The overall reputation of the company reflects significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to inadequate customer service and a lack of accountability. Many reviews highlight issues such as harsh refund policies, unresponsive support, and problems with fraudulent listings, leading to frustrations over lost funds and unresolved complaints. While some customers appreciate the variety of accommodations offered, the overwhelming sentiment indicates a lack of trust in the company's commitment to customer satisfaction. To improve its reputation, the company must enhance its customer service responsiveness and take greater responsibility for the listings it promotes.

Booking.com as it was very poor. Booking.com said they would deal with our case through their customer service but then emailed to say that they had tried and failed to get hold of the hotel manager so bad luck we can't help you anymore. They left it at that: very disappointed and very poor customer service. Not to be trusted.
I booked at an all inclusive for 3 people. When I checked in it said the cost was only for one person. There was never any indication that this was the case. When I made my reservation I put in a room for 3 people. We ended up paying a lot more and the hotel was wonderful about trying to help us. I emailed booking.com and never heard back from them until I called and emailed 5 days later. The agent I had to speak with was foreign and I could hardly understand her. She kept giggling about my predicament. They have horrible customer service and I will never use them again. They are very dishonest and I now see that a lot of people have had problems with them thus the low rating. I think they should be booking. Scam.
It's 7:00 am Saturday and I couldn't sleep, make the story short I made a reservation in booking.com web and I was very careful to pic a room with King bed, I suppose to be charged for a "Deluxe King or double room" at the registration I was informed that has no such room available, I said I will not pay for something I didn't request, trying to reach costume service and of course NOBODY answer, was late night I was exhausted and ended up to take whatever they have. The hotel was very different from the pics, old, comfort level very poor, terrible bed, it's a mariott century center Emory in Georgia/USA, parking the car it's a war zone, I even don't want mention the breakfast quality... So be careful with this people!
Booked one night and when I arrived the room was HORRIBLE. Told by manager at hotel I had to call booking.com to cancel. Waited and waited on hold until manager refunded my credit card charge less booking. Coms fee. Booking.com says they do not charge hotels a fee but that is not correct according to hotel manager.
Tried to contact Booking.com and they have not responded to 3 different emails.
Use their site to locate a hotel and prices, but then book directly with hotel.
Please explain why anyone would seriously complain about Booking? It is a great site, easy to use, offers great deals. Sorry guys, but I have no idea what the problem is with Booking.
Don't use this site. Website changed my days requested and no possible way to change. Customer service is non-existent. 2 hours on hold 4 unanswered emails
I had book two double room one for me and my son's girlfriend The view from the room was great, lovely view, but en suite toilet where my son stayed had an unbearable smells of sewer (poo) room no. 6 my son and his girlfriend was unable to get a decent sleep because of the smell they had to shut the bathroom door to contain the foul smell coming from the toilet, my son and his girlfriend had to have their shower in our room as they can stand the foul smell coming from the toilet. My son had written a letter of dissatisfaction about this problem and gave it to the reception, the receptionist had ask which room no. It is when we said its no. 6 they had admit they they are aware of the problem. I would not recommend anyone to stay in this accommodation
I will never book through this site again. An absolute disgrace. The mobile app didn't work and when it did I never pressed anything but it went through and it wasn't what I wanted. They could not cancel the booking and the payment was taken out straight away and Booking.com would not give me a receipt.
Booked what I thought was ONE hotel room on booking.com. I reserved a room that could be cancelled with 24-hour notice. Received a confirmation from booking.com for TWO rooms. When I attempted to cancel a room, I was informed one room could be cancelled, but the remaining room could not be cancelled. No problem. After all,I wanted one room. But then it occurred to me, booking.com had defrauded me into getting a reservation that could not be cancelled. By giving me two rooms, one that could not be cancelled, I had no choice but to keep the one room and PAY IN ADVANCE. So much for customer convenience. I have read similar reviews of double bookings online. Booking.com is a FRAUD! RUN from booking.com.
I don't write reviews, but I must alert you tow fraud in this site. I used booking.com once to book a pousada in Salvador de Bahia for the upcoming Easter break. He following day, my Visa account was shut down for fraudulent activity. This was the only transaction that I had on booking.com. How is it possible that this fraudulent activity could have happened so soon? There is no question that the fraud originated on your site. Unbelievable that minutes after I made the booking charges were submitted in New York followed by Richmond, Va the following day at Morton's Steakhouse. Unbelievable. I will never use your site again. Buyer beware.
