The overall reputation of the company reflects significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to inadequate customer service and a lack of accountability. Many reviews highlight issues such as harsh refund policies, unresponsive support, and problems with fraudulent listings, leading to frustrations over lost funds and unresolved complaints. While some customers appreciate the variety of accommodations offered, the overwhelming sentiment indicates a lack of trust in the company's commitment to customer satisfaction. To improve its reputation, the company must enhance its customer service responsiveness and take greater responsibility for the listings it promotes.

I had an issue with a hotel reservation. I spoke to a few agents who could not help me. Then I got so lucky and I got on the phone with Racheal A. Who was the most amazing, caring, real person I have ever dealt with ever in customer service. She understood my issue, and helped me with it and made me so happy! It was as if I was talking to a friend who knew me and wanted to help. If it wasn't were her I would be writing a very different review. Booking.com should be proud to have her!

I booked a house to rent from July 4th to July 7th 2023 I payed the $800 security deposit but discovered a total of 4 payments at aprox $800 each, were taken out. I messaged the renters and sent screen shot of bank statements. I recieved no response. And as of this morning the entire conversation is erased. My bank this morning confirmed I was scammed. I have had to cancel my bank card. Have no access to money until new one arrives. In addition to multiple security deposits, I had to cancel holiday on way up due to family emergency. So I lost $1149 for house(no refund given) plus 3,200 in security deposit taken. A total of $4,349 lost for a vacation I never got. I also tried to contact booking.com. I can not. There is no record of my booking so no way to contact administration. Everything has been erased
We booked a stay at a hotel as a part of our 6 year old's birthday present. Looking at reviews and pictures of the property again after, I believe all of the pictures were photoshopped and stock photos from corporate, as nothing was the same as pictured, apart from the surrounding buildings in the background. We were moved from our first room because it smelled like someone had JUST smoked marijuana in it. Our second room was unsafe, as the peep hole to the adjacent parking lot was scratched to the point of being unusable. The inside was even worse, with mold, dry wall dust, poor patch jobs, debris, food crumbs, and blood-stained bedding. We quickly asked the hotel owner for a refund and found a new hotel. By the time we arrived at the new hotel, the owner had marked us as "No Shows," granting us a whopping $6 refund. First thing the next morning, we reached out to Booking. They tried to get in touch with the property but were unsuccessful. It has been MONTHS now of getting a refund granted via OYO corporate, contacting Booking.com, forwarding communication to Booking, etc., and we STILL have not been granted a refund. Furthermore, they have not responded to a single email that I have sent to our "reservation" account, as instructed (as they do not have a customer service email listed), and I cannot get a single straight answer from anybody. I get bounced around to a new rep everytime I call, and because my reservation is not currently active, I can't even reach out through the bot service in the app, to have a paper trail documented. This is a horrible, fraudulent company, that makes it IMPOSSIBLE for you to truly contact them and have an issue resolved. I advise you to steer VERY clear of using them!
Back in June I tried to make reservations through this site they took all my info including $ 283.08
Never made my reservation but kept my money now they refuse to give me a refund
I used rewards to pay an attraction and canceled later in valid window period. Before I cancel it, I checked their website policy and saying the rewords can be fully refunded. But they didn't. I called customer service several times and they all promised to refund, however 2 months later, they still not refund. What a business company doing this!
Horrible experience. Wanted to cancel they were going to charge me $2,000 to cancel. Said it was the property charging the fee. Called the property, they said it was booking.com charging the fee. The property never received any emails that booking claimed to have sent to cancel without fees. I told booking to call the property they insisted to keep calling a number different than the one I was calling. The number I wS calling got right through to the property, the number they kept calling had no answer. They refused to call the number I had for the property. Finally they made one further attempt and did call the number I was calling because at this point I wS irate. None of this will go through when you're not calling the correct number in the first place. They didn't want my reservation cancelled free of charge. But tried to make it out to be the property. The property called me and said the booking.com agent got through to them finally and was being nasty and uncooperative but they will make sure my reservation is cancelled free of charge. Then booking.com proceeded to tell me that they were fighting for me to get my reservation cancelled free of charge. Twisting this whole thing around on the property. If it weren't for my contacting the property I would've gotten no where with booking.com. They were nasty to the property manager, not wanting to cancel my booking because they were going to lose my money. But they twisted the whole thing around making the property look like the bad guy. It was so wrong. Shady, and manipulative. I would give booking.com a zero. I'm not okay with the manipulation and lying.
Book a hotel cancelled according to their policy the hotel was drug related this was 5/******* I am still trying to get my money back please save yourself a headache di not use them choice hotels is reliable and hotel are not drug related
If there was less than a one star I would give that. I paid for a two day rental car from budget in Italy. I paid Booking.com $415 for the rental. When I picked up the rental I signed the agreement. Nothing was said about any extra costs, just that gas was cheaper through Budget so dont fill it up. When I returned from my vacation I was charged an extra $559 on my credit card. I inquired about the extra fees, and booking.com said because I signed the agreement there was nothing they could do, case closed. I looked through the agreement and it looks like Budget charged all kinds of extras and I dont even know what for. We rented a Fiat! So $974 later for a two day Fiat rental and no one will help. I will NEVER go back to Booking.com again, or Budget rental.
Despite not responding to customer being threatened with eviction due to charge imposed after arrival and not communicated by them, the agent, the extra agent and the host they don't phone back to help. Communication is dreadful and happy to end/disconnect calls.
Booking.com supports the property owner's cancelation policy even when the property owner shows a blatant lack of human decency. I had to cancel my stay at Holland Villa in Vancouver 2 weeks ahead of my scheduled stay because my son fell critically ill. Booking.com agreed my fee should be waived on compassionate grounds but the owner refused even after I called him in tears and sent him a text explaining the whole story. My son needs a lung transplant. Booking.com said there was nothing further they could do.
Booked my hotel three months in advance The day before I was flying to my vacation.
Hotel was canceled because bookingcom Gave the hotel my creditecard stating it was a visa versus a mastercard. I know this because the hotel sent proof of this communication from bookingcom. One day before family vacation not something anybody needs to find out. Booking dot com just kept pointing the finger at the hotel And did nothing.
To compensate for inconvenience means an issue that they caused. This was the very first and I suggest that everyone else run away from booking dot com.
I booked a hotel through these people and then cancelled it the following day when i realized what a $#*!ty place it was.
I should have been given a refund right then and there, but i have been waiting over 75 days now and all i get is the same song and dance about how they are working on it.
This is a complete scam company who will do nothing to help you should your booking not turn out as they promised.
Do not use them...use someone more credible

