The overall reputation of the company reflects significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to inadequate customer service and a lack of accountability. Many reviews highlight issues such as harsh refund policies, unresponsive support, and problems with fraudulent listings, leading to frustrations over lost funds and unresolved complaints. While some customers appreciate the variety of accommodations offered, the overwhelming sentiment indicates a lack of trust in the company's commitment to customer satisfaction. To improve its reputation, the company must enhance its customer service responsiveness and take greater responsibility for the listings it promotes.

Booked a B&B through bookings.com on 6/7/2023. Bought cancellation policy due to possibility my surgery could be moved up. Surgery was. Bookings.com refused to honor insurance paid for - said it was up to the individual property owner if it would be honored. This is outright fraud. DO NOT BOOK THROUGH THEM.
Booking.com Taxi booking service will not wait if your flight is late, delayed or cancelled.
I recently miss a connecting flight into Paris CDG due to late arriving international flight into Frankfurt. As soon as I realized the situation I directly contacted the driver. He replied that he would no wait and I'd have to book another taxi at additional fare.
Booking.com will not refund my fare.
So, if you ever think the same thing might happen to you, don't pay for this service in advance. Lesson learned!
I had booked a room at a hotel, which I had canceled and asked for a refund as soon as I got to the room due to finding a huge cockroach in the bathroom. The front desk at the hotel apologized and said it was canceled on their end and that I just needed to contact booking.com for my refund since it was booked through a third party. I had talked to an employee named Mary whom told me that I would not be charged for the room, but there was a cancelation fee from the hotel but that they would contact the hotel to wave it. Well that was a lie because there was no fee charged from the hotel, but there as a charge for the room which was $165.32 from booking.com. I have been trying to contact both the hotel and booking.com to find out why I'm being charged for the room and am just getting the run around. I tried disputing it via my paypal which I used to pay and it got denied. Advice for everyone DO NOT book anything from booking.com because they charge you for anything you book and cancel. Such a scam! I will be reporting them to the better business bureau
I had booked our usual yearly family stay with them and decided to look at perhaps extending our stay a day, when I clicked on change dates it asked me to confirm the new dates, I wasn't ready to decide so I hit cancel. It canceled my entire reservation! I have called and messaged both the company and the hotel and booking refuses to reinstate my reservation or refund me.
It takes you round a Kafkaesque hell if you need to modify a booking. The only option is to cancel your holiday and pay the cancellation fee. Nobody ever picks up the phone. Their business practice feels like close to legalised robbery.
Best advice: NEVER USE THEM. Book direct and you will even get a better deal!
I have never utilized this website, and seeing now that they are using and/or partenering with Disney, a know groomer company, wholly owned by the Chinese government, I will NEVER use them. Thank you for providing ads that show your true colors.
While in Portugal, staying at an apartment booked through booking.com, the apartment was broken into and over 4000 euro was stolen. Police called, investigated, determined someone came in through either unlockable patio doors or with a key through main door. Contacted manager of apartment, was accused of faking the theft (?!?! Really?), refused to secure the patio doors unless we stayed in the apartment and waited all day for a repairman. Contacted booking.com, was initially told they would help by getting our $ back for the rental. One day later, got a message stating they were "so sorry, the property has disagreed with our request and please leave a review for the property". Are you kidding me?!? They explained that they are the liaison between the customer & the property, they only recommend actions, but don't implement any guidelines or consequences on any property managers that defraud, misrepresent or otherwise mistreat customers. So, in reality, they are completely useless in helping customers & actually leaving unsuspecting customers open to unscrupulous property owners/managers. The kicker? If you search their 'partner' webpage properties that want to advertise through them use, you will find clear guidelines on how to remove negative customer reviews. So basically, caveat emptor with this company. You are on your own should anything bad happen. I'll never use them again.
Absolutely horrible service. They claim to price match but that policy is a scam! I booked a hotel with booking.com and found exactly the same room and for the same dates on expedia for 50% less! When I contected booking.com customer service and asked to price-match, they refused and asked to deal with the hotel directly. So, this seemingly easy process turned into a long back and forth with booking and hotel. Hotel was accomodating, but because I used booking they had little information and asked to work through booking. Was their customer for a long time and did not realize that they were ripping their customers off. Booking.com sucks! Stay away.
We rented a condo in Panama City Beach for seven nights, June 11 through the 18th, 2023. The condo had a great layout for three families. However, the floors were so nasty that my children had to have their feet washed before they climbed into the sheets. They also left us two trash bags for seven days for nine people. This will be the last time I will ever work with booking.com. They're there for the money as this was in a very expensive place to rent, but will not supply us with basic supplies we rented the C Dreams condo. I highly advise not to rent this place for the filth, including mold, all around the sink, and the lack of support when knitting supplies.