CANCELED MY RESERVATION DUE TO CHANGE IN THE DATES, SHOWS IT CANCELED BUT THEY STILL CHARGED ME GIVING ME THE RUN AROUND LIKE I AM THE PROBLEM. THEY CLAIM ITS NOT CANCELED I SEE IT IS. NOT FAIR HUGE SCAM CONTACTED MY BANK TO FILE CLAIM, WILL NOT GO DOWN WITHOUT A FIGHT.
Do not use this service, they will not price guarantee and will not help once the reservation is made. The hotel went down by over $200 and booking.com would do nothing to help me out!
I have been using Booking for a few years now, and I was barelly disappointed. The only thing that I beleive they need to do better, is to have room prices to be inclusive of taxes and service charges.

After posting my first review for using Booking.com for a number of years, I have to admit that recently (in the last 3 months or so) booking.com has started to disappoint. You can find cheaper prices through other websites and apps. Some hotels on offer are even cheaper from the hotel's own website. Which is a bit strange. Something has obviously happenned at booking. However, I still give it full mark for ease of use and providing good information on hotels.
Lyubov Zaytseva helped me cancel a non refundable booking. I was so happy I almost cried! Excellent customer service!
I always book through bookings.com dont listen to negative reports I have never had a problem with this site ever, all I can say is brilliant love it and until I encounter any of these negative reports will continue to use them. They have brilliant deals on some hotels and some are really cheap you can get some really good discounts on this site.
The site advertises free cancellation on many properties but beware of places which charge your credit card a deposit (usually immediately) - not much incentive for them to play ball when you cancel. I had a property drag its feet, claim it could not refund money to a credit card, lie about when a wire transfer was sent etc and booking.com has done little to help. You will be the one doing all the work!
I was shocked. Many times I booked hotels with booking.com and everything was ok. Until recent case. I made a booking for the Blakehouse Hyde Park Hotel in London, but then cancelled it a few hours later. At the booking stages I was assured that the card will not be charged for this booking and we will only pay when we stay at the hotel itself. However I was shocked to find out I WAS CHARGED!
We recently booked a hotel in New York City through booking.com--it displayed one price and the reservation through at a higher price--about $50 more per night. We thought the higher price was the listed price plus taxes--we were wrong. So be careful and check more thoroughly then we did. When I called booking.com to ask what happened they told me they would contact the hotel and get back to me--I have heard nothing. There were two rooms involved so the amount involved was just over $100. The parking fees were also incorrectly advertised. (As an aside, the hotel involved was The Benjamin on 125 East 50th Street. They charged a daily rate for parking and the price is the same for one hour or 24 hours--there is no hourly rate for part of a day. There were two cars involved so we would up paying approximately $140 for a total of three hours of parking). This whole experience was a wake up call for me--check everything! I will not use booking.com again--ever.
I booked a hotel stay through Booking.com only to get to my destination and find out that the Hotel that they booked me in ISN'T EVEN OPEN/OPERATIONAL! So my family vacation turned into a 6hr round trip drive back home because all the other hotels in the vicinity were completely sold out. I called Booking.com and the best they could do for me was to offer to pay for my fuel costs to get to my destination, not even for the fuel cost back or offer to discount me a room if I used them again. So due to their negligence to actually check up on their hotels that they sell room through my family got to sit in the car for 6hrs and return home.
I reserve hotel in Bali for 3 weeks. No problem, all the servicies are ok. Perfect reservation for good price.
Answer: In my case they took my payment information and paid the hotel where I was going to be staying. Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.
Answer: Don't waste time with booking.com. They have horrible customer service and will make every attempt to cheat you. Simply report the problem to your credit card company to get your refund.
Answer: Run. Run away. This company and the company used to insure their bookings are scams.
Answer: I don't know why you're even using this site Stephanie. Their after sales is disgusting! Recommend travel Republic. Great prices and options
Answer: You pay a non refundable price on line. When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.
Answer: It depends on the hotel some don't charge until you arrive at hotel more will charge your card straight away check your booking it should tell you there
Answer: Trevago is hooked into Booking.com don't make a mistake and let trevago send you to booking.com go to Hotel.com which is more professional. I had to go to American Express customer serviced to complain and they gave a dead line for explanation. They had no explanation for crappy service and had to repay me.
Answer: NOT BOOKING.CON
Answer: You will need to pay taxes in addition to the quoted price. Call the motel and they will tell you about the taxes. A few places still don't charge exttra taxes e.g. Harris Ranch in California.
Answer: You can't. That's the whole idea. You provide a service, and your customers get to give their review of your place and your services.
