The overall reputation of the company reflects significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to inadequate customer service and a lack of accountability. Many reviews highlight issues such as harsh refund policies, unresponsive support, and problems with fraudulent listings, leading to frustrations over lost funds and unresolved complaints. While some customers appreciate the variety of accommodations offered, the overwhelming sentiment indicates a lack of trust in the company's commitment to customer satisfaction. To improve its reputation, the company must enhance its customer service responsiveness and take greater responsibility for the listings it promotes.

Long time booking user. I checked 2 days early from the hotel agreed to refund just waiting for booking to call them. I went through calls. Text. Email. I can't help you with that and most emails just a copies: sorry we apologize just sweet words. Even i have another booking coming up on august ( this one no refundable. Its ok with me) its had to get answers. Emails already prepared the first 2 lines. I lost money for 2 nights
I rented a car with insurance for my husband on Booking.com and when he got to his destination there was no record of his rental. My husband had to rent a car again so we paid for the car twice, and now our credit card is fighting with them to have the original Booking.com charge taken off (because there was no car resulting from that charge). I had printed out the section on what he'd need and he had all his documents in order to rent the car when he got to his destination. This is the first time we used Booking.com and it will be the last. BUYER BEWARE. There are plenty of other sites to purchase trips on. STAY AWAY from Booking.com.
Title: Extremely Disappointing Experience at North Shore Resort, Myrtle Beach
I recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at North Shore Resort in Myrtle Beach, and I must say it was incredibly disappointing. First and foremost, the AC machine in the rooms was outrageously loud, making it nearly impossible to get any sleep or relaxation. The noise was incessant and highly disruptive throughout my entire stay.
Adding to the frustration, there was absolutely no housekeeping available during my time at the resort. The lack of cleanliness and fresh linens made the stay even more uncomfortable and inconvenient. It was incredibly disheartening to find such a disregard for basic hygiene and guest comfort.
Furthermore, the pictures displayed on the website were incredibly deceiving. The reality did not match the expectations set by the promotional images. The overall condition of the rooms and facilities fell far short of what was depicted, leaving me feeling misled and cheated.
To make matters worse, I was horrified to discover that the pool had feces in it. This complete lack of maintenance and cleanliness is not only appalling but also poses a serious health risk. It is unfathomable that such a hazardous and unsanitary situation would be allowed to persist.
Overall, my experience at North Shore Resort was a nightmare. The noisy AC, lack of housekeeping, deceptive pictures, and unsanitary pool made my stay unbearable. I couldn't sleep for two days, and the overall condition of the resort was far below acceptable standards. I strongly advise against anyone considering this resort for their stay in Myrtle Beach.
I've booked stays in the past trough booking and it was ok so I received a message from them to list my property. I've started to list my condo on my booking.com account, it was complicated and time consuming so I didn't finish. I received an email saying that I will receive a letter from them to accept and activate my listing. No letter, I'm busy with my job and few days later I get an email that 2 people booked my beautiful condo for the weekend. I asked trough email to get help finishing my listing because I'm confused and I can't log in. No help, no phone number to call. The lady payed only 280$ for 2, no tax or cleaning fees and I called her to say that I didn't finish setting fees and she tells me she'll bring 2 more adults and she doesn't want to pay because wasn't listed. I call a number I found on google for booking, and they told me that I have to talk to their partner, transfer me to Malaysia, couldn't understand much. They let me wait and never help me and I get an email that I owe then 480$. Total scam, never received a penny and didn't have a back connected to listing. I'm going to report them. I've been traumatized by this experience and emails from them that I can't even respond to.
We reserved a condo on Marco Island for a week from Red Awning via booking.com. We paid the full price non-refundable. Nine days later Red Awning cancelled the reservation without reason. We were told it would take 7-12 days to get our money back. We are still waiting...
They literally DONT care about any property owners who are trying to make an honest buck.
There is 0 care nor respect from their side towards us in general.
When you have an issue ( which is everyday) they can take up to 10 days before they an get back to you and literally ring not even once and hung-up then send you the copy paste message saying we did call but you didn't answer! $#*!ing jokesters LoL
You can be a massmurderer and still be able to book anything you want, they refuse to cancel any reservations even tho some people are known criminals! This has happened to me directly few times and because of this our business was down for few days.
I hope all the people work there especially the eco etc owners share holders burns in hell and along with their website.
Someone should put an end to this $#*! website and they should be locked up.
I made a reservation through booking.com and when we arrived at hotel it was a filthy dump. We checked out after one night and the hotel refunded booking.com. However, booking.com refuses to refund me the money. Stay away from booking.com unless you want to be conned into a dump that they say is great and then have them steal your money.
Booking.com cancelation policy states within 7 days of check in free refund. Nope! I canceled 8 days in advance and didn't get my money back! I'll never book anything through them again.
Double booked due to their website crashing and was told I can't get a refund for the 2nd booking. Better of booking with other sites.
I have had 2 separate negative experiences with Booking.com and will never use this service again. No matter how good of a deal you might think you get stay far away. Customer service is condescending and will not work on your behalf at all. Promises for price matching are made and not upheld. They make it so difficult that you have no chance even though you provide them with the requested documentation. In today's world there are so many choices to book your vacation or business trip don't choose booking.com. I will never again make this mistake.
I cancelled my flight and was promised a certain amount--a partial refund that was the full price of the ticket minus the cost of an extra checked bag. The website was specific about the amount. When I called, the customer service associate insisted I was not entitled to any refund. When I read him the cancellation policy he then agreed--after a long wait on hold--to refund me the money. However, I did not receive the amount promised. When I called again, I got an agent who basically said a lot of words with no relevance to the issue at hand and no explanation as to why I did not receive the full amount. To make matters worse, both times, I immediately received an email asking for feedback--a survey--and both times, I could not complete it because it said it had expired. I literally clicked on it the moment I received the email. Boooking.com is a scam. Do not use them!
