The overall reputation of the company reflects significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to inadequate customer service and a lack of accountability. Many reviews highlight issues such as harsh refund policies, unresponsive support, and problems with fraudulent listings, leading to frustrations over lost funds and unresolved complaints. While some customers appreciate the variety of accommodations offered, the overwhelming sentiment indicates a lack of trust in the company's commitment to customer satisfaction. To improve its reputation, the company must enhance its customer service responsiveness and take greater responsibility for the listings it promotes.

I booked a hotel with booking.com. I have multiple confirmation messages from them and it shows the confirmation in their app. I arrived at the hotel which unfortunately didn't have my reservation - and they were fully booked. They felt terrible. The confirmation number from booking dot con is theirs not the hotels - which they don't provide. The hotel couldn't investigate it based the booking.con's conf number. I had to find another hotel and pay a much higher rate. There's also no way to reach booking.con. I suggest booking directly with hotels. Alternatively, Expedia has been reliable in my experience and they are reachable if you need to speak with someone. No great price is worth it if it's not real.
If you need to contact them there is no way to do so. I have tried to figure out how to contact them and I can't.
Can't trust the confirmation. They confirm and say noncancellable, then the property cancels booking. These booking guys just say they will help to provide alternate property. Don't trust them
Booking.com promised me compensation for a fraudulent reservation. After some time, they deleted the conversation and reversed the decision to compensate. Fraudulent conduct. If you have a message from booking com that is important, save it outside their system.
Not only I keep hearing the same story from different customer service representative, the hotel took my money didn't let us stay, and booking.com all is saying is"im sorry we waiting for the hotel to give you your money back"ita been a month, and now the hotel said we damage the property, how?we never got the room,or stayed on the property,we end up sleeping in our car,Booking.com don't have supervisors, won't let you speak to one,or one would call you back, everything runs by customer service representatives
Booking.COM canceled my reservation with no notice or contact of any kind. I learned about it when I showed up at the hotel. I suspect they doubled booked the room bc the remote town is busy and I nearly had to sleep in my car. There was no issues on my end to lead to the cancellation. I ended up having to pay three times the price I would have if I went through any other site or directly to the hotel. Booking.COM customer service did nothing to assist in remedying the situation bc they hadn't yet charged my card. I travel extensively and I have never had a similar situation elsewhere.
I have booked a room with 2 beds coz we were 3 people travelling with a baby. I have got the confirmation for the same room. When I went to the place the hotel was saying they are booked for one bed only. I spent 4 hours there with my infant. But the booking.com customers reps were keep saying they cannot do anything. This is the worst service i have ever recieved.I did not get room there. I had to come back to edmonton from calgary at 9 pm. They spoiled our trip. Moreover I am keep asking them for my refund they are not replying back to me. Its been almost a month. Worst service.Would never suggest to use this.
Dont do it ruining our vacation no customer service reviews are lies of hotels canceled same day now wont refund forn7 to 12 days are u kidding me how can we book another room now for next its bull
Stay away from booking.com for flight bookings. Cancellation and refund is a hassle even if you cancel within 24 hours. They charge baggage fee upfront but will not refund it if you cancel ticket (even if it's in the 24 hours cancellation window).
This app have scammed me 3 times. I have booked reservations multiple times and have always gotten my full refund but hay can't say for this app I wouldn't recommend anyone using this website/app because they will tell you it's free cancellation which means you should get your entire refund…no they will blame the company you booked with and blame them when they have your money the whole entire time and the company will show you they have to it money.Just letting my experience be know I'll book through (hotels.com/anywhere else) before I ever in life book through them again. And as well as say that they will talk to the management team and it's oh we can't do anything for you I'm sorry and now they have your money and will ONLY SEND $2 back.!
My husband and I booked a hotel in January. A few minutes later, we found better accomodations by changing the dates of travel and we CANCELLED the reservation. I received a confirmation via email of the cancellation. I just received a text message from booking.com telling me my reservation for tomorrow is confirmed. I contacted the hotel; they don't have a reservation under my or my husband's names. They said to contact booking.com so I did. I spoke with Ian, who told me the reservation is still active and can't be cancelled at this time.
Do not use Booking.com! We canceled a trip where we had booked a one night stay at a hotel through booking.com. We called the hotel and explained our situation, and they were willing to cancel our reservation and not charge for the stay until they found out we went through booking.com, and so they referred us to them. The hotel was willing to cancel this but booking.com sent us an email saying that the hotel would still be charging us per the hotel. Load of crap! Do not use this to book any kind of reservations!

Dear Sir / Madam
I made a booking online on June 12,2005 confirmation *******839 and was disappointed to find out the property had nothing on their system. For half an hour, really tired and sleepy when all I wanted was to crash on a bed, had to wait for the poor clerk at the desk to figure out what had happened. Finally she had to find a contact number for your office to call. After some wait my call was answered and then transferred to someone to deal with the situation I was in. A contact was then made by your rep with the property clerk and somehow the matter was resolved. I did not understand what happened. The technology was not working, it was my fault to book with your site or some other human error. I was not happy and expected some token of compensation but none was off. Moral of the story is to book directly with the facility and don't rely on third party booking. At least that is what I think I should be preaching based upon my recent experience.