NEVER AGAIN
This is the worst form of travel you can find. Cancelations that are inevitable, like flight cancelations, are IMPOSSIBLE to pull through. You will be charged nevertheless. Always book from the hotel directly. I just did that and they told me they would help me out if a flight is canceled. I will never use Booking.com again. Shame on you all.
SHOULD BE ZERO.ZERO! An absolute nightmare to deal with! I booked through Booking.com in March 2023 for a property in Cable Beach, Nassau Bahamas. After months of back n forth with payments, booking additional services, etc., I was informed on July 5th that the home reserved for my trip on July 15th was not available. They seemed to have overbooked was the response. How could this happen after dealing with Jason in their office? I even received the Check-In documents for access to the property and then this? I immediately contacted Booking.com who quite frankly was useless in resolving this issue. I will have a separate negative review later. Thank God, I went to AirBnB and found an even lovelier place on the beach. The people at Bahamas Vacation Club are a bunch of clowns and belong in a circus. Not in this service industry! STAY AWAY, FAR AWAY!
This is the absolute worst experience with flying that I have ever had. You book and PAY for a 2 bedroom just to receive a 1 bedroom, how the actual f does that work? Changing your conformation on the website so that it seems as if it is what you booked. My plane tickets THAT I BOOKED AND PAYED was also changed when the conformation letter came. I mean why the hell do you pre book and pay tickets, or even rooms, just for it to change again last minute. It is 4 and a half hour before my flight and now me and my husband aren't even sitting in the same row. NEVER EVER AGAIN! I will do anything but use booking.com. This is the biggest $#*! show of a circus that you would EVER experience. If you want to pay full price and receive a bunch of crap in return and you want the unpredictability, go ahead, if you actually give a crap about service and quality STAY CLEAR!
My family and I had a great stay, the staffs we amazing always smiling n greeting us and the room was very spacious and nice with a full kitchen…will be staying again
If I could give zero starts I would. Horrible customer service. I ended up cancelling my stay and going somewhere else due to water damage in the room however booking.com would not process my refund even thought the hotel guaranteed a full refund. When I booking.com them they said I would have to contact the hotel, which I did again, and again they confirmed the cancellation on their end. Booking.com still would not issue the refund. I had to dispute the charges on my credit card.
I booked a hotel thru Booking.Com and in my confirmation email it says that a third party partner was involved. My hotel identified the partner as Expedia because I tried to cancel the booking. Booking.com would not mention Expedia in their emails to me. Booking.com and the hotel sent me emails confirming my cancellation free of charge even though the deadline for the cancellation has passed. Armed with the cancellation email from both Booking.com and the hotel free of charge, I booked another hotel. But since I was still charged with the first booking I sent an email to Booking.com, and Booking.com replied that since 3rd party partner is involved, there will be no refund. In the mind of an average person, the booking has been cancelled free of charge, and now this? What free of charges are they talking about if they will not do a refund? Had I was informed in the 'cancellation' email that 3rd party partner Expedia is not willing to refund my money, do you think I would make a new booking? Too many questions here.
Answer: In my case they took my payment information and paid the hotel where I was going to be staying. Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.
Answer: Don't waste time with booking.com. They have horrible customer service and will make every attempt to cheat you. Simply report the problem to your credit card company to get your refund.
Answer: Run. Run away. This company and the company used to insure their bookings are scams.
Answer: I don't know why you're even using this site Stephanie. Their after sales is disgusting! Recommend travel Republic. Great prices and options
Answer: You pay a non refundable price on line. When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.
Answer: It depends on the hotel some don't charge until you arrive at hotel more will charge your card straight away check your booking it should tell you there
Answer: Trevago is hooked into Booking.com don't make a mistake and let trevago send you to booking.com go to Hotel.com which is more professional. I had to go to American Express customer serviced to complain and they gave a dead line for explanation. They had no explanation for crappy service and had to repay me.
Answer: NOT BOOKING.CON
Answer: You will need to pay taxes in addition to the quoted price. Call the motel and they will tell you about the taxes. A few places still don't charge exttra taxes e.g. Harris Ranch in California.
Answer: You can't. That's the whole idea. You provide a service, and your customers get to give their review of your place and your services.
