested a cancelation, they said I have to pay 100 dollars fees that is completely insane because this is nearly half of the hotel price. I called the hotel and they said that they did not even have the policy. Folks, just do no use this platform and use the traditional way like calling to the hotel to book your trip. It is just worth the experience.
I just had a terrible experience in using booking. Com. They tell you free cancellation when you book through them but 2 days later they will charge you the full amount before you even set foot at the hotel. In my case, when I arrived at the hotel or resort it looked nothing like the pictures shown in the booking.com site and did not look safe to me or my family. When I attempted several time to have booking.com handle my cancellation their answer to me was to deal with the hotel and only if the hotel can confirm your cancellation. We will reimburse you. Meanwhile, The hotel front desk assured me they will not charge me but to make sure booking.com send us an email request. When reaching out to booking.com asking them to send the request they said they will do so. At this time, my family and I are tired so I booked directly a nice resort with good discounted price and had an amazing stay. This will be the last time I ever use Booking.com services. They add zero value. As you probably know they are based in Netherland and they will only communicate to hotels via emails since it cost them nothing. If you encounter an issue with your reservation, they will not help you. I will never use a third party booking
Booking.com advised us that our accommodation would be cancelled at no cost. They put this in writing to us twice. The property still charged us (they charged us more than the scheduled fee). We booked other accommodation. When we complained Booking.com then changed their mind and allowed the charge to stand. Booking.com has no integrity and aid and abet unscrupulous property owners in the theft money from customers.
There should be a negative rating! The flight was cancelled in Feb and booking.com never notified us. They proceed to blame everyone but themselves!
They are horrific. You will pay for a reservation in full and they will use a "virtual card" that doesn't actually go to the hotel. I got charged twice and had to spend days and jump through hoops to figure it out. The customer service reps are all robots reading from scripts and don't actually help you. I have used it for years and today is my last day. I will never use this organization ever again and neither will anyone I know. Save yourself the money, time and headache and book your stays elsewhere. They are all about their money and will do everything to keep your money.
I accidentally booked something for the next day, less than 24 hours before and they refuse to change the date. AND they purposely hung up on me
I am utterly disgusted with my recent experience using Booking.com. This so-called "reputable" platform has proven to be nothing more than a scamming operation, and I am here to warn others about the horrendous ordeal I have gone through. Not only did I lose a substantial amount of money—994 CHF to be exact—but I also endured endless frustration and distress.
I paid 606.00 USD for 5 night stay in St. Louis using Booking.com as the travel agent when I check into my rental it was nothing like the pictures posted on booking.com The apartment had a broken arm on the sofa, a floor lamp that had to be plug in to the wall and unplugged to make the light work the switch on the lamp was broken. The bathroom light doesn't work they have a small lamp sitting on the floor which is hazardous if knocked over after getting out of the shower you would electrocuted. The ceiling fan doesn't work in the bedroom and has black mold covering the fan a hazard to an individuals health. The bedroom closet doors are off the racks. The front door knob is sitting on a table so it's impossible to pull the door to and lock it. I've made 5 calls to Booking Customer Service who makes promises but no results.
Be aware of booking.com, it's a big scam with apartments using the website to offer services, then cancel them a week before your arrival leaving you in limbo. The other sad part that booking.com has no alternative system to offer or a new reservation to cover your back. This is a very cheap company with customer services reps that act as managers, dispute department, and other so they can just kill your case in one phone conversation so they can save money.
As a loyal customer, I had just been cheated in reservation price differences of about- $1200.00- that the company rudely told me to cover. I used booking.com for over four years, but it wasn't nearly a good experience and I just wanted to share this experience with you all so you can be careful.
Feel free to ask me if you need more information.
Thank you
I booked a week at Sancastle resort months before my planed trip to the US for my 60th birthday.
A death in the family forced the cancellation of this celebration. Sandcastle resort gave us a verbal assurance that in the circumstances we could get a refund of the 50% I had paid except for a $25 cancellation fee. Booking.com said that if Sandcaslte resort said that, then would be fine, BUT NO; then we got emails from both organisations refusing to refund. They each blamed each other for the refusal. I'm now down $2400 Australian for reasons over which I had no control. This might not be illegal, just heartless and inhuman. Beware Booking.com and don't agree to large deposits.
Just returned home from a couple of days stay in Bridlington at Albion Cottages
This place is Amazing close to all amenities quiet clean tidy you have everything in your cottage that you need and more my wife and I absolutely love it here we wouldn't stay anywhere else parking is great outside your room and Louise the owner is awesome really lovely can't do enough for you hopefully be back soon Thank You Louise x Tony &Louise x
A cheating organization."We want to refund, but don't know who to send it to." Poo! You have my cc number, I've sent bank info. Still a year later I'm out over $300! Inept, stupid? No grifters. BBN of Miami gives booking anF
I had to cancel my reservation due to hazardous weather conditions and even though the property cancelled my reservation on their end. Booking.com is taking forever to cancel it in their end. They even refuse to communicate with properties or hotels themselves to manage cancellations and ask you to do it instead. What's the point of using a booking platform in this case?
Answer: In my case they took my payment information and paid the hotel where I was going to be staying. Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.
Answer: Don't waste time with booking.com. They have horrible customer service and will make every attempt to cheat you. Simply report the problem to your credit card company to get your refund.
Answer: Run. Run away. This company and the company used to insure their bookings are scams.
Answer: I don't know why you're even using this site Stephanie. Their after sales is disgusting! Recommend travel Republic. Great prices and options
Answer: You pay a non refundable price on line. When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.
Answer: It depends on the hotel some don't charge until you arrive at hotel more will charge your card straight away check your booking it should tell you there
Answer: Trevago is hooked into Booking.com don't make a mistake and let trevago send you to booking.com go to Hotel.com which is more professional. I had to go to American Express customer serviced to complain and they gave a dead line for explanation. They had no explanation for crappy service and had to repay me.
Answer: NOT BOOKING.CON
Answer: You will need to pay taxes in addition to the quoted price. Call the motel and they will tell you about the taxes. A few places still don't charge exttra taxes e.g. Harris Ranch in California.
Answer: You can't. That's the whole idea. You provide a service, and your customers get to give their review of your place and your services.