I booked a stay at a resort 6 months in advance and paid in full. I called Booking a week prior to my vacation to shorten my trip by 1 night and in doing that the agent accidentally wrote that I was adding 2 adults to the reservation. The system therefore canceled my booking because I didn't pay for the extra 2 adults 3 days prior to my trip. It took 3 phone calls to figure out what had happened and once I clarified that the request to add 2 adults was an error made by their agent they said there is nothing they could do. They could not re-instate my reservation once it was cancelled. My trip was ruined because of their error and they were not held accountable in any way. This is beyond disappointing.
Arrogant and nonchalant customer service agent, poor problem handling when there's dispute between tenant and property owner.
Just tried too pay for my stay on booking.com an it said that my payment was denied but took 1.500 out of my card an then took an additional 150.00 when i tried too charge my card again, i am beyond heated. Please do not book with them read the reviews first an don't waste your time nor your money.
Booked a short stay at Red Roof Inn,Lancaster PA. Strasburg. The experience was a nightmare and booking.com did nothing!
They refused to refund my money even though the hotel requested they do so. Do not use booking.com. Read all the reviews, it is a rotten company.
Host canceled last minute and booking.com tries to put me in hostel instead of a $200 apartment as I reserved. Booking.com refuses to provide comparable hotel and will screw you over when you need most help. Booking.com values bad hosts over a customer.
I booked a flight for myself, my husband and daughter 4 months in advance to Italy through Booking.com. Starting about a month out, booking.com informed me that a flight had changed and would I accept the change. I responded yes, I followed up by calling, and the customer support on booking.com was just awful. They kept telling me they would update my booking, which they never did, then they kept telling me that there were no more flights available, they would have to cancel my flight, even though when I called the airlines directly they said there were flights and they would give me the information to give to booking.com. I continually called booking.com trying to talk to a supervisor, but just kept getting the same response that they would put my request in and in 24 - 48 hours I would know what the status of my flight was. Until the actual moment I got on the plane I did not know for sure if I had a flight. I will never book a flight through them again. Always go directly through the airlines!
My current experience on Booking.com was extremely disappointing. Not only did several representatives display an astonishing level of rudeness, but the company itself admitted to mistakenly modifying my reservation, resulting in the cancellation of a 5-day hotel stay and a threefold increase in rebooking costs. Despite this acknowledgment, Booking.com completely ignored all of my emails and communication after proposing a solution that required me to pay the full amount upfront for the hotel and provide them with an invoice after check out, leaving no alternative if I couldn't accept their proposal. Their lack of response and disregard for customer concerns have left me deeply frustrated and angry. It is utterly unacceptable for a company to offer no support or alternative solutions while making such demands. I strongly caution others to exercise extreme caution when relying on Booking.com to meet their travel needs. Due to their significant mistake, Booking.com is now subjecting customers to even more inconvenience and potential risks by expecting them to accept their proposed solution.
Do not book anything with them they will rent you the most filthy property with fake photos while they know about it and still charge you arm and legs for it!
I paid $200 in advance for a 3 day stay at Wyndam Hotel in Macon GA. Arrived for check in only for the clerk at the hotel to tell me they had no rooms available. And that I needed to call Booking.com for a refund.
When I called Booking.com and asked them to apply my $200.00 to another booking at another hotel, they told me that I would have to pay again to book another hotel and wait for a refund of my original payment.
So I ended up spending another $300.00 to pay for a hotel. And I'm still waiting for them to refund my money.
Word to the wise. Never pay in advance on line for a hotel or you could wind up paying twice or sleeping in your car like another couple I met who paid in advance for a hotel and had no money to pay again,
I will never use booking.com or any of it's affiliates every again!
They are online predators preying on unsuspecting consumers looking to save money on hotel fares.
Don't let the friendly people over the phone fool you never book from this place absolutely horrible customer service and they lied about every information. DO NOT BOOK THROUGH THIS WEBSITE!
Answer: In my case they took my payment information and paid the hotel where I was going to be staying. Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.
Answer: Don't waste time with booking.com. They have horrible customer service and will make every attempt to cheat you. Simply report the problem to your credit card company to get your refund.
Answer: Run. Run away. This company and the company used to insure their bookings are scams.
Answer: I don't know why you're even using this site Stephanie. Their after sales is disgusting! Recommend travel Republic. Great prices and options
Answer: You pay a non refundable price on line. When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.
Answer: It depends on the hotel some don't charge until you arrive at hotel more will charge your card straight away check your booking it should tell you there
Answer: Trevago is hooked into Booking.com don't make a mistake and let trevago send you to booking.com go to Hotel.com which is more professional. I had to go to American Express customer serviced to complain and they gave a dead line for explanation. They had no explanation for crappy service and had to repay me.
Answer: NOT BOOKING.CON
Answer: You will need to pay taxes in addition to the quoted price. Call the motel and they will tell you about the taxes. A few places still don't charge exttra taxes e.g. Harris Ranch in California.
Answer: You can't. That's the whole idea. You provide a service, and your customers get to give their review of your place and your services.
