The overall reputation of the company reflects significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to inadequate customer service and a lack of accountability. Many reviews highlight issues such as harsh refund policies, unresponsive support, and problems with fraudulent listings, leading to frustrations over lost funds and unresolved complaints. While some customers appreciate the variety of accommodations offered, the overwhelming sentiment indicates a lack of trust in the company's commitment to customer satisfaction. To improve its reputation, the company must enhance its customer service responsiveness and take greater responsibility for the listings it promotes.

We had a booking to go to our place to stay but halfway there they call us to say we don't have a reservation/ it got canceled. They didn't charge us as if that'll help. This mess of a company is terrible and never book here.
The worst customer service yet. If you can actually find their telephone number, it's not a toll-free number, and you usually sit on hold for at least 30 minutes before someone with a strong accent picks up the line. If your lucky enough not to get disconnected, they won't call you back, you'll need to start over. Then when they make changes, due to the accents and language barriers, they hear different dates than you say, for example, when I say 20th, they understand it as 25th and make you flight arrangements according to that date. Thank God I had to call in again, and found out the wrong dates were entered. They don't email confirmation of changes, nor do they stand behind their refund policies stated on their website. If you ask for a supervisor they will argue with you and demand to know why and if they don't like your answer they refuse to transfer you or to provide a telephone. They advise you to visit their website, yet there is no place on the website to contact customer service no email, no responses when you click on the supposed links. I have treated the agents on the line with respect and have never raised my voice nor have I used fowl language. Yet, they being the employee have been so rude and unwilling to assist me in anyway. Not sure if they work remote, but several times all you can hear are people yelling in the back ground, now I'm assuming those voices are they fellow co-workers yelling at other customers on the phone, like they are to me. I would expect any good standing company to honor what they have advertised and to refund extra flight fees and provide basic decent customer service. I am beyond disappointed and frustrated with Booking.com. I will never never use them again.

I entered a negative review about a hotel we stayed in, in Brussels, Belgium (July 2023). The email I received from booking.com said to check out the reviews. I expected to see my review, but no, I saw a line stating "This review has been hidden because it doesn't meet our guidelines." It was a negative review.
I only read positive reviews about the hotel when I booked. Now I know!
I will never use Booking.com again. The representative was disrespectful and intimidating to me. My trip was celebrating my retirement. I made the reservation and was it was confirmed.
The reservation was I would not be refunded at 1400.00. The reservation included a breakfast plan at the Victoria Clermont Hotel. I never received canceled notice from Booking.com. I eventually forced to use another traveling agency paying 1800 and no breakfast plan. Booking.com NEVER AGAIN
Booking collected a tax that was renamed "spa tax". On site I had to pay exactly the same amount but now it was called tourist tax. Booking is charging 2 timestamp the same amount. In all email traffic they refer to the owners and who, in turn, say that I should arrange it with Booking. Last time for me. Unreliable gold diggers. They can write nice emails (without a solution).
Worst venue to book flights, they never answer thier customer service number and never ever help on anything, biggest scammer and crooks, always pass the ball on someones else, even i bought insurance they said call airlines not us avoid them at all cost
My wife and i recently stayed in seaview washjington for our 9 year anniversary, booking at the seaview cottages, our 2 night stay was awesome as we were 1/4 mile from the beach, great food, and close to the oregon coast which we explored...i would highly reccomend the seaview cottages to any travelers as the price was good.the unit was super clean and the property owners and help were fabulous...thanks seaview cottages for a great experience manly and lina from renton washington
They claim to price match but make it impossible. Should not have to spend an hour on the phone to match competitors prices. I took screenshots of all of the sites but they don't review the link until days later after the price has changed and then will not honor it
Tried to book hotel, got error message that my payment was successfully but place could not be booked and will get my money back within next 24h. Ten days later i am still waiting for my money. Customer service very bad, via phone they could not do anything, told me to check with my bank. Tried via email, told me it can take 7-12 day, ignoring the fact about the message which says 24h and my question why is Booking lying. It was not a small amount of money and because something went wrong on their site I am punished, not able to plan my vacation and book some other place due waiting for Booking to send me my money back!
I booked a car with Booking.com, and prepaid for the car. The flight got delayed for 1 hour, and when I arrived, the car rental company did not offer me a car and asked me to call Booking. I called Booking, who told me that the car I paid for is given to someone else and I can book another one in the next 48 hours.
At that moment (23:50,11:50 PM), I searched for a car via booking.com at Barcelona airport, but there were no results available. This meant I was going to be stuck in the airport with no open car rental service and a hotel reservation 140 km away. I started to talk to rental offerings in person and found one out of pure luck to start my holiday. Booking.com, however, said there will not be any refund on the prepaid fee.
So you pay for a car, the flight gets delayed, and Booking keeps your money for a service they did not provide. This would be applicable every time the flight has > 1-hour delay. Easy profit for them, great business model. All, of course, at your expense. Do not use Booking.com.
I have used booking.com once and I will never be using again. When booking a room it stated a price and once paying booking.com raised the price! And the reason i booked the place specifically was because of the okay price. I tried writing to them but they have not responded and I tried calling the number they provided and it does not work. Will never be using booking.com ever again. Also not to mention that on most rooms it states "2 rooms left" which is not the case at all as we were the only people staying in the hotel! We also noticed that the places they have on their site are quite misleading with false information about the venues regarding amenities etc. If you want a nice holiday do not book through booking.com.
Booking.com are deceiving in the way they advertise rooms. Before I booked my room it said it was discounted and it also said that it was one of the only rooms left. After I booked the room I was charged full price and when I got to my hotel, I was the only guest. It is also difficult to cancel bookings and to contact customer service. I have tried messaging and calling but haven't got a response and the customer service numbers do not work. I would recommend booking your accomodation through another company.
Bookings.com tried to over charge me a ludicrous fee for an issue with my flight that should have been considered force majeure. Meanwhile when I spoke with the airline directly they were very understanding and charged me a.25 of the fee Bookings.com tried to charge me. I will never use them again.
I recently stayed in a Hilton hotel in Nashville Tennessee (Homewood Vanderbilt)we booked through booking.com while my cousin booked the same room for the same stay through Priceline
After check in I discovered they paid over $300 less that we did
They likely made more money than Hilton did off of us, since Hilton has taxes, employee costs etc
Priceline was over $300 cheaper and still made a profit!
When I complained at the desk Hilton manager said I would have to complain to booking.com, since we booked the room through them, yet I gave my credit card to a Hilton employee at the hotel
This casts Hilton in a bad light as well, since they seem to approve of their price gouging partner! Time to see if Marriott has a rewards program! Screw Hilton and booking.com