I mistakenly reserved a 3-day hotel from the booking.com and realized at the last minutes. I am really frustrated. The people from the booking.com custom services are very professional. When they comfort me, they helped me to contact the hotel and successfully modified my booking.
No customer service once booking is made. Esp. If changes need to be made to your bookings!
Go directly to your desired hotel and book direct and cut out the middle scammer being Booking.com
BEWARE. SO IS PRICELINE OR BOOKING.COM. THEY WON'T HELP YOU IN ANY WAY TO GET YOUR MONEY BACK EITHER. ALL OF THESE MIDDLEMEN COMPANIES THAT YOU NOW HAVE TO BOOK HOTELS THROUGH ARE NOTHING BUT SCAM ARTIST PIECES OF CRAP LOCATED IN SOME OTHER COUNTRY. DON'T USE ANY OF THEM. DANGER. BEWARE.
In May I made two separate reservations through Booking.com for a hotel in Barcelona, intending to pay upon arrival at the hotel, as indicated by the payment options presented during the booking process. However, upon my arrival at the hotel, I was informed that there were no reservations under my name. Arrived a foreign county in the middle of night and I was informed my hotel reservation was cancelled!
To resolve the issue, I immediately contacted customer service at Booking.com and I was informed that my reservations had been canceled (without telling me) because I had not paid at the time of booking. That was in direct contradiction to the options presented on their website, which clearly indicated the possibility of paying upon arrival.
To my dismay, I was also informed that a cancellation fee of $310 had been charged to my credit card. I was utterly shocked by this unjustifiable charge.
Subsequently, I reached out to the hotel directly to clarify the situation, and they confirmed that they had indeed waived the cancellation fee for both of my reservations. This acknowledgment by the hotel only serves to highlight the incompetence and miscommunication on the part of Booking.com, as I should never have been charged in the first place.
Despite numerous attempts to rectify the situation and seek a refund, Booking.com has persistently refused to take responsibility for the mishandling of my reservations and the subsequent unauthorized charge of $310. This lack of accountability and refusal to refund my money is wholly unacceptable.
In conclusion: DO NOT USE Booking.com!
They change your reservation details, we arrive and our reservation does not exist, I book a car at Fiumicino ROME airport and while I was on the plane they change it for Ciampino airport, and I was not able to arrive before the office closes, I was on the phone for two hours with their assistance service, result? ABSOLUTE ZERO! ZERO MONEY BACK!
My flight from Philippines to Singapore last January 2023 was cancelled due to technical issues with the International Airport. I initiated a refund from the Airline (Scoot) which they refund the money immediately. Now I have requested a refund from booking.com since I purchase the ticket from their website. Very frustrating that after 3 months, they still have not refunded the money to me. I have been following up for 2 months but still I am getting the same update since day one. Very bad experience with booking.com. I am not going to book my flights with them anymore and will share this with all my friends and families.

Booking is a horrble company. They have phone support but it a computer repeating ( Please enter your booking number) Over and over again even after you enter the number. Then I found another booking.com website that said the they have 24/7 customer support by phone. But they dont list the phone number on that page or on any linked pages. Dishonest company I assume from a dishonest cuture and country. If I was yoou I would skip The Netherlands.
They must think there customer are stupid.
The booking was confirmed, Booking.com charged my account the entire rental charge. When we went to the check out desk of MEXC in Cancun they would not honor the reservation or payment or the insurance. They tried to charge us more than double the reservation amount. We walked away and then they said they could rent at the reservation rate but it was a new transaction in addition to the amount withdrawn by Booking.com.
My phone did not work so I didn't contact booking.com until my return and then they said it was to late for a refund. They would only offer to refund the insurance.
I will pursue this further as it is a case of fraud and a complete scam.
Booking.com messed up our Family flight booking. 4 tickets with 4 seats = 2 adults, 2 toddlers. They only booked 3 seats and informed us that we can put 1 kid on our lap instead. They also recommended that to have a relative come with us and take care of the kids. Wtf! I asked to modify the tickets to the correct seats and they said the airline is not allowing it. When I called the airline they said they can, they just have to call! I offered to pay it directly through the airline but they said, they need an adult ticket associated with the purchase, which is already under booking.com; when I asked booking.com about a refund and they said it's non-refundable and when I asked the airline it is, but unfortunately, we went through a travel agency that messed it up. Will never use this company ever again. It's a 15 hour flight with a lap kid, like WTH!
Answer: In my case they took my payment information and paid the hotel where I was going to be staying. Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.
Answer: Don't waste time with booking.com. They have horrible customer service and will make every attempt to cheat you. Simply report the problem to your credit card company to get your refund.
Answer: Run. Run away. This company and the company used to insure their bookings are scams.
Answer: I don't know why you're even using this site Stephanie. Their after sales is disgusting! Recommend travel Republic. Great prices and options
Answer: You pay a non refundable price on line. When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.
Answer: It depends on the hotel some don't charge until you arrive at hotel more will charge your card straight away check your booking it should tell you there
Answer: Trevago is hooked into Booking.com don't make a mistake and let trevago send you to booking.com go to Hotel.com which is more professional. I had to go to American Express customer serviced to complain and they gave a dead line for explanation. They had no explanation for crappy service and had to repay me.
Answer: NOT BOOKING.CON
Answer: You will need to pay taxes in addition to the quoted price. Call the motel and they will tell you about the taxes. A few places still don't charge exttra taxes e.g. Harris Ranch in California.
Answer: You can't. That's the whole idea. You provide a service, and your customers get to give their review of your place and your services.