I had booked a hotel for a corporate guest and received a confirmation email. 3 hours after the check-in time, I realize the hotel never confirmed the booking. I had to run a helter-skelter to get another hotel for the corporate guest. To add the nonsense, the booking.com customer care put me on hold for 22 minutes only to inform me that they will reassign a hotel, which never happened. Do not recommend their hotel booking services. It's terrible and don't be surprised if you get stranded outside the hotel with no room to stay!
Had to change my flight - rebooked via Booking.com, paid 135USD to Booking.com for the 'extra' rebooking fess only to be told they could not change the flight AFTER I had paid them - Had to change directly with the airline, which I did on payment of ANOTHER 135UD. Despite many calls to Booking.com to get a refund its still hasn't come through.
They are a scam - DO NOT USE.
Pity '0' stars wasn't an option.
Booking.com allows their guests to keep editing the Rating on their platform, so Customers who book the property and give higher rating and good score, when they want to book again and they call the owner personally, the owner after replying that we do not host personally, please book on booking.com.
The guests goes to change the Rating from 10 star to 1 star.
Its unlike any other safe platform.
Boking.com is very very unsafe
1. April 4 - Booked a family room for April 8 an Ottawa trip for 3 people. The book let me through and success the payment and no reminder upfront to tell me it only fits 2.
2. April 4 - A message from the owner "Please this space sleeps 2" via booking.com was missed. No emails or phone calls ask me to cancel.
3. April 8 - Arrived at the door and a lady opened the door and was surprised I showed up. She said she need to call her husband, and the husband (owner) said it's only fit 2, I found the message and just realize I never saw it. Now he gave 2 options: A. I need to pay $70 extra for a single mat. B. I find a different place to stay and he will refund me. This place is like an Airbnb and I stand at the door to communicate, didn't enter the rooms at all.
4. April 8 - I agreed on option B, because the price is now not much different than staying in the city. And I booked a different hotel right away, and I send him the message via the app: "Hi, we have left your place now. Please go ahead with the refund. Sorry for all the misunderstandings, and hopefully we can stay in your place next time :)"
5. April 14 - Not receiving any refund so I called the owner, he said the money is with booking.com, so I contacted booking customer support. A ticket was submitted, Reservation *******184
6. May 9 - Received email saying they refuse the refund "Unfortunately, they were unable to fulfill your request because of their policies. In the event of a cancellation, they would charge as detailed in the policy you booked."
7. May 9 - I called the owner and there's no answer to the phone.
I called booking.com again and created a second refund request.
8. June 7 - Not hearing back from either booking or the owner. I called booking.com 3rd time, and the lady couldn't help me at all. I don't blame her personally and understand she has limited power over the policy.
9. The property seems off the list, and I have no idea what to do. I have been with booking.com for a long time and book all the time, and this is the first time I had such a bad experience. I am extremely upset with the owner, and booking let the Airbnb-type property be on the list, and no one can solve my issue.
DO NOT purchase flights, or anything for that matter, through booking.com. They are the worst! I purchased 3 tickets through them and something came up around out initial departure dates. Ive called the support center atleast 8 times to try and get the flights changed to a new date amlnd have been given different answers. First they would be able to rebooked, then when I called back no flights were available, then when I called back they said I couldnt update my flight because of the airlines policies and then they told me I wouldnt even get a partial refund if I cancelled, I was more than willing to pay the differencein costs to simply chnage the flight to a new date. They were no help at all. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told no. The representative literally told me that my only solution would be to lose $1700!
There is no information about the ticket and the terms of the flight on the website, your only option is to call. They dont make anything easy at all and this has been the most stressful experience. I will NEVER book through them again. I have learned my lesson the hard way.
If I could give them less than 1 star, I would.
There is literally NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. They rip you off. A money grab! The worst experience I have ever had on any online platform! I would give booking.com no stars if I could!
Answer: In my case they took my payment information and paid the hotel where I was going to be staying. Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.
Answer: Don't waste time with booking.com. They have horrible customer service and will make every attempt to cheat you. Simply report the problem to your credit card company to get your refund.
Answer: Run. Run away. This company and the company used to insure their bookings are scams.
Answer: I don't know why you're even using this site Stephanie. Their after sales is disgusting! Recommend travel Republic. Great prices and options
Answer: You pay a non refundable price on line. When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.
Answer: It depends on the hotel some don't charge until you arrive at hotel more will charge your card straight away check your booking it should tell you there
Answer: Trevago is hooked into Booking.com don't make a mistake and let trevago send you to booking.com go to Hotel.com which is more professional. I had to go to American Express customer serviced to complain and they gave a dead line for explanation. They had no explanation for crappy service and had to repay me.
Answer: NOT BOOKING.CON
Answer: You will need to pay taxes in addition to the quoted price. Call the motel and they will tell you about the taxes. A few places still don't charge exttra taxes e.g. Harris Ranch in California.
Answer: You can't. That's the whole idea. You provide a service, and your customers get to give their review of your place and your services.