I booked a serviced apartment at a hotel in Athen's called - Athens Smart Central via booking.com - on arrival at 11.30pm at night with 2 children, we were unable to access the apartment as their was no key left as per the instuctions, the promised attended reception was unattended. Calling and emailing the numbers and email addresses provided received no response and I was left standing in a dark Athens alley at midnight with 2 children and our luggage.
Subsequent follow up with the Athens Smart Central resulted in abuse and threats when we asked for our money back. Follow up with booking.com has resulted in no response.
For your own safety do not trust this booking site.
Booked a hotel in downtown Chicago. As soon as we arrived it had a sign that said,"$#*!" displayed. All check-in automated, which took like 20 mins. It is the Citizen M Hotel. Location was good. Hotel was totally wrong for us and we left in five minutes. Paid $1 600 for two rooms, three nights. It was like a youth hostile or dorm room. No room to move and hard to enter bathroom. Absolutely horrible. Had to find another hotel, which was very nice at same price. Complained to young girl where you enter. THEN spoke to Booking.com and told them the story. They contacted the hotel and of course they declined the refund. Worst case scenario they should return the other two nights. Bad, bad, bad customer service. That's a lot of money to lose, $1 600. And they probably gave it to a very young person, which is all it's meant for, and charged them again. Description should have mentioned some age preferences and they very small room. Not a dresser or cabinet and no counter in the bathroom. So unhappy with Booking.com
Do not go through Booking.com or Red Roof Inn. I booked a room for one night and then my trip was cancelled. I call Ed Red Roof Inn and they said I had to go through Booking.com to cancel. This was the day before the booking. I contacted Booking and the said they would contact Red Roof to make an exception and cancel but that there could be a fee. That was ok with me. This was last week. Monday I still had not received a credit and again contacted both Booking and Red Roof. I have not heard back from Booking and Red Roof said they marked me as a "no show" and charged full price with no refund. I went through all of the right channels to cancel to be charged for a service not rendered?! I repeat….Do NOT give these companies any business!
I have used booking.com on countless occasions to book hotel stays however, the ratings of some hotels are wholly inaccurate and do not reflect a lot of hotels. I have tried to write a review on every hotel stay however, booking.com do not publish the reviews and are very selective, thus it leads to a lot of misleading hotel ratings which then leads to very disappointing hotel stays. There needs to be a change in the policy so that all reviews are published provided you have booked and stayed, so that people can book accommodation that "accurately" reflects the reviews.
Answer: In my case they took my payment information and paid the hotel where I was going to be staying. Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.
Answer: Don't waste time with booking.com. They have horrible customer service and will make every attempt to cheat you. Simply report the problem to your credit card company to get your refund.
Answer: Run. Run away. This company and the company used to insure their bookings are scams.
Answer: I don't know why you're even using this site Stephanie. Their after sales is disgusting! Recommend travel Republic. Great prices and options
Answer: You pay a non refundable price on line. When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.
Answer: It depends on the hotel some don't charge until you arrive at hotel more will charge your card straight away check your booking it should tell you there
Answer: Trevago is hooked into Booking.com don't make a mistake and let trevago send you to booking.com go to Hotel.com which is more professional. I had to go to American Express customer serviced to complain and they gave a dead line for explanation. They had no explanation for crappy service and had to repay me.
Answer: NOT BOOKING.CON
Answer: You will need to pay taxes in addition to the quoted price. Call the motel and they will tell you about the taxes. A few places still don't charge exttra taxes e.g. Harris Ranch in California.
Answer: You can't. That's the whole idea. You provide a service, and your customers get to give their review of your place and your services.
Booking.com provides online bookings of hotels, resorts, hostels, and other travel accommodations around the world.
